Hello,
After a break of wargaming and painting, I'm back at the painting desk. In search of a new army, Harlequins caught my attention. They now have a codex of there own!
So I hope this blog will keep me motivated to paint regulary.

Cheers

Thanks dudes! Got some things from ebay. Will doing some small conversions for my troupe master and shadowseer.
Finished my first transport. But I'm still not sure how to base the clowns. Was thinking about some white bone coloured bases. I think the contrast with the base would make the models pop a bit more..
Hope the pics are okay, everything is fixed with my phone so.

On a sidenote I hope everybody is okay during these hard times.

Cheers

I think i like the idea of bone bases, like you say it would probably make things pop out a bit more. Nice work on the diamonds!

Really excellent freehand work! I think the checker pattern is really well done.

The white bases would definitely pop, but I worry that the eye would be drawn to it instead of the subtle blacks and greys of your Harlequins. That said, the details would also probably stand out - so you'd have the faces, weapons, and checker-patterns and the base drawing the eye, with the silhouette a secondary observation.

So, did some test for my bases. Made two bases ready for my HQ's. And bought a mistweaver to use as a shadowseer.

I'll be home some time in the next couple of weeks so expect some more updates soon. I enjoy painting a lot more than back in the day. So it's a relaxing time spender these days.

So here we are again. Going fast with the harlequins. Bought a painted death jester so just did some small touch ups so he would fit with my army and made him a base

Also did a heavy support, trying to paint as much crew as possible to really have the feeling of a raiding party.

Thx for looking

Ah, clowns. Always love me some clowns.

You're of to a good start! Really liking the diamond pattern.
The scenic bases are looking great. The bone color on them pops the actual models really well.

Keep it up!

As usually, excellent freehand work. I'm really impressed. By varying the shade and the size of the diamonds you're doing a great job of making each model distinct, but still appearing to be part of a cohesive force.

How did you make the scenic bases for the death jesters?

Thanks guys!

The base for the death jester is part from the ancient bases from element games. I cut the base in half and added some parts of the scenic bow that comes with the death jester at the top.
I can't get myself to finish my bikes so busy with a troupe master right now.

Cheers

Some more time spend at home, so more progress..
Finished 2 troupe masters. One was already painted so I painted a layer on top. Not so good, you can see that the paint is laying a bit thick and the pattern of his cape isn't that satisfying. But oh well it will do.
Finished the bases of two bikes as well.
Need to find some better camera. Because the one of my phone is of poor quality.

Hello, broke out my eldar army for a change of painting harlequins. On my to do list for this weekend are some guardians, already painted 4 of them some months ago. Got my jetbikes out for some paint inspiration.

See ya

Jetbike force looks great, some lovely basing too.

And the choice of bases for the Harlies is brilliant, plays against them really well.

Looking good! I like the bases on the Guardians, it helps tie them into the larger army without taking away from your centerpiece models.

G'day mate, some really impressive stuff happening in here. I love the attention to detail in the base work - whether on big stuff like the troupe masters' statues or the simple checkerboard work for the guardians. I love that the jetbikes tie into that too - I've never been a big fan of the clear plastic flying bases!

The freehand on the cloaks and bike canopies is also great. Looking forward to seeing more - I am not in the least upset that there are non-harlequin eldar to get finished as well!

Thanks guys, these comments are really motivating.
Saim hann was my second army like 15 years back when I started with warhammer. I sold the army initially. But got back at painting a new one a year ago. Really like their playstyle. Only pitty jetbikes aren't troops anymore..
Hopefully things get better so I can drop them on the table for some games.
See ya

Great looking Saim Hann and Harlies here. And I too like the basing going on here, as very easy not to make the effort on all the troops
