I have a bunch more rats on the way as well! Warband should be complete soon. Just need some Stormvermin and a few more Slaves.
Love those Skavens! Well painted, and characterful sculpt!
On my end I'm painting my Maleceptor. Doing some extra effort for him as it's for a competition on the Tyranids Discord (for fun, nothing serious), so taking a bit more time but still going well. Only the (magnetized) arms left to do!

Have to:
*paint up 3, maybe 4, D&D figures tonight.
*complete building 5 kannon for my 40k Grots.
*fully paint 10 40k grots - they earned their glory (IE paint). Using an Aquilla Vortex Missile Strongpoint, they nuked the Silent King OoLoS just shy of dead turn 1. They didn't kill him, but this pasting kept him hiding for most of the battle while he regenerated. This no doubt saved many Grot lives. Sadly they missed him on turn #2. And then their Vortex Missile silo was blown to bits by a lot of reeally angry Necron fire. 3/10 grots died in the explosion, & 1 more ran away (to tell the tale!) due to morale. The remaining 6 were shot down next turn. But by Gork/Mork did they earn their paint in that 1st turn.

I intend to spend today watching Netflix & painting minis.
•40k - more grots & grot tanks/gunz
•AoS - Slaves to Darkness Marauders
•AoS - Stormcast. I need to at least clearly differentiate a few too similar looking units. Color coding bases or such at a minimum.
•D&D - several characters & a few animal like monsters.
•D&D - I also need to draw a few maps, make some landing boat templates, type up a few npc character sheets and finish building a goblin crewed Viking ship....
We'll see how much of this to-do list I get through.
And I swear, I am NOT going to answer any calls to battle.....
Since I plan to be home this evening I might poke my head out of my hole in order to pick up a pizza from my favorite shop (they don't deliver).

My Hobby space is an absolute mess. It is my defacto gaming room and it is littered with boxes and models as well as random assortment of hobby supplied. Especially terrain supplies and stuff I either found or horded with the plan to "Eventually" make Terrain out of it.
Anyway I got zero painting done over the weekend but started working on storage for my Empire Army. First step was to magnetize and make bases for all my loose regiments in various states of completion.
Take some artist animation board I got at the art store, balsa wood and tin sheet metal I got at the hobby store and BAM movement tray.

Rather than buying new stuff I've decided to tidy up some of my older, often stripped stuff that's been bagged and neglected for too long for various reasons (including couldn't figure out a nice paint svheme).
On my to do list there is:
About twenty infinity figures - a mix of pan-o, ariadna and yu-jing.
12 doom reavers (khador/warmachine)
10 tharn bloodtrackers, a than white mand, 4 ravages and a ravager chief.
5 sm scouts for my a Minotaurs.
Strongly thinking of appropriating the tharn for our 'not-warcry' game.

Taking a break from English Civil War pikemen and musketmen. Warlord Games plastics.
Hands are absolutely shredded by sharp metal spearpoints (I used brass rod).
Still not as bad as a few weeks back, when I was replacing 50 spears in an Anglo-Danish army with metal ones. I drilled the hands out and I think I had 5 plasters covering blood-gushing drillholes in my fingers by the end of the day.
Those were Victrix minis - pretty nice figures, but the plastic weapons are really thin and brittle. I had more breakages just assembling and priming those 50 figures than I've ever had on a project.

Got inspired (thx to Guerilla Miniature Games) to rebase some OLD Old old Terminators to use strictly for Space Hulk. They are now all on 32 mm so the bases fit the board squares. I'm part of the way to finishing the paint on all of them.
Bought a box of the current GSC Hybrids to use as Genestealer Hybrids for some Space Hulk games. Found 3 sprues of the original Hybrid arms in the Pile O' Shame; was gifted the ancient plastic Chaos Missile Launcher, Autocannon, Conversion Beamer to arm the Hybids; found a 1st ed. Laspistol; then built the Hybrids as the 10 options that can appear in the game.

No painting started on the 'stealers, for reasons. <cough>
Such as correction of a number of small issues found on the Knights I purchased from a friend:
I repaired a damaged Autocannon on a Helverin.
I carefully hack-sawed the left Avenger Gatling Cannon from the double-Gatling Questoris, at the "pivot" on the left arm, so that a Gauntlet can be attached instead [the Gatling Cannon will be retained as an alternate weapon for my Paladin so that it can transform into a Crusader when the mood hits me].
The "neck" armor of the Questoris was missing making the "head" awkwardly exposed. So, I have trimmed the armature that positions the "head" so that it can be moved upwards to sit neatly beneath the carapace armor.
Next I need to find bits in my copious supply from my Ad Mech to jury-rig an armature so that the Tilting Shield can be installed.
I continue to ponder the paint-scheme, but it is certain I will create my own so that the models are House-agnostic for maximum diversity of play-options.

Not today, but yesterday I was pretty productive. Got my Eldar combat patrol box so the awesome Eldar Guardian heads and looked through them finding one awesome one for my Corsair leader, so I rushed out to prime then and my Hero Forge minis but got bubbly parts on the models but I'm not sure if was due to humidity or if I hadn't shaken the can enough after it'd been sitting around in my old house for months without usage. I also sprayed the head too much for my Corsair leader so I've had to strip the paint off it. I stopped out of frustration but did the new Hero Forge mini of Attelus Kaltos and go no bubbly bits so it mightve been due to not shaking it enough as I'd shaken the frig out of it before spraying him.
Then I mostly assembled my Corsairs legs, torso, it's a bit of a shame how mono pose the Corsairs are, but it seems I can put any weapon on any of then and it will work, so that's pretty cool.

Finally bit the bullet and sold off my Ossiarch Bonereaper and Nighthaunt armies, spending about 2 hours drowning them in bubblewrap and posting them off to hopefully better homes. I really need to stop buying armies off ebay while bored at work, despite my good intentions they mostly just sit under my bed for months until I feel enough shame to sell them.
On a completely unrelated note, the plan for the day is putting together my new Ork 40k starter force, hopefully prime a squad of boyz and get a layer of paint on them.

This morning I built another Big Gunz Lobba for my Grots.
A lobba is essentially just a mortar on a 3"mv/T5/3W vehicle chassis.
I used a Bolt Action WWII Universal Carrier (mortar - you can see the sculpted ammo), added 3 guard mortar tunes & a grot head to the drivers sculpted torso.
Two more grot crew are needed & I may add some more details.

Not expecting to get any actual gaming in today. So it'll be a perfect time to build some improved carry/storage trays for my Grot army.
Also working on re-gunning the turrets on a 2nd hand Grot Mega-Tank. It's going from the random mix/mess its former owner equipped it with to all rokkits.
3/5 turrets finished so far.
edit: Well, none of that happened.
Instead I got to play afterall!
Maybe tomorrow evening for the tray building....

Had a bunch of people around to play, and set up 3 tables. Got through a turn and half of my game in total because I was so busy fixing everything for everyone else. *sigh* Next time if they show up without a list, they're just not playing... I can't keep doing everything for everyone. On the bright side my Hieodule not only made it into combat (and ate a Chimera), it didn't instantly die to return fire during my opponent's turn.

Been pretty productive-ish today, mostly stripping paint off some minis I'd frigged up a bit before finally painting proper. Almost finished my newest Hero Forge version of Attelus Kaltos which I'm pretty happy with him so far.
I also began testing a paint scheme for my Eldar Corsairs and I'm quite liking the colour scheme I would post pics but it's late now and the lighting isn't good. It's green and some blue and a little red. I love green too much, I tried to test it without green, but failed miserably lol. Not sure about the red parts, though. Having fun with it.

Haven't done any serious hobbying in over a month! This weekend though I sat down and finished another tree stand That has been half-done on my desk since February.
MDF base I bought from a local company that makes them. The trees I got over Christmas at the Dollar store. They are mostly for Christmas village displays, so I ran them in hot water and scrapped off the snow then glued and flocked them. Bit more labour intensive then just buying hobby trees, but at 1 dollar a tree you cant go wrong.

Got the base layers down on my 23 Reptisaurians for Massive Darkness. Massive pain in the neck tbh, the mobs are far too big in this game, it's very tedious to batch paint this many at once. Luckily MD2 went down to 7 man mobs, which I am looking forward to painting a lot more than the 23 Ratkin and 23 Barbarians I still need to do for MD1.

Well, I've been painting some AdMech - two each of a Dominus, Manipulus, Engineseer, and Datasmith. Both varieties of the Dominus and Manipulus, then all the other guys because they are there.
I've also painted a Solar Auxilia Strategos - actually a version of one, printed by a friend in one of his marathon printing fits. He couldn't use it for anything so I got it because I like the mini. I will use it in my AdMech as a proxy Technoarcheologist: it is distinct enough that it won't be confused for anything else in my army, and I simply can't find the official model anywhere for a reasonable price.
Next I painted 4 Kastellans, and soon I will be painting 4 Dragoons.
[Everything is just getting their main colors blocked in at this time, and I'll continue doing this for my Troops and Elites, until I have the entire army in its colors - only then will I begin applying transfers: I figure I should become efficient with the process by focusing upon it.
Then back to finishing the painting by unit.]

Been working too much and not had time to make much progress, managed to at least finish the base layers on my reptisaurians and managed to get a wash/contrast on top before work this morning. Now just need a day off to start the real painting.
Yesterday I managed to get the first of my ork boys primed. I used Greenstuffworld black primer for the first time and I'm pretty shocked by how black and hie matte it is, they look like they are made of charcoal, its really weird! Very smooth coat though, it'd gone on lovely.
Successfully sold my goblins army while at work, making that 3 armistice and about £600 worth of shame removed from the pile!

A bit today, more on my Corsairs and finished an old Harlequin mini I'd assembled and primed, frig, a good three or four months back. I found my Corsairs sorta missed something, so I painted lead belcher on thins such as belt parts and such (despite deciding not to paint metallics on them) But it made a huge difference. It also dawned on me how much work I have in the pipeline as I sorta wish to begin a Kill Team club in my new town. Wanna finish my Custodes Kill Team, my Veteran Guardsmen, my Ork Kommandos, my Chaos Space Marines (both from the Nachmund and Eldritch Omens box) As well as all of the terrain from said boxes. As well as the Eldar Rangers, Guardians and Storm Guardians so anyone wanting to play an Eldar Conpemdium KT has more options (if they're a bit nutty as Eldar seem to suck but them's the breaks)
It'd be very cool to have all of the teams ready for any one wishing to give the game a go!

Assembled my Kill Team: Nachmund terrain and had a ton of fun doing it. The crane was a bit of a doozy (lol only Warhammer 40,000 would have a skull on a crane, never change 40k, never change) And primed most of it. Did some fixing to my Corsairs and began basing them, but the basing paint and the base coat was taking too long to dry so I stopped. Will prime the rest of the little terrain parts tomorrow and maybe assemble my Kill Team: Octarius terrain as well.
I might make the 2nd bespoke team the Ork Kommandos. I'm planning to make them a part of the Bloody Skullz an Ork group I introduced in my ongoing Rogue Trader (they're from the scenario inside the RT core rule book) But I decided to expand on them a lot. The scenario claimed these Orks were different due to living near an alien artefact, but they seemed to make them pretty much the same, so I made Warboss Dakkdreff who's an atheist materialist who wants to be 'da biggest baddest ork dis side 'o' the sectah!' He's essentially a parody of myself and he's so fun to RP even if his voice destroys my throat. The PCs like him a lot because he promised to ally with them after Inquisitor Azakir Halgriv defeated him lol.
The buildings are also of the Orks under Dakkdreff and the graffiti is going to be things like: 'Logik and reason above all!' and 'Der ain't gods or kings only da WAAGGHH!' lol

Would've done more but had to help my dad fix a leak in the roof which took up most of the day. Hoping to assemble my Kill Team Octarius terrain tomorrow. I primed one with my grey spray and tested him out, and it looked pretty good, quite a bit faster than the layering method I'm used to. I'm gonna keep them simple. Then primed the rest of them grey too, except for the shadow Moses Island scuba gear Gretchen I primed him black with the brush on primer I bought a few weeks back.

Managed to get total of seven Ork Boyz "table ready" five of which I started today including the Squig.
I'm a bit torn on contrast paints they look good and all but painting in white/light gray makes any bits I miss stick out like sore thumbs. I had that same problem with my cultists from The Assassinorum: Execution Force cultists. Due to priming them light gray as I wanted to use then as proxies for Jaroaite/Jaroaian extremists for the tt skirmish game I was making for my Angaran Chronicles series as the colors of that religion are white and gold. But changed my mind because I also wanted to use then for Execution force so painted then dark gray and with beige cloaks. It took along time to get rid of white spots etc by the end I couldn't even be bothered painting high lights lol they are just cannon fodder after all and they look okay.
Also decided on the fluff of my Orks while painting them today. They aren't The Bloody Skulls but the Gold Toofs because due to some reason their teeth grow gold and so other Orks are trying to kill them for their rare teef. So the Gold Toofs pretty much hate other Orks and above all else love 'crumpin'' 'em. Going so far as sometimes being hired as mercy by other races to fight other Orks. They also value gold above all other colors and der nobs always are blinginger that the rank and file Boyz. But the warboss is always da blingiest lol

Finally just about finished painting the Reptisaurians for Massive Darkness. They were looking terrible for about 90% of the process, but thankfully the top layer of skin turned them around and I'm actually quite pleased with how they've come out, considering the quantity of them and the level of squishiness in some of the details in the boardgame plastic. I'll be happy to move onto a different project though, batch painting 23 models is not my idea of a good time.
I've been messing around with an old squad of space marines I had lying around, trying to find a nice colour/scheme to do the HH miniatures when they arrive. I had planned to do Emperors Children, but I just couldn't get a purple I liked to spray on easily, the only way to get it "acceptable" to me involved far more effort than I'd want to do for every single mini. So instead, they'll be blood angels as I found an incredibly easy way of doing them and getting very satisfactory results, including on vehicles after giving it a go on a random Eldar Falcon I have had laying around in a box for about 25 years ago

I managed to get all the Orks of my Gold Toofs Kommando team table ready. Just have the Solid Snake Gretchen and base them to go. That's two out of four of my bespoke Kill Teams finished now have Chaos Marines and the Veteran Guard to go. Chaos Marines next, as I think for my Vet Guard, I might have to do some heavy conversions. Dunno if I'll be able to play with my friend tomorrow as I don't know the rules well enough. I didn't have time to read over the book at all.
I still have a huge pile of shame to get through, though. Blackstone Fortress, my many Eldar units (it'd be cool to finally have a proper 2,000-point army for the first time, ever) And my High Elf Dragon would be awesome to finally paint. Getting through it all bit by bit.

Haven't updated for a while but been quite productive. Assembled and primed my Death Jester and Shadowseer as well as a few Chaos Marines and a squad of Rangers from my Eldritch Omens box. Began painting my Warlock on jetbike I got for Christmas and finally began assembling and priming my Autarch from the Eldritch Omens box. Decided to make him modular and plan on doing that with Blu Tac as I can't be bothered magnotising or pinning him. It took me a while as I couldn't find his torso part but found it which made me happy. Primed the equipment on the sprue. Automatically Appended Next Post: Base painted most of my old guardian squad that I primed...frigging months ago now, as well as my new Autarch batch painting them but it's going pretty well. I realised I focus too much on my HQ minis and need to knuckle down and finish my troops, especially now because Dire Avengers are in the Elites slot so my three squads are no longer the troops I needed them to be. Also more options for Kill Team too. Next, maybe? My Rangers, yeah, both boxes of Rangers.

Now properly-ish finished base painting my Guardians and Autarch. I'm doing the normal Guardians as a part of my Craftworld Dalorsia (which is in Secret War) the helmets of normal Guardians are black with a white face plate and more specialised Guardians such as the ones who control the heavy weapons platforms with white helmets and black face plates (which doesn't make sense from a tactical standpoint, but oh well) and I'm very happy with how the ones with black helmets look. I'm having fun with them, despite how undefined and tiny so many of the details on the old school Guardians. I'm looking forward to assembling the new box I have and painting them, but Rangers next!

Mostly finished painting my old Guardians, too bad I realised afterwards their bases were too small, but oh well. Assembled my 2nd box of Rangers and one of my boxes of Guardian Defenders. I decided to focus on troops choices first (excluding my 2nd box of Guardians as I'm making them Storm Guardians, mostly for KT) and once they're painted and ready, I'm doing Fast Attack starting with my new Shining Spears, (as Fast Attack is one of the things Eldar are known for) Then when they're done, Heavy Support then my Wave Serpents before coming back to my unfinished HQs and Elites as I've got so much of both of those it isn't funny. I hope making that plan will help me knuckle down and finally finish my Eldar into a legal 2,000 or so point army (even though I plan on using One Page Rules rather than the official rules)

Primed my 2nd squad of Rangers and 2nd squad of Guardians. I did a demo model of a Ranger colour scheme and I'm so happy with how he turned out, he was also a ton of fun to paint, the new Rangers are very nice minis. I began base painting two more Rangers as well as doing touch-ups on my old Guardians, the Autarch from the Eldritch Omens box, my oldish plastic Farseer and my Skyrunner Warlock, his jetbike mostly.
I was going to batch paint both my ten Rangers and Guardian Defenders at once but decided just to do the Rangers for now. I batch painted fourteen of the fifteen Cultists from Assassinorum: Execution Force and that was bad enough so just doing the Rangers, for now, they can also fill two troop slots, unlike the Guardians.
It feels good to get things done!

Was not done today, but this past Thursday and Friday - I painted 24 Battletech miniatures in two distinct color schemes.
They are from one of the older plastic starter sets, bought for very little cash at a local convention some years ago.
They join 24 others of a different copy of the same set, for a total of 48 miniatures divided into 4 distinctly painted forces, to be used in games of Alpha Strike! So glad for those rules, now games of B'Tech can be completed in a reasonable amount of time, and while fielding multiple lances per side.

36 minis primed today. I’m building a dread and a sergeant. Then need to build the bases of 11 more. Then I’ll have 10 terminators, 20 beak marines, 10 assault intercessors, 6 vanguards, a lieutenant, and a dreadnought to paint.

Finished five of the six Nighthaunt units from Arena of Shades. Just the Scriptor Mortis left.
These five were the first where I've added extra stuff to the bases; in the past I've just done texture, wash, and a bit of drybrushing. For these Nighthaunt I'm adding some autumn leaves on everybody, plus flower-tufts on heroes & unit champions.

Finally got past the base coating of my Rangers now onto high lighting and washing them. I am so damned glad now I didn't try to batch paint them at the same time as my Guardians.
Nuln oil is truly a gift from the E...I uhh I mean Asuryan himself. My Autarch is slowly getting there too, he and his extra bits are on my desk, too and I'd just grab them ever so often to paint them while my Rangers are drying or when I feel like it. I have another Autarch with swooping hawk wings who I'm tempted to give a Fusion gun and Sun Spear too as that seems like a pretty powerful combination. Then one day I'll have to buy some Swooping Hawkes to support him, but they're still Fail Cast so, not now.

Looking good, CB!
Today I mostly finished my Rangers! I'm pretty happy how they turned out. Just gotta base them and finish up their faces (made the mistake of giving them mostly unhelmeted heads, but the ones with helmets look much better than the bare-headed ones) Also, almost finished my Autarch. I'm not sure whether I want to begin my next squad of Guardians before basing my Rangers. I'd like to start them, but it might be a bit of a pain basing twenty models at the same time instead of ten. Hmmm...

House done! Next up, more House.
I also realised I have so much unfinished terrain. I had bought it all to make a village of sorts for both D&D and Warhammer/Frostgrave/Rangers of Shadowdeep...basically any skirmish game really.
The whole thing was done with craft paint and homemade wash.

Mostly based my Rangers. Also fixed up the bases of my old Guardians as they were a bit manky because I'd primed them with a Wraithbone spray can. Began base painting my new Guardians, and they are much more defined and easy to paint than the old ones. Much more fun painting them than the original kit so far.

Got the bases of my old Guardians, new Rangers and Autarch ready for dry brushing with Terminus Stone tomorrow. Also base painted most of my new Guardian squad, except for the skin colours and purples. The ones with helmets almost look table ready already. They're going to be much easier to pain and finish than the Rangers and the old Guardians. Then onto my six Shining Spears!

Finished basing my Rangers and old Guardian squad, I think; for now, they're pretty much finished or "table ready." and pretty happy how they turned out; one day, I'll finish their faces and gems and such. Then I finished the base painting and then began highlighting the new Guardians and enjoyed it a lot. I'm doing as a theme for the Eldar (besides the bases) Is that the light source on all of them is coming from the left, which is a high lighting technique I'm slowly getting better at using my desk lamp as a rough reference. Fun times.

A bit more progress on my Guardians; the new kit is a joy to paint. Also been getting into One Page Rules, and I decided to become a Patron! I tested out the Point Calculator or character/unit creation kit to create Attelus Kaltos, and it's pretty fun. He's expensive, but it's pretty cool to have stats so the mini I got from Hero Forge and painted can play in a game in the future.

Working on a medium tank ARV from Mortian, I magnetised all the recovery gear so i can pull it off and stick a gun tank turret in and have a normal tank too. And some Thudd gun proxies I made up myself from some different parts including a victoria miniatures gun carriage and a zinge industry rocket pod.
Don't be surprised if you see those same MLRS mounted on a, ah 'civillian utility vehicle' one day.

Mostly finished basing my Guardians and assembled my first three Shining Spears, then primed them; probably going to go with the classic colours; I primed them in white. I found the perfect helmetless head in the Shining Spear kit for my 2nd Autarch with Swooping Hawk wings as he has the vent-like things on his face mask, so it looks like a Howling Banshee mask, and the face also looks damn cool.

Put together my first model from Forgeworld, a 30k Apothecary. Very pleased with it tbh, after hearing a lot of horror stories, it actually went together very easily, so much so that I took the plunge and bought another, the painfully expensive Captain Raldoron. £55 for a regular sized marine seems insane to me and I'm still on the fence as to whether I should, but he will be the core of my 30k army so hopefully it makes sense!
Also finished putting chain bayonets and accessories on my 10 MkIV marines, to get mixed in amongst my beakies (who have a variety of MkIV helmets and shoulder pads amongst them to look like a rag tag bunch). They don't quite naturally fit, but it's close enough that it looks fine. Mounted the MkIV's on 3mm cork to make them the same height as the VI's and it looks pretty good. Now I just have to paint 30 tactical and 10 support marines, which should be fun I guess?

In the last two weeks - ending yesterday - I have completed painting and basing (and playing multiple games of Alpha Strike with them!) 12 of the new sculpts of BattleTech minis in an entirely new paint-scheme.
Utterly distinct from my existing collection of 48 minis evenly divided into 4 different camouflage schemes, I intend to add future miniatures in the snazzy new completely non-camouflage scheme for my main Inner Sphere force until I become sick of doing so! They are teal bodies with arms halved in yellow and purple, known as the Teal Terrors. Fear them.
Additionally: I have primed 10 Clan mechs and two units of Battle Armor, to join 2 other Clan mechs received as bonus minis in one of the aforementioned old starter sets I bought cheap, for ANOTHER new paint-scheme. I can't decide which Clan I like the best, so have decided to create my own which I currently refer to as Clan Smoke House BBQ.
(All of the new BattleTech purchases - and about 4 or 5 future lance-packs - was/is made possible by recycling a pile of unused 40K minis and bits into cold, hard cash. So I have that going for me, which is nice.)

Last day of GenCon.
I plan to;
1) play demo games in search of New boardgames the group back home might enjoy.
2) see just how much $ I can part with/get home with - two completely opposite objectives.... we'll know in a few hours wich way it went.
So that went well.
Found 3 games.
1 card game about hunting Unicorns, 1 worker placement/resource game of Hurricane survival, 1 game of space exploration/conquest.
The unicorn game was cheap & the other two won't be out of Kickstarter until next year....
Add in another $200 worth of stuff (mostly BattleTech).....
Even including travel/hotel/food? This was a fairly cheap Gencon.

Finished base painting my Shroud Runners, I accidentally painted one of their cloaks with Corax White instead of Wraithbone (as they're fighting on their Craftworld) I have no idea how I managed that, but it turned out a good thing as it was much easier to paint the Wraithbone layer on top than just on a black primer which is...strange. Corax White base paint covers quite nicely, actually. Lesson learned I suppose lol
