So yeah, as I said, does anything else fall under this banner, y'know, besides Epic?

And that's it?

They're not killing off any of the 40K or Fantasy items?

From what I understand from speaking to Forgeworld mail-order earlier, the molds for most of the Epic lines have had it and need to be redone. There will therefore be a discussion as to whether it is worth redoing the molds. I imagine the answer would be no, given that they can sell more value in Vendetta upgrades in a week than their entire Epic line will do a in a year.

The timing is somewhat annoying - I had planned to order a Tau before the end of the year, but Crisis suits and Railgun Hammerheads have unfortunately now left the stage for good.

Arch I dont think this was a long term plan on GW's part. Epic and Arm are two different games played 2 different ways. Epic is more strategic and Arm is about removing mass amounts of models per game. The only real way to equalize out is to play on a garage floor to mimic the distances. I think this is more of GW trying to "Lean out" like most companies are doing. I think you will see more of this in the future with the other game sets once the models start to run out but this is just MHO and nothing more. The games that dont have some type of starter set will probably be the first to get shelved then re released in a year or two like talisman was.

I do what the voices in my wifes head say...

I'd swear that GW were trying to kill Epic long before Apoc came on the scene.

This sucks as it was Adeptus Titanicus/Space Marine that got me into 40K

Epic was my first real wargame after battletech. I think I cried when they made Epic 40,000, as it was the deathnell for GW's 3rd core system. Makes me want to cry right now just thinking about it. "I miss you Epic, I'll always love you!"

Then it shouldn't be a problem.

Well, except GW's Epic stuff is more expensive than FW's. Hilarious, innit?

Funny story: My local supermarket chain has started charging for plastic grocery bags, like 5c (technically 6c after tax!). And they have these signs up advertising the fact with the slogan "Because we don't want you to buy them!"

Lol! Well maybe you shouldn't buy them and just bring your own shopping bag? We have those in Holland...really handy. When I was in Peru they practically put every thing you bought in a different baggy. The amount of plastic waste that was left behind is just crazy!

Losing Epic isn't unexpected, but its sad. I've been trying to convince friends to play it with me for a while. Oh well.

It's not like we need GW/FW for models... One could always try to get proxies from other companies or try to scratchbuild some stuff.

I'm not entirely surprised at this decsision, in fact I'm surprised Epic from Forgeworld lasted as long as it did. Although I can smile to myself. My Steel Legion fully Mech army of which 99% of all the vehicles are from Forgeworld just doubled in value! I've also about £500's worth of FOrgeworld Epic buildings (including x2 of the catherderals) that also just increased in Ebay value.

After Space Crusade / Space Hulk, Epic was my 3rd GW game I purchased. Can't say I've played it too much (hard to find opponents) but I think it looks more impressive on a table than any other GW army, and takes a lot more skill to paint!

A bit of everything really....... Titanicus, Bolt Action, Cruel Seas, Black Seas, Blood Red Skies, Kingdom Death, Relic Knights, DUST Tactics, Zombicide the lit goes on.............

On the face of it that's the company's point. They also sell reusable cloth bags for something like a Canadian Peso each. But given the cost of the bags to produce/ship/retail/recycle (a fraction of a cent), and the fact that if they didn't people using bags that they wouldn't sell them, it's basically an ill-disguised attempt to gouge customers and sell it as "green".

I should second Malika's point: there's quite a few 1/300th scale manufacturers out there, some decidedly higher quality than GW (GHQ, for example).

I've noticed some of the first things to go are the things that GW also sell (but at a higher price).
Not that I'm suggesting a conspiracy or anything!

It's a pity because the GW models show their age compared to the Forgeworld equivalents which are excellent.
There may be other 6mm manufacturers but they'll always be almost-Space Marines and almost-Imperial Guard.

I really hope they redo the moulds.

It's interesting which items are still on the Epic section of the catalog and which have been removed.

Actually what is really fun is to play 5th Edition with Epic Miniatures. It's not difficult its actually rather fun.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.
