Thanks a lot everyone - I really appreciate your kind comments.

Awesomesauce wrote:Truly amazing stuff!

I'm very new to sculpting, and I am curious what tools do you use when sculpting greenstuff? Also, what is your technique for making the straight pieces that were used for the bandages and the GS that wraps around the daemon prince's whip?

I just use a basic metal sculpting tool, and my invaluable rubber clay shaper. The metal tool is for the major stuff, hard edges and stuff like that, and the clay shaper is an amazing tool for organic smooth stuff. Try it - it is amazing.

Ailaros wrote:nice work, of course, I especially like the berzerker's left hand blade.

Quick question about the last demon prince. How cured was the GS when you wound it around the whip? I was going to assume that it was completely cured, and kept pliable by its thinness, but there appears to be some mellowing on it, which means that's not the case.

I mean, you must have let it cure somewhat, right, or it would have been to much of a pain in the butt to work with, right?

Actually I use it as soon as I mix it. I use saliva as a lubricant (no need for washing, like with petroleum jelly/vasoline), and with a bit of care it is easily done. Since the greenstuff is freshly mixed, it's more sticky, and adheres to the model much better.

Awesome stuff, and I can't get over how much I love your DG paint scheme. It's so easy to go overboard with nurgle-ness, but yours is a very nice balance.

Asking you to take my first born child for your army wouldn't be to much to ask would it? Your work is great and can't wait to see more, maybe some battle reports so we can see your models smashing in the skulls of your enemies. Keep it up, are you going to do the other 2 gods? or are you moving on with something other than chaos?

Thanks a lot - I really like it too. It looks sort of arcane and dirty, without being green blobs. And it's soooo easy to paint too.

Keep the baby, please - I work with childcare (10-15 year olds) and I've got about 100 of them - that's plenty.

I don't think I'll do Slaanesh and Tzeentch. I've actually talked to my buddy (the guy I made the daemon prince for - he LOVES it. ) about him making armies of the other 2 to complement mine - they're his favourite gods, so it's a great fit.

Perhaps I'll do a model or two - I have a cool idea for a tzeentch paint scheme I want to try out, but as an army, they don't really appeal to me.

New additions are looking great my friend. Khorne and Nurgle are my two favourite gods as well. You have truly done them justice with these armies.

I cant wait for slaanesh stuff. Hes the best god IMO.

Slaanesh and khorne are my favorites.

I honestly thought Khorne, as a god, had little to no personality. i avoided him like the plague for this reason.

Then one day several months ago i stumbled onto this thread.

Boy, was I wrong about khorne.

What I'm saying is, you actaully managed to change my opinion completely on something . And I'm famous among my friends for being stubborn as a tree-stump.

Khorne is amazing

Thanks a lot, man.

Well, I'm kinda stuck on the nurgzerker project, so I'll put them on pause until inspiration strikes. Nonetheless, I've been busy getting everything done (there was a lot of "almost done" minis), basing everything, etc. I'll get some pics up, when the weather is photographyfriendly. Also, I'm almost done on the land raider - it is looking GOOD.

Tonight I also got the defiler done and ready for paint. There was a lot of greenstuffing to be done, but I think the end result is worth it:

Thanks a lot guys - though I've removed the tongue - it looked a bit too much like a dog out of breath.

I took a couple of pics of the finished units and the near completed stuff:

The tongue did seem out of place, I think it was smart to remove it (although I could see how well done the sculpt was.)

Looking at the above pictures I'm torn between loving and hating you. Freaking excellent job. So nasty and full of funk, yet so incredibly subtle. I'd really love to see your take on the remaining two cults.

This Blog is Fant-Amazing!!!

In fact, I'm a long time loyalist and your work has turn me to the the chaos gods for my next army. Seeing how good you are at converting and sculpting, I can't wait to see what you'll come up with when you tackle the other two chaos powers - especially Slaanesh's Noise Marines!

Anyways, keep up the good work!

I have to say your Death Guard has to be the best looking army Ive ever seen. I know thats a term that gets thrown around forums like this a lot but I feel it is true. It is so full of character and you have really been able to push your painting and converting skills. It is jawdropping.

Wow! Just wow! I can't believe how good the Defiler looks! All of them actually! And super-zerker is awesome! I assume your blood is TCR, but do you mix it with anything? I'd love the recipe!

Holy shatner, that is literally the best Nurgle/Death Guard/Plague Marine army I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot. They're extremely popular, esp. on Dakka Dakka, you know. But daaayum, those minis are amazing.

Wow, just wow.

That Defiler, what a conversion that is, absolutely fantastic, can't wait to see it painting.
I love your Death Guard, the Land Raider is very cool, the Plague Marines look great. And I also love your Daemon Prince (guess thats what it is) conversion. The other bits are also top notch.

Thanks a lot for the very kind words, I really appreciate them.

Funny thing is, that this is probably the easiest army I've ever painted - it's almost all washes and white primer.

It's really only Tamiya Clear Red, with a bit of chaos black mixed in - it is an awesome product.
