Welcome to my Slaanesh Blog.... We will be starting off nice and simple, but things will no doubt start getting suitably weird soon enough.

So I have been meaning to create a Blog on my work on numerous Slaanesh themed armies however unfortunately due to my high work load from surprisingly work! The only time I have found to get started was yesterday, so thought I would share some WIP bits and bobs.


So this chap is actually just the Captain for a normal Detachment of Chaos Warriors, when I opened the box and made the first Captain I noticed he was incredibly plain and looked far too much like the rest of them for someone who is suppose to be on a Chaos Lords War Council, so I spiced him up a bit by invading my Girlfriends Bit's Box of Chaos and Now he looks sufficiantly fearsome!


This is the completed form of his Shield which I started and finished yesterday, essentially I was originaly just going for a Wooden Shield with Flayed Human flesh nailed too it... However after noticing the faces on it I could not help myself from making it look like the souls of the flayed humans were trapped in his shield. It came out really well and is unfortunately the only finish product


This is the back of the Captain, it is not yet finished but thought I'd show of his back Mounted Sword, the Fur is nearly/pretty much finished and I need to start doing the Layering on the Cape now it is Based and Washed, the Skulls still need washing and Dry Brushing obviously.


And this is just a front rank image to show off the Banner mainly, I borrowed the Slaanesh Icon from my Girlfriends 40k Chaos Box, she does Tzeentch so has no need for it (It was also her idea ).

As stated I have literally just started doing the whole Slaanesh thing, my original Armies were Dark Angels and Eldar and I've been in the hobby for probably about 4-5 Months now, I use to play Tyranids back when I was 14 but I never really got into Painting and quit after a few months when my School was banned from visiting the rival School (Who had the hobby club), now 8 years on I live in London and there is endless amounts of hobby clubs (Mainly in Pubs ).

The idea is to do Warriors of Chaos, Warhammer 40,000 Emperors Children and a Cult of Slaanesh Dark Elves armies eventually, I will be working on Kit Bashing, Conversions and I am meaning to dabble in Scratch Building (bought the supplies but as stated only time I've had was yesterday). I signed up for a Campaign yesterday which is a Good v Evil united Campaign so we all bring 1 Squad and a Lord and wage war against the forces of good which starts next weekend, so Hopefully I will finish 20 Warriors and a Lord by Saturday so I can rock onto my first game of Warhammer Fantasy.

I bought the stock Lord so that I can get him ready for the Campaign but I plan to do a Part Scratch Built part Kit Bash Slaanesh Lord in due time who will be a center peice for the Warriors of Chaos.

Ah that's something worth seeing is a custom built up lord, started doing that to break the mold of HQ units looking so same like if non named.

I laughed so hard with your pictographic slaanesh banner in your signature. Paint job on your chaos knights is coming along. Looks good so far.

Finally something to update, got distracted with RP all week so today got stuck in with some painting and manage to finish my Slaanesh Captain, and get started on my Stock Lord (Who should be done tomorrow). It was said today that my Captain looks like he has a massive pair of Gonads and should be the Lord... However the intention is for every 20 warriors is to kitbash a custom Captain, and eventually make a Custom Lord who looks even more fearsome than the Captains.

Now to go food shopping (Omnom), and then come back for some more Role-Play goodness, got some cold pizza in the fridge *nods*... Tomorrow I will finish off the Stock Lord and then move onto the Captains troops, I plan to do a free hand picture to honour Slaanash on the banner, so I may get than done as my secondary goal tomorrow.

Wow that look good for a captain I'm actually creating a 40k Slaanesh Lord, will have to show you how I roughly go about with it.
Going with big principle of Slaanesh is the Chaos God/Goddess (how ever viewed) of Excess, it should be excessively many aspects of Chaos in FB or 40K. So like Excessive of size, wealth, strength and etc

Very true, this chap is pretty large in comparison to his company so I got size and strength covered , I'd be interested in seeing how your Slaanesh Lord goes, be interesting to see all the aspects incorporated into one being.

The Kingqueen of Excess will be happy.

Will certainly do a Blog of it once the parts arrive as a lot of green stuff will be needed in this creation lol

So today as mentioned I finished off my Stock Chaos Lord to act as my Slaanesh Lord for the current WFB campaign my hobby group is currently running, Unfortunately it's been raining all day so the pictures came out a bit dark making it very hard to see his face under the shadows of the horns and his Pink Spear of Doom.

Pretty happy with how he came out in the end (He is called Eric now), I have some ideas for my second Champion now for the next group of Chaos Warriors, plan to get stuck in with a nice big Scythe and some more fancy armour and paint style to make him reflect the more glamorous side of Slaanesh.

That is starting to look like a true Chaos and that spear looks disturbingly more like a Slaanesh tentacle then spear lol

Ah that be something, try making a conversion squad of like Chaos Slaanesh followers with tentacles for maybe one arm with a shield (or sword depending on model it is) or make green stuff tentacles creeping out from under the armour and such.

Amusingly that Spear has been dubbed the Dildo Spear of Slaanesh, when I first started painting it, it was bright pink as the first layer was Fulgrim Pink unfortunately it is actually a lot shinier than it looks and has a glossy texture to it which did not come out in the photo, I will have to redo his pictures at some point as it is impossible to see his purple eyes either lol. The spear was the last bit to start getting painted so the rest of the model was finished all grim dark and highlighted on the flesh sections of the armour and just this random flourescent pink spear tip, looked like he was off to a rave... 'RAVE FOR CHAOS!'

In my hobby group we have 4 WoC players 1 Nurgle, 1 Khorne, 1 Tzeentch and me as Slaanesh so there is a lot of banter around the painting tables.

Aha well least he won't need a light at night lol

Aha that would certainly make him stand out with some gloss texture if wanting him to be more visible I usually leave my helmet area dark so the eyes are visible but you got to stare into the darkness to see the eyes *puts dark music on*.

Aha that sounds like quite a bit of fun at your hobby group don't start having punch ups with the Khorne lol

So the progress on my army is going well, all assembled and the painting is going well (though so far just a base coat on the main units so no full army pictures ready yet)... To reward myself for my work so far I bought myself the Hellstriders of Slaanesh pack and systematically began dismantling a few of them to do some conversion, I bought the Chaos Sorcerer after seeing the Strider Sprue's as I just had to use the pole as a Slaanesh staff and one of the heads to replace the but ugly rattish one it normally comes with.

Just need to finish up painting my warriors and knights now... I have the perfect idea for my Slaanesh Lord now, however unfortunately going to have to wait until next month to buy all the bits

Exactly lol, soon as I saw that impassive uncarring face I just had to have it on a Sorcerer, it just perfectly frames how I imagine a Sorcerer to be... 'You want to kill me? Burn worm.'

... The staff was an excellant find as well, as the normal one looked far to Tzeentch.

It fits the Slaanesh image does that sorcerer very closely, can't wait to see it painted and it will 100% fit profile of Slaanesh.

Whoa, awesome stuff! I love the Chaos Captain! It's also nice to see a stock Chaos Lord, as I'm painting one up myself atm

I do think your champion has a weird pose, from the front view. The back view seems like he's ready to attack, but on the front pic it looks like he's going to fall :p How do you see it?

The idea on the Champion of Excess' pose is that he is going full force on the whip so he leant back and he is on the return to bring the whip full force into the face of his enemy... So it is a mid action pose which is why his back leg is so far to support the move.. I may bring the Torso forwards more so he is leaning inwards which would correct his balance a little.

But I was going for over-exagerated movement to kinda encapsulate an excessive over dramatic attack, the whip itself is molded so that it looks like it has just been brought back and is comming over head so that was the idea behind his positioning.

He is sort of themed on the 300 Film which was all a spot overdone in terms of movement

They all have names actually however I have yet to edit the posts with them so in order of posting it goes:-

Champion of Chaos - Consort Uthred the Bloodhammer.
Chaos Lord - Prince Consort Thadius the Blessed.
Slaaneshi Sorcerer - Lucius the Insane.
Slaanesh Marauder Champion of Excess - Concubine Ragnar the Flayer

The head warlord for the army will be a female who is next on the build list now I found a suitably armoured chest model to use for it who will be be changable on the Boobie Worm of Slaanesh from the stock Chaos Lord and a Demon Mount, she won't ever fight on foot as that is beneath her status as Self-Proclaimed Empress of the North and as such it falls to her Prince Consort to deal with the battles beneath her status.

Essentially the ranking system for the Army Theme is that all the Champions are a Consort to the Empress and the chief among the Consorts is the Prince-Consort who all the lower ones wish to Usurp through insane displays of excess in the face of their enemies, Concubines are the Marauder Champions and are essentially the Empresses Rent-Boys who desire to become Chosen of Slaanesh and take their rightful place as Consorts.

It's kinda of a messed up version of the Mongul Empire where the Khan could have several wives and hundreds of Concubines, however this time the gender roles have been messed up.

That system you got set up for how your Slaanesh army is going to work sounds really good Planning on doing something like that for my Tzneetch (if ever get that far with my CSM)

Got main Warband (mostly Khorne) and going to have 3 splinter bands based on each Chaos God including Malice & Mayhem (5th god seemed to be lonely so band for him lol)

Slaaneshi Sorc has been painted, pictures are unfortunately fairly bad British Weather is affecting the Warp so will retake them at some point, He has eye-liner, Purple Lipstick and his face is painting so it looks partly burnt as Sorc's have a habbit of blowing themselves up!

I used to be an owner of the Origional Nagash model they did back when he was 100% metal its a real shame that when moving country some years back before moving back, he was lost in the move *sniffs*
