I'm kind of surprised that not many people have posted pics of your parts in use. If you don't mind, I'd like to share some of mine. Thanks to your parts I've been able to get these guys going. Granted, they aren't 100% Anvil, but they are at least 50%. When I get my next order from Anvil in, then I'll have some completely Anvil original figures to post.
He's using Anvil arms, legs, base, and backpack, GW torso, FW rifle, and Maxmini head.
This one is still WIP, but he's got Anvil arms, legs, weapon, and will have an Anvil backpack and base when he's finished. Head is Maxmini, torso and shoulders are GW
The detail on the scenic bases is incredible and the quality of the sculpts in general is downright amazing. All of the other 3rd party stuff I've picked up, and even some of the GW parts have had some issues with misaligned bits, poor casting, or air bubbles. I've had no such issues with any of these parts.
I can't wait to see what your SWAT styled Steam Lords are going to look like. Some truly tactical Tactical Marines would be pretty nice.
@Barzam! Cheers for the photos mate! They look awesome! Posting photos of my stuff in this thread is positively encoraged! Even where just used as conversion parts.
These are the first photos Ive seen of the new style legs, and the modified SAW looks great!
Thanks for the kind words about the quality!
I cant say we never ship parts with small air bubbles or mould lines, but we certainly try as hard as we can to ensure every part is perfect.
You wont have to wait much longer, Im hoping to get the first WIP Special Ops Steam Lord photo up later this afternoon.
New Leg armour style, new "tactical vest" torso with different optional accessories, new compact shoulder plates, and a whole raft of new equipment accessories.
This guy is perhaps a bit TOO laden down with kit, I got carried away and blu-tac'd on almost everything that could fit!
This new stuff is a pretty radical departure from the historically styled steam lords Ive previously released, what do you guys think?
@Hulksmash - Yeah I know, got carried away, most of the accessories will be separate peices, so people can make the figures as kitted out as they like or less so.
Ive not quite figured out the exact format yet.
@Derek - of course, this is just a preview, Ill be putting up much more detailed info in a couple of days.
@LDD - Im waiting on the mould, hopefully later this week!
Personally, I think it looks great - modern marines have as much or more kit. a quick google search shows this: among others, and this isn't even the most loaded up soldier there. You have food rations, ammo, weapons, knives, torch(es), medical pack, etc. And that's without geneboosting and powered servo armour.
The kitted out mreen looks good - Marines that have finished the initial lightning strike and for whatever reason are now in a shooting war.
I actually like the overloaded with gear look. Imagine you're in that power armour and you're operating behind enemy lines on a jungle planet and every time you kill someone, you loot them for useful stuff. A figure that overloaded with packs and gear would look great all weathered and muddy.
He just needs a cool helmet to go with all that kit! I am thinking something with a bunch of optics? (Think that cool csm helmet with the three lenses) Either that or just a bare head would do it, ooh, and a gear-laden backpack to go with it as well! Why can I never satisfied with all your releases?!
Love the "Black Ops" preview model. My only concern is how modular that pack-laden torso is - it's the kind of torso that looks fabulous on one model but terrible if the identical piece is used on a whole squad. Either you need half a dozen similar-but-not-identical variants, or some sort of clever modularisation ability.
Glad you liked the minis. They've been quite fun to work on.
The Spec Ops marines looks pretty friggin' awesome! I will absolutely order some. I do have a concern though. Is he going to be getting some unique arms? The medieval arms are great, but Ive noticed that the fit on GW torso is a bit snug, pretty much due to the raised detailing. So, is that going to be an issue with this torso if you've got the gear added? Also, about the torso, is that gear pre-attached or did you attach it all? And will he be getting a unique helmet at all? I'm kind of thinking something like an armored riot cop's helmet with an integrated gas mask would be pretty neat.
Also, with regards to general items, do you think there's a possibility of doing a backpack for heavy weapons troops? Something modular possibly, so for instance a SAW gunner using it could have spare ammo, or a plasma gunner could have spar energy packs.
Thanks everyone for the feedback! Im a bit overwhelmed by the postive reaction this previews getting here and on facebook!
@Cowface - its on the list of things to do.
@LDD hopefully this week but I honestly have no idea.
@kenshin620 and Commander Cain -
Yes I think some modern "special ops" helmets are what these guys deserve! Not sure when Ill get them done though, as the Praetorian and Predator Helmets already work well.
@Dmyze and Clang -
Some of the pouches are sculpted on already - I will be making 5 different varient torsos with different kit combinations so they are not modular, but wont all look the same.
@chronepsis - they will be available to order later this week or early next week.
@Barzam - not thinking about heavy weapon backpacks at this stage but im sure I will when I do some more heavy weapons - which are coming up.
I am making some new "high tech" style arms for these new guys, as the medieval arms dont really fit the look.
The torsos are actually designed narrower before adding the pouches, so the existing rifle arms DO fit over the top with a bit of shaving the detail under where the arm will cover it.
OMG - Marines just got super Bad ass, Sternguard will look epic in a rig like this!
Deathwatch Kill team, equipped to the Max - Tyranid Hunters, Space Marine Scouts, Alpha Legionnaires/ Operatives, the list of epic conversions goes on and on.
....... when will these be out so i can ruin my wallet again oh and quick thing seeing as gw limits us for how many parts we can use from other companies is it possible to get helmet equipment like say googles and such that we can put on normal marines?
HAZZER wrote: looks like a bit too much stuff tbh...
I disagree with that strongly. I spent 8.5 months overseas and every time we left the gate we had just as many pouches, if not more. (though admittedly, trying to do a triple mag pouch for a heroic scale model is never going to work.)
This isn't too much kit, it's just that no one is used to seeing Power Armored minis carrying ammo. The great thing about being the good guy is you never run out of ammo regardless of how long you've been shooting. It looks really well done and very cool. The only thing that's upsetting would be using two handed weapons that cover up all that great work. I'd probably use one handed systems whenever possible to show all that off.
Im planning a Kickstarter later this year, but for a completely different project - and nope, no details, I need to develop and test the manufacturing technology first before its a definate.
Making plastic miniatures isn't something I've thought about or plan to do, just because I'm really keen on high quality figures, and its just not possible to get the same level of quality with plastic as with resin.
I know they would have more mass market appeal, so its a possibility for a few years time perhaps.
@Emperor Bacon - Im hoping to have them completed and released by the end of next week, but no promises, there is quite a lot to do!
I will be releasing the parts separately, but also a squad of miniatures fewer parts - allowing me more flexibility with cool poses.
Small parts like goggles are just to fragile to cast properly in resin, sorry!
@noneoftheabove0 - These will fit with regular rifle arms, but as I said Ill be doing a set of complete figures, which will include a lot of poses leaving the chest detailing exposed.
There is some ridiculous commentary against this kit over on TTGN regarding how "overburdened" the model looks - apparently no one there has watched news about any recent conflicts that have occurred in the last decade. Anyway, vets here have already remarked about that, so....
My only criticism of this kit is that there are not more obvious ammo-pouches - Astartes mags are big. I see the holster for his side-arm and immediately think that is exactly how that piece of kit should appear, so please consider some larger ammo pouches.
Alternatively, you could design various drum- or large box-mags that could be attached to the Astartes back-pack and connected directly to the... ammo-well? (sorry, I'm just a citizen) via an armored feed similar to those on the current Devastators offered by GW.
Nope sorry, the release shedule is jammed full to bursting for at least the next 6 months!!
@Ovion - Cheers, the various bits of extra kit will of course be available separately in various forms.
@Scott -
Thanks for your feedback. though I must point out neither figure nor ammo mags are "Astartes", it being a GW trademark.
The basic problem with spare ammo is that the guns im working with are heroic scale, this means the mags are 3 or 4 times larger than they would be in real life, so it looks comical to put them on the chest piece.
I image the pouches have food/equipment/medical supplies/grenades etc in them.
Rest assured the final models will have plenty of regular ammo, Im looking at options to put a couple of mags on each side of the power plant for example.
Im also experimenting a bit to get the balance right between a realistic burden for a special ops trooper, and avoiding making the miniature look to cluttered.
I agree that Mag Pouches for the Steam Lords might be too big, especially on 28mm models. Remember these mags will be the size of their arms! Imagine the Double Tap ammo pouch
Hey in my experience not every Magazine pouch is for magazines (Hmmmm What ? you are all saying). Well mine sometimes had pocket flares, signalling equipment, extra smoke Grenades, spare batteries, PRR etc. Having a modular Chest Rig is useful, but I prefer lying down closer to terra-firma, so prefer hip pouches, modern body armour makes it bloody impossible to keep low to the ground, plus a chest rig makes life bloody uncomfortable.
With Space Marines, they aren't really bothered about diving to cover, they carry their own cover in the form of their Armour. Therefore they aren't bothered, about lying down, so covering their armour with pouches is a no-brainer. Remember you don't know where your next re-supply is coming so carry as much as you physically can.

Hi Joel , REALLY excited about the Tactical Marine , I think a rifle magazine pouch is a cool idea , just mold it up separate and let the purchaser decide where it goes ! (no disrespect intended !!) These could then go on the waist or upper legs even.
How would the marine reach it if it were on his pack ? LOL. When you NEED ammo , you tend to NEED it quick !
Bolt Pistol holster is the dogs obvious.
IMHO all these pouches look GREAT and would fit just fine with a little shaved of the back and figure to "settle" them on to the model !
How about some half armoured legs for scouts ?
GW will be getting very little of my cash in future WELL DONE SIR !!!!!!
Hi guys. I wanted to bump this thread since I got my second order and I've been slowly working on the stuff I got. Been slow going since I'm preparing to move, but between that and work, I've managed to bang out a few new ones.
Anyway, part of the reason I'm posting these pics is because I really haven't seen any size comparisons of the MOTN. So, I figured I'd go ahead and post two of my finished MOTN cultists with some fairly common figures from other ranges.
The praying cultist is ever so slightly shorter than the heavy weapons cultist. I tried to go with a Nurgle scheme for him, but I think he turned out looking a bit like an Infardi.
And, as promised, here's the first of my all Anvil marines with his cultist buddies.
Color scheme based on the Barzam Mobile Suit from Zeta Gundam (that robot in my avatar). He's got four buddies coming up.
Also, here's my latest Plague Marine conversion with a good chunk of Anvil parts. The Anvil ammo clips and drums look great on GW Bolters BTW.
I couldn't afford my Anvil order this week. Of course, it wasn't until later when I realised that there's a free shipping for £50+ - so I might make a running series of orders every payday instead.
Joel - I like the Cyborg Steam Lord set, but is there any way to get different helmets with them? I'm not real partial to the skulls, as they won't fit with my forces.
Sorry Ive been a bit under the radar lately! Ive been working very hard on an upcoming release (Below).
@Barzam -
Thanks for posting up those photos! very useful scale photos, and awesome looking Steam Lords! Nice work.
@Azazelx -
The cyborg set is a fixed deal, but you can put together the set with the "build your own" product and its only about £1 more expensive - and you get shoulder pads and can choose the exact combination of parts you like.

NEW "BLACK OPS"
For those of you who dont have facebook, this is the new preview/sneak peak for my upcoming "Black Ops" release.
Im really excited about it because its a totally new direction for Anvil Industry - new modern/high tech style for the figures based on modern day special forces, and also Im making them up as a full kit, with 4 components per miniature, which makes them a lot easier to assemble, and allows me a lot more freedom to design cool looking poses.
Im hoping to release the new kit toward the end of next week - Initially a set of 10 figures.

Hey Joel. Unfortunately it works out to be a fair bit more than that in the BYO sets, since the cyborg sets also have arms and guns. I might have to go with those and just bin the heads.

Just ran it through, its actually 10p cheaper!
Unit body set with cyborg legs, your choice of head, torso and power plant, with no shoulder pads is £8.40
Rifle arm set (from the same section) with bionic arms, carbine and curved mag is £5.
Grand total £13.40 per 5 miniatures.
Order away before I come to my senses and ramp up the prices!
Just thought I'd leave a little bit of feedback about an order I placed with Anvil. Yesterday morning I ordered a rather large amount of guns from Anvil and they arrived today. I'm really impressed by that.
For those who are wondering I ordered 30 exorcist carbines (with stick mags), 3 exorcist rifles (with stick mags, sniper scopes and silencers), 10 ion rifles, 4 rail guns, 4 revolvers and a pack of battle axes. That's a lot of stuff to sort out and ship in one day.
@ Nick - Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback.
We manufacture everything in house, and a combination of keeping good stock levels, and Just In Time manufacturing means we are able to dispatch 90% of orders within 24 hours. 4pm is the rough cut off for same day dispatch - Monday to Friday at least!
@Target - Apologies for the delay, we are still waiting on receiving the mould from the 3D printer, as soon as we have it and can get some test casts we will put them up for order.

No problem at all, was just curious! I already have a backlog of I-own-too-many-toys to keep me busy for a couple years

Well Joel, let me just add that I will be placing another sizable order soon, I expect similar rapidity.
Replacing every gun on near as makes no difference 90 models for my Imperial Guard army based on the old Warzone Imperial plastics is time consuming but it's going to be worth it. I just threw together my first guardsman using your rather excellent parts and it's a massive improvement on the stock weapon. Now to get the rest of the first platoon done so I can place the next order.

Huh! I apologise.
I had never noticed the option to not get shoulder pads (is that new?) and I was reading the rifle + arms set just as "steam lords rifle set" - without noticing the arms part or the fact that you can get cybernetic arms in there. My fault. The order will have to wait until next week, I'm afraid. Fortnightly pay and all...
Our first complete miniatures set designed from the start to be a set, - much easier to assemble than previous Steam Lord kits and still loads of options for customisation!
Sergeant and Scout
Grenadier and Sharp Shooter
Two Assault Specialists - one sneaking up on an unsuspecting Sentry.
Here is the Product page with loads more photographs of the parts and assembled miniatures-
Looking good! (But I knew it would. )
Will have to order some later when I have more monies.
Just need to wait for the smaller option based entries to go on sale so I can buy for my Kill Team now....
My my you have been busy, it's like Christmas all over again! These guys are making it into my next order for sure. Might have to wait for the autocannon and missile launcher to be released first though.
Loving the new backpack (will you be selling that separately?) arms and pads. Accessories are brilliant as well, I was going to model some double ammo clips but you beat me to it!
RiTides wrote: I don't know... they're even more squat than GW proportions, right? Would be good to see a comparison pic.
What gave you that idea? I can promise you, the proportions are exactly the same as your average space marine. You might see them in slightly more scrunched up poses but that is a result of the legs being in a more active position. I would snap a pic for you but I just sprayed all of them and now they don't photograph too well!
RiTides wrote: I don't know... they're even more squat than GW proportions, right? Would be good to see a comparison pic.
My previous Anvil orders have all had pretty much the same proportions as GW figures. I think it's all of the extra pouches and ammo clips and so forth glued on top that make them appear more squat than GWSM figures. My only critical feedback from what I've seen so far would be that the "grenades" strapped all over that grenadier model seem to be about the same size as GW missiles rather than 40mm analogues, but since they're seperate, it'll make it easy to convert one into a Missile trooper using a spare Missile Launcher arm.
I'll be ordering a set of these next week.
Joel - Please consider making a box magazine variation of the SAW. It'd go with these guys perfectly, as would a "modern machinegun" inspired SAW/M240/M60 that fit in with your current modern-looking weapons...
there very nice but the one piece bodies kind of put me off. now if you modified these to have soft armor for the arms and the thighs and back of calf i would have found a scout replacement for my wolves. hint hint!

Yes, but GWSM figures are too squat for me already :-/ so being "exactly the same as your average space marine" means wayyyy too squat to me!
But I will grant you guys (since you've seen them / their products in person) that they're not More squat... just similarly out of proportion.
I love my heroic scale, but with the exception of dwarfs, I want my minis signifcantly taller than they are wide...
Joel mentioned at some point in the past that he will probably be making "truescale" Steam Lords at some point in the future. They might be more your speed.
I don't know exactly how these Blops figures will turn out, as I don't have them in hand.
@Commander Cain - about two-three weeks for the new heavy weapons and Black Ops Suppression Fire Support team.
Most of the different option parts will be available separately next week, just need to find the time to make the sprues and moulds up.
@Asherian - Yep I think the heads will be a popular separate option hence why they get their own sprue!
@everyone discussing the scale of these figures - A "straight legged" miniature stands 33.5mm tall to the top of the helmet. the figures in the kit range around 31-33mm to top of head depending on pose.
In terms of the proportions compared to the GW plastic Marines - the height is the same, the body parts tend toward being less bulky, but the added pouches and equipment bulk these figures out a fair bit as has been noted.
Ive not had dedicated legal advice about taking and using photos of GW miniatures, so at this point im not willing to risk it, but im sure a customer will post up a comparison photo or two at some point.
@Azazel - Ill look at a box mag SAW - im thinking I might just make the new autocannon with two barrel options - long and stubby, to make two very different looking guns!
The grenades on the grendier are molded in place - as that rifle only fits on that model (due to the hand placement under the larger rifle/GL).
the grenades are actually exactly the right size to fit in the launcher - GW make their missiles far to small in my personal opinion! My missile launcher will have proper beefy missiles.
@LDD - Im not at all sorry. Enjoy the kit!
@BrotherKarr- Its always a trade off - fewer components mean I have more freedom to make interesting miniatures, and also MUCH easier to assemble the figures.
I did 10 different sculpts so that even with one peice bodies there is still loads of variety in the squad, even before the swap able guns and heads.
I will be making a "recon" version of this kit which you will like
I can take a picture of an unbuilt Bad Santa next to some mreens if people want.
(I know, it's shameful... but I acquired 3000pts of DalekCrons over christmas, and it got a little forgotten....)
Bad Santa doesnt even take that much to assembled.. just stick the gift under the foot and base him :p
He is made of Steam Lord components but not that accurate for scaling, I should post up a photo of the black ops next to some existing Steam Lords, Ill try and get that sorted out.
If you guys don't mind waiting until tonight, I can snap a pic of one of my Steam Lords next to a GW marine.
If only I weren't moving tomorrow. Then I'd go ahead and buy these figures now, but now of course money's going to be really tight. I guess I'll be waiting until I at least get my next paycheck.
And I noticed you've changed the name of the line to Exo-Lords on the site. Will we be seeing a trend towards more high-tech designs with the name change?
Well they should still be on sale in a few weeks/months! Hopefully with some more BLACK OPS squads - Id like to do recon, command, and veteran unit options, but not immediatly - Ive got a few other projects to work on first.
Yep Ive gone with the name change - from now on Ill be working on units based in my planned game setting, which is set around 2350 ish, so a slightly more high tech look to some of the newer stuff.
"Exo" instead of "Steam" conveys the background im angling toward better.
Really, really great stuff, if your forthcoming human 'regiments' range is anything as cool and contains as much little details as these i may well be poorer for it for a long time to come. Maybe poorer in the short term too as i might wanna pick up a Fireteam just to hold in my sweaty hand and drool over.
Okay, I said I'd post a size comparison between a Steam/Exo-Lord and a GW marine. It's a little late, but here you go.
Unfortunately, most of my stuff is in the process of being packed up, but thankfully I happened to have 1 Anvil figure and 1 GW figure, both still WIP hanging around. You'll notice that the Anvil figure is juuuust ever so slightly taller. I think this is more to do with the fact that the Anvil figure is standing straight up though while the GW figure is squatting slightly. Still, proportions are pretty much the same.
And, I apologize, the picture isn't the best, but it is 1:30am right now as I post this.
@Viking Child - Thanks very much! Glad you like them. And yes I certainly hope the Regiments range will be just as high quality if not better!
@Barzam - thanks a lot for posting that! Much appreciated. Yes I think GW legs actually come out a little longer than mine, but mine are generally more upright so the overall height is 1mm more or so.
@Jehan - Cheers! I have lots planned! to much to list here, Ill get it all done asap!
@Charax - See you there! We are really looking forward to it!
@Synthetik - Its based on the "triple plate" torso, but extensively modified. I may release them separately at some point.
Hey Joel, I recently purchased some glaives and shoulder pads to convert some of my minis. Just want to say the quality of the products were great and arrived fine despite coming from across the pond.
Someone might have asked about this before or something but I was just wondering if you were looking into doing longer staffed Chain Glaives? The ones you already make are great for normal space marines in terms of size scaling but I was wondering if there were plans to make any that were larger, longer sized ones to be used on units like Terminators or HQ characters in 40k possibly? The current ones look sort of small and comical if I were to try and use them on some Terminators for conversions.
You ever think of using dollmaker to make a quick "make your own marine" page? (I could even do it in exchange for some marinies)
something like: http://dragonflyteam.free.fr/pimpmyairsoft/
Its kind of a pain to browse around and find what you want, but I think a nice labeled doll page could really help people choose

Now that's not a bad idea! It would need a regular updating with all the stuff Joel keeps releasing though.

GUESS I GOT A PART TIME JOB?
lol, literally he takes pictures already, he would just have to take them from roughly the same angle and make white = transparent, and be done with it, takes about a minute for each pic.
God help me I just put in an order for several hundred dollars.
If you could possibly get a pack of guardsmen sized pre-built bionic legs that would be awesome. Buying the 15 piece set in lots is bad enough based on cost but the time I'm going to spend putting 35 sets of legs together is going to be insane.....
Yeah man, its been over a year since the Guardsmen project was suppost to be in full swing. Oh well, I understand your an indie dev, just very dissipointing.
The spec op space marines looks bad ass, if your guardsmen look as good they will be worth the wait!
Thanks very much, glad you like the parts! Unfortunately No, I have no plans for any larger melee weapons at the moment, I may make a few when I get round to my larger armoured Exo-Lords, but I dont know when that project will be started on given my workload.
@ Grundz - Good suggestion! Yes we have thought of doing something like that, but its a lot of work so we've not found the time yet, if anyone wants to volunteer to make it in exchange for product, make us an offer!
Ideally want we would want is a product page where changing the product selection changes the image, but this is even more work!
We will be switching over the focus of the range to kits consisting of fewer components, so the custom Exo-Lord kits are likely to sell less in future.
@Salicious Greed - The Black Ops rifle set is jsut for that kit, but all the guns are available separately in the "Armoury" section and you can choose all the ammo and accesories you like.
@Hulksmash-
Thanks very much, I was going to email you about this, the "combined" small bionic legs kit is out soon, if you'd prefer to wait, we can hold your order, or send it without the bionic legs, or send you some multi part bionic legs and then the rest as the static peices when I get to them, email me and let me know.
@Arkham Jack- Dont worry, the "Vanguard" pattern legs and arms, as used in the Black Ops kit, will be available separately soon enough, I just need to find the time to make the moulds.
@LDD and Newabortion -
I know! Im sorry its dragged on, Ive been making small progress recently, the resin copies of the small guns, including a sniper rifle, are on my desk, photos later today!
Have you ever consdiered selling the sprues sepratly? So the upgrade (webbing and ammo packs) sprue? And having the torsos seprate from the bodies as well?

Apologies im still showing these off on the "blank" torsos, proper sculpts for that part coming soon.
Here are the new Shotgun, Firestorm Carbine, Laser Rifle and Sniper Rifle, all in Human scale.
Each weapon will be supplied on a sprue containing -
4x gun with left hand sculpted in place, stock and grip all ready removed - as shown in the image bottom left.
2x complete gun with stock and grip, plus a separate left hand peice
Spare mags and ammo - as many as I can sensibly fit on the sprue.
This hopefully allows for the easiest converting, and the sprues will be compatible with my upcoming regiments range.
The regular assault rifle will be released in a couple of weeks when Ive redone the mags for it - sorry for the delay! Im going to do curved sickle mags, and either a drum or box mag version.
Hi Joel,
I know you're really busy on all the ranges(the new guns are amazing), but I was wondering if there were any plans to expand your bases ranges? I'm currently assembling a very mixed army(combining your figures, parts etc with anothers who shall remain nameless!) and wanting to give them a winter effect so I would be really really pleased if you would consider bases for this style? After all, you have desert and ruins, why not snow and ruins?
If you do, I'll keep putting new jokes in the comments section of the order form! (For it is I!)
As usual I'll struggle to try and top it but for what it's worth my blog has a couple of updates on what I'll be posting off for mold making soon: Tox Troopers for the MOTN range and a heroic scale test sculpt I did (kitted out with Exo Lord parts).
I'm just throwing that out there as someone now on his second order with them and I think that when a business goes above and beyond that they deserve the praise.
Joel had the opportunity to profit at the expense of a customer and did what was right for the customer.
Best AdMech figure I've seen for quite a while. Would be absolutely perfect for Legio Mortis Skitarii as is w/skull mask.
Honestly never been a fan of the MotN range thus far but this has me very interested.
Wonderful work Joel and Ice Sword both! The guns are pure perfection and the Ad-Mech type guy is looking fantastic. I am also really warming up to the Tox troopers, I just wish the guns were a little more detailed. I take it that even the regiment scale Anvil guns would still be too large for those models?

Unfortunately yes the Anvil rifles will be too big for the MOTN range.
At least with heroic style/scale you get more surface area to work with, the proportions on the MOTN stuff however requires smaller weapons. I've chosen to leave them semi abstract, I don't want to cram in detail for the sake of it and clutter things up.
That said, in the case of the Tox Trooper I think one or two minor details can be added that would benefit the part.
I loving the looks of those Toxic troopers. Can't wait for them to become available. I for one actually kind of like the simplistic weapons they carry.
Hi Joel and MotN.
Finally got registered here - mainly because I wanted to comment on this thread. So far I just used mails, but I guess this is easier.
Been using Anvil's part for some time now - and I can only chime in, in the praise of top of the line parts, beautiful casting, fast response and all around excellent service - best out there.
Love to come here and see the new glimses of the next bits in line.
A little worried that you write that (left) hands will be attached to the guns, on most of the casts. That's really one of the things I always hated about GW guard weapons. Really kills the usability for all us converters.
True - I do see it can be useful when just making up loads of minis, but the problem arises if then the parts don't align or you want a slightly different pose than imagined by the sculptor. Please remember that you bits are still the best out there for conversion work - please don't make it into a "unit producing" line. Perhaps it would be possible to make the mixed sprue you describe and also a sprue where you just the the whole gun, with out the hands and the cut of bits.
A couple pics showing the use of the brilliant Anvil parts - Joel needs as much praise as possible.
(loads more pics in my blog - link in my sig, if you should be interested)
@ MotN.
Simply love that new evil looking mini, I think it's some of you best work yet. How many are you planning on? The toxic troopers are really great too - gotta Nurgle these at some time I remember from the old MotN webpage, you had some really cool looking minis - cannot remember their names, but kind of oversized, longcoat wearing guardlike minis - are they even going to see the light of day?

I'll second that - I hope the guns are also made available as "just guns" without hands, arms and so forth.
I dont have any immediate plans to expand the base range, and if I did I wouldnt do "snow" ones as its impossible to sculpt snow! What I would suggest is picking one of the existing bases and snowing it up - for example the desert bases can be painted blue/white as cracked ices, glue a bit of sand on top and you can mix in some earth/crushed snow. The granite bases could easily be painted up as snow covered rocks and muddy craters with little modifications.
Later in the year I may make a few extra designs of base but no promises!
@Zogg - With the raised carry handle like an M-16/ G36K ? Yes, possibly, but only if the initial guns sell well.
@Icesword - looking good! Cant wait to get those guys cast up!
@Hulksmash - I prefer to think that we make a profit because we always put the customer first. Im glad we exceeded your expectations
@Commander Cain - Ill see if the new small guns are too large for the Tox Troopers when they arrive.
@Clang - they would be very small counts-as Necrons! The Exo-Lord scale parts, when I get them finnished, would be more suited to that.
@Manus - Thanks very much for posting the photos! Ive seen a few before but the whole squad looks amazing painted!! thanks also for your kind feedback
I will have a think about the gun sprues - for some kinds of conversion, not having the hand attached is a massive pain, so its getting the balance right, I will initially create the sprue I need for my regiments range, and hopefully also make the "whole guns" available separately as well, depending on sales.
I am planning on doing mostly complete unit sets like the new Black Ops from now on - as it gives me a lot more freedom with the designs and they are also easier to manufacture, which frees up more time to work on new products.
Dont worry though, I will still be supporting and adding to the line of conversion parts, and will make as much as possible available separately.
Just like to say - so far I've found you significantly better than Forgeworld.
Semi-Rant in spoiler so as not to expose everyone to it:
Spoiler:
Forgeworld charged 1.44 to ship 5 Legion Autocannons (always 12% of the price until you hit the 'free shipping' limit) when I ordered it Saturday.
Wednesday morning I get the confirmation email saying my Forgeworld stuff has sent, roughly the same time as I'm cracking open my Anvil order, (that I'd made monday night).
My Anvil order was great - fantastic quality, no flaws I could spot on anything, already clipped from the sprue, and in post-box suitable container.
This morning my Autocannons arrived, in a heat sealed clam shell, in a large box (so I had to open the door for the postman).
Upon opening it, while I can't see any actual flaws, there's masses of flash, and the whole lot is coated in a layer of what I assume is release agent... or they spilt oil on my order before it went in its packet.
It also doesn't look as nice as the Anvil stuff I've got.. and honestly feels 'cheaper' than.
So in closing, with this mild half-conscious babbling - Anvil Industries is faster, cheaper and higher quality than Games Workshop's Forgeworld.
TL;DR
Anvil Industries is faster, cheaper and better quality than Forgeworld.
With great customer service to boot.
Joel I have to say I would prefer the human range sprue without hands fitted as well, sorry to be a pain but I have most of my poses planned with arms all ready so this will create an issue.
I thought the earlier sprue you previewed was without hands attached ?

BY POPULAR DEMAND -
No hands will be built into the guns. It looks like enough people want them "hands free" that I would have to do that option anyway, but I cant really justify two different sprues for each gun, so the sprues will be
5x gun
5x separate left hand in case it is helpfull.
As much spare ammo as I can cram on.
Im going to put them up for order today or tommorow, shipping next wednesday or earlier.

See Joel this is why you ROCK you listen to feedback, plus the separate hands will always come in handy just I have a lot of planned poses with weapons in one hand.
Curious where we can get hands? I would love get a sprue of just hands so I can add other weaposn to my rather massive Cadian army.
Speaking of which, any chance of Cadian type shoulder pads to go with your human sized arms?
I recently ordered from Anvil for the first time and was VERY impressed with both the quality of the items (no flash, holes, etc) and the speed of delivery.
Simply love that new evil looking mini, I think it's some of you best work yet. How many are you planning on? Good stuff Manus, I follow your blog.
I've got a few more heroic style minis like this in progress, practice for helping Anvil with their pending human sized warriors.
Some of my older stuff is with Troll Forged Miniatures. MOTN finer scale stuff is all with anvil. I did have some minis that gut queued up for release with Troll Forged a few years ago and fell off the radar. I'm hoping to do new versions with Anvil. More on that another day though, I think the Anvil heroic style mini's are on a roll and will take the limelight in this thread.
Is this bandwagon or group pressure - I'm not sure. Either way, a brilliant decision Joel - perhaps even better, is the added left hands, they will really come in handy (sorry).
Guns look amazing, looking forward to get my hands on those.
@hulksmash: not sure I should name other companies than Anvil here - but since Joel is not YET producing any tracks, I think I can mention they are from SpartanGames - Dystopian wars.
Joel - there is a big marked out there for tracked units, amongst all us Mechanicus nutters.
Im fine with people mentioning other conversion components and companies, the more choice the better! Gives me a reason to work hard and offer better quality and prices!
I KNEW it was spartan games and was going to post that, but I couldnt find that peice anywhere on their website.
Im planning tracked units like that soon, both as a base for Exo-Lords, and as a heavy weapons platform.
Some really cool weapons! Have to order a trial run for those great sniper rifles!
Way better IMHO to do them without the attached hands. And the idea to add some gadgets like spent shells is great!
Is there any possibility to get the double mag from the Black Ops also single item (in a pack of 10 like the others) from the Armoury? As that double mag looks really great!
thanks! I might be able to sort out a double mag option at some point, but there are many higher priority projects at the moment! Thanks for the suggestion.
@Javin I will be making a single tracked unit which will suitable for attaching either a Steam Lord Torso etc, or a Human Scale Heavy Weapon.
All the Regiments gun sprues already include a spare left hand for each gun, making conversions very easy.
@Isnigo - I have no idea when I will get to making the tracks unit, as there are a lot of projects on my plate at the moment, sorry this isnt very helpfull, If you do choose to wait I hope you will like what I come up with!
Recently recieved my latest order and as previously stated by many others, it was a pleasure dealing with Anvil industries and Joel himself. Quality of the product was exemplary as was service communications and shipping. Thanks joel! this will not be my last order
I promised Joel I'd post a photos at some point of my rather massive Imperial Guard project. Well I'm some way away from even having a single platoon done having only built the first squad and a couple of other models, but I am making decent progress on the test model for my planned paint scheme. So here's the first of 88 guardsmen with only touch ups, highlights and basing to do. The guardsman himself is an old Warzone Imperial Army Regular with one of Joel's excellent exorcist carbines replacing the standard weapon. Personally I think the exorcist looks great on these models despite really being intended for marine sized models. Sorry about the photo quality my camera isn't great for taking closeups.
Just another 87 to go plus a few vehicles. I think I might have this army finished by the time 40k 7th edition is released.
@Sgt.Roadkill - Thanks very much for your feedback!
@Nick Ellingworth - Wow he looks great! Thats one hefty looking carbine on a model that size but it works! Good luck with the remaining 87!
All quiet lately! We've been busy!
Here is the new Lance Carbine - integrated with a compact version of the various Exo-Lord energy/Specialist weapons for a bit of extra firepower when you need it most!
The Kit will be supplied with 4 upper weapon options, which can be blue tacked in place or magnetised with the pre cast holes (added since this screenshot was taken).
This means the lower carbine weapon can be glued to a figure while the upper weapon is completely interchangable between games.
Im not sure exactly what parts Im going to include with this kit, but Ill figure it out soon once i get the parts back from the printers.
First off I'm loving the new combi-weapon. I've built quite a few for myself but a ready source for some of my armies would be amazing.
Secondly you guys are insane. I got my order from you faster in England than I did from the Warstore and I only paid you guys 1-day apart. And again it seems an excellent job with the casts. Haven't been able to inspect all the bags (you know how big the order was) but what I've seen so far looks excellent.
Anvils Hammer wrote: @Nick Ellingworth - Wow he looks great! Thats one hefty looking carbine on a model that size but it works! Good luck with the remaining 87!
As per usual, these look incredible. I've got a buddy who's been in the market for good looking under, or I suppose in this case, over slung weapons for some time now. He spent a small fortune on some custom pieces produced at a frienldy local game store and was pretty disappointed with the result. Ever since then, we've been waiting patiently for yours. I'm sure he'll be pleased with the results. Expect a large order the moment these come out.
In response to the poll you have on your facebook, which I'd like to include the Dakka community in, I figure the best way to do this would be to go completely a la carte. I don't know if this would be the best way for you to cast the parts, and if it isn't, disregard this. You would be able to charge a bit more per part to cover your labor, but it would keep the overall costs down for the consumer. Everyone likes a full bitz box, but it does get somewhat depressing when you see thirty of the same bit you will never use because it doesn't fit what you're doing. Failing that possibility, I'd vote for the option of five weapons with two of each option. It will cover most of what everyone needs. If someone were to need a bunch of the same weapon, it would be either expensive or require alot of cutting and sawing, but I figure most people use those types of weapons in various sorts to take advantage of their flexibility. One man's opinion.
To sort of recap for everyone on here, the question was, more or less, whether it is better to have a single weapon base with all four upper options included for a premium cost, or to have five bases with two each of the upper options for slightly less money, though somewhat less flexibility if you want all the same weapon. Discuss amongst yourselves.
@Hulksmash - Thanks very much! dispatch is almost always within 24 hours, and shipping to the US is a bit varied, but can sometimes be only a few days if the parcel has an easy trip through customs!
@Noneoftheabove0 - Cheers!
Offering all the options separatly is the ideal situation, but its not realistic to have 5/6 different draws and 5/6 separate production moulds, we just dont have the resources at the moment.
Im leaning toward doing a single sprue with one lower, and every option, plus 3 option mags as well, so the final gun will be totally customisable.
The sprue will thus be fairly expensive, but not more so than purchasing similar weapons from bits stores, and it will come with a lot more options which can be used in other conversions.
Am I the only one who thinks an empty rifle part (maybe pistol) would also be good?
So not just change your combi-flamer to combi-melta but your normal flamer to normal meltagun.
Joel, you keep adding all this great stuff. I use my anvil bases & parts I've gotten from you over the years on a regular basis and now I may need more even if I stopped playing 40k!
I never used my bionic arms from like a year ago but man did they come in handy customizing a few sedition wars miniatures.
The Black Ops team is awesome to, I may need one just to own.
Yep that good really that good Joel Guns are amazing and well worth the wait, the new sizing is spot on and they look great now go and make more regiment scale please
The pads also look good will have to try them out, if they work for what I want I will be back for more.
The Chain axes are cool as hell, these will be used with some renegade guard me thinks or some crazed chaos inspired necro gang
The bionic legs are great love the choice of options, really impressed with these even better in the flesh so to speak
The Bionic arms as with the legs were great, I have to say I am so impressed with these as they look great attached to the mini.
Overall AMAZING WORK Joel BIG PAT on the back mate, if the regiment range continues down this road you will have to just take my wallet
Another order will be following shortly, once I work out exactly what I need
Just one question on the bionic arm sprue, why only 3 separate hands when there are 4 arms ? (not including the full arm set)
I am continually astonished at the disgraceful state my FW stuff arrives and yet conversely how nice, clean and lacking in flash the stuff from Anvil is.
mwnciboo wrote: I am continually astonished at the disgraceful state my FW stuff arrives and yet conversely how nice, clean and lacking in flash the stuff from Anvil is.
Totally agree with this so far I have seen no "Flash" on any of my order "Marvel" at the cleanness of the casts
Shame Flash is DC character other wise it would have been a good pun
You guys are based just round the corner from me (E3 shank shank, as the local hoodlum element like to scrawl on the walls). I am looking forward to when my finances allow me to buy all the bits I need for my Executioners chapter force.

@LDD - thanks glad you like them, the high definition Wax printer I used is really expensive but well worth it for the extra crispyness!
The sprue has 3 hands for 4 arms because I added the hands as an extra, I originally didnt supply hands, figuring most people will be attaching swords/pistols etc which already have a hand sculpted on.
@Manus - We are very sorry for the one tiny bit of flash, we will try to do better in future
------------------
I wanted to bring the new Black Ops figures to life a bit, so I decided to commission a "proper" artwork peice for them from Robin Carey (www.robincarey.co.uk) an awesomely talented artist who has done a load of stuff for GW, Mantic, Spartan Games and others.
Im really pleased with the result and hope to get more art work done for my various different ranges!
I'm really digging that artwork Joel! It is really nice! Could you possably do a left hand firing conversion kit that would suit the GW marines nicly but not too gw for gw to get pissy?
Automatically Appended Next Post: Hi anvil, im about to place an order (only £10.00) and you have seamed to have ran out of rapid mold sticks and I really badly need them, do you know how long it would be until they are back in stock again at all? As I don't really want to pay for shipping twice just to get them on a later date but need the spare mags for bolter conversions. To make mattors worse some modles can't be converted until I have made some press modls of some heldary for my captin at a later date.
I'm trying to avoid the extra spending right now, but I'm going to have to make an order once those Tox Troops go up. Are all of them going to be up, or just the heavy weapons team and the chem throwers?
Barzam wrote: I'm trying to avoid the extra spending right now, but I'm going to have to make an order once those Tox Troops go up. Are all of them going to be up, or just the heavy weapons team and the chem throwers?
All of them Barzam - 6 grunts, 1 leader and 1 with the heavy weapon rig. Should be at Anvil in a couple of days then into the production line behind the Exo Lords.
Joel I have to ask as I have had a quick play with my new toys is there any chance of down scaling the shoulder pads ?
I am thinking regiment size as I love the look of your pads but they are way to big for my purpose, there are 2 designs in particular I want and I think there is a market for this as every one seems to ask for alternative human sized pads.
Maybe a line of regiment scale pads and regiment Chaos pads the evil looking kind plus these could be used with Apoc gangers or even medieval settings, multiple uses
Well damn. First you tell me all of the Tox Troopers will be going up, now you show these guys. *sigh* It was bad enough I had to choose between chem throwers and heavy weapons, now it's between Tox Troopers and Heroic Scaled Admech/Cultists.
Seriously though, those guys look really great. I look forward to expanding my infantry with all of this stuff.
Hoping to get some new Black Ops and Regiments stuff out toward the end of this week, and the new Exo-Lord Heavy weapons at the end of the month.
Also expecting the new stuff from Icesword soon!
@muwnciboo - Large armoured exo suits yes, but they will not look anything like that image.
@Hazzer - No plans for a left handed kit any time soon - thats pretty specialised! you could do the conversion yourself probably - left pistol grip fists are supplied with my left melee arms.
No idea when/if the Rapid Mould will be back, we've not heard from our supplier for a while.
You can google/ebay search "Oyumaru", its the same stuff and is around the same price I charge.
@LDD - Yes, there will definatly be smaller scale pads coming up really soon.
@Hazzer - I will probably do a cut down version with a much much shorter barrel, which could be more suitable.
Also hoping to do a few other heavy weapons when time permits.
@Alpharius - Thanks. None of the existing arms fit.
These weapons will have generic armoured arms without shoulder pads made for them.
The left arm will be attached to the gun and trigger, and the right arm will be separate.
So long as you are using standard marine torsos for your project (12mm wide) they will fit straight on. Otherwise a bit of converting may be needed.

You mean the right arm will be attached to the trigger and the left arm will be separate, right?
And... will the left 'bracing' arm be available soon too then?
Both IceSword's new heroic scale figures and the new heavy weapons look great. Are those new legs on the gunners in the pics of the SpecOps guys? If not, will they be made available separately?
I can't wait for the Autocannons. I'll be getting 4 for sure.
I've got a product suggestion for you, too. Have you considered doing a shoulder pad kind of like the kind Tau Firewarriors use? Sort of an armored slab worn over the arm. Something along the lines of a Zaku's shoulder shield. Something like that would be pretty nice to have with the heavy support guys.
Ohh seprate black opp legs! Now I'm intrested! They would look good on some sternguard or devs (as they had some fancy style legs for bracing the legs on in 3rd ed me thinks).
@LDD - The first kit, which I almost have all the parts for, will be a squad of cyborg robot soldiers ( with fleshy brain and spine)
Im also hoping to have the first "normal" regiments guys, similar style to the black ops, but un armoured, available fairly soon.
Fatigue rifle arms to go with the new guns are also a priority.
@Azazelx - Im also releasing a Specific Black Ops heavy weapons team, with 4 figures suited for the heavy weapons and a 5th guy with enhanced range/target finding and Comms gear.
No plans to release more pads for the time being - so much stuff to work on!

Thanks Joel they sound tops mate the cyborg legs and arms I got are were amazing so much better than I thought ( sorry for doubting but in defence the pics do don't do justice ) I will be getting more of them for sure.
So complete Robot Cyborg soldiers sounds like the next step in progression, I cant wait to see these in the flesh or resin
Black Ops style yes that sounds like a winner drooling as I type
Awesome work Joel. I've been resisting placing an order for a while, but I think I'm gonna have to pick up a bunch of the new stuff... and some of the old.
Nod. I just placed another order this week. Looks like I need at least 2-3 more orders to "catch up" to what I want to get from Joel. Then there's the MOTN stuff...
Hi SickSix - thanks very much for the review video! Im very glad you were pleased with the components you recieved. Its great that people can see the products we ship out are cast to the same high standard as the parts we photograph for the website.

Human size bionics, slightly too big around the shoulder but overall a perfect fit, the pad even fits over it.
Scopes (got to do something with the 30+ I ordered, right?)
Aaand I finally found a use for the shotguns that I bought. These were too big, especially compared to the DF weapons which are quite slim. Nonetheless they still fit snugly despite having to chop some bits off. Anyone tried out the human sized guns yet? I think they will be a perfect fit if the Exo Lords ones are a little large.
So yeah, that's about it. Did I ever post the Sedition Wars guy with the bionics on this page? Here it is again anyway...
oh... now that is a good use for those bitz.... i never could get warm with those dreamforge minis... but your conversion work sure makes the phrase "the sum of its parts is greater than the whole" get a new meaning!!!
Joel, I was adding some stuff to my cart for my next order and I noticed that the missile launchers and autocannons are up on the site but with no pics. Are they available to order now or just a pre-order?
Automatically Appended Next Post: Never mind. I creeped your facebook and got my answers!
Alright Joel, I've got my order in. I was hoping the new MOTN guys would be up as well, but then I saw what the total for my order was and now I'm glad they aren't up yet.
A couple of questions though,
Is there a possibility for selling a single Black-Ops guy by himself? Maybe make it a random figure from the fireteam or allow the buyer to pick one. I'd like to buy one or two for display and don't need a whole squad at the moment.
Second question, capes and shields, are they going to be expanded upon in the near future? A smooth riot shield with a view slit would be pretty nice to have. A cloak that hangs over one shoulder or at least on one side of the figure would be kind of neat to have, too.
will the widow maker SAW be available with the fireteams? what about in 10 packs? I gotta say I'm loving your new stuff. How long until accessoties for bigger Boarding Lords stuff? Any chance of an exo-lords head with a mohawk im the future?
Actually, yeah, I second the motion for either a Black-Ops boarding team or a heavy armored unit for boarding actions. Something more akin to a Terminator armor maybe?
@Commander Cain - thanks for posting those photos up, good to see some parts in use, they look great! Im pretty impressed with the casting quality on those plastic figures, plastics are somthing we are hoping to look at in the future.
@Barzam - No plans for more cloaks or shields in the near future.
No plans to sell single Black Ops right now, but I have a few spares so If you PM/email me with your order details I can sell you just two.
@Melkson - No more heads coming up, but you could use the small roman crest with a bare head to make a mohawk pretty easily.
I will be remaking the SAW master to improve the quality and add variety/extra parts. When thats done it will be available as an option with the Suppression team.
Heavy armoured "Siege Lords" are a planned upcoming product, later in the year.
---------------------
A few of you may have seen this on Facebook last night, but Im pleased to officially release the new -
BLACK OPS SUPPRESSION TEAM
Consisting of a Gunnery Sergeant (4 different arm options) and 4 Heavy weapons troopers equipped with either Missile launchers or Autocannons.
Sergeant with Advanced Communications Pack, Range Finding Optics and Fire Control Widget.
Sergeant with Advanced Communications Pack, Sniper Carbine and pointing hand.
Lots more photographs are included in the product listings, which you can view here -
Will you be offering the Supression team Sgt arms/head sprue separately? I would love to see a selection of Sgt sprues to spice up custom squads. Head, pistol, and chain weapon is a very popular combo. Looking forward to the Siege Lords too. Please do a double autocannon for them!
Gotta say, GREAT stuff still, and i'm really looking forward to what is coming. Thanks alot for putting out such quality stuff.
I will look at doing some Sergeant bits separately at some point. I certainly plan to makes the "Comms" backpack a separate component.
Here is a short (4 minutes) Video showing the new miniatures and the various component parts, options and extras included, a really good way to get a proper look at the figures.
At the end of the video Ive included a "sneak peak" of the new fully magnetized Lance Carbine weapon.
Amazing stuff, looking really good. I belive you are attending salute this year will it be possible to reserve some stuff to pick up when Im there?
Also what are your plans for other squads I would love to see a five man assault squad, with some of your smg weapons, it would be cool to have a sniper team too with some prone models
@Absolutionis - Yep, I know in real life the shrapnel bit would all be hidden inside, but as you say I wanted to make in obvious!
@Commander Cain - Yes I've found a bulk supplier and hope to be stocking the correct magnets for my new guns next week some time.
@The_Minsk - A recon sniper team is on the drawing boards, so to speak.
and everyone else in general -
YES- We will of course be attending SALUTE and we are really excited about it, look out for our huge "BLACK OPS" banner.
Anyone wanting to reserve product to pick up at the show should email me with their full name, and list of products, or if you are in the UK you can put an order through with Cheque as the payment option and "SALUTE reservation" in the comments box.
Its cash only at the show at the moment but we are trying to sort out a card machine.
Here is the new LANCE CARBINE
Its a 9 component kit containing -
Lower Carbine weapon
4 different upper weapons - Fusion Cannon, Ion Rifle, Flame Thrower, Grenade Launcher.
3 Different Mags - Box, Drum and Sickle, to represent different Ammo types.
Compact Scope
Each upper weapon can be easily blu tacked onto the lower carbine, and there are also Pre Cast Magnet Holes so magnetizing the different options is really straight forward.
Here is an assembled example -
Its available now in singles or in a pack of 5 guns.
Joel, you are a god among men. All the new releases look great. 2 questions, Do you have an ETA for the Black Ops legs being sold independently and whatever happened to the 'stubby' autocannon design? Substantial order coming your way soon.
@sockwithaticket - We need to mould the legs separately, it will be before Salute definately, but we have to get the new kits moulded and shipped first.
Stubby Autocannon was a concept, it might not make it to the product stage, but there will be some additional heavy options at some point.
SickSix - Yes, but not yet, Ill be finishing the Black Ops off, then starting on some new Exo-Lords based on the Roman and Medieval styles, including sergeant options then. No ETA at the moment though.
Its difficult to know what to prioritise as I've got so many projects planned!
Combi gun is really good Joel! the design and incorporation of the secondary attatchments seems pretty flawless when put together, and the foresight of pre drilled holes for magnets is a really nice touch and screams to the hobbyist out there as something special! I can see these selling like hot cakes mate!
Just tried out the regiment range sniper rifle and looks top notch the dogs turned out spot on as I was hoping it would.
On top of this the grip hands that come with the weapons are a real blessing, I was building my mini using the selected parts and behold the left arm is without hand. What am I todo well I grabbed the hand not expecting this to work out to we'll, but bugger me spot on a little GS to tidy up the meet but otherwise fantastic and it practily grips the gun almost a little click when the weapon was pushed into place.
Joel top points on this mate and the overall look as well, please expand the range with more of the original range in this scale pleas, please
Is it possible to get the exorcist carbine and rifle in regiment range ? I really love the look of these weapons and want to fit my troops with them I want exactly the same as the originals just scaled down
@Nerdfest09 - Thanks very much! I spoke to the magnet supplier today and we should have a stock of suitable magnets to offer with the guns tommorow.
@LDD - Thanks very much! Glad it worked well for your project! Certainly planning to release lots more stuff in the smaller scale! The assault rifle - out later this week, is a bit of a mash up of the two larger rifles.
@Azazelx - Thanks but actually its correct (if a bit unclear).
A sprue - shown in the image, contains two weapons (different arm sculpts). So the Pack of Ten guns is made up of 5x Sprue of two.
-----
Thanks for everyones orders over the Bank Holiday, we are working flat out today and expect to have shipped all bank holiday orders by the end of tommorow, including all the orders for the new Heavy weapons and Lance Carbines.
And how brilliant for Joel to have come up with a Grenade Launcher with underslung Assault rifle!
I really ought to get back on with building the squad I want to do with Joel's fantastic weapons and bionics. If only we hadn't just had a white Easter, I could have drummed up some enthusiasm for being in the cold assembling and undercoating them.
A cool and inventive way to incorporate the two weapons - I do think I look a bit "strange" with the mag/box hanging so low. And the Stubby Autocannon you previewed - DO IT! Coolest gun ever.
...and now for something completely different: Regiment size!!!!!!!!!!!

Stubby Autocannon was a concept, it might not make it to the product stage, but there will be some additional heavy options at some point.
Cheers for the response Joel, as ever your CS is top notch. It's pretty much just the legs I'm waiting on before I order, good to know I'll be able to do so soon Yeah, I figured stubby hadn't made the cut given the other design has become a product already. Still, it's an awesome design and it'd be a shame for it to never see the light of day, though I appreciate it's probably not high up your colossal projects list.
Incredible quality! I now feel like a complete idiot to have bought that s... from FW up to now! Thanks Joel for making me feel like that!
Really had to put them immediately together with some gubbins from maxmini i recieved today too.
As you can see Joels quality is impecable. And his armoury acessoiries are great to customize also weapons from other producers.
(OK, still WIP, as all gubbins - and you get a lot for your bits box - have not yet been applied!)
So glad that i had ordered 2 Suppressor teams when i saw that fab rocket launcher!
Question for the owner about the IG-scaled 'regiments' weapons - is there any likelihood of a solid ammunition rifle being released? I am contemplating buying a bunch of the laser rifles, then solid ammo magazines seperately. Would hate to do it if it was all a waste.
@miniholic - they look great! thanks for posting up the photo!

Hi, Absolutely! They are sitting on my desk and will be released next week.
An assault rifle with sickle mag, and also a varient with drum mag.
miniholic wrote: Yup Azazetx that's the one.
But i guess if made by Joel it would look much better. ...and possibly his take on the M-series guns!
Yeah.. but to be fair, realistic heavy weapons based on RL ones are a hard fit for 40k-style models, since even something like a Browning M2HB "Ma Deuce" (.50 cal heavy vehicle-mounted machinegun) pretty much has the proportions of a bolter (if you cut down the barrel). That leaves most RL machineguns looking weedy as hell - so I see what MM have done chunkify-ing it up.

Terrific! I will certainly order as soon as they are released.
Picked up my Black Ops squad, awesome stuff, some flash, love the bare heads they wil be used for another project. one gun arm didn't seem to fit, and the plasma gun thingie was also to big, couldn't get any left hand to fit.
@Miniholic - Hoping to photograph and release the Assault Rifle later today, which will hopefully suit your needs, It doesnt have the top "carry handle" but is otherwise fairly similar to an M rifle.
I may make some additional styles of near future gun as I am planning a near future wargame afterall.. I will make them err.. in the near future!
@Jehan Reznor - Thanks very much, Im glad you like the kit! And thanks for the the feedback. Im sorry you had some trouble with one of the guns, I did my best but certain combinations were a little trickier than others. This will be improved in future kits.
If you mean the Fusion Cannon included on the sprue, it should fit the left hands included, at least it did when I assembled it, I hope you got it to work ok, the hand will only fit on the grip area, which is designed the same size as the rifles.

SALUTE PRE-ORDERS
For Charax and anyone else interested.
YES we will be taking pre orders for anyone who wants to pay cash and collect on the day.
To do this - put your order through the website with "cheque" as the payment option (use any UK address) and "SALUTE" in the order comments box.
Then instead of sending us a cheque, turn up at our Salute stand and your order will be waiting for you - We are hoping to be able to take card payments, but cash is preferred.
What needs to be produced is a series of right hands with different gestures. You can get open hands, splayed hands and pointing hands thanks to the Grey Knight, Missile Launcher and Blood Angel boxes, but it's really time consuming to make hands with these types of gestures for right handed Exo-Lords...
Charax wrote: So no "pay through the website, pick up on the day" option?
Hey,
Yeah you can do that if you want, we just dont have functionality on the website for it that wouldnt cause confusion.
Place and pay for the order, put "COLLECT AT SALUTE" in the comments box and we will refund the the postage you pay in cash on the day.
@Lurker - Thanks for the suggestion - this is a possibility but its very low on the priority list, as I doubt the number of people willing to pay for a few hand sculpts will generate the money we need to justify the product design and moulding time.

I dont know if you make some useful designs it could be a winner
As Lone Dirty Dog suggests, I think you would be suprised...
It's impossible to get them. You have to craft them yourself. Way too much effort.
I don't know how hard it would be (read: I have no idea what process you go through), but the next time you make a set of arms, you could just attach the hand at the end...(?)
Yeah, if reasonably priced as the rest of your stuff is I could see getting a few packs. Left and right-handed variants of pointing, open palm for "hold" by a pointman, two-finger "victory/up yours" and the one-fingered US version, thumbs up/down. Just off the top of my head, and good for giving a lot of character to various armoured (and unarmoured!) space warriors from many manufacturers...
The only way I could make it work is if I do it in CAD, then I can model a bunch of different poses quicker, and also mirror them, releasing a sprue with say 15 different hand options on it. This is an option for a future project but please no one hold their breath, in a few months time Ill be getting all excited about TANKS and wont even remember this conversation most likely..
NEW PRODUCT -
A couple of new things out today -
The Regiments Assault rifles, both Drum and Sickle Mag Varients -
ARMS - I've been promising them for a while - today I actually handed some parts over to a sculptor, and he is doing me some arm sets to go with the regiments guns - initially he will be doing bare "jungle" arms with a sensible ammount of muscle, and normal military fatigue arms - there will also be optional shoulder pads.
I dont want to say when they will be ready incase I miss the deadline, but they are now Work In Progress.
Regiments Single Pose Bionic Legs - Set of 5 different sculpts available -
Really pleased with how these came out, Other legs including regular fatigues coming soonish!
Here is a Sneak WIP Preview of somthing Im hoping to have ready to release at SALUTE
The first proper Regiments product - "ARC Drone Cell".
The ARC (Autonomous Robotic Consciousness) is a planned faction for my game universe, I will be expanding the unit options and background material quite a bit.
SALUTE is really soon! Im very excited and working as hard as I possibly can to get new stuff ready for the show!
Thanks very much! Im aiming to have the Drone Cell ready for release at SALUTE with limited stock, and I hope to have some preview photos online before the show also.
I will be starting with the basic infantry and adding all sorts of other units and weapon options, as well as other regiments kits.
On the subject of SALUTE - If anyone from here is going - this is the banner you need to look out for, pretty hard to miss!
Received my order yesterday, only a couple days after placing it. Everything is in good order and the sculpt quality is amazing - no warping or flash at all. Will definitely shop there again.
Yes, got my order yesterday very happy and impressed, the new regiment weapons are spot on look great and fit well with little work needed.
The bionic 5 leg set is an impressive set as well although one leg pose seems a little peculiar, I will see how it looks once a torso is added as that might be throwing it of.
The Bionic arms are also well detailed and fit quite well, although if fitting onto some 3rd party torsos some adjustment will be needed but quite easy to achieve.
The one thing I would say about the Bionic leg set is the legs seem quite close to one another, I think if you ever create any more poses maybe space the legs a little further apart.
Over all great items with a lot of potential and great detail, next to no flash and no air bubbles from what I have seen clean casts.
Top Notch product once again Joel
I was going to share this with you as we mentioned hands sets as an idea, you could cast them up like these to make it easier.
I-bounty-hunt-the-elderly wrote: Received my order yesterday, only a couple days after placing it. Everything is in good order and the sculpt quality is amazing - no warping or flash at all. Will definitely shop there again.
Same, excellent casts on everything overall, speedy and great scale items.
I'd like to chime in on support of hands armoured and unarmoured in similar style to suggestions posted.
My order came in yesterday too. Tons of the regiment bionic legs and arms along with 20 combi-weapons. I have to say it's all as awesome as normal but the combi-weapons truly blew me away.
Thanks Everyone for feedback and compliments! Much appreciated!
Glad to know plenty of orders are turning up quickly, even across the pond, there is hope yet for international Postage agreements!
@LLD - There is a "running" and "walking" pose in the set, I assume its one of those which looks a bit odd at first?
The legs are a sensible distance a part for normal human beings. A certain larger wargaming company likes to sculpt most of its miniatures with their legs splayed far further apart than is sensible in a combat situation!
Update - today I completed work on the Black Ops ALPHA STRIKE squad, Five new sculpts designed specifically with the Lance Carbine weapon in mind.
Im also roughly half way through work on the ARC Drone Cell - including a alternative "metal skull with scary red eyes" head option.
I will put up previews in a day or two of the new stuff but nothing else is getting released now untill next weekend
Traceoftoxin wrote: Joel, I gotta ask, is this what you do for a living? If it isn't, you should probably rethink your stance on that.
You consistently put out a quality product at a realistic price that I (And many others) would prefer over a well known main company.
By far the best bitz maker I've seen for quality, consistency, and customer service.
It certainly is! I probably work about 60 hours a week on average in "The Forge" - Ive been working on Anvil Industry full time for over 18 months now, there are three of us full time at the moment and hoping to get a few new staff in over the next few months.
Thanks very much for your kind words.
I do my utmost to offer the products and service you describe because Im extreemly privilaged to have turned my Hobby into a full time job, and want it to continue for as long as possible, which means I need lots of happy customers!
Its 9.40pm UK time on a Sunday and we are still at work. Charlie is making the mould for the "Alpha Strike" Black Ops and Im working on the ARC Drone Cell masters so we can mould those tommorow (fingers crossed!)
Highly looking forward to your new Black ops team Joel, I just finished painting my first squad but I need to wait for those missing bases to arrive before I can finish them. They were a real joy to paint and I'm the kind of guy who really hates painting.
My pads also showed up yesterday, awesome stuff as always. @ Emperor bacon, nice stuff! Great to see such a unique conversion, loving what you did with the gun.
@Newabortion - wow they look great!! Thats the first fully painted team Ive seen, havnt had time to paint any myself yet!
@Emperor Bacon -Looks like the Negotiator Rifle serves quite well as a sawn-off shotgun!
@Lockark - Thanks, No, no plans for any chaotic Exo-Lords, sticking to stuff which fits the background of my own game universe from now on, which limits me a little but will mean greater focus on building a complete range.
---------
SALUTE 2013 - ITS ALMOST TIME. Charlie and I have been working 14 hours a day all week in preparation and I've manage to get loads of new stuff ready!!
Charlie took a few quick photos..
As well as the separate Black Ops "Vanguard" Legs and Arms and a few other smaller things - we will have limited quantities of...
Black Ops ALPHA STRIKE
Elite Veterans equipped with lance carbines - The body sprue contains new sculpts, including a guy wrapped in bullet belts, and a sergeant with "Winged" Black Ops helmet and armour collar.
We will also have the Suppression team equipped with M88 Negotiator Rifles -
And after a long long wait and many delays - The first REGIMENTS Release - A.R.C Drone Cell and Drone Specialist weapons.
A cell of 10 terrifying cyborgs comes with a choice of two heads, choice of any of the regiments guns, and a Specialist Weapon (Flame Thrower, Ion Rifle or Fusion Cannon).
They are 4 component models which makes them easy to assemble, but there are 5 different leg and torso sculpts, to allow for lots of different poses. No two Regiments figures need look the same!
I will be expanding this range with Drone Heavy Weapons before moving on to other REGIMENTS.
We are really looking forward to the show on Saturday, so come down to London's EXCEL center and see the full product range in person! If you've not been to Salute before it really is well worth the journey, so much to see!
We will have limited stocks of the new ALPHA STRIKE and A.R.C Drone Cell available to purchase on the stand, and they will go on general sale online next week when we've had a chance to sleep!
Nice! the ARC Drones turned out nicely, I'd like to see the chest without a gun in front of it though and I much prefer the gas mask-ish head to the scary robo skull heads.
Also loving the Alpha strike squad, the guy all covered in ammo belts looks great!
I got my Paranormal Investigator. He came on Monday, but I wasn't able to pick him up until Tuesday. Primed yesterday, painted today. The base is Anvil's also.
For some reason he doesn't show up in the MOTN section anymore though. He's a nice little figure.
1. Sleep is not an acceptable excuse for not releasing even more minis.
2. Impressive job on the drones Joel - now I'm just waiting for you to robe up those legs some.
3. You say 4 components? That means head/torso w arms/gun/legs ?
4. Please tell us the torsos with the cables are without gun pre-attached!!!!
@Dmyze - the torso/arms is one peice, but Ill get the torso out separately at some point also.
I much prefer the skull head - Thats why I did two different ones!
@Barzam - He looks great! Its a really characterfull sculpt! (by icesword, its not mine).
He is out of stock at the moment as we dont have a mould, but we will make one at some point.
@Manus -
1. Sorry! I try my best to stay awake and at my desk all the time, perhaps some bionic upgrades for my arms would be in order.
2. thanks! Robes are coming dont worry 3. Yes exactly the component breakdown.
4. The cabled Energy weapon torsos are one peice - it had to be that way as each gun has its own different respective power pack/fuel tank on the back of the model.
I will try and release some cabled up versions for regular guns but no promisises.
Its pretty easy to add cable - I used a Masq-Mini "tube tool" to make the masters and really reccomend it!
@Miniholic -
thanks, and its no only possible, but already there - each figure in the squad is supplied with drum, box AND sickle mag as standard, so you can choose the one you want for the gun and the others can be used as spare ammo/put on other models.
There is also one small ammobelt peice for the gun on the "bullet belts" guy.
You also get 5 of each upper weapon for the carbines, so you can have a mixture or all 5 the same, or swap between battles with magnets or bluetac!
Assault/Jump team is a possiblity but not a priority.
