A few new additions to my Blood Angels are ready for the table top. I have actually had these finished for awhile, but my wife recently bought a new 'HD' camera and I hate the thing. It depresses me with its quality because it makes my figures look like crap. The models look much better in person, but at least you can see some of my recent work. With 1 assault sqd and mephiston to go, im excited and anxious to get my first wave of BA's out of the way so I can begin my Eldar army!

Comments/criticism is welcomed!

P.S. The pic of the rhino was taken before I finished the head of the marine.

They're well done. Very clean paint jobs.

I feel like an investment in a metallic gold paint might be worth it though... Also, the guns they're holding could use a little more detail.

He is flat. I will eventually go back and try my hand at NMM gold on him and the other gold models in my army, but for now he is table top ready. As for the guns and other weapons, they will eventually be given paint too, just wanted to at least get them on the board.

As you are aware of Dante's flatness, I will say merely that you've done a splendid job of painting very crisp miniatures, and the non-metallic parts look quite good.

Nice work Element. I especially like the chaplain. Crisp and clean, just as I'd expect from your fine skills.

I appreciate it Gits! He is definitely the special character I devoted the most time to and as I stated in my original post, these pics do no justice to him. The skull-helm has a bunch of depth and different colors for shading and highlighting (along the suture lines it looks fantastic!) -- unfortunately it was almost completely drowned out by the flash. Out of my entire BA army, it is the term chap and capt tycho I am most proud of!

Actually, I need to go back and finish the entire gun . Im going to hold out on the details though as I would prefer to get my 10-man assault squad completed and start Mephiston

As well you should be! Really interested to see you take on some NMM techniques with these. Should be quite the education.

Thanks! My entire BA army is supposed to be NMM, but of the 70+ models ive painted only 1 has any hint of NMM work; my captain Tycho. Without any practice I jumped right in and painted his gun NMM style. If that work is any indication of my NMM skill, I think the other models are going to come out great; although NMM gold seems much more difficult than NMM silver/boltgun metal. Thanks again for the kind compliments!

I really hope to see some of this stuff finished; Tycho's gun and details show you really do have some skill as a painter, but the flat brownish color really isn't exciting at all. I'd finish some models before starting on more.

Really like the paint work on tycho's base. It, and the rest of your models, are really clean and crisp. Besides the already mentioned flatness of the brown armor very awesome work, Element.

I see what you done there NMM gold, when I saw the brown I knew it was that but your Chaplain is great! so I knew you must be planning to do something cool with dante (I am building him at this moment in time how cool?)

Chaplain and Rhino rock! Dante does seem a bit flat, could use either gold paint or highlights to do the "non-metallic" metal that GW is currently so fond of. But your painting skills are awesome!

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Teh Chaplain looks good but the picslook like there is no highlighting on the Rhino or Dante.

Also, is it the pic or is Dante wearing brown armour?

Its not a pen, its an 18/0 Princeton Brush. Thats right, the script and purity seals are all done free hand! I am very proud of that fact!

The terminator chaplain is brilliant, a great painted figure. The rhino and Dante, look too flat. They need depth, the armour on Dante is one shade but the wings on his jump pack are really nice. Perhaps a touch of washes and highlighting on the armour will make the armour stand out. On the Rhino its a single shade of red, maybe a little drybrushing of orange or chainmail on the edges will make it less single colour.
