This would never really happen, because Tau would never assault, but I ran out of the clear flying sticks so I had to improvise. So here's Johnny 5 accidentally ninja-kicking a Space Wolf. They both look kind of surprised.
Don't you just hate it when that happens! There he was, wondering through the everglades minding his own business and nursing a killer hangover then . . . . WHACK!!
Sorry, no. I'm not feeling it, the painting is fantastic but the pose does not resemble the original "dynamic entry" thing at all. To me it looks like the Crisis suit has hovered down and just apparently noticed the SM that is caught under his foot, his posing seems to give the impression of the bit in Shrek where he's got the arrows in his backside and wouldn't have actually noticed until someone pointed it out to him, not a screaming Chuck Norris roundhouse kick to the face of the SM like the original.
TL;DR
Fix the posing and it'll be fine.

Straighten his right arm so he's pointing the guns at the marine to give just :that: bit extra. Although i understand that it can't be done since its already painted.
You could strap a pantsless ork on something and make it look Imperial with enough Aquillas and Purity Seals. -Da Butcher

I haven't ever seen the "Dynamic Entry" thing until now. If I had been trying to emulate that, then I would have. My Tau is supposed to be looking just as surprised as the Space Marine that he's kicking him, like the nerdy kid on the playground who swings at the bully and accidentally breaks his nose.

Which would work were the model in question in some kind of kicking pose. As you said in the OP, the SM was literally an afterthought, and the Crisis suit is not posed as such as to be interacting with him in the way you intended. I've seen a lot of you previous stuff and it is not beyond your skills to correct this and make it look much better.

painting is great on this one, only thing i think is odd is if you look in the dynamic entry poster you can see the suits left leg is bent to a natural pose, but yours seems like he is standing on his face, not kicking

Great idea. but I agree that iot could have been executed with more flair. Right now, it's not quite funny, and not quite cool, but somewhere in between. If the suit had tripped over the marine it'd be funny, and if it'd looked like it kicked him it would have been cool. Right now, I think it looks like it's a crisis suit glued onto a space marine.
Then again, if there had been photos from different angles it might be different.
That said, the painting is very good, and the space marine's pose is spot on.
The posing on the tau is really... passive. For what should be an action scene he just kinda looks like he's just kinda suspended in air. Particularly its the leg that he's not kicking with that looks really out of place, just kind of hanging out there, in a standing position rather then an action one. It needs to, at the least, be bent at the knee. The suit itself is pointing straight up as well, which doesn't really convey any sort of motion.
Other then that its a really wonderful mini, the paint is great, a bit straightforward but I think the look suits the tau, very clean (in a good way) and I like the color choice, very military. And the base looks good without taking attention away from the models.
Love it! Exelent colours and painting.
First impression was the classic arcade "space invaders", those ships jus zooming down slow untill they kill you.
But now, look at the base! waterlilly pond? what the heck was the Space Wolf doing by a waterlilly pond?!

This is hilarious, we need more Tau like this!
HAH! SVEN! YOU REMEMBER THE TIME THAT TAU BATTLESUIT JUMPED ON YOUR FACE? *HOWLS*
*sven silently mopes in the corner... eventually curling up and going to sleep on his wolf rug*
