Trying something different than the typical Green dark angels. Here are a few of my completed mini's from the Dark Vengeance box set.

Aren't the robes the camouflaged bit so they would be the bit you could not see, it would however be equally confusing to see a set of floating space marine arms in the ruins.

Looks good, could use a bit of a wash to help define the model a bit.

Ty for all the comments and i have to agree the sergeant with the shoot me pole does look a little funny in the pic the model in person looks better. Hard to get a good pic of something you can't see

I think it's a cool concept, maybe not pulled off quite as well as it could be, though. I would:
1.) Do away with the dark green (maybe OD for guns, but thats it. And a tan color would probably work better)
2.) Pick a 4th solid color, not in the camo scheme, to paint the large iconography (wings, feathers, helmets maybe, etc) Again I would probably go with OD green or a desert tan.
3.) Limit the camo to either the Power Armor or robes.
4.) Change the shapes in the pattern to more geometric, hard edged camo (Large digi-cam, or berlin style)
That's about it, highlighting and shadows aren't even something I would be comfortable trying with a scheme that complex, but they would add greatly. I'm not trying to berate your work or anything, when I saw it I instantly liked it and the ideas just started flowing. I see you are new to the site and I hope you will stick with this army; watching your skills progress with such a unique scheme will be very interesting. Welcome to Dakka, btw!!! Keep up the good work

I think it is beautifully executed. Especially the termi, that looks like a walking tank.

However, I feel it do not fit either the fluff or the concept of SM.

Good pant job, but not on these minis. This would look good on some scouts or Imperial Guard.

It good camouflage alright. Can hardly see the terminator. It's not really my thing on space marines but it is pretty well done. Maybe a bit of a wash and then some subtle highlights would do a lot for it. But I'd leave it for ig or tau even.

Looks good but would work better for a non space marine army, as they forgo camo for the bright colors of their chapter deeming camo as cowardly, so i personaly would completely forgo camo in a space marine army with the exception of the scouts camo cloak.

the camo looks great and it would be perfect for a guardsman or tau army but again not so much for space marines much less dark angels, but their your models so more power to ya.

Interesting point, but honestly, that part of the SM fluff has always struck me as pretty silly. I have served in the armed forces and a lot of my friends still do, some of these guys are the bravest, toughest dudes in the world, but they don't wear bright primary colors when they are deployed. A dead soldier that is too proud to wear camo is worth far less than a live one with a little common sense.

Fluff issues aside, I love the dark green/urban camo mix, and while the advice is unsolicited, I think a little weathering powder or a thin ink-wash could bring up their appearance a little while adding a bit more "grit".

Regardless of what changes you chose to make (if any), please keep posting pics as this army progresses!

...Just great work.!

The fluff is there to support the game and the hobby, not the other way around!

I totally dig the terminator. It fits really well on him, I think becuase the model is nearly entirely camouflaged. The other guys probably should be as well. I think a wash of Nuln Oil directly into the recesses of your guys armor would help a lot (as other guys have stated.) Also would be nice to see them based. But otherwise, that Terminator is the prototype of how to pull this off best IMO.

Looks fantastic on the Terminator!!! It looks funny on the first pic though, I'd drop the green and just go urban camo, it looks sick!

I really like the Termi, I think the camo schme looks great, but I do think that the whole model should be done this way (on the others that is) and maybe one color more would really make it pop (for camo that is lol)

the dark gray is a krylon primer i found and as far as the colors i haven't used GW paints in quite some time. I have been able to find suitable replacements in Anita's and folkart paint lines at hobby lobby much cheaper that any GW paint and i get 3-4 times the amount of paint.

Camo doesn't really help a 7-8 foot tall Superhuman that's walking around in an incredibly heavy set of armor. Not to mention, you're not exactly one for subtlety when you're using a semi-automatic grenade-launcher. Space Marines don't use camo because, functionally, there's no point to it, it's dishonorable, and cowardly.

That being said, I'm not at all a fan of the scheme, though I will say you've executed it quite well.

P.S. Not to mentioned, his models are finished. He just didn't put basing materials on the bases in favor of painting them like urban streets.

It's a pretty interesting scheme, no doubt. But yeah, Astartes are hardly what I would call stealth in any sense, barring scouts. A camo Terminator alone is kinda nuts. But then again, if IG camouflages tanks....

Where's the fun if every model has to be fluff-specific? Whatever works for you bud.
