Hey dakka, actully just finished assembling the fw suits.... (damn things) But Ive completed assembly.

I will deffo be keeping an eye on this thread as i am in a similar boat would be nice to see some 'better' WIP Tau as mine are somewhat basic atm

Ok, so I havent posted in forever cause the suits were hell to put together... but alas, I have succeded. Im now adding in progress of my Salamanders! Heres some pics of everything.

hey guys where did that salamander cape come from? i have seen a few armies lately with lots of those capes bt cant find a source for them.

Commander needs more railguns.

Not a big fan of OTT mods of battlesuits like you've done, but that's just me. I do like the paint scheme you've chosen for the FW. It's got a nice urban feel to it.

I do have one other thing bugging me, though...are you going to straighten out the Broadside railguns? Just a pet peeve of mine when I get my resin parts in and they're not straight. By the way...did you acquire this over time, or was it a big purchase? Looks like you've got several hundred dollars of Forge World stuff there...I definitely am jealous! I love their Crisis suits, but I'm a bigger fan of the XV9s (they're a joy to build and paint, and they look awesome!).

Yeah ill straighten the railguns before painting. And the salamanders cape is from chaplain xavier. A oop model. And never to much Dakka. The salamanders sit at 8600 with upgrades. I got three rifleman dreadnoughts to add and an ironclad. The tau paint scheme was desired to be urban and inspired by mass effects geth character, legion.

And yes, I purchased the tau all at once. Not good for the bank. But I got my dream army.

Nevrah! All good fish heads know you can never have too many gunz.

No offence, but I don't like your Tu-shan conversion. Mainly because,
a) He barely ever wore power armour, even when he was chillin', he was in termie armour.
b) The helm, it ain't very Salamander-y.

However, thats just me. The rest is top notch!

This past month I've gottem a TON painted. Most is tabletop at the moment. I plan to touch everything up more when I get the whole army painted and based. About 75% of these guys are based. I tried weathering and OSL on the Rhino, Predator, and Land Raider. The Tau are sitting tight untill I get my Salamanders done.

I think the "light" effects are a nice touch.

Thanks. It was my first attempt at both lighting and weathering. I drybrushed alot of it. I need a new camera, whenever I take pics it makes the model look shiney, they realy arent. Its looks much better in person. Or maby thats just me. I have begun progress on painting my Tau. The urban grey camo has been scraped due to the allies rules being brought back. So, more green! Im writing narative for renegade Tau aux. troops with the Nocturne Planetary defense force. Trying to make it as believable as possible. Working quite nicely. I plan to add a large amount of guardsmen (Defiance panzergrenadiers) and heavy walkers (probbly from Dust tactics) as leman russ. Hopefully the panzergrenadiers come out soon. They said early June and its half way through July.
