Been a lurker here for some time now...figured I would jump in with something differnt


I have been repainting and converting some Halo Miniatures from Mega Blocks. Seems silly but the minis are pretty cool and vehicles are awesome.

I see that Mega Blok Spartans work out to about £1.50 each, which makes them cheaper than Space Marines.

I once tried to make rules for halo 40k. It was going rather well till my laptop died and lost all the word files with the rules

These are pretty big/blocky. They ones you see are on 40mm bases. I could not easily fit them on a 25-30 mm base

I think they would be pretty good for True Scale SMs, then.

Or war robots for a different SF background.

Makes me wonder too how well the other mega bloks stuff would work out. Like Iron Man.

Maybe count a warthog with no turret as a rhino but open topped and one with a turret an open topped razorback? Maybe scorpion = predator. You could count ODST pods as drop pods but use them in squads rather than one large single pod.

And if they were a 40k race which one do you think the covenant would be?

The UNSC marines....the guys who fight with you. They were by far cooler than master chief

This as a very cool idea. I think the spartans look a bit weird with covenant weapons though, but I guess that's just me.

You should totally invent a codex for these so you can actually play with them. I've seen several fan made UNSC and Covenant codexes floating around, they could give you ideas.

I have played around a little with making a SM Chapter, I would call them "Spartans" obviously. From a modeling standpoint the space marines would be made to look more like a halo Spartan. I was going to use some heads from Pig Iron, and then green stuff the marnies to look more like Spartans..In the end though the idea got put on the shelf right next to my "Thundercats" themed army...Maybe one day!
