Orks took on Nids in this dirty fight.
“The Octavius system massacre”
Nids
Orks
Pregame
Nids rolled higher and chose to go first.
Terrain and objectives:
4x4 map, objectives can be seen as small plastic Xs. The Nids rolled higher and got 3 objs, the Orks 2.
The Nids placed their 3 objs quite centrally in the middle of the map, one at a crater another at a hedgerow and the last behid an aegis line.
The Orks placed both of their in the ruins near their DZ.
Nids deployment and plan:
The Nids plan was to try and take and hold the 3 central objectives they had placed and perhaps ninja cap one of the Ork ones using the Ymargls or massed Termagants.
The Warriors and Tervigon were to provide synapse across the Nid lines.
They setup quite centrally and balanced ready to try and adapt to where the Orks might deploy.
The basic plan was to soften up the massed Ork units with shooting and then charge with the harder hitting Warriors.
The Ymargls chose the small ruin in the Ork on the right flank, hoping to pressure the Ork objs early.
Orks deployment and plan:
The Lootas deployed in yhe bunker on the left flank. This provided good cover and battlefield
LoS and they would try and nuetralise the Primes unit.
The Bikers delployed on the right flank to target the Tervigon and Terms.
The basic plan was to hold their two home objectives (the reliable Grots tasked with holding one) and then to swarm foward and take one or two of the others.
Their firepower was quite good so a shooting match was welcome Vs te Nids and with several scoring units the objectives could be taken more easily. The Shoota units and Warboss deployed centrally en masse.
The Orks failed to sieze and the game began.
Nid turn 1.
Movement:
The Tervigon spawned 12 Termagants starting the game off and then moved forward 6” with both Termagant squads accompanying it.
The Devilgants ran forward to the central crate for cover and to claim an obj early.
The Prime and his unit ran 9” to the hedgerow for cover, claiming another obj.
Both the Biovores and 2nd Warrior unit moved up also.
Shooting:
All Biovores targetted the forward most Shoota unit but missed, scattering harmlessly.
Orks turn 1.
Movement:
Shoota mob one ran into the ruins where the 2nd Ork obj was.The 2nd mob with Warboss moved up behind the aegis line for cover whilst the 3rd Shoota unit ran left to try and target the Primes unit.
The Deffdread moved to support them.
The Bikes stayed on the right flank moving 12” into the ruins where the Ymargls had hidden thmeslves and passing their
DT tests.
Shooting:
The first Loota unit opened up on the Primes unit causing one wound. The second unit could not see them so shot the Terms behind the aegis line instead. Causing 8 wounds the Terms chose to go to ground (forgot they were in Synapse range) and only lost one.
The Bikers then shot at the same unit causing 4 more casualties.
Nids turn 2.
Movement:
The Ymargls rolled for reserves and unluckily arrived, being instantly destroyed due to the presence of the Bikers in the ruins.
The Tervigon again chose to spawn, creating 11 more Terms but with a double 4 became exhausted.
Both the Terms units and Tervigon then moved to shoot and assault the Shoota unit in the ruins at Ork obj 2.
The Prime unit reshuffled slightly whilst the other Termagant unit took up position in the ruins behind them.
Shooting:
The Termagants opened up on the Orks in the ruins who chose to go to ground losing two.
The Devilgaunts, Warriors and Tervigon then also shot at them. The barbed strangler missed but they managed to kill another 6 in total.
The Primes unit then shot the Orks behind the aegis line killing two. Finally the Biovores shot at the same unit but scattered and missed.
Hand to hand:
The Tervigon backed by the Termagants charged the weakened Ork unit in the ruins. Overwatch killed 6 Terms as they charged. The Orks struck first killing another 9 Terms in combat for the loss of 3. The Nids held though due to fearless.
Orks turn 2.
Movement:
The first Bikers left the ruins they had been in, failing a
DT test as they went and losing one. They then failed their morale test and fled 16” backwards!
The second Bike unit moved to shoot/assault the backfield Term unit.
The Warboss unit moved to engage the Tervigon and its Termagant brood, wary of the Orks there being ground down and unable to wound the Tervigon effectively.
The 3rd Boyz mob reshuffled behind the aegis line to shoot back at the Primes unit.
Shooting:
The Bikers opened up on the Termagants behind the aegis line near the Biovores. They chose to go to ground and took no casualties.
The first Lootas then opened up on the central Warrior unit, killing one whilst the second Loota unit shot the Primes squad, causing no wounds.
The Mob behind the aegie line also fired at them but caused only 1 wound.
Hand to hand:
The Bikers charged the Termagants at the backfield aegis line but with a disastarous roll of 4” failed to make the charge.
The central combat saw the Tervigon and Termagants only kill 2 Orks whilst they lost all Termagants in return and the Tervigon also suffered two wounds.
At this point the score stood at:
Nids turn 3.
Movement:
The Primes unit moved to assult the Orks behind the aegis line whilst the backfield Termagant unit and Biovores moved to assault the Bikers.
The central Warrior unit moved into the crater for better cover.

The Prime unit supported by the Termagants on the right flank then shot the Boyz behind the aegis line, killing 5 of them. Another 3 from that unit fell as the central Warriors also targetted them.
The Devilgaunts opened up on the Bikers too, killing one but passing their morale check.
Hand to hand:
The Biovores and Termagants both charged the Bikers unit. Both sides caused one wound only and the combat was drawn.
The Warboss and his unit then charged the remaining Tervigon, causing another wound on it for n losses but it held.
The Prime unit just made the charge into the Boyz behind the aegis line. Overwatch caused no wounds but in combat the Orks caused 6! wounds for the loss of 4. The Nids lost but held due to fearless.
Orks turn 3.

Nids turn 4.
Movement:

The central Warriors shot the Boyz atop the ruins at Ork obj2 but failed to cause any wounds.
The rest of the Nid units had either ran or were in
HtH.
Hand to hand:
The Bikers finally caused one wound on the Biovores who held.
The Deffdread finished off the remaining Warrior instgibbing him too and consolidated 3” towards the Terms at the hedgerow.
