It might be a bit early but I did a bit of GS job on my model...
I have never used GS before, but I thought that I would never learn if I never try... so here it is...

good work on the greenstuff, but you need to use thinner paints, primer them white instead due to the colors you are trying to achieve.

not bad. Make the corners a little more distinct, and use a reference when you sculpt the folds. Otherwise, it looks alright.
I'm sorry man, but your painting really isn't doing you any favors, especially if you're trying to show off your GS skills

I'd say for you first attempt at green stuff, it came out pretty well. I can see the general "billowing in the wind" effect. There are some great tutorials on the site for sculpting robes. I'm a novice GS sculptor as well, with only about 10 attempts under my belt, but mine came out really well. Check this one out here, it helped me quite a bit.
Since it has been brought up I would second going with thinner layers on your painting but don't let me or anyone else get down about your painting, that's not what we're trying to do, everyone has to start somewhere. There are lots of excellent articles around here for those too. Keep at, practice makes perfect buddy.

That tutorial helped me out alot, this was my first attempt:

You should thin out the edges at the bottom, and try to create a bit more folds. Also the green stuff needs to be flattened and be a little more smoothed at the top.

The greenstuff looks fine. I thought the pics were 'before' pics, and I was all aggravated when I got to the bottom of the page and was all "What the hell?! Where's the finished product?"
Take that for what it's worth.

Thanks for all the responses,
It was hard for me to thin out the white paint because the models were primed in black, and thinned out white wasn't looking so great.
Shoud I put a take over light colored details when priming with black next time?

Lighter colors such as white and yellow are tricky at best and especially difficult when done on a dark base color, such as black primer. If you don't have any white or grey primer, then you should build up to the lighter color.
So starting from the black primer, you could go with dark grey, followed by light grey, before finishing with a few coats of thinned white paint, just as an example.

Thanks for such great advice
I do have a white primer, but I primed my models because... well because they were BT's... well, I'm not great at this stuff... yet!
is it okay for me to just prime the whole thing white, or should I prime the dark parts black and light parts white?

I do my Raven Gurd in black then paint the areas to be white in codex grey before putting white coats on.
I would recommend that you thin your paints so that you don't get such a rough finish. You will find painting a LOT easier if you do.
Considering that you are just starting out you have done a good job for the technique you have used.
You will be surprised what you can achieve with GS using a pin, a set of sewing needles and an unpicking tool. Ask your matriarch if they have spares.
