Wow September already!

Yay for school.... am i rite?!

Haha so any way... what are your vows? It's to study harder and set the hobby aside right? haha... (actually maybe some of you are doing that huh?)

Well for those of you still at it with the modeling stuff in light of academics starting and what not, what are your goals for this month?

Here are mine:

1. Redo one of my Land Raider Crusaders so its got the MAGNETZ!!!!
2. Build 2 more Razorbacks w/ Twin-Linked Lascannons
3. Build another Land Raider Crusader (w/ MAGNETZ!!!)
4. Get my airbrush workstation established (got the brush... just waiting for the airbrush ventilation booth thingy and respirator... i probably should get some tarps or something to cover the walls).
5. Get my Dark Angels infantry that are to be green basecoated as such.

Stretch Goals:
6. Basecoat Deathwing Terminators
7. Basecoat Ravenwing Bikes
8. Basecoat Vehicles

The last main goal plus stretch goals will depend on if I get my airbrush figured out... this will be my first airbrush.

Off to uni, want to get my army in some kind of order.

Base coat the following:
Land Raider
Vindicator
3 rhinos
thunderwolves
fenrisian wolves
20 grey hunters

Add atleast 2 colours to all power armour
Add colour to wolves and vehicles
Finish Bran Redmaw conversion, including conversion o the redmaw.

Cry?

lucky for me, school was almost 20 years ago :p

goal for this month is to get my predator painted up. it's going to be tight, as I'll be traveling for about half the month. it's built and primed, though, so here's hoping!

My goal was to paint at least one tac squad. Now my goal is just to strip the paint off that tac squad. It's taking longer than I thought it would. If that gets done in the next day or two, then my goal will still be to paint at least one tac squad and stretch goal would be to paint the second. Eh... let me do this up better:

September Goal
1) strip, prime two tac squads, land raider, two land speeders
2) Base coat two tac squads, landraider, two landspeeders three attack bikes, and about 15 bikes (assuming the air brush still works)
3) to paint up at least one of those tac squads.
4) to paint my SM commander

Stretch goal:
1) to paint a second tac squad.

I have a todo or die list as part of my P&M blog (in sig) that I had intended to get done by the first of December. But, since its just fifteen z-corp zombie marines left now (that is, after I spend another two hours to finish the last squad of standard corporation rangers, so close...), I feel confident that I can knock them all out this month barring "life-stuff" (tm).

In other words:
1.) paint 3 z-corp weapon teams and their custom bases (already primed)
2.) build 10 z-corp marines
3.) build 10 bases in the usual style
4.) paint 10 z-corp marines
5.) paint 10 bases
6.) figure out a new project to fill the October-November void before my Deadzone minis come in.

After a success in August, for September I am thinking at being courageous.

1) Finish Valkyries (FINALLY)
2) Assembled and Paint Dreadfleet
3) Finish 10 man DV tac squad

Decided to add some stretch goals (that may get done first depending on my mood)
1) Magnetize sentinels and last few marine vehicle bitz
2) Basecoat Black Templars and get them new codex ready

1) Paint my IG Command Squad
2) Paint my Cryx Battlegroup
3) Paint the Monsters and start the basing for the Player Characters from my Mansions of Madness Game.

Edit:4) Make a picture box, and a dedicated are to make a mess in, the wife is getting mad about some of my basing, and hijacking the Dinner table for photos and looking at figs in natural light.

1. Keep plugging away at Hissys Hive. Get at least one more batch of troops/other FoC done.
2. Paint the last 3 of my Mordian Iron Guard.
3. Base said Mordians/some SWs for tournament.

Finished my summer project! Despite a ridiculously hot garage and a terrible smell (which I think might be a dead mouse) I painted 150 Guard + assorting colorful HQ choices.

It was pretty tough going towards the end, don't think I'll ever paint another guardsman. The Emperor can paint his own damn Cadians next time.

Taking a week off and then Septembers vows will be:

- 3 Dark Angel Landraiders
- Finish my Space Wolves. 40 Grey Hunters, 10 Thunderwolf Cavalry and maybe a Landraider with FW doors I have lying around.

OKay, I'm going to have to amend this. It looks like the stripping process is going to be more involved than I thought. My new goal is:

1) Strip three full squads of tactical marines and assorted HQ elements, 2 landspeeders and some bikes.
2) Rebuild said marines with newer, better parts.
3) Prime marines.
4) Possibly strip, redecorate and prime land raider.
5)Basecoat all primed models with airbrush.

If all that goes according to plan, then I might paint something. We'll have to see. If that happens, my stretch goal would be to paint a tac squad.

1) Finish CSM Squad
2) Finish Possessed
3) 40 Cultists to paint.....

Loads of others but that's all that's being done in September, will be amazed if I manage to complete cultists

I guess the month is pretty well under way at this time, My goals are mostly FoW related.

Finish painting my PSC T-34s (not too much left to do on these)
Assemble and paint 5 SU-57s
Assemble and paint 7 BA-64 scout cars

Stretch goals:
Paint something from my Fantasy army. Possibly Empire free company.
Weather anything already painted with pigments

since the local FLGS is holding space marine related thingies, my goal is to get a Dark Angel Landspeeder vengeance, build the shrine into it, paint it hawk lords, then after Oct hawk the Hawk Lords out of it and make it into an SoB flying shrine. seriously.
1) do the Dark Angels Landspeeder into Hawk Lords, then in Nov turn it into a Sisters Shrine.

we also have a "Tanksgiving" game coming up Nov 16th, so my other goals will be the same from now until Nov and that is as follows:
1) finish detailing 3 Wave Serpents
2) finish and detail 1 Fire Prism,
3) start painting a 4th Wave Serpent from the primer up.
4) Prime and paint 2 Night Spinners
5) Prime and Paint a Hornet
6) get the danged FW turrets on all of my Wave Serpents
7) repair all my Eldar tanks ( they all have little things like fins and such that are broke off)
8) build new flying stands for all of my tanks (I hate the little plastic stem that GW gives us)
9) finish painting Audrey Two (for those who don't know who/what Audrey Two is, think Little Shop of Horrors as a terrain piece)
10) put pics of Audrey Two up on Dakka.

and i think that should keep me plenty busy for the next two months. crossing fingers and hoping that things go right and i actually get this stuff done.

T-34s are done (still might add some weathering pigments though)


SU-57s are partially assembled and primed.

1. Get my airbrush fixed - dropped the needle :(
2. Grab a few bits off ebay
3. Avoid visiting the forgeworld website till after uni finishes in November
4. Maybe try to at least remove some mould lines while studying?

I bought that black templar army off a guy who said he had it commissioned for him. I must find the man/woman responsible for this army!

Paint my grenadiers(note to FoW newbies-NEVER paint all your combat and weapon teams at once!)
Master my water effects-Fu- lightning is so hard to make!
Paint harbringer for my brother- or get him to paint it- yeah, thats a good one!

I vow to paint one squad of tac marines from my 4 year old battle box that I have never used before, prior to opening the brand spanking new space marine strike force box. After that, I don't dare vow to something else!

With 10-11 days left this month I still want to power through my zombies. 6 down 10 to go. We'll see.

Hobbytown was out of primer. Ben waiting till today to buy more, but I should have all of my models stripped and reprimed by the end of this weekend. Hopefully some basecoating will have happened by the end of the month.

Ugh... Start work on my water bases for my tau: Ideally have them all cut, and 1 really impressive base for my riptide.

i correct one of my vows, finish and detail 2 fire prisms, not one. fortunately all that needs done on the one is to repaint the green (which is now OOP) to a different green to match the rest of the army, and then go back over and touch up areas as needed. the crystal needed done as well but i finished it last night.

done! fully magnetized, so I can swap weapons and even run it in rhino mode, if need be:

2. Find a way to get the tail back on my metal Hive Tyrant
3. Convert a Tact. Sgt. to Captain Tycho
4. Find a way to make the Apothecary look cool... I don't even have a combi-melta for Tycho and this is the biggest challenge by far.
5. Give up on power weapon effect
6. Get extremely frustrated with all the fahking gants I have to paint after forgetting to buy spray paint

not gonna be able to live up to this particular vow, Money has suddenly become a SERIOUS issue. the rest of the vows are coming along nicely though.

The primer has come out all gritty. I don't know how I feel about this. It might have been conditions at the time outside, or the lingering residue of Dawn Power Dissolver. I'm considering putting everything on hold and dumping a couple tac marines in Simple Green for a few days to get the primer off and try again. Just to see.

Completed my BA-64 scout cars.


SU-57s are basecoated and have some highlighting.

Well I managed some of the list at least!

I got Dreadfleet assembled to the point of priming it (sails are off)
Sentinels are magnetized, only have a few mold lines to scrap and they are ready for the priming box.

I worked on BWG models mostly this month, so everything else got set back.
