Also prepared my Grey Company list to now get finished painting, just need to prime 3 spear Rangers and paint 9 Rangers all up and that list is done. Been very productive in every way except for painting, hoping to do that this week

Building a Talon Master for my Ravenwing

Am working on some snipers from spectre miniatures for my us spec ops team. Multicam,,,, oh the joy.

With all of work likely canceling and it being a nice day, I'm gonna be doing alot of priming today

Father & daughter from Black Sun's survivors set. Just building and prepping today. The cap peak broke off (amazingly clean and scale-true resin casts), so that might look a bit off as I don't have proper lighting yet but fixed it as best I could.

Constructing the third of my (first*) three Sydonian Dragoons.

(* Such an awesome kit, I expect many more in my future!)

Started on Ork Kommandos. Dug out on old paint scheme for the uniforms so they'll be visibly different from the hordes of Ork Boyz. I'll be working on these buggers all week:

Bought a promising set of house delaque, these snakes will be the ones caught in the middle of a fire fight after being found sneaking around the sump looking for spook to pay off the underhive scum for doing their dirty work

Highlighting skin on 9 Rangers, and starting on browns/metals. Nearly have them done but motivation is drying up, so hopefully Grey Company leaks soon and gets me keen again

Yeah...And I'm not even done with titans. Which are getting 2 more reavers and 2 warlord weapon sprues...Well bodies can wait but weapon sprues I need fast painted. And then there's the rohan force. There's AT even in 16th and week later LOTR tournament. Though I don't know if they will add more tables enough to fit me in(long waiting list) but if I do I would need at least 1 army(well rohans are getting there), preferably 2(good and evil)...

Missed Evil Scarecrow last night, and still too foggy brained to build or paint :(

Fixed up some Warriors of the Dead, converted 2 Riders of the Dead, and started building a metal McMourning crew for Malifaux. Working on a variety of stuff but aiming to have my non-Fiefdoms LotR fully painted by mid week (9 Rangers, 16 Warriors of the Dead, King of the Dead, 2 Riders of the Dead and 2 Heralds of the Dead). Should be easy to do considering how quick the Dead are

Feeling far brighter today.

Have built two Plasma Annihilators, an Aurioch Power Claw and paired Laser Blasters. Lovely kit, and the weapons have a satisfying heft to them.

Didn't build anything. Just de-sprued and cleaned a massive amount of Sector Mechanicus flooring and struts. 58 of the things:



If you're wondering, that's the equivalent of 14 and a half of this sprue.

God I hate clean up on those!

Just starter Steelheart's Champions. I swear I will finish a box set I buy for once!

Then to top it off, painted the 2nd armoured container in a nice shade of blue, plus the barrels to match (third one will be green), and primed the crates

Forced myself to finish my last two Ork Kommandos. Now it's some quick Space Marine bike assembly for my Nobz.

I just completed a squad of the EZ build aggressors. Changed out the flamers with plastic card tubes and used hand crossbow bits from sigmarine scouts to make 'grenade launchers' for the back pack.

Well, still looking for a playable GK army at the 2000 pt level.
Research at the internet showed a few options but nothing convincing.
Will resume with list building later.

I’ve been playing at a 5 round, 2 day AoS tournament. I’ve had my ass handed to me every game so far, and there’s still one to go. I would like to say that it’s because DoK are OP, and that having your ranges reduced to 18” because it’s the shadow realm sucks, and that losing priority and thus being double turned is devastating, and that my opponent’s dice rolls are so amazing (five out of seven rolls score a 6, followed by two more 6s?), but the fact of the matter is, I think I’m just not very good at this game.

I've been assembling my SoH Reaver squad and painting my Wyches again finally.

Beginning to paint my League of Assassins crew for Batman. As they are fairly straightforward in terms of painting, I'm aiming to get the henchmen done before the end of the week, spending a bit more time on the big characters.

Played our group's first game of Gloomhaven yesterday. Cool game but that's easily two years worth of twice/month get togethers. And that's assuming we don't play other stuff.

Cut and primed a bunch of parts from Ork Warbiker, Space Marine Biker, and Iron Jawz to assemble three Nobz Bikerz. Now I'll be painting the organic bits.

Downloaded and played a game of D&D Momster Slayers : Heroes of Hesiod with the boy. (7) who loved it. Early into to tabletop RPG.
His little bro (5) wasn't interested but I got him flocking some bases for me and he enjoyed that.

Before heading to work put some magnets to reaver titan. After work primed 2 reavers. After gym will be starting painting. Only issue is i'm running out of airbrush cleaner

I am about to give up on organizing anything, moving three times in a year and a half has... kind of destroyed a lot of my collection and it is making me sad.

More paint work. Also weighing up the next game purchase...

More work on some Death Guard, having a "nurgle week", so far this weekend I've built and primed the DI lot, got the skin tone on the poxwalkers done (two coats of wash and a drybrush), got the base greens and golds on all the marines, the characters have other colours and washes added the rest are just at the stage of the black wash over the silvers

Wound up only getting a single model finished this weekend.
I had an extra Primaris Reiver that I decided to paint up to replace the Culexis Assassin from Execution Force. I'll still use the Culexis card/stats in the game it will just be the reiver standing in from now on.

I painted the Reiver in Word Bearer colors and used WB decals. and I'm waiting on him to dry before I put him in the Execution Force game box.

Yesterday, I've built a 5 men Devastator squad (with 4 missile launchers) from my fund of Tactical Marines (already on 32 mm bases).

Painting the 7th of 6 Goliaths.
I got the load-out mixed up, painted 6 models I thought were the right ones, then find out the 3-with-stubguns is 2 and a shotgun.
Doh. It's lucky I still have the pots out that I used.

Planning on finishing off my Eldar Support Platform and working on my War Walkers.

Now, I've converted the 2nd 5 men Tactical unit (on 32 mm bases) to a Devastator unit (2 missile launcher, 2 heavy bolters).
Very satisfactory with all the BA bits.

Got the Mantic Terrain Crate of interior terrain and am painting up all the little bits. Hopefully will get to the Kill Team Arena terrain as well.

Bit more on some Death Guard, touch up on the base colours then a brown wash over a squad and drone, then start on detailing of two characters with highlights to the armour base and metals, base coats for the bone areas and fleshy bits

Its the end of a weeks holiday bringing assorted models up to table-ready standard for Lost Patrol, Kill Team and Horizon Wars( using Adeptus Titanicus models ).

Work continues steadily with Mortis legion.

Played my first game of TT Battletech in over a decade.

Base design of my NDKs, the missing part in my GK army.

Was going to finish some Tzeentch Chaos Warriors but im missing some paint. Guess I'm going shopping for what I'm missing.

Also waiting for Greenstuff to dry on a bunch of bases I sculpted for my next batch of Bloodbound.

So, this is a little self-indulgent, but I forgot about this account for years until I decided to check up on it all of a sudden. I DID NOT expect almost 12k replies and a still active thread!

Glad to see I contributed something worthwhile to the forum while I was a teen, but I'm also taken aback. It's nice to know everyone's enjoying the hobby still! Personally I'm just as lazy as I was 6 years ago, so my daily update will have to be that I'm watching other people create amazing new armies from scratch, instead of doing it myself.

Working on some team Yankee stuff. Put a cobra gunship together with a higher flying base, as it’s a desert force the base was gritted and left to dry plus a palm tree put on the base.
Just waiting for my camels to arrive from battlefront. Yes this force is getting ready for some oil wars supplement action.

Cleaning up some crates I printed off from RocketShipGames. $1 for a shed-load of 3d patterns does the job when you want scatter terrain.

Finished my abominant. Wife bought me the jackal alpha leader or whatever her name is so that's likely next up on deck.

Continuing working on Primaris Crimson Fists. Base painted 10 marines, and washed 7 of those ready for highlights and small details. Hoping to get at least 10 marines finished over the next two days.

Doing more waterslide transfers, old Eldar helmets are a challenge as they are small and very curved.

Today I hope to finish the final coat of yellow on the last of the Tac Squads. Then it's on to the final detail pass for all 18 Tac Marines!

Then all I have left is bases, finish off the Captain and start on the Lieutenant and that completes the core of my army.

This will also mark a milestone for me that not very many mini wargamers can claim; I finished painting all my models before buying new ones! Haha!

Painting more Crimson Fists Intercessors. Finished 3 so far today, might be able to get one or two more done, then hopefully finish the squad tomorrow. Only got to do small detail and edge highlights on them all.

Creating AoS Skirmish lists to bring multiple copies with for fandoms to play at my local GW on Saturday. Gonna try to paint some after work tonight too; I’m thinking rats.

I painted up another Grenadier squad for my Bolt Action Germans. February was a very productive month for me. Two infantry squads, a Panzer II and an MMG team.

Building new stuff for my GSC.

Two Sanctus, a Killermorph, Abominant, 10 Aberrants, 5 Acolytes and a Jackal Alphus.

Helpfully enough, you don’t need to glue the Alphus to her bike during construction. That ought to make painting easier and more convenient.

Working on a squad of Volkssturm. It's really nice to be able to go a little bit more wild with the colors I'm using instead of just painting everything fieldgrey.

Finished magnetizing /building wave serpent, built eldrad, Based a ouple squads ready for priming hopefily if the weather is fine tomorrow.

Cleaned and assembled my Severina Raine, hopefully I can prime her tomorrow and then leave her on a shelf for some time to come before actually painting her.

Finished my general for my pike & shot Landsknecht army, gonna start building the rest in the moring, going to be nice to paint a lot of metal instead of a sea of cloth for a while after my English civil war armies

Starting to add waterslide transfers to another Eldar unit I repainted in 2018. It takes a long time for the varnish, micro-sol, varnish and then matt varnish.

I'm "rushing" to get a Warmaster army finished by the 15th of March for a tournament. I'm almost done with the four units of knights, but I still have four units of pikes, four units of crossbowmen, two units of halberdiers, and the heroes to finish. Luckily it's all 10mm, so it doesn't take too long to paint up. It's just super repetitive.

I'm procrastinating with a galvanic servohauler crane,

I need to paint it before I glue it together or else i'll never be able to get it done

but I can't bring myself to do it so I'm stuck with 6 undercoated sub assemblies

Primer!
A hsein HMG, shukra, Hot wheels buggy, 5 dwarf sharpshooters and a two handed hammer to convert a dwarf with a crossbow into a ranger. All ready to paint up.

Trying to organise the cupboard of shame into something slightly less shameful.

Might try and glue up a squad for a Kill Team later.

Finishing the spear on the titan sized Predator I'm working on

Right now the original spear was cheap resin set of bits that even with hot water I couldnt bend well enough. Used plasticard rod and drilled through his hand and added razorwire + various bits to sci fi it up

Assembled the "Dreaded Ambull" and its Borewyrms.

Some of the sprue cuts were in very awkward places but with experience I just took my time whittling them down. Thought it would be a 20 minute job but in the end it took almost 2 hours.

The fist its resting on was a b'stard to push in and so had to remove the top of the fore-arm, pop the fist on and then put the fore-arm back on.

The top of the model has a very visible gap between the back of the head and the top carapace. So I'll try and fill that in tonight, and if time permits give the model a grey undercoat.

Trying to figure out how best to put my Eldar into the foam inserts. Which Aspects fit in with other units to maximize storage and still keep units together.

Progress continues to be made on the terrain...



Everything is unglued, with the plan that is totally modular and can be assembled/disassembled each game. I even tested it out last night in my first game of Kill Team:










Following the test I think the plan for modularity is viable, but I will need to glue on the side railings. The rest (struts, pipes) can pop on and off just fine without damaging any visible paint.

I'd like to echo all the previous comments about painted terrain.

As usual my Thursday game group has crumbled to dust, so I primed some traitor Guardsmen (for Cultist use), and suitably broken one in the process - don't ask.

Will probably put some paint on them tonight if I don't come up with something better to do.

Painting more Volkssturm. I'm getting close to painting all of my WW2 Germans.

Greenstuffing my Helleniki for Arena Rex to prepare for painting this week

Today, I battled Mechanicus with my GK, 2000 pts.
After all, it was a draw.

Painted up a troop of dwarf sharpshooters from Mantic.

Building a lot of stuff that arrived this week while I didn't have glue (League of Assassins Batbox and the original Goreshade1), putting sand on Arena Rex bases and finishing up a few smaller details on some other League models

Finally getting around to finishing the Harlequin army I started painting in....May 2017.

It's not grey / dozens of random test schemes anymore, but still a long way to go.

Feeling motivated, I think I might even finish them before getting sidetracked into some other project this time. Maybe even get them based.

So the Sisters of Battle backpack required a bath in Simple Green to clean everything off so I could see where the cat got his teeth into it. So some epoxy putty into the teeth holes and then some sanding. Ready for re-priming now.

Oh and I posted an Army shot of my Orks in my Ork painting log now that the army is finished.

I built eight Bloodletters out of a pack of ten. I may or may not finish them tonight.

Making rules... Because, well, there's just not enough rules out there. Right?

Also, still glueing IG models together. My initial 'I'll paint them all in pieces and glue them up after' has been thrown out the window. With this many figures and my poor painting skills, it'd be the same anyway.

put the base colours on a FBD for my Death Guard, should be finished for a game Wednesday night it may or may not get on the list for.

also assembled and primed seven more plague marines to take me from a squad of five and a squad of seven to two of seven and one of six (I had a third squad leader).

Ambull started out an epic cock-up as I tried a jungle colour scheme but an accident has resulted in an effect similar to the Martinfly in The Fly II( one of my favourite horror movies! ). In this case Bob Ross speaks the truth!

More lost patrol adding the Ambull and its counters from its BSF set. Taken a few games to get a decent balance but well worth it.

Experimented with making industrial silicon/ cornflour moulds, in this case of a kind of fortress wall section made from Lego, I wanted to start with a basic shape. One mould has a flaw, but the process was fun and it's easy enough to try again.

The plaster is setting now, I'm curious to see how it turns out. I figure at the very least I'll have some scatter ruins out of it.

Eta - hugely impressed with how this turned out, and the flaw from the mold actually looks like shrapnel damage on the wall, which is great. Will be using this technique again, I'm considering plaster casting bits of a cheap action figure to suggest a colossal shattered statue.

Went through all my old boxes and finally found an unpainted Spare Marine to use for this month's painting challenge.

Doors and obstacles for Necromunda.
We might have a game tonight, and they have sat in the box since purchase on release.

Started painting the Rebirth variant of Ra's al Ghul for my League of Assassins. He's a great sculpt with a lot of detail, yet still paints up pretty quickly

I've been painting some guys that were lost in a box for a few months! I feel sorry for them.

I have been workin' on my zoggin' orks for Kill Team. I wanted to field field them last weekend, but didn't have even 50 points up to tabletop standard. I think I have just enough to do that now even if 5 of them are Shoota Boyz. They be Bad Moons so it kinda makes sense though.



I find that I really like painting Orks. Almost enough to field a small 40k army.

Just finished another session with the Ambull. Discovered nearly 20 year old inks(paints) today, and have put them to use on the model...absolutely incredible effect! The fine detail brush I purchased recently has been essential to keeping things neat. Bit stuck on what colours to use on the claws, hooves and mandibles but its something I can leave for now..

Painting them up as been quite fun. Kinda slow since I am using five or so greens for different skin tones and mix and matching about the same amount of colors vests and pants. Since it is a Kill Team amount it hasn't been too bad. I don't know if I would go to the same amount of trouble for a proper 40k army. Still, I almost want to pick up a Start Collecting set for the down the line and maybe make a small 500-1000 point army. I just got too many projects I want to do especially with the Chaos Space Marine rollout this year.

After a month long painting motivation drought, did a couple of layers an a World Eater CSM.

Just needs a couple of drybrush layers on the base to complete.

Painting a Khimerix (Drukhari Kymera) and an Ambull for Necromunda / Blackstone Fortress. I just finished the contents of the Blackstone Fortress game the other night.

Finished up my shukra (Infinity)and a (now) yellow buggy (Gaslands).

Ran my BMG tournament today (even number of players so I didn't get to play) but now finishing up my 4 Hassassins with final black highlights.

Painted some fantasy terrain from Tiny Furniture!

Tiny Furniture's Quest Board,Tavern Tables with Drinks, and Kennel with Dog. Also, WIP of Medieval Bath, Dungeon Garbage, and Medieval Dining Table.

Base is from Secret Weapon's Field of Screams (and, yes, I reused it!). Image on the Quest Board is the Thief concept art from TF's IGG "Tiny Market Square" project.

Game tile is the Galladoria Game's Adventurescapes Kitchen and Inn set.

Reposting GG's 2018 Mimic, Rock Wurm, and Adventurescapes Tavern and Kitchen, in case I forgot...

Have been building and seam-cleaning some of my Conquest bits and pieces, but my flatmate was testing some new cocktails and the moral of the story is don't drink and model or you'll end up having to superglue your thumb pads back together.

Finished my Sector Mechanicus terrain - big project, but I'm happy how it came out:





It is all fully modular, so essentially allows for an infinite amount of variety. Some sub-assemblies done for practicality, but I think it will work fine. Also, managed to fit it all on the
allocated shelf!

Played our first game of Frostgrave in several months and had a blast. Sorting out my current model projects and not buying anything beyond paint, glue, tools, etc. until I'm caught back up.

Starting on Malcolm Merlyn, Damian Darhk and Liam Neeson Ra's al Ghul. The last of the "drab" League of Assassins I have to do before I get into bright colours and fancy costumes

On another note, really happy with my uni timetable this semester. As people have probably noticed I've been doing a lot more hobby now that my timetable helps that, and with doing primarily external classes I have plenty of time to hobby while I listen to lectures

One last push! I've got a brigade of pikemen to finish for Warmaster. 12 stands with 10 men apiece, but luckily it's all 10mm and the paint scheme is pretty simple. Then it's just the heroes and I'm good to go.

Decided I needed a break from painting brown and black on repeat, stopped painting Merlyn, Darhk and Neeson and am now painting Argos for Arena Rex. Get to play around a bit with things I don't usually do, so it's fairly enjoyable.

Ready to seal my last two Sisters of Battle infantry figures...just in time for them to come out in plastic.

Cleaning up some space marines bought off eBay.

Painted up the remaining 4 members of a Deathwatch Kill Team

When I get home today, I'm doing priming my 2018 Noise Marine, doing the dishes (ok, not hobby related, but the primer needs to dry), and then starting work on him!

I was to spray paint more marines but the weather is against me.

Continuing on my Helleniki for Arena Rex. Just needing a few more things and they're finished. I have since completed the red and gold since this photo, and basecoated the rocks. Very proud of the bronze shields as well

Almost finished building the achiles scout vehicle for GSC. It's a nice model but I screwed up the side panels. Fortunately the gaps are beneath the model and it's on a base. Still (Grrrrr).

Just finished these in the last few days/week.

Blackstone fortress.
Shadowspear.

Got shokkjump nearly painted(base is empty yet though). Worked bit more for evil sun battlewagon. Assembled 8 nobs(6 with big choppa+choppa, 2 with twin choppas) for evil sun. Need 2 more twin choppa built. Took out 29 boyz+nob to be primed that will be 3rd evil sun mob. And took out spare sprues that have been lying around that will be made 30 shoota boyz(well 29+nob) for deathskull + 6 rokkits for deathskulls(so with my 3 mobs each could get 2 rokkits each to benefit from rerolls).

WAAAGH! Once my current painting plans are finished orks will be strengthened by:

30 evil sun boyz
30 death skull boys(plus options for rokkits) (with these units I will then have total of 8 30 strong ork mobs painted. 3 evil sun, 3 deathskull, goff, bad moon)
10 evil sun nobs
10 goff nobs(plus banner)
evil sun battlewagon with deathrolla
shokk jump dragsta

And waiting for the 2 shokkjump and 3 scrapjets to arrive.

This is about 1600 more painted orks for about 7000-8000. Need to do recalculation one day to see how codex exactly affected me.

6 More minis are now done and off my table. I'm continuing to make progress on clearing off all the stuff stuck on my desk for the last year.

Sifted some sand for basing and sorted some gravel/rocks. Doggie bagged them up.

I'm mass painter at heart Though will take some time. But painting even bit different colour scheme helps. And I have several units so I can paint what fancies my heart at the moment keeping mass painting not get too boring. Right now I'm doing simple steps for the battlewagon. VERY simple drybrush stages and be damn careful seeing I'm somewhat drunk ATM!

Played 1k of 1st edition AoS last night.
Finishing the basing and decals for Achilles scout vehicle for GSC.

Primed and put in grey coat for 65 ork boyz, 13 nobs, dreadnought and Badruk. Also started working on 83 25mm bases, 2 40mm base and whatever the new ork buggies use for base.

WAAAGH!

Oh and played draw vs eldars. Was bit hurt by cold maelstrom card deck when you had most cards and made 2 value judgement errors. Much to my surprise was ahead in kill points though despite mek guns being easy kill points.

Finishing Argos, Archidamos and Theophania. Just need to highlight leather and hair and they're all done

Worked on my limited edition Noise Marine. Spent about 3 hrs so far, and it’s only mostly base-coated. I’ve basically decided I’m gonna do the absolute best paint job I possibly can for it. I want it to be my best model.

More work on orks! So far have put in first coat of flesh + biel tank green wash over them and bases are approaching done as well. Once they get done I glue models onto them so that I have them actually standing on something!

Hoping to start work on that and maybe highlighting skins tonight still.

Painting an AoS Necromancer. This model has been a blast to paint because I got to experiment with new techniques and colors that I haven't tried before.

Painted up a monster truck and a VW pickup (it is now yellow with daises) for Gaslands.

A game of Adeptus Titanicus, but we messed up on following the rules we quit half way. It was at least a good learning experience!

Finished 3 of my 4 Arena Rex models, greenstuffed quite a few things (Rebirth Talia al Ghul, a Lazarus Pit objective, comic Captain Boomerang and 2 Gorillas) and started work again on Malcolm Merlyn, Damian Darhk and Liam Neeson Ra's al Ghul.

Worked further on this: 4 hrs in at this point.

Just assembled and started spraying some chaos marines silver. I just panic bought a couple of start collecting sets and some chaos marines when I saw the old chaos marine squad gone on the GW site. I'm not cool with upscaled marines, my terminators will look silly with regular 13 point chumps the same size as them. I also have the metal IW warsmith ready to go too, he'll look even sadder if he's literally the smallest guy on the table

Finished skin, now doing metals. Took holiday from work so plenty of painting ahead!

Done some writing for my blog and painting Merlyn, Darhk and Neeson

Primed all but one of my Space Marine characters.
