Part I can be found here

"Sir, distress beacon signal locked in. Coordinates 3-0-3, 0-5-1. It looks like they are still wearing their power armor. Vital signs poor, heartbeats irregular. They are severely injured"

The Chaplain's eyes glowed red from the depths of his ceremonial skull mask.

"Good", he replied. "We move to rescue our brothers. But, more importantly, we move to destroy the vile automatons who would defile the Emperor's planet with their presence. For we are the earthly incarnation of His Holy Wrath." He removed an ornate brass key from around his neck and handed it to a nearby marine. "Brother Erasmus - unchain the Death Company".

The Scenario - The Relic, Hammer and Anvil deployment. In the previous battle, the Necron managed to phase out and kidnap two Flesh Tearer marines, but the battle brothers escape and activate distress signals. With the Necron hot on their heels, will the Flesh Tearers be able to rescue them in time?

The Forces

FLESH TEARERS

Reclusiarch w/ Hand Flamer

Assault Marines x5 w melta
Razorback w TLAC

Assault Marines x5 w melta, power sword
Razorback w TLAC

Assault Marines (Jump) x10 w 2 melta, power fist

Death Company x5

Assault Terminators

Land Speeder Typhoon

Sanguinary Priest

THOKT DYNASTY

Overlord w/WS in CCB

5 Immortals in NS
10 Warriors in GA
10 Warriors on foot

3 Wraiths

2 Anni Barges

1 Monolith

The board and Necron deployment

"The Relic" - the two escaped Space Marines (note that these are tactical marines for your future reference in finding them throughout the batrep)

The Flesh Tearer and Necron Forces face off

Top of Turn 1, the Necron advance, but find nothing in range of their advanced weaponry

Bottom of Turn 1, the Flesh Tearers advance, and find ripe targets in range of their Twin Linked Assault Cannons

The assault cannons open fire and penetrate the nuclear core of an Annihilation Barge, causing it to explode

Top of 2, the Necron push up the field, getting dangerously close to the escaped Space Marines

And they open up with some fire of their own, destroying one Razorback and stripping all but one hull point from the other two

Middle of 2

The Flesh Tearers push forward, ever closer to their beleaguered brethren. The assault cannons open fire once more, finding their mark!

End of Turn 2, Necron Battle Barge is a smoking crater

Top of 3, the Wraiths move to threaten, and Necron weaponry fires to devestating effect, destroying one more Razorback. Worse yet, Necron Warriors take control of the escaped Space Marines!

And the final Razorback is wrecked, forcing the marines inside to disembark

The Land Speeder jinks out of the way of the fusillade! Very close call! The Wraiths position themselves for a charge next turn

Bottom of 3, the Assault Marines strike from the skies! Unable to charge this turn due to climbing from the wreckage of their transport, the Death Company position themselves, daring the Wraiths to charge.
Meanwhile, assault marines charge the Necron Warriors controlling the wounded marines and cut them down!!

You're safe with us! The Flesh Tearers take control of the escaped Space Marines!

Top of 4, the Annihilation Barges reposition and down the Land Speeder

The Wraiths foolishly take the bait and charge the Death company, losing one to overwatch fire, and another to the furious rage of the insane Space Marines.
But they do manage to obliterate two marines with the impact of their great bulk
Overlord Thutmos charges and kills two Assault Marines

Bottom of 4, the Flesh Tearer Assault Terminators finally arrive, but scatter badly
The jump pack marines charge the Overlord but lose the combat and fall back!

Top of 5, Overlord Thutmos continues his rampage, flying by and beheading a marine with his glowing scythe! The Flesh Tearers lose control of the objective!

Meanwhile, the surrounded marines feel the power of arcing Tesla weapons!

Bottom of 5, the jump marines get their revenge, destroying Overlord Thutmos' chariots with their melta guns!

The Overlord is charged from all sides. A Flesh Tearer sergeant armed with only a power sword, seeking honor, accepts a challenge! Against all odds, he slays the Overlord!
The Space Marines regain control.

Top of 6, and it is still anyone's battle! The Flesh Tearers have only a handful of Troops left, but the Necron are in poor position to size the objective!

The Immortals disembark

They unleash hell on the Flesh Tearers, slaying the remainder of the jump squad! The Marines lose control of the objective once again

The Warriors and the Monolith focus the entire might of their arcane weaponry at the final Space Marine squad, but the Emperor protects the sergeant!!
He is the final Space Marine troop on the board!

Bottom of 6, the sergeant grabs his wounded brothers and prays to the Emperor for deliverance from the maelstrom!

The die is rolled and the game ends!

The Emperor hears his prayers! A Thunderhawk gunship arrives and mows down all nearby Necron. The Sergeant and his cargo board the ramp and take off into the skies!

Flesh Tearers win!

For now...

In the aftermath of the battle, the Flesh Tearers are unable to account for the whereabouts of two slain marines...

The Necron will get what they came for.

(These batreps are a TON of work, so if you like what you see, please let me know! Thanks!)

Great report! Shame you gave so little praise/responses for it tbh. I loved the armies really well done, however my favorite part was how easy it was to read and follow. I think you had the perfect amount of story to put the battle into context. Additionally YAY! Win for the marines PLEASE do more i loved it!

Very well written, nice armies, well painted and close call!

Brilliant battle report...I really like the pictures. The SM models put my Blood Drinkers to shame. I need to get some units finished.

Very enjoyable! My only criticism is that you do not play a daily battle and write a daily report of similar quality (perhaps life is not 40K exclusively?)

Great battle report!

I especially like the board you were using, very simple although very good looking!

But you also seem to have forgotten including the Death Company in your army list.

I would really like reading more of these!

@HerbaciousT
Assault cannons are rending, if you roll a 6 for penetrating you get to add another D3 to the amount. So you can theoretically get a result ranging from 13 to 15.

Great job all around. Thanks for the time and effort putting it together, you guys are a shining example of the hobby.

I wish we had more eye candy like this with painted armies and good terrain. It's a shame that the proxied and unpainted batreps have such strong support.

Keep up the good work.

I agree, this is why I am starting to lean toward soft scoring making a return. Though I hear it's a mess judge fairly at large events. Regardless it is nice to see all sides of the hobby represented fairly instead of just the gamy side.

Still wanting more close ups of you guys armies.

I really enjoyed this batrep. I will definitely read anything else (should you guys choose to produce) you guys make. The armies and board look amazing- even better that everything is fully painted. I like how there wasn't 3 paragraphs of overwhelming narrative back story. It wasn't too little either. You hit it right on the spot which made it very enjoyable. Thank you and keep it up!

I wish we could see the Venus Plague again! That was a great storyline we were working on. Unfortunately, the Warlord of the Venus Plague produced an offspring about four months ago, and I haven't seen much of him since! Hopefully we'll get around to more batreps, but I am guessing the pace will be maybe once or twice a year.

Thanks for all the kind words, guys! Really makes me feel good.

Again, great report. The tense, could-go-either-way games are always an exciting read. Extra Kudos for the sgt killing the Overlord and for twice beating a top tier army with what's supposedly the "worst codex in 6th ed".

Good game.

Thanks! Yeah, neither of us were bringing particularly powerful lists, and we are playing in a spirit of telling a story rather than trying to stomp each other. But I hear what you are saying - I don't buy into a lot of the power ranking hype. I am surprised to hear that BA are considered the worst codex in 6th, because that isn't my experience with them at all.
