Hey all.
I'm creating a small force of crimson fists and of orks with which to have a nice little collection of each with, that could one day serve to expand into a playable army if I wish to persue them as such. It's for fun more than anything, and I decided i'd share my fun with you all

Here are pics of my finished Crimson fists thus far, sorry for the awful quality, had to move around in the house and lost my light box :(
(Orks are in the mail )

They look good, one minor detail you need to do though just to add is drill out the exhausts and rifle barrels. Just adds that little touch. 1mm for rifle 3mm for exhausts works

Anoher blog? This is what, the 7th now?

CF look great, especially the Tactical Marine. The only thing I'd suggest hitting the metal areas of the Dread with a black wash, it looks a little bright to me (might be just the lighting, though)

Good stuff, and Subbed!

The marines are excellent.

The dread strikes me as a little off. It might be the seem/mold lines on the AsC, or that the colors seem a little flatter, or something else I can’t put my finger on. He also seems to want a broader palette. With the exception of the fist, he’s very two tone. That might just be the lighting.

He’s not bad, just compared to the marines, particularly the sarge, he feels like he wants more.

Agree on the dread. He could really use some Crimson Fists iconography. He's got his own big red fist, but the Chapter symbol on each of his shoulders and on his sarcophagus would break up the blue. The seams on the Assault Cannon are pretty noticeable, but I also think it would look better with some different metallics (maybe brass on the barrels or something?) and some soot or heat purpling on the barrel ends as well.

He's nice and clean, but the dread has so many expanses of flat panels that the same paint job as the marines looks a lot starter on him.

Can't wait to see the orks!

Hey hey, so I've finally gotten my good camera back, and now I can take better photos of the dread to clarify a few of the questions regarding the metal and such. Looking now only do I realise I forgot to drill out the heavy flamer barrel after paintstakingly doing all of the AC ones D;
But yea, also 2 newly finished Crimson Fists on display, A command squad veterean (either with PP PF or PG depending on what I'm playing) and a HB tac marine

Tell me what you think, and thanks for the previous feedback guys!

Ooooh another marine corp for you, what will be the total points of all your marines once this lot is finished?

Behold! The first ork I have ever painted!
My ork shipment arrived a couple days ago, and let me say these guys are tough to paint, but quite rewarding.

Also included is a front shot with and without flash, just testing to see which one is better :\

Fists are looking spectacular. I do agree about the Dread though - he just needs something to break up those flat panels, and the mould lines are a bit distracting.

I really like the use of the Scions bits with the Crimson Fists. Your take on their colour scheme is really nice too.

I was wondering where that plasma gun was from. Saw it on an actual scion and agree that it works really well here on the marine.

Nice checks on the ork. The one thing that stood out on him is he really wants to be weathered a bit. He’s all dinged and scraped up, but with a fresh coat of paint. Now this might be the case, but orks are notoriously lax on gear maintenance, so it strikes me as a bit off.

Thanks all for the feedback. I may have to hit the dread with another wash.
Neve I see what you mean with the weathering. I may have to experiment (Though i'm a little scared to do so D

Anyway, Here's me first ork boy. Sorry for the questionable photo and cropping, awful weather made for a rushed wet photo whilst the rain stopped :(

Regardless, here he is. Tell me what you think!

Nice start for the force overall !

The Orks are quite good, what I especially like is how you managed to paint the blue tattoo / warpaint on the Nob !

As for the SM, I love the infantry, they clearly stand out as Crimson Fists ! As others though, not too sold on the Dread... Too plain, maybe ?

I'll be following this for sure

Ta-Da! Here he is, finally finished. First ork that i've weathered - to represent his durability of course, I will continue to weather my orks to a slightly lesser extent than Nob Tuff to show what Nevelon said earlier about my orks being too clean

Tell me what you guys think!

Very much this. Weathering is good and clean (somehow, that sounds backwards). Looking sharp. Particularly the claw- love the blood splatter. Once I saw you did that, I checked the base for loose heads. With blood that fresh, there are sometimes body parts nearby.

Do you have a size/force goal for this project? Going to do a display board? (The Farm!) Just wondering how far this is all going to go...
