Just re-highlighted the Wraithbone elements of my Harlequins and will go over some of the Leadbelcher with the lighter silver colour highlights. Might even begin basing them soon! I think it was the Kill Team Youtuber Glass Half Dead who just made a heavily converted Harlequins Kill Team because he thought the normal models 'dorky' which I agree with, if you only look at the way GW painted them on the front of their box, their masks just look dorky but the way I painted mine avoided this (base of black with a wraithbone dry brushing, they look pretty scary, I think especially the Jason Vorhees mask, which I naturally put on my Troupe Master)
Finished a solo play-though of a board game (Aviation Tycoon) so that I can teach it tomorrow at the shop.
I got it in a bundle of stuff & all but the worst games deserve at least one play through....
Moving colored cubes around to destination cities via various colored air routes, matching stocks/banks collecting $ based on how many plane tokens the routes moved on contain, & then at the 1/2way point & end of game those banks pay out $ based on who has how much stock of each.
Winner = most $
Verdict:
Play-wise not the most exciting game in the collection (or even of it's type) but not terrible. It'll get played a few times & never seen again.
Quality is average. Board could be prettier & the tiny little route markers kinda resemble F117a Stealth fighters (odd in a game based on taking passenger cubes to destination cities).
Got some painting done, last month completed nearly 240 models(about 160 from scratch), this month this is all i have done so far. Mystery novel grabbed attention.
Had my first session of Rogue Trader in a few weeks today. I had a lot of fun and so did my players. They killed a Rakasya daemon in a pretty epic battle. Next weekend, going to playtest my TT Skirmish game with them, looking forward to that!
Last couple of days:
- Spray undercoated some 40K scenery
- Stripped some old metal Terminators
- Played Mission 1 in a campaign of Aliens with my wife. She’s playing Vasquez and I’m playing Ripley. So far, we’ve found Newt and gotten everyone out alive.
Worked over the Wraithbone elements of my Harlequins again then began basecoating my Farseer I bought and assembled weeks ago, the Caliban Green and Kantor Blue parts would've begun the Corax White but can't find it lol
Sally 4th's "Wars of Ozz: Wave 2" started, so I figured I'd post some pics of their earlier Albedo miniatures. The game designer, a retired US Army Colonel, is the designer for both games! First up, is the main character, Erma Felna, from the Albedo comic book series.
My cursed city minis are all primed, but haven't started them yet.
Working on getting my 3D printed Nids terrain up and ready. Cut and prepared some MDF bases for some of the bigger pieces so today they should be mounted on base and at least one piece primed and ready (low on primer).
Assembled loreseeker and worked on the 9 stegadon/bastiladons. Really slow this month. 11 days and not 1 finished model...last month total was nearly 240...
More Gore Gruntas
Finishing main colours on a unit of 5 orruk brutes
Working out how to remove She-Hulk's hands from a modelled steel beam so I can have her throwing a construction site portable toilet, instead of said steel beam...
Planning out the next 250 pt addition (+20 points left over from this week) to my undead force for the shops Escalation League.
Pondering wether I:
* bank most of the points so that going into week #4 I can mount my ghoul king on a zombie dragon,
* adding a Nighthaunt Blackcoach & banking 50pts
* adding a LoN Blackcoach + Banshee/Cairn wraith & banking the rest
* adding 20 Tomb King skeleton archers (split into 2 units) + Cairn Wraith
* adding another Mortek Crawler + Cairn Wraith - this combo would add some serious firepower....
* adding a FW Mourngul - doesn't fit the army very thematically, but it's still a cool looking model....
* something else???
So many choices & all but the MG fit my force so well.
Noticed that it's unlikely for Hexwraiths to make an appearance in the new Soulblight battletome, so I'm now rebasing my old Vampire Counts ones and updating the paintjob to be in line with the rest of my Nighthaunt army.
Bought some Corax White to replaced the lost one after I lost my Kill Team game seriously my rolls were trash, my opponent even said she hoped that I'd roll better in the next game lol. Still managed to do okayish via some sneaky Eldar tactics, but I made a HUGE tactical blunder which I think really cost me the game lol
Going to play the super-mega sized version of AxisAllies this afternoon.
Supposedly combining the European & Pacific games results in a 6' board & a game that'll take 12 hours +.
A buddy warned me that - by the rules - the USA does virtually nothing for the 1st SIX turns. Recommended that I take a good book or something to do in case I draw the US chit.
So, on his advice, I'm taking several AoS/50k kits that need building with me.
Hopefully I won't get any of them worked on.....
Update: Well, that took all day. And all night.
Victory: Allies. By a wide margin.
Slowest things about this version were the set-up, setting it up again thanks to the cat trying to help, constantly having to check wich boats are destroyers, & about an hour going over rules/faqs/errata etc. Then going over the same new rules several more times each time they occurred....
Buddies also full of crap as the US enters the war (not play) on their 4th turn at the latest - & does have effective non-combat things they can do in the first three turns.
Next weeks game of this will go much faster.
Working on a Hawker Hurricane MkI this morning. Needing a few more layers of green yet to achieve full opacity through the airbrush but fairly pleased so far, no mishaps.
Built two opposing viking jarls for raven feast. That leaves only 5 hirdmen to build or 7 total models to complete/paint to be finished with this project that I should never have started.
Play tested my TT Skirmish Game I've been making set in my Angaran Chronicles setting with my friend and we had a ton of fun. I learned a lot and fixed a few things and my TTRPG group and I are testing more today.
My friend despite never playing a TT Skirmish game by the 2nd game and despite he and I being drunk he managed to grasp the mechanics super fast.
Stripped the last of my metal terminators and started doing the colour work on a squad of Necron Warriors. It’s not working so far like I wanted it to in my head but I think I’ll commit and see how it goes. I’m using a colour shift paint for the first time and it’s a bit “gummy” so probably should be thinning it more.
Did my 2nd playtest today, played against my friend (He was the Jaroaite extremists, I was Anargrin and Raleas again and in the 3rd game I was Anargrin, Raleas and used one of my Hero Forge Anargrins as a proxy for Alathis the neophyte-Hunter in the novella The Angaran Chronicles: The Ritual and the short story: Of Frozen Death and Mysteries. Alathis is 'mid-tier' while Anargrin and Raleas are 'top-tier') while my cousin spectated. Learned quite a lot! Now beginning to sort out magic as Alathis can use magic (not very well, mind you) We had a lot of fun!
Today I need to draw up a simple to use/understand Sigmar army for use as the NPC "Neutral" force in our newly started map campaign. as well as a simple instruction sheet for it.
Worked on a squad of infantry for my guard army and finished off the trim for a squad of plague marines.
Next I need to get some Red Scorpion reivers started (I've been putting them off), and paint Cato Sicarius and his Honour Guard (To accompany their Primarch of course).
My airbrush has been sputtering lately, so I guess I'm reluctant in case I ruin a model.
Huh! The day I decide to base spray my Jaroaite extremist-cultists proxies and a few other minis is the day that my Hero Forge minis arrive. My Attelus Kaltos (who's going to be a proxy of Alathis in my Angaran Chronicles TT Skirmish game, as they're the same character, essentially) Attelus looks great, by far the best mini I've ordered from Hero Forge so far. And the minis of my Rogue Trader NPC's Inquisitor Azakir Halgriv (I had Azakir doing a "blood knight" smile but his face is pretty undefined, it was the same with my Anargin smirking mini, is smiles harder to mould or whatever or something?) of the Ordo Xenos and Interrogator Rhia Venris. So I sprayed them along with my other minis. Decided to do it today as it's winter down here in old Wellingtonnia and it might be the best day to spray in a while. Got it done, which was cool. Cool cool cool.
Sally 4th's "Capt Tasta miniature", from their Albedo Miniatures game line. Review : https://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/18/18944.phtml
Sally 4th also has a "War in Ozz, Wave 2" KS that ends in 12 hours, so figured I'd give them a shoutout! : https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/blackstone/wars-of-ozz-wave-2/
RBJ Games' "Yippers" from their "Yippers and Squealers" miniatures. Review: https://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/18/18947.phtml
RBJ Games also has a "Cultists and Zombies" KS: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1620164718/cultists-and-zombies
Terrain is from the Dungeons and Lasers line of plastic terrain. KS just ended, but sign up for the Late Pledge. : https://www.dungeonsandlasers.com/
Played a solo mission of Shadows of Brimstone which I had to lose after continually drawing new enemies just as I was finishing each fight. Fortunately nobody was permanently scarred mentally or physically
Built some of the Warriors for the Necron half of the newer box set, Primed the Marines. Painting probably won't happen today, but hey. I got Shadowspear done finally, guess it's time to get Indomnius done as well!
Started painting my Cursed City minis. Gont one Skeletons done as well as one hanging token as a test. Now working on one of the ogre zombie dude, trying out colors on him.
Cleaning my ancient Black Coach.
It hasn't been off the shelf in many years & has accumulated quite a bit of dust. Can't take it gaming tomorrow looking like that....
Putting small plastic tiles onto a 2x2 foot base, to make a smaller Necromunda board or adding to my existing pieces to make a large board to fit all the terrain I have built.
Finished assembling my Solitare; he's a damn nice model, so nice I don't mind that he's mono pose at all; he couldn't be posed that way if he wasn't mono pose he's just so dynamic and in motion, it isn't funny. It reminds me of my days practising parkour. The Solitare has to be one of my favourite models up with the Autarch with wings, power sword and fusion pistol. Was thinking of one day making a conversion of Loki from the Loki: Agent of Asgard comics because he has a very strong resemblance. Hope my painting does him justice. I think my colour scheme could look good on him!
I’ve gotten as far as taking out some models and paints to work on finishing my Necron Warriors but my son has decided to give up on sleep tonight and is instead at war with his cot. A hurricane in a babygrow.
Been prepping for tomorrow's session of my Rogue Trader campaign, not exactly feeling it right but hopefully will be back into it tomorrow. Mostly because I'm not a big fan of FFG's void battle rules, especially because the PCs are taking part in a large void battle right now and are going back to it as they just fought off some borders right now.
Tyranid Horde wrote: Finally magnetised my wave serpents but not looking forward to painting all the options!
Ahh jeez, it was bad enough even considering painting my options for my heavy weapons platform lol
Yeah, just wait until you need 2x of each weapon for war walkers, a set for Vypers, a set for Guardians, the list just goes on and on!
I've been working on some Warp Spiders today; the old metal is tough on sable hair.
Oh, by Asuryan, frig that! Lol. It might incentivise me to just keep with Kill Team.
Just had my Rogue Trader, and it was a ton of fun. The PCs, with a few NPCs, including their friend and ally Inquisitor Azakir Halgriv, managed to take down a Pligrims of Hayte Guncutter, which was flying free inside one of their Hangar Bays with just a Chimera and their wits and one super lucky roll with a PCs power claymore managing to cut through one of the Guncutter's wings which was already damaged by an exploded heavy bolter which then set off its ammo payload.
Next session we'll back into the void battle. One of the problems is that there are so many enemy ships and ships allied to the PCs I just keep rolling by myself as GM, might pre roll the enemy ships and have my PCs roll for their allies, that might help.
Starded building another Conquest Jotnar. Also made a check of my KS pledge from the Siege of the Citadel which arrived today after 4,5 years of waiting.
searching the interwebs for stand in miniatures to maybee finally get that Revenant all skeleton VC army going that i had kick around my head for 10 years or so...
I finished the first base layer, reassembled all the parts and pencilled out the camouflage. Now to paint it on.
TBH I'm regretting having bought it now. My modelling skills have already improved to the point where, if I were to do it again, I'd do a lot better.
Secondly, it's too big to paint well without an airbrush. There's a lot of scuffs and painted-in debris because it's just too large to control.
:(
Went to GW and got some advice on my Hero Forge mini of Attelus Kaltos from Secret War his black flak jacket's grey highlights were a bit too light so I used a darker grey as a 'mid tone' and due to Will's advice went over it with Nuln Oil and it looks much better. I also fixed him up a bit and I'm very happy with him now, also seems I've finally gotten used to painting pale as frig skin. I've made rules for him and would like to test them out sooner or later.
Just did some more playtesting of the TT Skirmish game I'm making with my cousin. We tried out a new stealth mechanic which worked very well might do one small tweak from my cousin's critique and a couple more things to it that I made up at the time, but otherwise, it worked exactly how I wanted it to, very happy. We then tried a new scenario I though up where my team made up of Anargrin, Raleas, Wilom and Alathis had to escort and protect an NPC from the middle of the table so she can survive five turns (we did only 4 as my cousin had to leave) from my cousin's hordes led by an Original Vampire and an elf-sniper characters. It was fun, could use a bit of fixing maybe. He made those characters using my character creation rules and it went pretty well, he got a little confused due to a misunderstanding of a suggestion he gave me a while back, but otherwise, it was simple and he did it quite fast.
I really feel my game rules are getting somewhere now!
Finished off a unit of 10 Necron Warriors. Not entirely sure about them yet, definitely can improve the quality of the Tesseract Glow work (or maybe change entirely to a different colour as I’m not sure the blue and green is a great combo).
Rebasing 30 tactical marines 'cos i might use them at a tourney that requires it (and to fit with new units). I'm just 3 back banners and some sand away from having 1000pts complete.
Here's the leuitenant (warlord) with sniper-friendly white helmet
Bloodthirster progressing since last night. Since saturday been doing khorne to get them beyond primer stage for first game. Practically no highlights done.
Bloodthirster base like that as it fell and flame broke...and couldn't get it safe so...darn it let it be big ice tactical rock. Now it stays together. And flames would be weird in ice base.
(pre-fall plan was to model melted field around flame. Daemonic flames burst out instamelting ice style)
Finished up last mini batch of Bones minis I had partially prepped for over a year. They are now done and am now prepping for a summer rest. Which usually means if I do paint it'll be terrain only.
And trying to fix the botched varnishing I gave my Necron Warriors with Munitorium Varnish spray - serious cloudiness on the colorshift paint I was using. A layer of gloss has restored it somewhat but it’s not what it was.
Trying to clear a few things- Pigapult and Fat Cap for Malifaux, plus starting Year One Batman and my last Bushido ninja and mucking around with some terrain markers for Bushido as well
Ordered the appropriate bases for all the figures I got off ebay. I got a box full of sprues, but I guess he kept the bases.
Built and primed a Grey Seer on Screaming Bell. Can't decide if I want to start painting it, or build some Stormfiends first. Maybe a little form column A, little from column B.
Got a shipping update that my cursed city box should come today. If so, the rat army is going to take a back seat to that elf lady with the bow. Super excited.
One friend was organising his GSC, another was building Necro Terrain. One more built Be'lakor, and another build 2 Paragon Suits and the Underworlds Vampires.
I built 10 Dire Wolves (the old ones) and 13 Bestigors, all for Quest games.
Worked bit on 15 blood warriors, assembled 10 wind chargers, nearly completed non-named wind elemental, started on wind mage, prepared small sob army to a teaching game in 40k and prepared 2 maniples and support warlord for at demo game ln thursday
No painting but I stripped some LOTR minis I had gotten as well as based coated a pile of AoS models getting ready for 3rd edition. Probably wont paint them up just yet but at least they are ready for Autumn when I start to hibernate again.
The “TAG – Gobudai, Riders of the Shimmering Horde. 28mm Old School Goblin Warg rider miniatures.” KS started today, so I thought I’d give them a mention with one of their halfling yeoman miniatures, “HLM038 Halfling Lord, mtd on amoured rooster & on foot”.
Was playing game of 40k vs new player. Very old fashioned game as we trimmed rules down to minimum focusing on learning units so no army rules, stratagems, subfactions, warlord traits or rellcs. Felt like 3-5th ed!
As was facing gsc first time ever i had rare case of having trouble wlth opponents units as well. "is this cutter or drill? What gun is This?". Last time been this green in 40k has been ages ago. Usually have some idea but gsc haven't even seen much in videos...
Recently finished my old school jungle trees! First did my own set from the 3rd edition box set (talk about old!) then got some more from a FB group for cheap and managed to make 2 more bases out of them!
Nice jungle Skywave, you bring the10k worth of 'nids, i'll bring Sly Marbo.
Today I am building a Hades Breaching Drill from Goliath bits, balsa wood, a 1/72 tank I bought by mistake, and lollipop sticks. I use lollipop sticks in all my conversions as it means I get to eat loads of lollys.
Began assembling my Gaunt's Ghosts minis I just bought today, and in the midst of it realised I'm a huge hypocrite, that I was unwilling to buy five Howling Banshees for $105.00 NZD but willing to buy six minis for $130.00 just because they're from the Tanith First and Only. Oh well... I've built up my favourite character Rawne who's also my least favourite model due to his head looking weirdly elongated, but the unpainted version looks better, so it could've been how it was painted. I also assembled my favourite model of the box Mkoll. With his posing he looks like such a badass (which he is)
Stripped some second hand models including the old metal Chaos Space Marine Warlord and Dreadnought. I think I’m now starting a CSM army - need to decide what heretical chapter to do. I love the classic Black Legion colours but like the Night Lords in terms of fluff.
Painted a few bits and pieces on my minis, the faces of my Inquisitor Azakir Halgriv OC mini and young Anargrin or medivale Anargrin from and the stormcoat brown of my Interrogator Rhia Venris mini all from Hero Forge. Fixed up my Farseer I got from the Start Collecting box. And uhh, yeah. Been slack as hell on my painting and stuff, but will try to get a bit back into it now.
Having a hard time getting my bases right for Cursed City. I would like to go for a color similar to the stock models and/or Gravelord models, but haven't found any guide yet and my own test with what I have on hand are not quite were I'd like them to be.
Still did some in the meantime, gotta move on if I want to paint the minis.
Did a bit of masking and airbrushing over the weekend, adding some stripes to my windriders and vyper as well as getting the base layers down on my Wraithblades for the painting challenge:
Been pretty productive today, as well as writing quite a lot of the 2nd novel of my Angaran Chronicles series, I assembled Corbec and Gaunt, did a bit more painting of my Farseer and my HP minis, but most of all on my Solitare, base painted most of him ready for the next layer. Feeling good!
A bit more work on my Solitaire, he's looking pretty cool and got my copy of The Vincula Insurgency, which is pretty much why I haven't done more painting and stuff.
Painting Gorman and Newt from Aliens. Will do the other Marines in a batch and concentrate on Ripley on her own. Had fun trying to do the patches on Gorman’s uniform.
I finally got around to cutting foam trays for some of the larger Necron pieces.
x3 Transcendent CTan, Void Dragon, Nightbringer, Deceiver, x3 modern Wraiths, x2 Annihilation Barges & Cryptek all have proper homes now.
With a bit of room set aside for a Chronomancer when I get around to building him.
Did a bit today, almost finished painting my Solitare, pretty happy with him so far. Assembled all of the Ghosts fethed up my Larkin's left arm a bit so now it's a bit flaky so had to spend time fixing that. Hoping to base coat them tomorrow if the weather's alright, which it will be according to the forecast. Also began assembling my Shadow Warriors for War Cry. They're damned nice models.
Did some solo stargrave, before editing the piece for medium. Lots of fun. Also trying to get a few models and terrain painted before Sunday game of firefight
The Assault Group's "Gobudai, Riders of the Shimmering Horde : 28mm Old School Goblin Warg rider miniatures" has six days to go, so I figured I'd give them a shoutout with one of their previous miniatures. A rooster.
Just undercoat sprayed my Gaunt's Ghosts and a few other minis, including a Shoggoth by Reaper minis. Planning to use it as a Jaroai for my Angaran Chronicles Table Top Skirmish game, it makes sense as Jaroai can take many forms and they too are horrific Eldritch Abominations. Also some more Chaos Cultists from the Assassinorum Execution force box I bought it at a board game convention Wellycon for only $40, which had everything in it. Such an unbelievably good deal. Been using them as proxies for Jaroaite or Jaroaian Extremists for playtesting and they fit perfectly with their primitive-looking weaponry and everything.
Looking forward to a D&D game in a few hours. Doubly so as I get to run a character after way too long a stint just DMing.
Don't get me wrong, I love DMing. But I need to sit as a player as well or the old RPG gyro gets out of balance. And when that happens whatever I'm running suffers quality wise....
Finally finished my Blood Bowl Goblins after having them sit 80% done for a year, finished Kirai for Malifaux and started on a few other Malifaux Gremlins
Sally 4th miniatures launched its not-Discworld “Guard’s Guards” KS, so I thought I’d give them a shoutout with one of their Villagers miniatures. Contact the company for details on ordering it. Hope your painting turns out less creepy…
Yesterday I tidied up all my hobby stuff, and got a whole extra shelf, and everything organised, ready to press on and get my guard army finished (estimate 2 more months). Today I may get an hour in between shifts at work (if my boy has a nap) to fix and touch up the first squads I painted, which I found to be in need of some TLC.
Not much work on my minis, went into town and got some advice on my painting from my local GW. Now trying to do prep for my Rogue Trader session tomorrow. Really find my attention shooting around the room with my ADHD too much, though lol
Making a two-storey Magnavent Walkway and thinking about making it three-storey as I’ve another one and a half kits there. Though maybe I’ll make another two storey one with a ruined second storey?
I guess I should stop checking my minis because I manage to always find something to fix After finding the gaps on 2 zombies I did find few things on others that required using a file to look properly.
Back into lockdown from today, so started on the hobby grind as much as possible. Painted up all 7 Bakemono I needed to play them in Bushido and made a start on the last 5 Wastrel models I have unpainted for Malifaux.
Managed to mostly assemble my Shadow Warriors and Sisters of Avelorn. I'm enjoying the challenge to make them have dynamic poses when they are almost mono pose and that they're WHFB so regimental and enclosed as not to interfere with the other models. It's easier to do with the Shadow Warriors who wield both a bow and sword but the Sisters, not so much.
Played shadows of brimstone yesterday.
Also caught up on some painting projects.
Finished a band of oathmark goblin wolf riders, a rust monster, a leucrotta and primed some stargrave guys.
Almost done with Qulathis the Exile. Working on her base and then have a few of the leather pieces to finish. She looks so good.
Also, since basing is on the table, I started another set of bases for my Skaven. About 30 bases worth of putty and GS rolling.
Just finished assembling my Shadow Warriors and Sisters of Avelorn, except for the Shadow Warrior leader whose head I've glued to a wire as with it being on it'd be awkward to paint his face with the high collar from the cloak. Want to prime them but it's pouring down with rain right now. I'm looking forward to playing War Cry with them sooner or later. Might paint my Gaunt's Ghosts next.
Finishing off bases for my Bakemono and a few final coats on what's left of my Malifaux Wastrel keyword, just waiting on tufts to arrive to finish off both properly
Been putting together the Celestian Sacresants for my other half. Lovely models. Went for the Halbard option as we have a lot of Power Armour armies in the house.
If I get time I will be putting the rest of the Corvus Cabal together, the final specifically designed Warcry gang I have left to do.
It's a nice calm day today so I just finished priming my Shadow Warriors and Sisters of Avelorn. I primed the SW's black and the Sister's grey-white. But I also primed the SW leader's helmetless head grey-white, thought I'd give it a go and see what happens.
prepped a few of the old warjack wreck markers to paint up (don't think they have actual rule purpose anymore, but they'll make nice scatter terrain regardless) and digging out all i need for a game of warmahordes later today (be the first game of it i've gotten in in a good 2 years)
Finished all of my Bayou bases, working on a few misc pieces to finish off Malifaux lots and prepping all my Monsterpocalypse units for paint over the weekend
Just play tested a new scenario I thought of for my Angaran Chronicles TT Skirmish game with a friend, where one side is summoning one of the antagonistic eldritch abominations of the setting a Jaroai and the attackers are...well trying to stop them. It was fun, but the scenario is a bit too hard for the attackers so might change a few things. Also forced me to make the stats of a Jaroai which I've been putting off. The Jaroai was top tier and boy was it powerful which fits with the fluff.
Put together some reinforcements for my Death Guard (Foul Blightspawn and a converted Mephytic Blight Hauler) and started assembling Blackstone Fortress.
Made me a wet pallette as my paint seemed to be drying in seconds on my NEWS paper and made it so much better. Base painted my Gaunt's Ghosts skin with Rakarth Flesh as well as my Sisters of Avelorn and the Shadow Warrior leader. Layered on Pallid Witch Flesh on the Ghosts except for Gaunt who I'm layering Kislev Flesh on next.
Edit: Oh and also fixed the top of my Anargrin's right eye, between his eye and eyebrow with a dab of Rakarth Flesh, looks way better, then had to dab some black on the said eye. Looks much better now!
Organizing all of my non-minis Flames of War stuff - books, unit cards, upgrade cards, terrain....
Since I moved a few months ago things have been scattered throughout boxes, mixed across book shelves, etc etc etc.
Today, I started writing for a project I've had on my mind for quite a while: a postapocalyptic skirmish game. I have some base mechanics, but it will be quite some work before I can start testing things.
Sold all my armies and army books for my various Warhammer armies, same for the rest of my collection. No need to have them sitting around when they will not be used nor give any joy.
Been pretty productive in the way of painting today, quite a bit more work on my Gaunt's Ghosts and Shadow Warriors. Have a game of War Cry scheduled on Sunday so I'm hoping to get them at least table ready by then, but I'm still not sure what colours to paint my Sisters of Avelorn. Know my Shadow Warriors, though.
Did quite a bit more painting including my Shadow Warriors. But now they look like LOTR minis, I knew I shouldn't have painted their cloaks Caliban Green! lol
Been assembling Blackstone Fortress very slowly. Messed up the bolter on one of the CSM models when drilling the barrel - one of my pet peeves about modelling.
Painted the bases of my Anargrins, Raleas, and Attelus/Alathis Hero Forge minis. Also painted Anargrin's pants with Agrax Earthshade and dry brushed it with Terminus Stone for beige, happy with how they look.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Almost finished my Shadow Warriors, just gotta do the gems. I'm pretty happy with them even though they seem like they're from LOTR. Going for an understated or dare I say it, practical 'stealthy' colour scheme.
Had a session of my Rogue Trader today was fun; the PCs killed a frig of a lot of Sons of Dispater mercenaries and a few "shock troop" Widowers. After that, managed to base coat my Sisters of Avelorn for my Way Cry game tomorrow. They look alright, will have to finish them properly. Still gotta finish my Shadow Warriors too, but will do it later.
Played both my 2nd and 3rd games of War Cry with my Sisters of Avelorn and Shadow Warriors. Lost the 1st and won the 2nd. 2nd due to the scenario being hilariously unbalanced in favour for me. Made me realise how unbalanced games can be in it due to the random nature of the deployment, scenario etc. Was fun as feth, though lol
Not much today, in all honesty, managed to finally break through my writer's block and do some writing on my 2nd Angaran Chronicles novel, which I'm enjoying writing. A little bit of work on my Shadow Warriors, assembled my 2nd Eisenhorn (using liquid super glue which works so much better than the thick super glue I was using) Also had to fix the tip of Anargrin's nose due to it somehow being scraped off.
I am planning to make a start either building my kataphron servitors or painting up my other dakkabot. Got a hell of a cold at the minute so I think maybe building will be easier than painting.
Built & primed a singe Chippewa fighter for Aerotech/BattleTech.
Now I'm browsing pics of RL military planes for paint scheme inspiration.
A handful of us at the local shop are going to give Aerotech a spin/demo next week. So we each grabbed a single fighter off the pegs...
It's been 30+ years since I last used aerospace fighters in BT, so I couldn't tell you what a Chippewa does anymore. But the minis cool looking.
Painted everything but fire and bases on my Kaeris crew for Malifaux, and finished writing a crew overview about Mei Feng for my blog. Tomorrow is fire, bases later in the week
Played my game with my flatmate/friend yesterday. He played the Warband made up of my main characters while I played the horde of Jaroaite extremists. I had a lot of fun despite the fact I got absolutely slaughtered. Anargrin just sliced and diced through my men like they were made of butter. I rolled pretty terribly and my friend played well for someone new.
Also did a bit little more painting work on my Shadow Warriors of Nargarythe, quite happy with them so far. The leader.
Painted up a Chippawa areospace fighter for BattleTech/AreoTech.
Desert tan top side, grey-white underside. Not anything award winning, but pleased with the result.
Now I just have to figure out how to make unit badge & # decals small enough to fit on its' tail fins....
Unfortunately my Grymwatch ghoul from above was not stable enough, and ended on his face I had to make a new contruction providing his damaged leg more support. Made a tombstone a bit smaller and glued his right knee to it as well as his right foot to the new rabble. Now he may look less impressive but at least he can stand.
Making cohesion tokens for ADLG (Art de la Guerre).
They need to be green, yellow and red.
I'm going for something that looks less out of place on an ancient battlefield, so sticking tufts to buttons (the clothing kind).
Grass for green, flowers for yellow and cork painted red-brown for red.
Built a pair of Fomoroid (sp?) Crushers for War Cry/AoS this evening. Very nice models.
Also discovered that about 1/2 the packs weight comes from all the copies of the WC stat card included. There's cards for 8 different languages! Of wich I only need 1 (if that)....
So, rather than just throw the other 7 cards away, I've decided to attach them to bases & use them as cardstock pawns of Fomoroids.
Now instead of having two models I'll have 2 plastic & 14! cardstock Fomoroids. 1700+pts from only 2 boxes/$80 - What a deal!
Finished bases on my Easterlings so that army is now finished, working on 2 Blood Bowl Trolls to finish off my Goblins/Underworld before I do bases on all the Goblins
40k: the first 25 PL match in our newest Crusade. My Necrons vs a very unfortunate Death Watch team. Victory = Necrons at the tp f turn 3.
Flames of War (WWII): 1st real game of FoW in over a year. Man were we both rusty at this....
My Late war Japanese vs LW US Marines. We ended it on draw since the shop was closing - though had the game gone another round or two I truly believe my Japanese would've won. Technically I probably won on unit pts kill wise - but we didn't even think to add that up.
Tonight we gave Aerotech (space fighters for Battletech) a spin.
It was mostly a learning game, so it moved pretty slow. And we're sure we missed something.
Building wise;
Built a platoon of Japanese amphibious tanks for Flames of War.
Been looking into building more 3D scenery for historical wargaming, using recyclable material to save money. Anyone know what kind of paint works best with clear plastic?

I would starat with a good quality primer. Maybe use some sand paper to roughen the surface if it is very smooth.
After watching a review of Cyberpunk 2077, or during to be more accurate, I played Cyberpunk 2077 for the first time in a while. Swallowed my pride and decreased the resolution and graphics
and it seems better now framerate wise and I managed to pass a stealth mission I was stuck on for Bangam I'd been frustrated trying to play for ages now. Wondering when the next update is going to come as it's been a month now and by the Emperor, this game needs more updates still.
Edit: WOOPS! Wrong thread. Closest I've done on hobby stuff was playtest my TT Skirmish game with my friend and he game me some excellent critique. Yes.

Hadn’t considered either of those ideas. Will certainly look into those. Thanks!
Painting more of the clothes on those darn clan rats of mine. I'm doing them all a hodgepodge of colors rather than one color for the whole army. We'll see how it turns out.
Finally clearing up my gaming room. On no less than 3 occasions I have opened a box to find between 5 and 10 random Adeptus Custodes still on the sprue.
It's weird coming across so many unopened boxes. When getting my Dark Eldar ready to put into storage I found two unopened boxes of Chaos Raptors. Put them with the other three!
I filled a 50L tub with just unbuild Primaris Marine sprues (I'd have a few more to put in there, but the courier with the rest of my Primaris arrived before I woke up this morning).
Currently filling another 50L tub with unbuilt Eldar, Harlis and Dark Eldar. This is quite a bit of fun.
I will have pics. "Pile of Shame" is such an understatement I can't even begin to describe what I'm looking at.
It's 1am, and so far I have: Filled a 50L tub with Primaris Marines. Filled a 50L tub with Eldar/Dark Eldar/Harlequins. Filled a 50L tub with two Dark Uprising's worth of Zone Mortalis terrain + a bunch of Necromunda gangs. Filled a 50L tub with Chaos Marines, Death Guard and some Chaos Daemons stuff. Discovered 40 completely unbuilt Adeptus Custodes in various places around my house.
All of this stuff is still on the sprue.
I'm no where near through what needs to be organise and consolidated.
So much stuff...
Spoiler:
Also put all the various limited edition things I haven't built yet together for a group shot:
Spoiler:
And got a nice group shot of about 90% of my built Sector Mechanicus stuff:
H.B.M.C. , i gotta say, i'm somewhat sad you don't actually have a throne built of guard tanks like i've always secretly thought somewhere in those pics of shame mountain
as for what i'm working on today, i'm currently waiting on a layer of water effect to dry on some gatorman posse bases
