Well here it is.. (not promising anything SPECTACULAR as I have little to no painting experience)

Not to mention this camera does NO justice for them at all. D;

CONSTRUCTIVE criticizm is welcome, as I only have 1 of 5 done so far.
Please don't just be like "WOW YOU SUCK"
but instead, something like.. "Well (insert mistake here) is a little (insert adjective here). To fix it up a bit, try (insert suggestion here)"

I'm getting a huge necron army for christmas and this is the colour scheme I have decided to revolve them around ^.^

They look decent, only issues seem to be the green cables which while looking rather clean also look a little flat. Maybe add a wash or something to add some definition. That bayonet also looks somewhat out of place, though I'm not all too familiar with the new Necrons. Other than that good job.

I'll try the wash.. I did it on the one in the back because it had ridges.

I tried to make the bayonet look bloody but I think I made it look a little too "clean cut"

I think it's a great model for an inexperienced painter. My only advice would be as already mentioned tone down the cables & add a little more shading & weathering to the overall model as Necrons have been around for centuries. As for the bayonet try starting w/ a dark brown color & then apply a thinned coat of red & allow it to dry then wash w/ gryphonne sepia.

For a first model it's pretty good. As others have said a wash will do wonders for the model, and a drybrush for highlighting edges with a lighter colour will give instant depth.

Another thought...Greenstuffing around the gaps on the shoulder pads will also do a lot for the models. It's a great way to get used to sculpting without really putting much effort in as well as making the model look tons better.

Aside from the neat blood i cant see anything wrong with the model paintjob wise. If it were me i would give the model a wash of badab black or devlan mud. But its very nice without it.

I like it!

It's a neat, clean and smooth paint job. It's a nice colour scheme aswell.

Maybe try out a few washes at some point as people have said but it's all good!

It's nice I'd try the following 2 things if they were mine:

- But some dark ink in the recesses like those of the gun nozzle
- Shade the green cable

Asides from that it's solid work

Good overall colour scheme. I like the red/gold/metal thing you have going on there. Would not say you have made a single mistake, but there are some opportunities for improvement.

Things I would do to make them look even better.

Use a wash to add shade, but do it lightly. Don't just slather it on, use it more like a paint and just try to paint the recesses with it.

Use a lighter tone of the colour to add a sharp edge highlight, if you have used "Boltgun metal" or "Chainmail" for the silver areas, run a thin line around the most prominent edges with "Mithril Silver" to make them shine.

Paint the area around the chest symbol the same colour as the shoulder armour, leaving the symbol itself gold. This area could also be painted a different shade to represent a squad designation.

you can also either a) fill the join in the shoulder plates, then re-paint the plates to hide the join, or b) make them into a feature by hard edge highlighting the edges between them.

I would also consider painting the cables so that they are darker at the edges and lighter in the middle of their length, or darker at the edges and centre, but lighter between. This will represent the flow of energy as they charge to fire.

Have you considered painting the stripe down his head the same colour as the shoulder armour? This could also be used as a squad identifier, different shades showing which squad a particular model belongs to, as I suggested with the area around the chest symbol. This area would be more visible, so use this if you want to be able to quickly and easily identify squad members. Use the chest symbol if you want something altogether more subtle.

I like the look, and it's painted nice and neatly. Good work for a first model!

I'm not so sure about the diversity in the colour scheme - Silver, Gold, Black, Red, Dark Green and Light Green are all large 'blocks' of colour. I'd remove, say, the light green, and replace it with one of the other colours. In fact, painting the light green cable the same way you paint the dark green gun barrels would give a good visual link between the 'power' elements of the gun and the 'housing' bits.

A general Badab Black wash all over would probably give you a bit more depth.

Basing it, even very simply, would also bring the model together. Since you already have two primary colours in the model, go for something neutral like brown or grey. I guess mid/pale brown might work best since you already have so much silver in the model - something like Vermin Fur or Calthan Brown. Painting the base is very simple, but topping it with similarly coloured ballast (fine gravel) would add a lot more, and is also very easy to do.

Absolutely correct, I'll add something to the "basing" reference:
It is also required for a Post in the P&M Showcase.

Emphasis mine.

I don't want to be human! I want to see gamma rays! I want to hear X-rays! And I want to - I want to smell dark matter! Do you see the absurdity of what I am? I can't even express these things properly because I have to conceptualize complex ideas in this stupid limiting spoken language! But I know I want to reach out with something other than these prehensile paws! And feel the wind of a supernova flowing over me! And I can know much more! I can experience so much more. But I'm trapped in this absurd body!

I disagree with the suggestions on the wires. I think you should brighten them up even more. Add a few layers of white and green mixed to make it look like its glowing. I might add a wash on the body of Gryphia Sephoria or Badab Black personally. Love the scheme and nice clean paint job.

Take a look at this guy's ghost ark and the back where the engines are, I think a nice glowing green would really make it look sharp.

Just because you said it I must.
WOW IT SUCKS.....
But on a more serious note it looks amazing. i would leave the bayonet like it is. it makes it look like its been used and dried. as for basing it i find that slate chips works great and only need to have clear seal on.
And just out of curiosity do you have any of your Dark Eldar done?

You should increase the use of red and gold, make it look like Iron Man.

I used red on my Necrons, check them out on my blog

I actually have only 6 wyches done out of my whole 2000 point army
I have a looot of work to do with those xD
And since they were the first models I ever painted.. they're less than amateur
I'm planning on fixing them up a bit, and possibly posting them on here for some suggestions as well

Nice work! Are you leaving the bases bare? I would do a wash on the wires coming out of the gun to give them more depth (i know others would lighten it up, but i guess its an opinion thing). I don't know what color red/orange you used, but it really brings out the model and will make it distinctive on the table! If you are interested in doing blood, perhaps some pva glue with red foodcoloring to simulate blood dripping off the blade?

Calm down folks. There's always someone wanting to be rude to get a response and always someone wanting to white knight any female on gamer forums. Half the time that's the reason for the troll.

Ahem, to the model.
The Necron itself looks fine. As others have stated, give it a wash. You also definatily want to base the models, and I'd recommend doing that first (before painting the model) as painting/drybrushing sand can get messy.

The weapon looks way too busy with all of those colours. Try bringing it back to one main colour with another colour for details and at most one more for a fine accent.
- Think of a bolt gun painted in gunmetal with a red casing and a tiny gold eagle on the casing.

I agree mostly... i think that she should add red to the gun , but just for accents. The majority should be champagne and silver. i think the black and green should be taken out. But it still looks really awesome :3

Yeah, the exact colours weren't the key part of the example - it was the way that they're used.
