So out of my 4 Stormraven models I wanted to create one of them that looked like it just survived a campaign that dealt with heritic guard (the more fanatical version of renegade guard) here is the resulting outcome.

Now it is not complete yet I still need to gouge the bolter holes and I need to find my blasted hand drill so I can drill out some autogun holes but I did an almost COMPLETE number on this thing and so far I am happy with the results.

In the pictures I show what was used to make the damage that the picture focuses on.

No not death company but I did want to use this in a victory diorama. . .

Could you post some more pics so I can see what it looks like? But no, in all seriousness I like it. Always love physically battle-damaged things. Are those huge gouges in the side doors (you'll have to excuse me if that is incorrect - I don't know Storm Ravens!) the result of melta weapons?

Damage is looking great, definitely looking forward to seeing some paint on it.

@Oppl: Yes the holes are from melt a damage. Since the raven has cerramite sheilding I made them rather small. Without the shielding they would have been much bigger.

@Zefig: I can not wait to finish it myself!

Looking good. It would be cool to see some metal plates welded or riveted on like hasty repairs..

I was thinking about that actually. . . Need to go to my local home depot for the plasticard. . .

I'm not sure if you considered it (and it might be too late now) but it seems like most of the damage should be on the bottom half of the storm raven or on the front ramps etc. as troops are shooting up at it. Unless it lands when it deploys units (I am not too familiar with the rules).

Just something to consider i guess. I like it a lot, regardless. I like that it looks like it got some wear and tear.

Most of the damage actually is suppose to show damage from ambushes and while flying over the Heritic guards incampment to drop off the sanguinary guard squad and dreadnought. I will be showing the dreadnought after I finish painting it.

The raven can pull a VAL type of debark for the troops inside and dread. When I am done with it you will see where most of the damage is. There is most likely to be 4-6 posts of 7-10 pictures each.

You should model a Space Marine with his chest blown out slumped on a bench like a round pierced the hull and killed him.

Glad to see somebody has the guts to add damage to a new flyer. The metal is gonna look awesome.

Ugh now I have to hope my meager painting skills are up to this. . . The damage is the easy part for me. . .

Has any one seen people add battle damage to their raven or eldsr equiv?

Sorry for the delay in pictures and updates for those that like this.

More pictures with the Raven painted with the chapter colors followed by pictures of the Raveñ with the battle damage painted in chaos black to begin the process of painting the damage.

I used the camera flash in some to make the black show up better

Close up pictures of the damage and paint chips. I think I will use some liquid green stuff to make it look like paint is peeling due to the superheated weapons.
