I've attended many drug rep lunches and they most certainly aren't free. Time/listening to their pitch can certainly be a a grueling price of admission, largely dependent on your title and their aggressiveness.

Not as the person they're trying to woo. Trust me, I know, my mother used to go to them all the time. They always paid as well for my sister or myself to accompany her when we were younger, but expected nothing from us.

Except to spend your time listening to their drivel.
Even if they're not gearing their pitch to you, you've still got to sit through it.

I started following the blog a few days ago, before knowing this info. If I win, I'll let you guys know how it goes.

All of the following is speculative conjecture on the possibility of scamming;

Just as a thought his could be a scam of the stores/organisations that are donating goods, rather than people joining for free stuff. The fact that there are threads requesting you to sign up could be used as evidence by the scam artist to show that this is a popular way of getting the donators goods seen and generate good will for them.

On receiving the goods said scammer could keep the goods presumably selling them for profit, sending some out to get some positive feedback. They could even do this using duplicate accounts or plants.

This would be a good way of generating free stock for a eBay seller for instance.

Now while I am aware of the past threads concerning RedStarOne, I do not in the least suggest that this is what is going on merely suggesting how one might make this work.

Having said that I am a great believer in the the following saying: If something is too good to be true, then it probably isn't.

Now get outta here you crazy kids and don't go getting funny ideas about scamming people!

I'm sure that Matt was able to complete trades, commissions, etc. with many people in a positive and successful way.

I'm sure there are many people that are quite happy about all of that.

And again, his latest effort is laudable.

My problem is, as previously stated, that he's got a major outstanding commission with me.

I fully expect that he will deliver them. Eventually.

And believe me, if I could have picked them all up myself, I would have.

There is that saying "Live in hope, die in vain.", but I remain hopeful that I will get my stuff back...

I refuse to believe anything said or put anything past someone who would lie about family tragedies.

I was refunded my money because Paypal did so, NOT because Matthew wanted to, but because he had to.

I was one of the lucky ones, unlike the 6 or so others who told their stories via PM or my thread that he scammed and contionuosly lied to, during which time he was selling their paid for items on Ebay. Which he received good feedback for because, again, Ebay Made him be good.

Anything pertaining to this jackhole should be deleted from view. Because, as we've seen firsthand, there's nothing making him behave on here.

I like the link that MM has found between RSO and Galaxy Gobbo. The plot thickens.

I also notice that the OP lists Yakface as someone they know in real life. I'd love to have yak either confirm or deny.

Wow, im being accused again of being linked to him. its also funny that once again there are posts that are clearly wrong.

First and formost, I post Yakface as my referer. It asked and that was a name I noticed from the admin posts. I dont know a single person on here in person. Ive lurked for 4 years. How would I know anyone?

I dont think he nor gobbo were hiding that gobbo has given stuff to the give away. I also saw hw gobbo gave 5 members here free stuff today. Didnt gobbo post a picture fo 25 stormravens?

SlavetoDorkness, I read YOUR transaction report. You mentioned that you were refunded right away. I know for a fact that paypal doesnt refund that fast unless the person agrees to the refund. Also Scammers dont leave money in paypal, they take it out. Plus, ebay doesnt force anyone to do anything.

Now I am sure il get more replies saying im defending him when im NOT. Im simply stating my opinions.
Do I think his past is right? NO. I do trust what Alpharius said in that even he thinks he will get the stuff and how the guy has completed trades. AI have never seen scammers complete so many trades. But then again, thats just what ive seen.

EldressFarseer, there is a phrase from Hamlet:

"The lady doth protest too much, methinks."

Why are you still, 4 pages in, making a song and dance out of this. It is your constant posting and overkill on being defensive which is irking people and making them suspicious. You would be far better suited to drop this particular hot potato.

As for Redstarone... 2 and half years of owing Alpharius and others here on dakka cash and holding onto their models?!?
Hiis 'reasons' for his inability to pay are highly variable and frankly assuming that none of his customers have woes of their own or can suffer losing amounts to that level either rends him closeted or a bloody liar.

Thats it. I keep coming back because I keep reading stuff that from what ive read is clearly wrong.

Now im also done being accused of anything. I did nothing wrong but share something I saw no harm with. If you dont like it, dont reply. if you dont trust it, dont follow the blog. If you dont trust me, why keep coming in saying anything? Last i checked this was a thread I started, thats why I keep coming back.

All this has done is make me pretty much hate dakka. If people can accuse me of something, someone that did nothing, why on earth should I believe half this stuff ive read here today?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
PS I am done with this thread. I dont feel like being accused of anything. Enjoy life dakkaites. I am resuming lurking. Out of everyone that posted, only 2 of you were nice to me. TWO out of how many posters?

Eldress, I apologize for saying that you could be RSO. I hope you enjoy your time here at Dakka. It's just your initial post reads more like a marketing roll out for RSO's new blog, and you have defended him like one might defend a friend. If you really don't know the guy then why come out and defend him against a community he has wronged.

The people here at Dakka used kid gloves with him for so long and tried to give him the benefit of the doubt for much longer than most people would consider. You come out and attack the Dakka community as being extremely harsh but you don't really know RSO's entire history here. You are getting some harsh responses based off of that history and your attempt to defend his name here.

Thanks for the heads up MM. I'll be unsubscribing to Galaxy Gobbo as soon as I post this. I don't want to have anything to do with a guy who not only harmed those he stole from, but harmed the trade/sell community as a whole by helping to foster fear of making a trade.

Galaxy Gobbo is a business and we are not set out here to scam anyone. We also happen to be partnered with over 20+ blogs many which are blogring networks such as 3++ Kirby, Jawaballs (BOLS) , House of Pancakes, Warmonger Gameday, and etc. This is part of our internet marketing campaign whilst using minimal budget. The only money potentially that will be spent will be here on DakkaDakka and www.LostHemisphere.com

Neither do we need to create a third thread promoting our business - our business on Dakka has already peaked its maximum in terms of new traffic as we have done heavy advertising on here as is. Our first thread was to promote our Dakka Debut contest which ended on March 1st.

And we will carry on our business.

Which we have provided an incentive to any blog writers out there - if they were to post our banner up - we would give them a discount coupon as per seen here on our DakkaDakka Contest thread.

We have made over $3,000 in sales our last week. Where all our first deal purchases provided us money up front in full faith. They are also paypal protected. A majority coming from DakkaDakka.com users, and we will deliver these products and maintain our promise to help the wargaming community. We also expect to pull off the same amount this week, next week and future weeks upcoming.

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/350880.page

You can cast doubts on our business model, techniques and everything but it would be only personal lost for you to associate negativity with our business,
as we are going to continually launch deals, and strive for more discounts.

And you will see the people who will recieve their storm ravens who are Dakkites, and who gave us full faith in handling their money first.

And we are not going to fail them, or any Dakkite here.

I for one no longer give a crap what happened in his personal life. 2 years is more than long enough to resolve issues with his clients, NOTHING can occupy every second of everyday for that long.

Business is business. He should be sued, class action. I was sympathetic with him a year ago, but now I just think he is a liar, possibly about the whole thing.

'Oh, I'm sorry my wife, kid, cat, dog, postman and pizza delivery guy are sick/dying. I absolutely do not have time to complete my commisions. '

' What I do have time for is sending out weekly piles of BS promising things I have no intention of delivering, keeping your stuff and spending your money. I also have plenty of time to start blogs and participate in raffles.'

COME ON. Even if what he said was true, he is still a D-bag, and should be chased out of this hobby with torches.

EldarFarseer, whoever you are, if you are indeed innocent then it sucks you chose this moment to start posting here. BUT - Don't show up with George W Bush on your arm to a Democratic Convention and wonder where all the hostility is coming from either...
