Ok very curious here and went threw several pages of the forum to see if anyone else had started this but now that defense lines, bastions and such are availble to players with just about any army what are people going to use? For example, tau or necrons wouldnt use the Imperial Duttinpefense Lines or their weapons. Certainly not either type of of Eldar. Chaos and Orks could simply loot them. So if your planning on building some Alternate Defense LInes for your non imperials out there what are you planning.

For my ORKs I use the GM Ork Barricades and moded some to be the right proportions and kit bashed a quad gun for the 'quad gun" and a zap gun for the laser. For a bastion im thinking of making and ork stompa have the top 'blown off'.

I'll be making Dark eldar Drop / Assault ships for a Bastion / Fortress.

Though I must say, I like the look of those shield lines.

@Flinty: Those are some great-looking flak tanks. What model are they made from?

@NimbleJack - The Interceptor emplacement is from Puppetswar. They are effectively the alternate Razorback turret mounts that Puppetswar do for TL lascannon and the new TL assault cannon one, but you can also get them with a nice little self propelled carriage mount. So I did

I only have the one carriage, but both of the turrets fit nicely into the mount.

I'm using war of the ring bases, green stuff, and foamboard to make ruined walls, which will be proxied as aegis lines.

If I can find a good deal on eBay, I plan on making an Aegis defense line made entirely out of Imperial Guardsmen for my Dark Eldar.

I'm firmly of the belief that the Dark Eldar defences should be temporary emplacements, made from fast-moving things.

I.E. - I'm thinking about making the Aegis lines out of parked Reavers.
The Bastion will be a smaller assault-craft and the Fortress will be a larger assault-lander.

I'm going to have a go at an idea for an Eldar alternative tonight. I'll post how it goes.

You could probably fashion a decent defence line out of Ghost Ark bits. You could even use the big honking gun as an Icarus emplacement.

There is an infinity terrain piece that has a "force field" look to it between two pillars, made with glowing acrylic/Perspex stuff..

I would just make some foam-board pillars/corners, buy some fluro colored acrylic, and have at it, and aegis wall can be a "force field" too..

Green for necrons, I dunno... Blue for eldar? You get the idea...
(for anyone that doesn't know what I mean, it's the same glowing green plastic that necron warriors have in the weapons, but instead of a rod, it's a flat sheet, you can cut to size..

Many online based suppliers around the world... Just a thought, it's what I plan to do...

For anyone that can't get the fluro acrylic, or doesn't like too bright a colour, an old modelers trick is to take a wash or an ink onto clear acrylic to tint it to your desired colour...

I was thinking about this most of the day.

I have some left over tesla guns from the CCB / Anni Barge kit I was considering using as Quad Gun counts-as but the actual aegis line is giving me trouble.

I thought about forice field "esque" types like the eldar one but I think I would be happier with something that looks more robotic or "tomby". The Ghost ark suggestion seems promising but if anyone has other input I'd be happy to read it.

honestly - for crons... just make long, low monolith-on-their-side type things, taking inspiration from the Dawn of War 'cron buildings.

Ok I'll post pics soon, but Im taking half shields from Lychguards (cut with saw down middle of circle in front) gives one long piece and one small. Using the large pieces for the larger parts of the wall smaller part for smaller. Clear plastic sheeting for the walls itself.

Here is a modified plan for the Eldar Aegis Line. I'm also working out a Bright Lance Quad Gun. I'll post something on that when I have something to post.
