About to Finish off all the layers on 30+ Bits before washes and highlights get done.

Took my Blood Axes out for their first actual game since I started them in.. um.. 2009...

Suffice to say mistakes were made, its time to draw a line under this sorry episode and move on

Built 3 inceptors - thought I had lost one of the grav chute fins, only to discover later to my horror that is had someone fallen onto another part of the chute and bonded, leaving me unable to detatch the piece with pliers

Going to paint 3 intercessors with my son tonight. He's three so it'll mostly be helping him spread paint.

Built 7 Objective Markers,Made a couple more industrial mesh bases.

Finished the last three of the oop metal Eldar Guardians from Rogue Trader days. So all the troop choices finished for my OOP Eldar. These have been a long slog, but now that the unit is compete I can either run two 10 model and support weapon squads or one 20 model and 2 support weapon unit.

Received forge world box so put those soaking. Took out sicarran turret from freezer and GOT THE GUN OFF! Yes! I screwed up assembly on this big time resulting in one gun pointing UP. Been bugging me off. Good thing after being on freezer the super glue let go...

Continuing on this put warhound weapons into freezer. Those (I bought 2nd handed) are assembled fine but would like to figure if I can make them swappable.

And started glueing cork board to board. It's bit hard for the canal part though as it's 90 degrees up so glue side is sideways......Ah well. Trying to put some heavier items keeping it tight if it works.

base painted a few more orks in a couple of colours, assembled another Custodian, based the gold on a different one with the first wash added.

Gold highlights added to a chaos predator, tomorrow should see bits masked and the clear candy red over then 24 hours to cure

My son painted 75% of his new intercessors in caidan green. It's a strangely aquatic look with their blue plastic underneath.

Going to finish painting strips on my vehicles. It's not going well but I just have to hope I can fix the mistakes in touch up

Bolt Action night at the local shop. So my US Army forces are marching tonight!

Painting four 6mm Soviet aircraft at once. Would get more finished sooner if I'd just do them one at a time.

I've been trying to learn how to paint an acceptable dungeon looking base, just freehand, and it's a challenge. i think i've read here about people using little strips of tape to get straight lines, but i don't know what kind of tape to use?

I'm running my Starfinder game tonight, so time to hobby will be limited to doing a few highlights on the Sisters of Silence squad I'm currently working on.

I just need to do:
- eyes,
- final edge on the skin
- edge on the armour
- top knots and helmet fur, second layer
- final teeth layer

So on the home stretch and very excited!

Contemplating what to do to replace the Crawler...and the Orks.


UPDATE: did the eyes, half done the top knot, armour edging and teeth, did the helmet fur.

Painters tape so that it does not remove paint from the base in areas you have already painted?

Applied the first layer of white to my custom Stormtroopers, I really should have primed them white, but oh well.

Started painting first piece of terrain board and assembled 15 MKII assault marines for blood angels. Remaining 5 needs drilling to arms since weapons will be magnetized to cover all but power fist and lightning claws(which would require swapping entire arm rather than just hand and extra blood angel shoulder pads)

Finished my Prosecutors (except for some basing) and started the Vigilators.

Ordered some paint.
Top knots finished on boys. Just waiting for paint so can do last edge highlight on 14 Shoota boyz.

I used green stuff to attach magnets to the bases of all my GSC models. I normally super glue them, but they are based on the Imperial Sector bases and the undersides aren't uniform. The GS was relatively painless, so might use this for all future magnets.

I sorted out all the biscuit tins where I keep my models. Broke out the labelling machine and labelled them all up.

Standard blue painters tape works well provided the surface doesn't have too many raised bits on it. You can also do good things with paint markers if you have a steady hand.

I can't seem to stop buying and assembling those termagaunt 5 packs. I have like 30 of the things now.

I have about 4 magnets left for bases and then am going to return to fixing up the stripes on my hellhounds. At least I finally assembled my Neohpyte Hybrids. They've been partially assembled for a few weeks now after I went on a primaris/tyranid quick assembly box rampage.

Primed an oop Eldar Jetbike just before the rains came.

Just about finished five Custodians as well.

Putting some planning in on how to convert a Nob into a Big Men with KFF

Putting the final colour of grass and some snow effect on some Prosecutors and painting the base armour onto a unit of Vigilators.

Halfway through painting 32 plastic Warlord Indians for the French and Indian War and the American War of Independence. Have primed and based another 20 metal Indians from the Warlord range and they'll be next on the painting line.

Received my paints....put i n drawer... stored the GSC models.
Desk, shelves and mind much clearer than they have been for a long time!

Second layer of white on my Scions, almost done with the white on them

Today I painted an Ork boy, my first in about a month. I haven't had much chance over the holidays and the Custodes release news really took the hobby wind out of my sails so to speak. I blasted him out in about 3 hours, he's not finished but not far off. One of so, so many.

Still working on base coats for a 10-strong unit of Vigilators.

We're having a spate of unseasonably warm weather, so I'll also be getting my Telemon Dreadnought basecoated tonight or tomorrow.

Went on some kind of gluing rampage and assembled a Hive Tyrant and finished a Trygon Prime that'l I'll probably never use

Late Night Painting session,just finished a set of daemonscape outpost buildings,and am now working on 10 industrial mesh themed bases.

Just picked up a 4 foot by 8 foot by 1/4" board of expanded PVC

gotta cut up some 1x1' for zones tiles.

Realm of Battle: Imperial Sector for me.

Painted all the gold bits. That's the Eagle and sarcophagus bits.

Took longer than I thought it would. Just have to do the mechanical bits and a few skull pits and that's all the Base coating done. Then have to tidy up and complete the washes. I'm going to need more Agrax Earthshade.

Putting some decals and seeing if I need to tweak (again) my Winged Hussar paint scheme.

Finishing up a squad of Alpha Legion cultists, and putting some more basecoats on a Sorcerer.

Finished one Striking Scorpion Exarch and one regular Striking Scorpion Aspect Warrior, so only four more to do. However this does bring me to point I could field one unit of ten with an Exarch to the gaming table.

Apoc scale game of 40k, a nice outing for my (still) index Chaos Space Marines with a Tzeench theme.

On the side who came second, mistakes were made...

On the plus side a lot more survived than last time, thinking of tweaking this force specifically for Apoc scale games - little more mechanisation, swap out the cultists for smaller CSM squads to run the bastion and quad gun etc.

Started painting some Noise Marines. I've got a tighter deadline than I thought, because I'm actually going to loan them to a friend who's going to the LVO. I may not get to go to that event (this year anyway...), but at least some of my models will!

Painting the first batch of my Escher for the new Necromunda. After painting so many dudes in armor for the past year some minis with a lot of cool gear is ending up being pretty fun.

Just as a change of pace I primed a few old metal Harlequins.

Thought I was done assembling, so started painting. I tried the technique mentioned in Warhammer Community, primering a model in white, adding Jack Bone for the bone plates and then painting the rest of the miniature in shading paint.

It worked really well.

Last night I found a box of genestealers still on the sprue....

I've been working on the hammerhal set for a bit now and every single time i think i can say that it's a sort of finished, i find something that very much isn't.

Did the shading on my Vigilators while home sick yesterday. Tonight I'll be working on brightening them back up. Want to get at least the main armour finished.

Found my airbrush. Did three marines in glossy black but was too lazy to finish the job.

Did lots of work on my Typhus. All Base layers done...except for the flies. Still trying to work out what to do about these.

Continuing to paint Cawl and my SoB exorcist. Both of these models have become a slog. Another couple of sittings and they'll be done though.

Received Sly Marbo from my secret santa. Going to assemble him and finish painting my test reviers.

Of course to do that I have to decide if the list will be straight Dark Angels or Dark Angels/Iron hands. Decisions, Decisions...

Making objective markers,made and painted 8 concrete themed bases and made 6 industrial-mesh bases likely paint them later tonight,undercoated 7 battletech vehicles while i was at it.

Some highlights, detail work and gems on a unit of 10 Vigilators. If I'm lucky, I'll also be able to get the first layer of basing glued down before bed.

Assembled eight Chaos Bezerkers obtained cheaply, lacking backpacks but actually they don't look too bad as is so may paint and retrofit later.

Made more Objective markers with the 6 industrial bases i painted recently.

Adding grass and then snow to my Vigilators' bases to finish the unit off.

Once that's done, putting some initial base coats on Celestine and the Geminae.

Finished building the chaos side of the DV box for Mrs L, and later priming them to be painting in a slightly non-typical colour scheme involving purple..

Put together and primed another squad of sisters of silence for myself and started painting a metal bloodletter on juggernaught thats been sitting on the paint desk assembled and primed for about six years

Second attempt converting some Seraphim to Gemini. I think I need to add some spacers to make their swords look longer. If anyone has a Seraphim Superior they would like to part with, I am interested.

Work on 25 assorted sons of horus. Glued magnet to torso and legs of warhound that are strong enough i can lift it from torso and it stays together.

Took delivery of Escape the Dark Castle. All other hobby plans are now on hold for an indeterminate period.

I spent most of yesterday clearing out the side board in my office and taking it to the charity shop. I now have a Kitchen table covered in boxes of half finished and unopened projects. Today's job is to put together 2 new book cases to house them all. If I do get any extra time I'll continue painting Mortarion, who is just past the shading stage.

Down to FLGS, Mrs L is starting to paint up her Nurgle bits from the DV starter - the big drone thingy now has a base gold for its trim, she's also using a daemon prince model, thats got more paint on it than a council house, as a test model.

Gold trim for the armour and ribs in the wings done as base, wash, dry brush, then the wing material in hexed lichen as a base over the black to help warlock purple cover, though will need a second coat.

Odd colours for Nurgle, but figured why not - basically take the normal scheme and swap the green tones for purple ones


Meanwhile I pre-ordered the banana codex, cards and captain-general model, plus Greyfax to run with sisters of silence

I want to try and put a sort of RPG tool together, inspired by the nemesis system from the Shadow of Mordor games.

Essentially, it would simulate the actions of the villains as the party members adventure (usually after something like clearing a dungeon). This could lead to situations such as the villain taking over the party’s home base, or eliminating a rival villain. It would also come from randomized tables, so this would give the GM a bit less busywork.

I also want to add a sort of rank to the villains. This would have two goals. The first, would be to show whether the villains become even stronger and more significant in the plot (if the rank increases), or if the villain is having some doubts of their actions (if the rank decreases). This would also be something the GM would not be able to predict, giving something for the GM to be excited about.
The second goal, is to give random mooks that cause the party significant grief a chance to become more prominent characters in the campaign. If an orc archer manages to knock half the party unconscious, they would surely show a higher level of skill than the other mooks.

Trying to point 1k marines for a tournament

Primered them on Sunday and sprayed high gloss black on all the armor pieces last night. Next is taking care of all the non-armor details.

Finally have my Home office/Painting station setup so now I can actually get to work Painting the minis I got from the Conan Kickstarter.

Most of the evening will be spent running Starfinder, but I'm hoping to find a few minutes before bed to paint the Abaddon Black parts of Celestine and the Geminae.

Working on the wraithknight of my new eldar army. . . will probably do some spraying today, but still waffling/deciding on whether to do some extra work on the head for a midnight insomniac idea I had for it.

Started working on part of my Dark Angels. I am basically working on a DV set plus a set of DWK. I based them and base coated them. I'm really happy to be done the build stage. I really enjoy the painting a lot more than the building. I've tried to be diligent with the build and file/greenstuff everything. I've realized that I need some better tools for handling greenstuff. I find that it sticks to my dental tools, which makes it really hard to work with.

It's funny how whenever I'm working on a project I basically treat that as a green light to start planning my next project. I jumped in and bought a Tomb Kings army that I will add to when I finish my DA.

Couldn't get a game in last night (ran out of tables) so I spent some time getting a leg up on the detail work. I feel good about the high gloss black, but just need a high gloss sealent to finish it off.

Continuing detail work. Tonight will be tiny red stripes. I hate stripes.

Well fingers crossed later tonight il will be making a start on the newish plastic king tiger from warlord games.

Should be fun, built the wirbelwind and hetzer over the weekend. Can tell the hetzer is an older resin kit with the little lumps and bumps in the casting. The wirbelwind was fantastic, nice and crisp with no defects at all.

Although the quad cannon barrels did need holding while the guns set in place as they were able to move a bit too much.

Bolt Action night at the local shop.

The local Test of Honour campaign night got cancelled due to illness striking down the store owner's family, so I'm going to finish assembling a squad of Germans to finish the Konflikt 47 starter set I was given.

Then I'm going to break out the Ancient British I was painting for DBA and continue chipping away at them.

Assembling another Chaos Rhino for my Alpha Legion, and earlier I basecoated another with two coats of blue. I don't even need instructions to put a Rhino chassis together anymore. I could probably do it in my sleep.

Got a ton of detail work done last night, but still have a ton to do. The primaris marines are maybe 4 colors tops and quick, but the scouts are requiring a bunch of work for all the cloth, bionics, etc.

Made some objective markers,along with pre painted a dozen bases.

Been building the new plastcraft prison set, but I have to put it off to make the trip down to cancon. Probably be building it in the hotel room though, purely so we can play evening games back at the hotel

I made my first even 100% me 3d model, which I'm gonna print once I've cleaned it up for my RT Blood Angels.

Won an ebay auction for the Primaris half of Dark Imperium, so I'm painting that up as my first hobby project in about 4 years.

Its good to be back in the saddle so to speak!

I apparently completely underestimated how much work details on these scouts was going to be. Hopefully finishing it tonight so friday I can do touch up work. The vehicles are just going to have to be deployed as-is.

Built More Objective Markers and I'am now running low on bits due to the amount i have made lately,Painted 5 small Balsa wood Pallets.

Spent the whole day painting Celestine and she's 99% done. Now I'm stuck because I forgot to get a bottle of white glue at the dollar store yesterday to do the bases. Can finish up tomorrow though.

Today I've attempted to do blending on the majority of a model for the first time. It looks good for a first attempt. I'm sure that I will learn to be smoother with practice. My biggest issue was making the shadows look natural. Anyway, I'm happy with my work and I'm sure that I will get better with practice. One of the reasons I like looking at old work is to see just how much I have improved.

The second half of my tomb kings also got mailed out. I am contemplating whether to put them on round or square bases. The infantry on the first batch that I bought were based for AoS, but the chariots and necrosphynx were on square bases. I mainly want to play WHFB, but I could just look into movement trays that fit round bases. The other issue is of course that square bases have a smaller footprint and thus would give me a competitive advantage. I would be playing against other armies on square bases so I'm leaning that way. The other thing to consider is that it's easier to get scenic bases which are round. I splurged on nice bases for my dark angels and I am happy with the choice.

Almost done. Some more shading and touch up tonight and I'll finally have painted all 1000 pts of these marines

My evening will be boring for sure.It will be necessary to do a lot of homework

Base coated three boxes of Custodes(two of the regular guard and one Allarus). As well as some detail work on five Custodians with spears and a squad of Primaris Intercessors.

Played game of zone mortalis 30k. Now begin painting knights. Think I need those if I want to face typhon that's running around here. With pair of vindicators. My usual infantry based sons of horus would be in trouble and I'm short of AV14 busting...Knight or two would help there!

Trying to get the basecoat on my Knight's plating before it comes out for a tournament in...crap, three hours. Better get a move-on.

I did it. Got everything painted for the tournament. I did horribly, but it was nice being one of the only two guys with a fully painted army. Next up is to primer Cypher, whom I admittedly bought in a moment of impulse and don't even have the fallen to deploy him with.

Well finished off the turret for my bolt action king tiger so that leaves me with a spare Porsche turret for the bits box until I find a use for it. Got the tank primed too.

Started and almost finished the Opel blitz maultier. Although I’ve left the cab open to get the inside painted so until that’s primed and painted up there’s not much more to it I can do.
So the next step is to take the troop sprue and sculpt winter coats on them.

Bought a ton of new models. Returning home from deployment in a few weeks, got all my hobby stuff packed up. So bought some new stuff today to work on when I get home, in preparation for this years tournaments.

Around here its warmachine/hordes that you start with small (battlebox) and paint and play games and each week add to it. I have seen it done for 40k/AoS in other places and even malifaux.

It's a league i which my first game will be 500 points, but the value will rise until we get to a 2000 point list. In this manner new players can build their forces and older players (traditionally) use it as an excuse to bring out a faction they haven't dabbled in before. Warmachine and Malifaux have similar formats for onboarding new players.

Purchased a model from another member of DakkaDakka (pretre) in the Swap Shop. Went back to painting last 4 oop metal Rogue Trader Eldar Striking Scorpions. Been away a week and a half, so progress had ground to a halt on my Eldar.

Today, I worked a little bit on some Wraith stuff. . . This evening, I will continue cutting bits off of sprue for my bits boxes, only 8 more armies worth of bits to cut (got my IG "done" a bit ago)

Painting a Hive Tyrant. Should be tons of fun as I slowly add shade to the damn thing.

Ran a KoW tournament in Pretoria.

Before lunch, worked a bit on an Void Shield Generator for my Orks, I like what I got so far too. My materials hoarding really paid off when I realized I could use that textured packing carton stuff (they use it for Egg Cartons) for Adobe styled structures.

After being exceptionally lazy throughout January, today I've started the work engines.

-Stripped some metal marines.
-Assembled some CSM champions
-Cleaned/prepped lascannons and jump packs
-Cleaned/prepped a Leviathan dreadnought
-Cleaned/prepped a missile launcher system for a Whirlwind.

Now I just need weather where I can friggin' prime.

Now working on the next batch.

Finished up Ezra Miller Flash, and picked up the Midnight Stalker for Malifaux. Might put some more paint on my SWAT team, Gordon, Nightwing and Zatanna, but probably not until tomorrow

Attempting to convert a pair of intercessors to Primaris Lieutenants. My Iron Hands lieutenant may have borrowed a DA power sowrd :p

Tried out a clear base on a custom Biovore. I don't know how the heck I'd be able to attach a magnet, but otherwise it's a freaking brillant idea.

Worked on an alternate Repressor model last night to fit it on a Rhino hull. Going to be some sanding.

Painting yet more Green Stuff bits Pic below,slowly getting them all done.

Going to finish up my plastic ruined farmhouse for BA.

Doing some more work on Gordon and the SWAT, aiming to have Nightwing finished off tonight as well. If they get done I'll do some more work on Zatanna and John Constantine as well, so Jason Blood and Etrigan (probably my weekend project) will be all I have left to paint for my Brave and the Bold until Raven is out.

Put flock on my SW legion endor trees, which I made from paper towel rolls. Next time i'm gonna wear a mask, this kind of flock is finer than sawdust and gets everywhere and floats around in the air. Then I found out about flock workers lung, man there are all sorts of hidden dangers in this hobby. I even noticed the GW paints don't exactly say non toxic. They are ASTM or something compliant which is a way of classifying materials that have some toxicity. I've never cared about getting paint on my hands but I think i'm going to start taking more health precautions.

Despite some valient efforts by my local post office to rpevent it, Battlfoam was able to get my magnarack kit to me with only a few hours of harrassment on both our ends.

Assembled it and its working great. Now I need to see if I can find an easy way to magnetize the clear lipless bases I bought. I also have 28 termagaunts to paint, but feeling kinda meh about it right now

Working on the converting of some Seraphim to Gemini. I added some spacers to make the first one's swords look longer. Happy with this conversion and now I just need to make a pommel and some putty for a few small repairs.

Played game of 30k and started working on 6 plates of craters like these and 4 containers.

Crater stuff takes ages to harden. Hopefully does eventually

Oainting so Militarum Tempestus and trying to decided what to do with some VERY old MK III armour conversions i made when i was a lot younger.

Primed the first of my of converted Seraphim Gemini. Placed Asurman in his bath of Simple Green. Then going to sand some parts to make everything fit on my Repressor alternate.

I think a better question is what have you done today, since it's easy for me to say I plan on work on my models: my paints are just too left of me and my models are on the right; always set up to do some work.

Today I put some flame decals and hand checks on one of my yellow Ork Deffkoptas.I don't strictly need the kopta to be any more finished except that I needed to see what it would look like, next to other koptas currently in progress.
One of my detail brushes has reached the point where the edge of the brush is just perfect to pull paint down in a quick square block, and freehand checks of a certain size are really really easy - but the brush is sort of disappointing me for flame decals and I'll need to pick up a new one soon.
Visualization is really difficult for me to overcome with my freebooters, as it's kind of an experimental colour spectrum and lots of models get a unique treatment.

Probably just painting. I've been working with a Battle for Vedros box, and it's been a nice first experience with the hobbying of Warhammer.

After game of 30k got home and saw plaster-thingy had finally hardened so continued untill got to point i need some rocks to continue

With some assistance managed to get 17 in progress models to the point that they just need varnishing.

Finished assembling the Repressor alternative. It is far larger than all my other Sister's vehicles but it looks very close to the original FW model.

Got a batch of ten extra Custodian torsos/legs I want to try greenstuffing the Warden hip-cloth onto. If it works well I may break apart my Sagitarii and give them the same treatment.

It's primer day! I apparently only painted 20 termagaunts instead of 30...I really don't want to paint, but I don't want to play grey models either.

Finishing up the basing on Trajann and some Allarus Termintors and then gluing magnets onto the bottom of the bases of all my Custodes for transport.

More work on the two Sisters of Battle models. It is always good to get some coloured paint on models primed black, otherwise they can look so daunting sometimes.

Working on some Kings of War - Forces of the Abyss. Archfiend, specifically. Experimenting with light sourcing

Made a set of objective markers,painted some bits.

Trying to complete some piles of rubble.

Flatted and glued my last four assault marines, they're done.

Primed five bolter marines for the CSM.

Putting more touches on my Chaos Cultists and jump pack Sorcerer, and testing out some base adapter rings to make some of my models on 25mm bases into 32mm bases. I'll probably put a full review in my P&M blog soonish, but as of right now I'm very pleased with the results!

I've been working on a 1:200 model of HMS Nelson, one of two unique British battleships constructed in the 30's. The kit is immense, and at over 2500 parts is the most complicated kit I've ever or will ever work on.

Here's a quick idea of the complexity, first photo is one of the 20mm Oerlikon deck guns consisting of 11 individual brass parts, most of which have to be folded into shape before gluing. There's 62 of these fiddly bastards to make!



Today I was working on the A-Turret, housing 3x 16-Inch naval guns. Second photo is the turret along with a 40k Pilot for size comparison, again to show the complexity, look at the ladder between the gun barrels: every step on that ladder has to be individually folded with tweezers.



Finally, the last photo is the progress on the thing as a whole, with a Guardsman for comparison. The mast at the stern contains more parts than my Reaver Titan!

Bought a load of 1/64 monster trucks. Because Gaslands.

That battleship kit is awesome, FLGS carries them, would love one but have nowhere to put it.

Nor the skills to do it justice, hats off to you

I'll have limited hobby time today, but hoping to get some of the base layers down on my Custodes Land Raiders.

I'm going to finish off my Armageddon pattern Medusa ready for a tournament in May.

All I got left is 21 troops, 3 plasma gunners and 3 heavy weapon teams and a company commander I converted.

Buying dice, apparently.

I love to grab a big handful of dice out of that.

I also applied some highlights to my Overlords. I just need to edge the metal and apply highlights to the overalls and leather and they’re done. What are the paints above Mechanicus Grey and Mournfang Brown?

Finishing up my Chaos Cultists. They only need a couple more details and their bases done. There will still be more cultists to paint, but I'll do some other things first. I'm also getting started on three Nurgling bases to test out a paint scheme.

Building a squad of Kharadron arkanauts. Bits keep popping off and some of them won't stay on their bases once glued. I think the glue I was using is old so I opened a new bottle and chucked the original. Hopefully that fixes 'em.

Just starting to get over the flu...gonna mail out some X-Wing material today, then maybe rebase some old Bloodletters and paint some up. Just finished Skulltaker two days ago, he needs a horde of Bloodletters to lead to battle. I think 60 of the bastards are enough. Time to start the horde.

Trying to determine if I have enough Hormagaunts for the next week of escalation league and how assembled they are.

Working on a more permanent storage for my oop Eldar army. Making certain they will survive a future move.

Solved my airbrush issue. found a part of the trigger mechanism was bent.

Gonna airbrush today.

Brightened up my Overlords.

Probably will pick up a Custodes Codex and Offload a few more Legion of Everblight models. Maybe Airbrush basecoat some Chaos Cultists and a Chaos Terminator Lord.

Finishing the basecoat on a Mawloc if I can. Sure hope this model is worth it.

Finished my arkanaut squad.
Sheesh, what a pain. Thought plastic glue was old since stuff kept popping off. New glue didn't work much better.

Used superglue on a couple of models and they also didn't hold 100%. Weirdest thing I've ever seen about gluing models together.

Did a really small amount of work on Asurman. Need ideas on his back banner as well.

Finally finished my DZC UCM Flak Teams, and started work on my two Longbows.

Went whole hog on these guys. Partially assembled,primed,painted each bit, and then assembled the results.

Built and primed 10 Hellblasters, and 2 custom Dark Angel characters.

My new 40K army is now half built.

I finished the Picts in my Conan Boardgame. Now on to the Pirates!

Looking at my next project, I have finally started assembling and painting my test of honour miniatures.


Today, I have one samurai and six ashigaru musketeers painted. I have ten more musketeers, sixteen bowmen and three other samurai built and waiting for painting. I have enough parts to build about twenty ashigaru spear men and a half dozen mounted samurai.

I think the plan, based on the games we've played so far is to have 3 katana/spear mounted and unmounted samurai, and one or two with bows panted, along with 2 3-man bases of bow, musket and spear. When I get that done up, I can take my time with the rest.

I'm tidying up three 'done' miniatures. I re-armed my sergeant for my kharadron arkanauts so I had to paint the new arm and sword.

Also touched up two of my Goliath gangers. Added in plasma effect for the former gang leader. Added some more detail to my new gang leader.

Started painting up a Plagueburst Crawler. Love the model and can't wait to finish it

I am trying to finish my Tyranids (painting wise) and I am working on a secret army project for 40K that I started back in October 2017. Shooting for a May 2018 completion, three color minimum and full basing on all models, + decals and vehicle stripes, markings, etc.

Also trying to get up the nerve to finally start working on all the models from my Kingdom Death Box. Those models are so intimidating!

I glued the torsos of my two dreads to two different positioned legs one advancing and one straight, then to the 60mm bases which do look better than 50x50 monster bases they originally came with.

Entered the paint competition, to test out the new paint/ styles.

I am apparently stripping minis and trying to assemble some squads out of a terrible terrible trade.

Steel bases arrived for my 15mm ancients, so just finished assembling four stands of knights and priming the bases - should be finished tonight and ready to run in DBA tomorrow.

I have some unexpcted hobby time. Alas, what's next is magnetizing bases. Time permitting it's then swapping GW bases for acrylic ones on my marines. Kind of regretting some of my use of Zap a Gap on feet..

So packing slowed as I came to a conundrum...I have quite a number of models in the soft foam meant for the GW Hard Cases...but as I added extra foam inserts over the years to make storage easier without having to get more cases. As I was only transporting one army at a time to game. I have a need for a simple solution to pack those soft foam inserts. Anyone know of some boxes that would do the job?

Well, last night/yesterday I forced myself to paint four stupid dwarfs which have been sitting on my desk for a year (after an abandoned Mordheim project). I didn't enjoy it, and I'm not overly chuffed with the results, but of the 8 "desk inhabitants", I'm down by half.

Now if I can just finish three other fellows and then this big Ogre...MUST CLEAR DESK LINE.

I am painting up a tiny frog, which is not the easiest thing to do when you are low on sleep.

You have my sympathies, moved last year, still not entirely sure where all the stuff I packed came from. Ended up with a lot of A4 archive boxes and a mahoosive roll of bubble wrap plus a stack of the "really useful boxes". models in two or three layers on bubblewrap.

As for the soft foam bits, have a look at archive type boxes and see if any are roughly the right size, if ones a bit to long or wide stick a bit of bubble wrap or polystyrene sheet in there (or rolled up newspaper)

Built and painted another hive tyrant after sitting around for 2 hours and not being able to get a game in.

Just painted up an old Dire Avenger Exarch as an Autarch. While I don't agree with the Autarch placement in the Eldar fluff, I'd like to have access to one because I like this model, and he's a reasonably cheap HQ. I don't think he's any good but we'll see.

Still plugging away on my Adepticon forces. They are nearly done, with the only basecoating left to do being a Daemon Prince and a few more Cultists. Then I just have to put some texture on some bases, but that will be easy. Only worry there is running out of texture paint!

Finished painting the UCM Longbows.

I think the ink may have been a bit too thick at points so once I view them side by side with other forces may go back and mute it.

Just need to finish packing Guard, Sisters and Eldar and all my figures except a handful for painting will be stored away for months. (Although I think I will try to keep one army accessible so I can play some games...just do not tell Mrs Captain Brown)

I've managed to turn a stack of soot covered MDF into most of a large building today. Hope to finish it shortly.

...and another two-pound stack of MDF being slowly turned into a building. I sure appreciate the TT Combat levels of detail, but Christ they take a while to build. These are the last two of my big buildings to do. I will not be sad when they're finished.

Then I just have to wait for a dry/warm day to prime and paint them.
