Got a bit of work on the LoER comp this evening.... and I have slightly changed my base pieces.... I am now using 1 printer cartridge package & one multivitamin bottle..... both still everyday items and within the rules I recon!

So..... its a power relay station.... bit of damage going on and starting to add some details.... lots of lovely rivits and bits and bobs still to add.... going to have one of my lovely hot chocolate / coffee & dirt groumd coverings aswell..... apart from the little control panel on the main section..... every part of this piece will be everyday items amd not specific modeling parts....

Hope you like where it's headed! Cheers all!

thanks Dr H..... the vitamin bottle is in one piece... but it has now had milk bottle tops glued to each end...... I didn't put the hole in it yet.... PHEW!!

Haha... yes indeed ... makes a great vent... I knew someone would spot that!

Red Harvest wrote:Use the goo flowing from the bottle as support?

Structural goo...... hmmm I like the idea of that! although as Dr H reminded me... the bottle will need to stay in one piece.... there is an outflow pipe at the end though which might be able to be used as a goo stand! .. I will explore this later this evening...

thanks again all!

Ahoy all....
Small update tonight. ?. Just trying to keep updating to keep the progress going.

Mocked up one of the track units for the Macharius tonight. Keeping it really basic to match in with the hull & turret. Lots of rivets and a few more details to add but not many.
Then I need to get the tracks on. IMHO I still think that the tracks from Machinator are going to really look good!

Cheers all,

Ahoy all, Hope everyone is well!

Sitting in the office thinking all of the different projects and bits and bobs I want to get built / buy / own / create its making me think of how much I have really fallen into and enjoy the whole experience of modelling / painting / experimenting etc. I think a whole lot of it is actually this website... DaKKA is an incredible recourse full of great people really keen and interested to help and I think without it... I know personally I wouldn't have even done a fraction of the work I have up till this point. Its awesome and I have to admit "even as a non player" that I really enjoy the banter and real critique both given and received on these projects. So thanks everyone who has even peeked in at any of my previous pages and a real bit thanks to anyone who has commented! It has really been appreciated...

Speaking about bits and bobs,
I am looking to put together a wee list of the current / future projects I really want to get done....

SCRATCH BUILD :

Macharius MK1
Centaur (style) wee APC
Trench dio / bunker X2 ... make that X3....
LoER Comps
Steam Tanks Wee
Steam Tank Big
Hercules (rebuild scenic base)
(DUST TACTICS) style Axis Walker...... Imperial Sentinal Base
3d Print / cast Pieces designed in 3d for parts etc.....
Mauler (Macharius) 3d printed Tank.....

I also really want to start to try my hands at a character model.... scratch built..... but sooo many to chose from... Heresy Era.... but depending on the character I chose... it might be pre or post heresy!

I will keep adding to this during the day as more things come to me....

Hopefully I can get through them all and hopefully people keep on viewing and commenting as I go.... I have a load of ideas for these projects but its always better and nice to have input along the way!

Once again..... another Friday rant / brain fart.... but its always good to put these things out there!

Anyways.... cheers all! Take it easy!

Ahoy me hearties!

Hope alls good,

Got some work done on the LOeR generator. Riveted up the main unit and got a fence line added. Still a lot of details to add amd then its paint amd damage time!

And yes indeed Graven.... I think potentially my character choice would either be a death guard or a grimy pre heresy Iron Warrior.

Ah well.... another bank holiday... another day...... in the office with the sun shining! Although I cant really complain after being off work and seeing the sights of the glorious Isle of Skye & Scotland's West Coast for the last week!!

Some seriously good works going on with the LoER competition and I am thinking I am really going to have to go all out on this one.... all the major elements are now in place but there requires a lot more riveting and cabling to be done before it is ready for paint.....

as previous pieces.... the final ground cover material "hot chocolate / coffee / plaster / dirt" will be applied last to allow me to work the ground around and over some of the elements to help give a real impression of age and solidarity...

Got some nice little finishing details to go on it also!

This evening however I am turning my attentions back to my steam tanks...... I put in a wee order with "Ramshackle Games" for a couple of bits and bobs I think will sit really nice with the "steam tank" aesthetic so fingers crossed they will be with me sometime soon.... but this evening I am going to have a look closer at the tracks units and treads that I want to use as well as the track guards and really push the model on so the Ramshackle parts can be the finishing touches....

Anyway... best get back to the grindstone...

Hope everyone is well and will be back later on with progress pics!

The front wheel for the track looks to be too far forward, unless you intend to extend the hull somehow.

Otherwise looking very good.

Hey mate, yeh... I think your right... I will look at that when I get the opposite side built up... might actually have to raise it up a little to get the tracks surther back but that's fine..... also, after looking at it again..... the rear wheels seem to be slightly too small... might have to look at an alternative for those...

Hey all... bit of a mixed night tonight.

Had a free evening (after voting) amd came home keen to work.... but... alas..... I had completely run out of glue! PVA & super glue....

So I took the opportunity to have a full tidy of my work space and started another batch of homeade rust... made a couple of moulds for tracks..... one of which I broke..... and had my first attempt at greemstuff work.... made a couple of cables for the LoER comp.

More glue at the weekend amd then I can really crack on!

So all in all not a bad evening......

Not much to comment on but thought I woild post anyways!

Cheers all

Its a stunning spot... feel terrible that in my 31 years this was the first time I made the drive through Glen Coe and up past Eilan Donan up to Portree.... just stunning! Mrs MagosBiff & I certainly have the bug.

I'm in Glasgow mate, you? I am a man of Kent, but have lived here since I came up to Uni in '96, half a lifetime ago.
Eilan Donan is amazing. Last year we took the Harry Potter train up to Mallaig, stunning if you get the weather.
BTW, excellent use also of period writing desk. Handy things, I used one for a long time, though an IKEA one is (somewhat sadly) now my purview. Excellent for paint storage, less so for hiding ongoing projects.

Ahhh I see.... I am just outside of Stirling.... so just up the motorway!

Ye, my wife and I fancy the Harry Potter trip... looks cool.... and again Mallaig itself looks pretty amazing....

and yes, the old desk is pretty good... I don't have a huge amount of models or materials anyway... so its nice just to put something down and close it up instead of having to tidy up!!

cheers Shas! I will get the first load of wee tracks done this evening so fingers crossed...

Managed to snaffle some PVA from work so I might well be able to get some work done this evening...... as far as my LoER comp piece goes... I think I am happy with it now... going to add some more cables and "danger" posters etc.... but its only really the paint job left... am really happy with this piece.... definitely think it will be my best entry to date! But as we have seen in the election results recently.... I don't want to count my grots before they are grown!
