This is a new Mantic Games blog. I want to keep it more focused than before. Let's get started!

Mantic Orx Marauders. Really cool models, I eagerly look forward to more Warpath in the future! More pictures here.

Orc Ax. Primed with The Army Painter Leather Brown. I love these models!

Orc Greatax. People often say that there is too little variation with these models. I stongly disagree. With a few extra heads used from the Ax (of which there are mant spare), this looks like one mean and impressive unit!

A regiment of Skeletons. Mantic's Undead is just brilliant, these miniatures are so very charecterful. I've began painting them purple and orange, but the orange looks very red in this photo for some reason.

60 more Mantic Skeletons! Primed with The Army Painter Skeleton Bone. Beautiful Primers. There are 21 sword and shield Skeletons to bolster the regiment into a horde, and 40 spear and shield Skeletons to make a phalanx horde - excluding the command group, I have converted the ones carrying pre-attached weapons so that they all can carry spears. Really easy to do. Can you spot them?

Some very much work in progress Elves. I struggle to see the negatives about Mantic's Elves. I can understand the Bowmen argument*, but they really are some of Mantic's original and best plastic miniatures.

*although there are some really nice metal alternatives - please make in restic, Mantic!

I hope that got your inspiration for the day. If you have questions, critiques, or anything, please feel free to drop a comment below. I have no idea when I'll be back with this blog, but time will tell!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cosmic.

EDIT: I've removed the Empire pictures, as they are no longer relevant to this blog. Please check down below!

Just a small update.

I was looking through the Mantic site the other day, specifically for the Orc Flagger (a very nice mini indeed!). It was only availiabe as part of the the Krudger's Gang set, which also contains the awesome Krudger on Gore and the Goblin Sneek, two of which I didn't need. So I came up with this. I hope you enjoy:

What do you think? Anything that you'd do differently?

Big update soon! (About 137 times more )

Those are some really cool looking models! Great paint on the orcs. Looks like you have a lot of models ahead of you! Look forward to seeing your progress.

My first reply - thanks, Depraved!

Yes, the Orcs are really cool models. They're growing on me day by day. The Army Painter sprays just make everything so much more colourful.

Progress, I will! I'll have more up soon.

Cheers mate

As promised:

...

The best zombies in the business, in my opinion.

Ghouls. Amazing models... so quick to put together, so few mold lines! The Colour Primer: Uniform Grey was outstanding - I needn't have bothered with another coat.

Revenants. Assembling these guys was a blast. Although they use half of the Skeleton components, they are a completely different kettle of fish - the next level up. Skeletons face onwards when you assemble them, but these guys are on a sidewards stance, giving them massive forward momentem. I was also very pleased with how the leader turned out!

Morax. Very much like these guys. I've never worked with this much metal up until now - it has been a great lesson! Only two heads are the same; the whole kit really exalts the existing Kings of War Orc line.

Unleash hell! (...in quite a literal sense!)

Krudger! I wouldn't want to mess with this guy.

I thought that the cloak looked pretty cool.

Liche King. Love the detail and interaction within this model.

The infamous Antonia the Dark!

Blast off!

Revenant King. It's between him and the Krudger.

Keeping the Skeletons in line.

It's been a fun week. Thankyou so much for checking this out!

Any comments? Please feel free to drop them below. Until next time,

Cosmic.

Wow those are some really detailed models. I'm watching this thread and getting jealous! The more you show the more I want. Can't wait to see some more paint on them.

Thanks again, Depraved! The models are fantastic. Remember that with Mantic, you can! I'm being really pulled towards the Orcs, I think I'll start them next.

Have a great day, mate.

Spot the Difference:

The Orcs grouped together:

I'd quite like to get these guys done before the 12th of November. 500 points in total.

1500 points of Undead. I'm going to let this one play out for a bit

...and finally, a moving line of literature from the risen remnants of William Shakespeare himself:

"Alas, poor Yorick, I ate his brains."

There we go, the man's said it!

Have a wonderful weekend, folks.

That's a great start to the log, I'll be following along with this.

Interested to see how your army painter undercoats work out, I've been thinking of doing the same thing with my orcs. Let me know which paints and washes you use on those!

Hey, 'squig, it's great to have you here!

The way I paint my Orcs is really simple:

- Start with a Leather Brown primer.

- Begin painting on the base coats. I use Gretchin Green for the skin, Deneb Stone for any teeth or claws, Mechrite Red for the eyes, and a suitable silver for the metal. I like Chainmail, but if you prefer, Boltgun Metal would work just as well.

- I then use The Army Painter's Quickshade: Strongtone for the shading and to varnish the whole miniature (I swear by this stuff). However, I think that a Devlan Mud-bath should work just as well.

- Seal the model. Use Anti-Shine Matte Varnish if using Quickshade. It can take a little bit of getting used to, but I now have very accurate results with it.

I Hope this helps. Check the Marauders above as a guide!

Cosmic.

Nice blog, looking forward to seeing some more colours on the models. I'm painting Mantic Undead at the moment, and they are great figures.
I'm using Army Painter desert brown for my skelies, so they look a bit grimier than yours, but that suits me.

Interested to see how your Ghouls come out, they're next on my "to paint" list.

Hi Da Boss, I'm interested to see how your skellies look!

It may well be that you get your Ghouls painted before I get mine done, but we can exchange notes

Hi Da Boss!

Unlucky that you missed your flight home

Please do shoot us a PM with the photos! I'll at least add a link to your blog on here.

Well, seeing as yesterday was winter themed, today shall be quite the opposite... desert themed!

Cheers, folks.

Update time...

WARPATH!

The Forge Fathers:

Steel Warriors.

---

Storm Rage Veterans.

---

Jotunn Heavy Hailstorm Cannon.

---

Marauder Orx:

Raptor. I think that this one is pretty cool

---

I was wondering how to keep the Heavy Hailstorm Cannon and the Raptor safe, and they fitted brilliantly into one of the large carrying cases!

---

All models were primed with The Army Painter Platemail Metal. The plastic-resin is very interesting, unlike anything that I have used before. It can take a lot of force without any detail being harmed, and is easy to glue (because it's so light compared to metal - remember to use super glue!).

To anyone who has followed this blog so far, thank you very, very much

That's it for now, folks. I don't plan to update.

Please hop over to IdentifyZero's P&M blog, and give him as much support as you can!

Man, that's how nice the army painter metal is? That's amazing!! Why do I waste time doing a black and then metallic....

The obligatory: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Noooo! When are you going to paint and update these guys Cosmic? They are such cool minis. :( You need to keep going because nobody else has a blog with the miniatures you do.

Thank you for the shout-out though. ^.^ We'll have to keep in touch and thanks for the company of marines, rawr!

Thanks for the kind words, IdentifyZero. ^.^

I was very impressed by the quality of the Platemetal spray. I only needed one coat for the vehicles, and two for the troops because I didn't manage to get at all of the areas!

The miniatures are superb. I can't stress that enough. I don't know if or when I will be back with this blog, but for now, not at the moment.

We'll have to most definately keep in touch. Now, enjoy those Marines!

Glad to see your undead are growing. Would you like to trade bitz?

I collect:

Grand alliance death (whole alliance)

Stormcast eternals

Sorry folks, it's been a while!

I have deleted several images of the Empire pictrues above because they now belong to another lucky wargamer... hopefully for use with Kings of War!

Alright then, it's update time. Here's 500 points of Mantic Games Elves, ready to be dipped with Quickshade:

The war engine isn't quite finished yet.

I like the cat!

These are seriously some of the most fun and beautiful models that I have ever painted... I feel that some of the hate towards them is unjustified, especially Ronnie hitting them with his hammer! Indeed, we are all entitled to our own opinions.

Next up are the Orcs, I am very excited to share them with you - you'll see them very soon! Then it's the Undead, and then it's dipping time!

Things are finally looking up.

Cheers guys

They really are beautiful minis, and you are doing them justice

I love the Army Painter primers, i got one of the red ones for Christmas (more blood red than mecharite) It will save me a ton of time and brush marks on my vehicles

I did have to steal one of your quotes for my sig though

Thanks M0rdain!

Yeah, their primers are the bee's knees

I got the idea from when I remembered about seeing a fan-made picture that someone sent in to Mantic, with an Elf holding a skull with the quote "Alas, poor Yorick, I knew him well".

Well, I saw one of the zombies that I had primed, and though of it. However, I couldn't remember the exact words, and so I then Googled it to see what I could find. As I was typing in "Alas, poor Yorick", Google gave the suggestion of: "Alas, poor Yorick, I ate his brains". Obviously, it's someones own version of the famous line of literature. Try it yourself!

Anyways, I really appreciate the quote in your signature!

Just to let you know that I haven't forgotten about Warpath:

Here's a close up of one of the silver Elves, less of a blur than before:
