I got hold on some Warzomne miniatures that i would like to use as Imperial Guard.
They fit into Warhammer universe nicely but unfortunately the don't come armed with warhammer weapons.

So i did a small modification to their gun to bring it closer to lasgun.

Would you accept this as a lasgun in WYSIWYG games?

I will improve the looks on other models, this is just a test to see if i am going in the right direction.

I wouldn't have minded too much if you kept the original model. I tend to like the Warzone guys.

Personally, I use the guns for my Storm Troopers and their hot-shots.

That being said, your modifications look fine for lasguns.

Looking at that ..once its painted it will look good ..(I too am doing some conversions from warzone models)
What are you doing for heads ..since the Warzone heads are kinda dinky ..even for the warzone model ...
as cheap as the big bag o models from them is I will be outfitting two standard Infantry platoons ..( 80+ models each) and I am splitting the bags with a buddy of mine as he likes the trench helment uniform boyz better and i like the spikey head boys uniforms better so we are buying two bags each and trading the uniforms ...now i have to come up with enough heads for them ...

No problem, looks obviously more like a lasgun than anything else (you've managed to avoid the bolter look), so there's no confusion for you or your opponent.

As always with such counts-as models, point out to new opponents before games that 'these are lasguns', to avoid grumbles.

Looks great, but cut the magazines, they look too long for regular lasgun batteries.

i was thinking about magazines and i would cut them and glue little square of plasticard on upper half of it to get even closer to lasgun

@morfydd: i was thinking about some models with berrets, mostly from this site http://www.westwindproductions.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=126_149 or maybe
http://www.maxmini.eu/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=22_23&products_id=131.

Still deciding on it but the head are not priority atm. Probably the best way would be to make some custom heads and cast them but i don't have the necessary skill yet

Since autoguns=lasguns I'm not sure the chance in the barrel is even needed. Just remove the underbarrel grenade launcher.

That being said these look really good.

I like them as well.

And there are so many good head options on the market right now. Warzone plastics + conversion with greenstuff + head swap = great IG.

I don't see any reason it wouldn't be. If you're intending them for tourney play just consult a TO and they can give you a ruling.

Nothing wrong with keeping the grenade launcher on. Love it. And there's nothing wrong with the mag.

The only part of the lasgun that I really care about is the iconic tip. These have exactly that, and they look great.

Although the current one has only been around since 3rd Ed I believe. So there's like... 4 different flash suppressors that lasguns have sported. Besides, as was already stated, Las & auto weaponry are interchangeable in terms of profile in 40k in regards to small arms.

The people I play against accept my Warzone figures for IG. I use them for Stormtroopers, HQ vets and heavy weapons troops. No problems at all.

Sure, and for those who don't, from a fluff point of view there are so many versions of Imperial equipment floating round on so many planets that the sky's the limit when it comes to looks.

Driven away from WH40K by rules bloat and the expense of keeping up, now interested in smaller model count games and anything with nifty mechanics.

This looks perfectly fine, very good.

When you use WYSIWYG you need to know this usually applies to characters or big monsters. A Tyranid Carnifex that has been given two twinlinked devourers in it's army list should have them, or something that is specially made to represent them. If it has scything talons it will not do. But if it has two specailly made Tyranid-like guns then it is ok.

What WYSIWYG is about is making the game fair and fun so a basic Marine with a boltgun doesn't turn out to be a Captain with relic blade and a storm shield. An example is in my WHFB army I am going to use Hight elf Phoenix guard with Dark Eldar heads as Slaaneshi Chaos warriors. They will be ok because they will be converted a little and have the weapons I give them and pay for in my army list, big axes, halberds in thsi case.

I say they look stellar. There so many patterns of lasgun it's always easy to say that this is a regional variant. Though I would have just kept them standard and called them autoguns, as the two have long since been interchangeable on the tabletop.

This. I gave a few of my Guardsmen P90s, but they're obviously counting as lasguns... what else could they be? Also long as it's standard issue on the model, then you're in the clear.
