Take an Earthborn, Janissa and Krielstone Bearers, and probably a Mauler (I mean who wouldn't want that), and I'm sure he becomes a lot better. Most people are probably going to say, "Well yeah but at those points, why wouldn't I just take another Dire Troll or two"

With the Krielstone Bearers w/UA and full focus (11 inch range) you can give him +2 ARM and +1 STR, that gives you a 2 inch sweep at P+S 20.

Add in the EBDT with Elemental Communion and Janissa's wall placing effect, your Mountain King gets 23 ARM, sure he's still DEF 9 but you want those troll whelps jumping off of him, if you boost his armor high enough, he'll only suffer a few points of damage.

Finally, I would probably run him with either of the Doomshapers. pDoomie has Fortune which will help (somewhat) with that MAT 5, and eDoomie can pop Wild Aggression which is probably your best bet to get around the MAT 5... or if you've got the points, use the Runebearer and cast it on him turn one if you don't want to use Doomshaper's fury early on.

Idk, just some thoughts...

I agree with all of those thoughts, they're what I've seen people considering using him with (with the exception of the Mauler, although that makes sense).

The issue is that, without the Mauler and dropping the extra Krielstone scribes, you're still already at 37 points. So there's not much else coming with him!

Including the Mauler and extra scribes puts it at 47. With pDoomshaper's 7 warbeast points, that'd leave you 10 points for an infantry screen.

It's doable at 50, but still a bit of a stretch. At 35 him and his supporting cast (of course the Earthborn will do other things, but is pretty necessary to boost his ARM) take pretty much all your points.

The reason I think the Mauler isn't as necessary, is you're likely not rotating multiple animii onto him every turn, so if you're putting on Elemental Communion, you're not putting on Rage (although it'd be nice for the critical attack turn).

I think he'll definitely need Wild Aggression, Fortune, or similar!

Yeah, I wouldn't use any colossal or gargantuan at anything less than like 75 points. Using models I have (and an EBDT, since I don't own one yet D: ) here is what I was thinking:

Epic Hoarluk (+6 Points)
Dire Troll Mauler
Earthborn Dire Troll
Mountain King
Full Krielstone Bearer w/ UA
Trollkin Champions w/Skaldi
Trollkin Fennblades w/UA
Fell Caller Hero
Janissa Stonetide
2 units of Whelps
Trollkin Champion Hero

Which leaves me with 1 point, so I was thinking of throwing in a Swamp Gobber crew just because.

Like I said, I don't see myself using them in anything less than 75 point games, unless I just wanted to throw one out there just because...

I do think some of the Colossals will be viable at lower points, but I agree- the Mountain King will shine at 75 . And either way, is awesome! I will probably give it a try at 50, since that's the highest point level we really play in my area.

Yeah, we have to be in the mood for a big game at my store... the last big game we had was this six hour slugfest of an Unbound game... SO MUCH INFANTRY!

I heard it described as just a larger titan, but you're right, the pic does look like a triceratops... that'd be a lot cooler, I think.

I think that's just a spike on it's armor plating...

It should be noticed though that the big beastie has 4 tusks...

I noticed he has the standard 4 arms of Titans, 2 for killing, 2 for hugging. For those of use clamoring for a T Rex, just don't put on the big main arms and use the stubby ones, there T Rex.

Word on the grape vine is that the Circle Wold Wraith is the strongest/best of the Hordes Gargantuans according to the opinion of the devs and play testers. Gets spoiled in the next NQ in a couple months.

Boo! Hiss!

Good for them, though! I do hope these things are viable, would love to see them on the table.

Got the Mountain King last night but was too tired to take pics. Will snap some when I get home tonight and put them here in the thread.

As you already know... it is SO HUGE! That feeling is even stronger when you see the parts. Only comes in a few pieces, too, which is nice. I don't know how they casted them, but it looks fantastic.

Minions are getting one, just not in Gargantuans. They'd rather use those slots to actually fill out the list before giving them one just cause everyone else has them.

Gargantuan spoilers at Muse on Minis. Directed there by a friend, no real idea if they're accurate or not, but they seem cool!

The Archangel has a P+S 19 Bite attack.
Her Bite attack has the special ability Consume (not critical).
She can make Ride By attacks.

The Woldwrath’s animus reads something like the following:
RNG:Self Cost:2
Druid’s Wrath- Friendly faction models gain boosted magic attack rolls when targeting enemy models within 10” of this model.

The Mammoth’s Gun is
RNG 10
PoW 15
AoE 4
RoF 3

Do like the sound of Druids Wrath.

Especially cause the woldwrath will no doubt be stuck right in the face of the enemy.

I thought the Skorne One was a Triceratops not a Mammoth? I read nothing about it just looked at the picture. That makes me want one less now. :(
