And I apologize in turn for not getting a whole lot of work done on the gargant event so far. You know, I'm starting to get a small inkling of just what Smudge went through, though this is hardly as eventful, nor will mine be as jaw dropping.

The regular footsoldiers use their original names, unless they don't want to themselves (like the Alpha Legionnaire). The senior officers usually go by their title, as it reinforces the warband's hierachy, and because most of them have rather thoroughly cut all links to their past anyway.

It fits in with the characters. They have been their roles for so long, it's all that's left of them - service to something unnamed and unknown that they've taken on that aspect. Hell, they may even have forgotten what they were themselves, such is the path of a Renegade.
No songs in your name, no statue in your honour. Just nameless hatred and scorn from those who once called you brother.
Damn Smudge, I'm starting to think you know my army better than I myself do Your descriptions of the Remnants are always so apt, I'm starting to wonder if you might have really been touched by Chaos in the last Crusade...

Okay, thanks to BlackJack we have roll results. Will begin work promptly, but since this did take a while I'll offer some teasers.
Lamech returns and is mildly peeved at the Eldar.
Mordecai hatches a daring plan to cripple the Penal Legion.
The cultists deploy a new ally to counter the Wyrm riders.
And EoN drinks a lot of caffeine. But that was going to happen anyways.

Chazz / Inquisitor Randall its time for Orbital Bombardment and call our losses. Or maybe we need jus all the Guard. ( Second Imperial Army is an idea but maybe be a Knight House or release a full Cult Mechanicus Legion or Bloodmoon Hunters Company)

Ok, so I'm going to do this mainly for myself but also so you guys can reference. These are where my forces are basically at: Sharks: 1/3 of company stationed at Torcan and one Guard company (Strikebase Apocalypse) Rest of Sharks and Guard at Strikebase Armageddon (Where my icon is on the map) A small force at the Village of Darby (Clerth) doing things that you'll see in the next blurb Necrons: Underground beneath Yankor A small force underground at Tybalt A larger force (around 120-150 guys and about 9-12 aircraft) inside Hive Cogger under the control of EoN. Now I have no excuse for being lost EDIT: I forgot to mention that you all should expect some Tau goodies. PS: I have no idea what to color my Tau, any recommendations?

I don't know if a chaos portal ever really "works", but if there's a plot effect you have in mind, run it by the GMs. Fluffwise they've done everything from being daemon lighthouses to corruption centers to travel methods. But after the Webway Incident, don't plan on using them for travel.

It's mainly for travel between bases and out posts
It can't be used like a webway portal

That was Numek commenting on the troops Grulahk had already sent.
And considering the speed of Necron vehicles it would take but an hour to reach Cogger.
And also considering that Necrons are incredibly stealthy at night (minus the noise) it's safe to say the Necrons were arriving during or before EoNs last post

Maybe not incredibly stealthy, but stealthy enough to get into Cogger. I don't think the entirety of Hive Cogger is surrounded by the Imperium

More like flew past. Not much you can do to stop that, and Necron vehicles have been known to sneak by scanners before.

So, it is possible to slip into the place, but don't just go sneaking a whole army through. Drakka did roll a Victory on setting up a siege, so it's hardly fair to ignore that. If you want to try and break said siege, feel free, and then you can get your reinforcements rolling through again.
Also, I'm sorry for not getting the chunks of the gargant event out like I planned. I'm working on one of the bigger ones first, and today hasn't allow too much free time. I'm sorry to say it, but I may have to move the deadline back for finishing it all to Saturday, or Emperor forbid, Sunday. I've been working on this thing whenever I get the freetime, yet it's still not getting done as soon as I want it to be.

Well the reinforcements are from awhile ago. I needed to mention it so it's documented which is why he was referring to a past event.
And take your time BJ, good work takes time.
It is better to delay it and have it good, then to release it and have it be bad. You'll do fine.

On the TT? Artillery carriages, Thudd guns in elite slots, Earthshakers and Medusa in the heavy ones, use Engies for cheap troops and a not too expensive HQ.
In this? Numbers instead of names, no pity, no emotions, Kriegsmen use third person to refer to themselves, they're quite inhuman, close to Necron warriors. Its a bit boring to play as a role, but I had fun when I rped my DKOK Grenadier

So, I'm putting off the chunk I've been struggling with, and am working on a different one. Hopefully, this one will be easier. I'll go back to the first chunk later, once I've got a better grasp on how I want it done. That way, we still gave progress, and it is (hopefully) a better quality, because ut won't be so rushed. It'll probably go through a decent bit of editing as well.

Attention: Campaign Ad
I have been working on a unique type of campaign for the last few months and have it finally completed.
It is not a Crusade and does not apply to either the Charadon or Crion Crusades. It has no set timeline so it can be either before or after.
This is a campaign similar to 'Path to Glory' in the sense that you start off with 4 Units (1 HQ, 2 Troops, and another unit of your choice of slot [Hq/Troop/Elite/Etc.])
The very simplified and summarized background of this campaign is as follows:
-A world, Thardega, is a somewhat peaceful haven close-ish to the Damocles Gulf
-This world is attacked by the Tau
-Then a small Tyranid fleet shows up into the system.
-After a ton of warfare and what not, the planet undergoes immense natural disasters such as earth quakes, volcanic eruptions, and tectonic plate shifting.
The setting of this campaign is somewhat post-apocalyptic where writers will have the chance to get more in depth with their factions.
Since you're working with armies on a much smaller scale, you have the ability to really show what it's like to be the mook on the front lines.
I am not in anyway attempting to draw attention away from or deflate the current crusade that is going on.
If you are interested in participating send me a PM so I know, and please, be willing to write for both campaigns. If you don't feel like you can write for both then do not embark on this campaign.
Thanks for your time. If you have any questions let me know.

Troops:
10 Kabalite Warriors w/2 Blasters, Raider
10 Wyches, Shardnet and Impaler, Raider
Fast Attack:
6 Reaver Jetbikes- Heat Lance and Cluster Caltrops.

So I went to the local to watch the Ireland match and I come back to four new pages, dear lord.
Happy Birthday TS
As kharne has asked I will be writing the Chaos Super Friends meeting, problem is I thought Garathal could just fly in, apparently not so I will roll on it.

I can confirm our waffles to be genuinely delicious.
Although, to be fair, I haven't really had the chance to eat waffles anyplace else

We need a "COF: Meme Thread" All our subtext would fit right in

Kharne, we need memes before we can have a meme board. I doubt the Mods would let us have three threads for one topic anyhow.

Anywho, Smudge, I will put in my message for the Tau in my next Necron blurb. I'm not sure if I should write one before or after the Chaos Business Conference.
Also, IW themed Tau (I'm redoing the Rix'Lan)

Yeah, so basically imagine IW Tau that employ a large amount of Tarellian Dog Soldiers

Don't you worry - Sunstrike won't dare flat out attack, and will be very careful to ensure a "fair" fight between the Tillers and Loyalists.
Besides, I think that chazz wouldn't rely on you countering, as Scions don't tend to be so stagnant, but rather apply a negative modifier to my scores to show the morale boosts your Scions give to the garrison. At least, it's what I'd do.

How many Scions? I think that regular PDF forces would be most likely to hold the walls, with Scions hunting down Tillers within the walls or holding the main gates. There simply isn't enough Scions to cover the walls evenly.

2000 Scions and 5000 extra PDF plus the local forces that need a number

Dear Fellow Crusaders,
On behalf of Kroot kin everywhere, it would be greatly appreciated, and beneficial, if the new races being employed were deemed fit for Kroot consumption. This bringing in of new Tau and chaos has caused a new struggle for the kindred that cannot be stopped by theor skills as a soldier: hunger. Without enemies that are deemed edible, the Kroot will be unable to gain new genes, and will fall to stagnation. So, for the Kroot everywhere, feature some units that are edible, and preferably delicious.
We thank you for your consideration,
Grand Shaper Ta'lok

Yeah, in which case, I'd probably say that there isn't enough Scions to properly guard a whole city, fight off the main insurgent army, AND root out the rebels in the city?

It's why I requested extra PDF. As far as I know there is no army so to speak and Tillers are so keen on open conflict, I might be wrong

Coming to a fast food buffet near you:
Tau/Human Burr-meat-o
A nice tender limb wrapped in the other race's flesh! A filling meal full of Vitamin D, Protein and Iron (due to some drones being caught in the factory). Nutritional! Tau wrapped in human! Human wrapped in Tau! Tau wrapped in Human wrapped in Tau! Human wrapped in Tau wrapped in Human! The possibilities are endless! Comes pre-cooked (due to intense promethium and plasma burns)!
Warning - whilst Tau/Human Burr-meat-o is 100% free, you must brave the wall of pulse rifle fire first.

I have a question for everyone regarding this Crusade.
My Necrons utilize Dolmen Gates. http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Dolmen_Gate
I know it seems like Eldar Webway Fethery, but it's not.
Seeing how the portals are somewhat unstable, they can only be used to transport small amounts of units at a time, and no vehicles.
This is my primary use of transportation between bases and major outposts.
Is everyone ok with this?

The Tillers are inside the walls, as a covert force, but a main army is bearing down, under command of a Captain David Nassau , fresh from a victory at AHC-02.

I was wondering something similar for my Eldar. Say I wanted to get from moon 2 to Crion, how exactly could I go about it? I REALLY doubt the Eldar would take the human's space elevator, but I'm wary of using massed webway gates because I'd like to not cause issues with other players like the bit that happened with EoN when I showed up in his backyard with one.

Yeah, I'm not quite sure on how the Space Elevator situation is working out. It does seem to limit anyone not Imperial.
As long as territory laws are enforced (ie, no going into a besieged city, no deploying right outside an enemy fort without attacking it), I wouldn't have an issue.
