I'm gonna be gathering an IG army at some point, probably Cadian being the bulk of it.
Wanna see what custom colour schemes other people have come up with, not the usual camo green thing.

Well mine are green and camo, but not Camo Green

I did a dark grey ragged scheme for my penal guard. They live on a night world/prison world Arxius II, and the mordian models act as the prison guards, while the catachans are the penal legionnaires/veteran troopers. The scheme isn't the best, but I can paint a full 6 squads in a day. (Two layers of grey drybrushing, plus bone, flesh, metal, then a heavy devlan mud wash)

I like them both!
See I was thinking black/grey/dark sorta SS Stormtroopers look (without that meaning to sound bad), doing the cadians as regulars and catachans as veteran thing. Or the other end of the spectrum, really bright kind of like British empire period stuff.

They maybe green but they are also heavy on the custom side.

I really have a problem with leaving anything stock, it's a disease

as far as what you want to do with your guard, pick your favorite war movie or book or TV show or what have you, and base your IG off that. heck it doesn't even need to be a war movie, it could be any kind of military or paramilitary force you like. that's what I love about guard, they're so versatile.

I like alot of the color schemes shown here. But no one has any segways! :0)

That's not far off what I was thinking Ribon, dark with like scab red bits so they fit with my Space Wolves well :-D

The color scheme might not be much of a help, because its to get the enemy to pay attention to the guard while my Iron Warriors ready their artillery.

My old IG army. Based on the British Berlin Brigade of the 1980s with their urban chamo scheme.

Wow I just had to say it. That is some of the coolest guard I have ever seen. Even though the paint job isn't "eavy metal", no offense Freakazoitt, It just looks awesome, different, and cohesive. Totally reminds me of the old fashioned guard back when I first saw my brother playing about 10 years ago. Very nice. Everyone else, nice job too. Its cool to see that the guard can have some diversity.

Alathia, those are some amazing models. I love the guradsman running with the mortar shells. I hear him yelling "Come over here, I'll morta ya" in an old timey Chicago gangster accent.
