Hell yeah. 21 Skeletal Archers for MSRP $25 ?

I've been waiting for these for D&D, Warhammer, and KoW for decades.

These are going to sell out, like the dogz and zombie dogz, after the KS

Tempting but only three sculpts is a little disappointing for non zombicde uses.

Do you know any other manufacturer that produces skeletal archers in more than 3 sculpts for a similar price ?

Not being snippy, I'm genuinely interested.

Now that you mention it I am not sure I do.

Don't mantics Skellies have more than three sculpts? But then again they are more expensive.

That said if they are as good as the concepts the zombicide ones would be better even with limited poses. Thats not to say I wouldn't prefer more poses but I don't know of a better option.

Good point well made Adam.

Have they shown the skeleton archer sculpts yet? I couldn't see them in the updates.

I like the Lady Faye sculpt, except I'm not sold on the stance; the upper legs look a little too far apart maybe?

Have to say the skeleton archer artwork looks fantastic.

Not sure what I would use them for other than Zombicide, but .. skeleton archers!

Who even makes plastic skeleton archers these days?

Let alone ones in armor still?

That's a good deal for undead players and GMs running undead heavy campaigns.

...neither of which are me, but nevertheless....

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

I think Reaper should have unarmored skeleton archers and a few more that are armored from their Bones line, which granted is a more soft plastic than Zombicide minis.

I'm interested in seeing the sculpts, the art looks good.

Also worth noting the bones minis are more expensive per figure than the archer add-on pack.

fyi, Descent 1st edition had skeleton archers, and mebbe FFG will reissue their resculpts for 2nd edition. Of course, you're not going to buy these *just* for the sculpts. Fun game.

I bought Descent for the minis. The skeletal archers are a nice sculpt, but there is only one sculpt, and no more than 10 or so in the whole box.

As much as I love Bones, the skeletons are so thin they warp easily, single sculpt, they are never in stock, they don't look as good, and they cost more (3 for $4.99).

Mantic has 10 sculpts for 14.99BP, so they are more expenisive and unlike thier melee centric skeletons, they don't look great.

ALthough to be fair, I believe they are supposed to be Elven Skeletons.

Nope. Bones 3 launches July 8. We'll have to wait a while before Bones 4 is even announced, I think.

so excited for this that I bought a box of "walk of the dead 2" at miniaturemarket just now. I don't even have the main game, just wanted to start painting zombies. Who says there can't be zombies that traveled back in time which caused the outbreak. Plus they had the box for $12 (in store dinged and dented, not a website special). Might have to swing back up there later as they had 3 boxes of toxic city mall there for half off due to dinged boxes. Just think off all those cheap minis and tiles .

Getting close to the finish line, and I'm getting a small case of cold feet! The main thing I would like to ask is, how does this game stack up against other similar games, especially considering the price, and how much variation you get for your money? For example, for the same amount of money I'm paying for Black Plague + expansion + shipping, I could buy Star Wars: Imperial Assault twice over, a game with a long campaign with persistent character progression and even a skirmish war game included. How does zombicide stack up, value-wise?

I don't know if people are using that comparison because Quinns made it at SUSD but Imperial Assault and Zombicide aren't really that similar.

I'm not a huge fan of Descent, which Imperial Assault is based on, because if I'm going to GM I'd rather just play a full RPG, and you do have to GM in places to keep the game balanced. But lots of people really like it and there's a lot of gameplay in there.

Zombicide is far more casual, but I think it's quite fun with a few simple home rules. It's also fully co-op if that makes a difference in your group. With Zombicide you get many times as many miniatures but there's no real narrative to the gameplay or scenarios.

I'm staying in the Kickstarter but not getting the expansion. If it's great you can always get it at discount later and you're only out a few bonus models, since you get the vast majority of the "free" stuff with the basic pledge. The money you save on the expansion can go most of the way to that copy of Imperial Assault.

Black Plague will have the campaign system built into it that was introduced in Rue Morgue.

I very much like Imperial Assault, but that and Zombicide are very different games, IMO.

Not that it helps, any, but Zombicide is far and away my favorite board game.

Kingdom Death Fanatic. Dark Eldar: Kabal of the Fragile Breath. Dark Elves: Allegiance to the Black Crown. Also, Masons, Cygnar, and Legion of Everblight. All unnamed.

Holy gak that is an awesome username. Please tell me your army is called Kabal of the Fragile Breath. Morathi's Darkest Sin has some competition here for best handle, I think.

I have played zombicide only about 4 times but its been fun every time. My local FLGS loves it and they play it very often.

Did you total up the cost of all the SW:IA expansion packs?

IMO, the Zombicide base game gets you plenty of casual play. But, if you play it frequently, or intend to use the mini's for other generic fantasy games (eg. RPGs), the KickStarter is your best bet.

While I'm not really against the Batman and Joker stretch goals I just have to ask "we're there not enough fantasy characters to pull for this setting?" Plus now that we have Sir Gilbert, can we get a Bunnyabomination?

Well, I guess you guys convinced me... Staying in! Another plus is that while there is no way in hell my non-gamer friends and family would play imperial assault, descent etc, I'm sure they would be willing to try zombicide.

In the end, aren't they just as 'valid' a source as anything else though?

And there certainly seem to be enough 'fantasy' based ones anyway!
