Finished base painting and putting washes on my Shroud Runners (I'm only doing the pilots, planning on doing the Jet Bikes after) and started my favourite aspect of painting, high lighting, pretty happy with how they're looking so far. I'm also working with one of my favourite paints, Warp Stone Glow.

Not too much today, helping my dad clean stuff up. I began to paint the concept jet bike for my Shade Runners. I also finally got around to dotting the "eyes" (eh? Ya get it, ya get it? Sorry lol) of the bare heads of my Rangers, Guardian Defenders, the Shade Runner pilots and the healer of my Corsairs who I'd frigged up the eyes of a while back. It went well, actually, the XS GW paintbrush is very handy for that task.

Set up new configuration for slicer which reduced warping. Good good. Project castle progressing. Too bad next 2 weeks far from printer :(

That looks awesome CB! Can't believe how well that very old mini stands up. I've still got one to do as part of the Fast Attack group I'm onto, after my Shroud Runners then Guardian Jetbikes.

Back OT I completed the 1st Shroud Runner bike I used as a test model, and now onto the other two. Base painted them, then did the washes, next is high lights. They're surprisingly quick and easy to paint. Also fixed up the hair a bit of my Hero Forge Attelus Kaltos. Been making units with the One Page Rules creation, as the app is out of date I have to use my maths addled mind to try make them and it hurt my head lol

Finally cutting new foam trays to hold my Cities of Sigmar/ WHFB Dogs-of-War army.

It's been on the to-do list for literally years.
But while I've got them pulled them out for use in an Escalation League atm.... I figured there's no better time than now to get this done.

Doing some simple terrain-craft tasks with the kids. Painting sand on terrain bases and rolling little clay balls that will be turned into cacti.

Finished my Shroud Runner squad which I have photos of might share them later, not very good photos, mind you. Now I'm onto assembling my Windriders, finished building two out of six. Maybe I'd like to buy another squad (or squadron?) of Shroud Runners to act in cohesion with my two squads of Shining Spears, to have them and the Shroud Runners swing around on each flank while my main force pushes into the centre with a firebase behind as support (with Rangers, Guardian Defenders etc) as a distraction.

Having entered the Kill Team portion of my backlog, the schedule calls for assembling and priming of Octarius terrain.

Finished assembling my Windriders then instead of priming them decided to assemble my Vyper which took me ages to find the sprues for and a few other parts I'd taken off. Like my 1st Wraithlord I have no idea how I managed to get my hands on my Vyper and I looked at the sprues I realised I have no idea what the frig I'm doing or If I even have all the necessary parts lol need an instruction manual if any one knows where I can find one online please tell me. That'd be so cool.

Continuing to repack my games room after the carpet was replaced due to water damage from a storm earlier this year. Getting down to odds and ends now.

Uhh, finally got my magnet kit from the Magnet Baron so began magnetising my Autarch from the Eldritch Omens box. Too bad the magnets aren't quite small enough. Small enough for Space Marines, but not for spindly Eldar arms, but I managed to work around that. Already halfway through the smallest magnets, though and really don't want to wait weeks and weeks for more so might order more from Gap games or something.

Did more work on the two gift box plasma regulator terrain.

FLGS to assemble MCP, paint Voodoo from MCP and try and finish my magnetized resin terminator weapons for my cataphractii.

Now begins the tedious task of putting all the mech sheets I printed earlier into page protectors....
This'll take awhile.

Thankfully it's a hobby task that should only need to be done once.

Primed my Windriders and would've base coated them, but I couldn't find one of them for most of the day; I managed to find him just before, though. So instead I began a conversion inspired by the Custodes Shield Captain with jetbike from the YT channel Table Top Tactics where he's standing on the base with the jetbike instead of riding on it. Mine is an Autarch lunging off his jetbike to join the foray with his power sword or whatever (he's going to be magnetised both onto the base and his weaponry) I'm using the Autarch with swooping hawk wings body or can use it. I took some photos of what I've done so far and might post them tomorrow. On a larger oblong base, I used cardboard to make debris that rises behind the Autarch (I measured it to make sure it is the size of the base of the regular Skyrunner Autarch so can be measured from if I use it to play a game) Then covered it in astrogranite and astrogranite debris. Very happy with how it looks so far.

Bought a new lightbox and I'm halfway finished painting some chaos slaanesh cultists. It's grindy right now

Finished, mostly, my Windrider pilots damned gems. I'll get around to finishing them on my army one day. I find it crazy that so many people paint gems on all the bumps and such on their Eldar. Also primed my new display base for my Autarch and his normal base too!

Didn't do too much hobby stuff as I had to help my dad a lot with more stuff, but I did manage to finish two of the jet bikes for my Windriders and then base-painted the remaining 4. I also fixed up my new scenery base as there were many places where the cardboard can be seen, primed it with Wraithbone again then slathered it with Seraphim Sepia as well as my Autarch's normal base. Might post photos tomorrow.

Edit: Looking at the photos the bases look a bit like weetbix lol, also decided there's going to be a Chaos Space Marine being decapitated by the Autarch which he did as he was dropping to the ground. As the themes of my Eldar bases are during their desperate fight on their craftworld against a huge Emperor's Children invasion the Chaos Marine will likely be one of them. Already begun assembling the Chaos Marine and testing him on the base and it works better than I thought it would.

Printing out the record sheets for each of the Clan battlemechs I own (only the "Prime" versions though)

I finished painting all six of my jetbikes and then tested magnetising one of them. It was a bit awkward and I got a lot of super glue on my fingers, but it turned out well. Need a total of twenty-four for these six so that'll have to go on the back burner until I get more magnets which hopefully will arrive soon.

Finally finished putting all the BattleTech sheets, Light - Assault, + Clans, in page protectors. Around 300 pages all told.
Now I need some 3ring binders....

Put magnets in the rest of the jetbikes ready for when I get the rest to magnetize the weapons. I also dry brushed the display base for my autarch then green stuffed the blood flowing from the Chaos Marine's neck as it's falling from its neck. Been the first time I've used green stuff in ages but it wasn't too hard at all. Just trying to decide what kind of weapons the Chaos Marine will be wielding that'll mark him out a champion but not use up too much space. Now I've gotta wait for magnets for the Autarch.

Base painted and put washes on my 1st Wraithlord; it feels good as it's been sitting around just primed for months, and the heavy weapons platform from my new guardian defenders. Also primed my Autarch, which I'm using for my diorama. Uhh, and fixed up some stuff as well. Didn't do as much as I wanted as I'm not feeling well. Assembling and even painting the Wraithlords is more fun than I thought it'd be especially because I've got better glue. They're just so poseable.

Mostly finished painting my 1st Wraithlord, then mostly finished assembling my 2nd one. I also primed their bases with Wraithbone and did a few other odd hobby things. I was going to do my Vyper but realised I had no idea where its base is and its canopy, will try to find it sometime soonish.

Put together Dystopian Wars Commonwealth cruisers # 14 to 18 before work today.

My magnets from Gap Games arrived today so I started to magnetise my Autarch for the diorama, did a better job than my last one. Also began magnetising my Windrider jetbikes which isn't going so well. Also dropped my Exacto knife into my thigh and it stung like a frig. I managed to get it bandaged and now its a dull ache. Smooth.

Learned how to play Marvel Crisis Protocol at the shop this evening.
Pretty good game. It definitely warrants me looking into.
1st step? Finding out what all characters they've made to date.

I've been sitting on the HH box since it came out. I didn't want to start this project without the extra bitz needed to get it built in short order.

Managed to finish magnetise the weaponry of my Jetbikes then began to prime my 2nd Wraithlord but it fell off its stick and its sword flew off somewhere so I stopped.

Almost finished my 2nd Wraithlord. I didn't find the sword hand so I just grabbed it from the sprue of the 3rd Wraithlord as I plan to make that one magnetised but mostly want him to be ranged. I also painted up a couple of heavy weapons platforms and drilled some heavy weapons to share them across my different units. I have too many to magnetise them all.

Built a few 30k Marines.
Put a layer of white primer on a bunch of stuff for Battletech.

edit: And then I got to teach Battletech at the shop this evening after dinner. I wasn't expecting to actually game today.

I assembled and primed my War Walker. Again, I had no instructions but the Warhammer Instructions subreddit saved my arse.

Pretty much finished painting my War Walker and my four Windriders and Autarch arrived today so I began assembling them too. I'd finished my Fast Attack before once I'd done my Vyper so my new Windriders are next to get finished. Three to allow me to make a 9-man squad and a 4th for my Autarch diorama. Once they're done, it's onto my Dark Reapers the 1st aspect warriors I'll be working on since my Shining Spears.

Made a follower using parts from FF warriors and peasants.

Finished assembling my jetbikes and bikers then magnetising the bikes and weaponry. Then I primed them, but I frigged up one of the bikes and it went all bubbly on the circular bit on the top of the bike. I scraped it off and primed it again, but it still looked bad, I hope to get the hole filled with some brush applicable black primer tomorrow :/

Finished my three new Windriders and most of the Jetbike for my Autarch's diorama. Then I began assembling my Dark Reapers, they're nice minis, again, very mono pose, but that's no surprise it's modern-day GW. Just giving them helmeted heads as I can't be bothered much with them, in all honesty. They aren't terribly good on the table top from what I've heard and looking at their new rules I can see why.

Oww, I didn't do much today, almost finished assembling my Dark Reapers but I accidentally dropped my exacto knife and my stupid reflexes made me try to catch it and it embedded in my hand, my right hand, of course. Blood everywhere, but I stopped the bleeding and it's better now. So no more 40k for a while, just got my skin tone paints and my fine detail brush today too.

Assembling some incursors.... I had forgotten what a time sink cleaning and assembly is...

My hand is much better now, so I finished assembling my Dark Reapers (well, mostly as I hadn't stuck on the Exarch's gun as I hadn't decided which one I want to give him, don't know if I can be bothered magnetising or not, will have to wait when I finally get my new magnets from the Magnet Baron) and primed then. I then practised painting the skin with my new Scale 75 paint set. I gave the DR exarch a bare head to practise, tried it, frigged it up a bit, but decided to try it on another mini. A Hero Forge mini I got ages back of an NPC in my Rogue Trader campaign Inquisitor Azakir Halgriv of the Ordo Xenos and I did...okay. Better than my 1st try using the GW wash method, the face lacked so much detail there was nowhere the wash could settle. Will keep on practising though!

Began painting my Dark Reapers but wasn't feeling well and didn't have my heart in it, in all honesty. I did do a bit more work on Azakir's face, glazing over his recess shading with a lighter paint and he looks 10x better now. His mouth still looks weird, though. The lips are almost non-existent on the mini so I just can't get it quite right lol

I'm continuing with my converting up some old Spearmen to act as my Cothique Sea Guard for my High Elf Chrace army.

Going to attempt pinning the arms on a metal Kryomek warrior alien without botching the job. I've been using a pin vice, which is tough going on the alloy these were cast in. Think I might need to get some sort of mini power drill. But great miniature designs on some of these old minis, so it's worth it.

Painted the armor on my mega-armored Warboss this evening.

And then once I'd finished? I decided that it needs to be a brighter metallic red instead of the Blood Angels contrast I used.

Any guess what my next game related purchase tomorrow will be?

Spent the whole day playing Quest '95 with 3 friends. One of the longest Dungeon Crawls we've had, with our Barbarian and Elf Ranger Mage acting as an incompetent duo who couldn't hit a thing.

We think the Elf failed his Blood of Aenarion spell with a natural 1 20 out of 23 times. It was up to me, the Pit Fighter, and a Wizard (mostly in close combat) to do the real work.

Hardest part was getting jumped by 4 Chaos Warriors whilst on a precarious bridge. That was a tough fight. Funniest fight was getting jumped by a bunch of Ghouls on the same bridge on the way back; they all killed themselves by falling into the pits below!

Finished those additional Eldar weapons for War Walkers, Wave Serpents, and weapons platforms. Also completed the bases on the old Eschers, now to paint the rest of the models.

End of turn 4, with the demons holding decisive advantages in VP, board control, & models/units left, the Nightlords were forced to concede.
(There was simply no way for them to recover in just one more turn)

My W Artel Warp Spider proxies and the Eldar heads arrived today, and daamn the level of detail is amazing and they're a joy to assemble, even if they're monopose. I was a bit, sceptical because they're resin and my interaction with resin has been failcast, but now I see how well resin minis can be. Now I want a 3D printer more. I assembled them mostly. Still got the "Exarch" and a few other heads, as I'm not sure if I want to put a few of the helmetless heads on them.

Glued up 2nd floor. Now to put greenstuff to holes, both unintended and intended(to ensure no resin is left inside)

That looks very cool Tneva! Not much today, stuck my awesome Warp Spider proxies onto bases. I used...32 mil bases as the Exarch's pose is way too wide for 28 mil bases. So not 40k legal but Im hoping if new Warp Spiders are made by GW (finally) I'm hoping their bases are 32 mm and I'm hoping to use them more for One Page Rules Grimdark Future, anyway.

I find it funny that one of the normal Aspect Warriors has the biggest tactical rock usually the bigger the tactical rock, the more badass/senior the character lol.

Building another 15 Fleshhounds + a Herald of Khorne(on foot) that I got for a really good price the other day.

Inspired by buying Space Station Zero I finally began to assemble my Black Stone Fortress minis. Mostly the antagonistic ones the not man of iron PC included, the whole concept around him as a character is amazing, I think.

Finished building Black Cat (Marvel Crisis Protocol). Cleaned mold lines (and broke two models :-\ ) for the Hozumi part of the Busido starter set.

Been working on a custom Farsight. Not a fan of the flimsy Finecast model so bought a 3d- printed upgrade set for the standard Commander. Built up his base a good bit to make him more imposing, and the result is pretty decent.



Both the other Commanders are fully magnetised, but I kept Farsight just as-is. A few details here and there to do, and I also considered making a Green Stuff ribbon for his blade as the original has, but it the final product was far too delicate to be worth the fuss.

The Dawn Blade is also rather nice, I used Alclad to get a nice shiny finish. I won't get the full Alclad effect due to the layers from the 3D printing, but on a proper smooth surface you can pretty much have a full mirror effect.

Going to try and watch some Rampage Eternal Cathedral builds, as I was given a box by a friend who is trying to reduce his pile of the unpainted.

I built a set of the Hernkyn for a friend yesterday. Let nobody tell you they cannot be dynamic!

The one thing I will suggest to people is to make sure that you pin or add a dollop of superglue or something to support the weight as they're drying. They'll sag otherwise.

I finally cut proper foam trays for my Khorne demons.
Well, most of them anyways. I need deeper foam for a couple of the larger pieces.

Terrible insomnia at the moment so I've been busy building my first 10 Votanni.

Lovely kit I have to say, very straightforward to put together these basic troops. I really like the facial details. I had originally planned to have them all wearing helmets but the depth of the faces is excellent. Will post photos soon.

A crap ton of terrain from Gap Games and Mighty Ape. Necromunda and Mantic Games stuff which will allow me to set up a crap ton in the future.

Painting and building the never ending stream of mantic ratmen. Down to the final 25, a tank, 2 bikes and 2 big guys.

Also built some Escher and Goliath conversions, that are now base coated.

Mostly finished the Negavolt Cultists from the Blackstone Fortress box and tested a colour scheme for the mutants thingies from a 1st edition Deadzone box my friend gave me a about a year back. Decided they'd make good antagonists for Space Station Zero.

Well I looked online at some of the unboxing of the Eternal Cathedral...looks like a massive amount of cutting required to get out all the little bits.

Finishing the base for Red Guardian for MCP.

Using inks, sharpies and paints to color and edge darken the b&w foam core terrain I made in my last photo in this thread. Looks much better, I think.

Slowly been painting a special hero for a Kings of War tournament.

Bit more work done on Shadowsun, used the leftover head to make a quick change to my custom Fireblade.

Finished three escher conversioo. Working on two goliath juves. Playing hooky from my remaining mantic verrmyn still waiting to be assembled and painted.

Painting up a bit more of a retinue for the interesting little skirmish game "the Baron's War" which I'm having another run at this weekend

I've been assembling some of my Mantic terrain. It's a bit of a task now. The tips of my thumbs are calloused to the days, lol.

I also assembled and primed a mini to represent Marcel Torris from Secret War to be a part of my Space Station Zero crew. It was pretty easy; I had a new guardsman box lying around and just gave him a meltagun, as it became his signature weapon after Secret War and one of the new heads which surprisingly suited him. It has a scar running down his eye, but that could be from the attack that made him need to get his eye replaced by an augmentic.

Also finally painted up one of the generatorium thingies from the Nachmund box, pretty happy with how it turned out, also been testing colour schemes for my Mantic terrain.

Have been cutting out parts of the Rampart Eternal Cathedral...with all that details there are dozens on injection points on each pillar.

I forgot to update yesterday, so I practically finished Marcel Torris last night. I'm quite happy with how he turned out. GW minis are so much easier to paint than Hero Forge ones. I also fixed my 3rd Attelus HF mini's sheath with a tiny teeny bit of green stuff as I accidentally broke it while cutting the bumps off the model. I also assembled some more terrain. Today I began painting a test mini for the Traitor Guardsmen from Black Stone Fortress, as well as starting to base Torris and the rest of my Space Station Zero crew, excluding Attelus. I just discovered that putting Seraphim Sepia on silver makes it look pretty rusted, so that was cool.

Continued cutting out parts of the Rampart Eternal Cathedral...at this rate it is going to take a week to get them all out and sanded.

My new can of Grey Seer primer arrived today so I've been priming minis and terrain like there was no tomorrow as well as a few other things such as edge highlighting Torris (which I was hesitant to do, but he turned out not bad) and more work on my Traitor Guardsmen.

Finally finished cutting out parts of the Rampart Eternal Cathedral...only a few delicate parts are still on one sprue after I found cutting them off broke them on similar sprues.

Going to have a small Drukhari vs Votann game this afternoon.

The goal is to capture a few of the beared ones, drag them back to the labs, & see what makes them tick.

I did quite a bit today, almost finished my mutants from the Deadzone box and worked on the terrain is taking...a while so I'm hoping that I can find a way to streamline the process.

Here's a photo of my six-man/woman Inquisition team to be stranded on Space Station Zero. From left to right it's Azakir Halgriv, Rhia Venris, Attelus Kaltos, Karmen Kons and Marcel Torris. The first two are characters from my Dark Heresy/Rogue Trader campaign, yet to appear in the Secret War continuity (and maybe they never will be due to not being born during the current story lol)

Didn't do as much as I liked, but I finished the ruins behind Attelus and the others and began on a bit of cover stuff. I did a bit more work on the Deadzone mutants and a couple of other things. So, yeah.

Base coated a box of Tartaros Terminators & then applied their spray of Leadbelcher this evening.
Assembly to commence Sunday.

A bunch more work on my Mantic terrain a crumbling building. I ran out of my Seraphim Sephia old bottle and onto a new one. I remember the YouTuber Adam from Tabletop Minions said the new formula wasn't as good for grimming up minis now and boy was he right lol

Built an Orc Megaboss, Shaman, and 10 Orc Megabrutes. Fun!

Should probably be gluing the arms and heads on my Guardians.

More work on Mantic terrain. Another building that I used Agrax earthshade on instead of Seraphim Sepia and it works quite well almost finished dry brushing.

Finished painting my last ruined Mantic building and a few other things so began to create another. It's easily the largest one yet and assembling it was...frustrating, a couple of times it fell apart, but I kept on with it and now it's done, hoping to prime it soon when my next can of Grey Seer arrives. Maan my hands ache too lol

I stupidly dropped a Mantic building I'd built on the floor so had to spend a while building it back up. I then took the plunge and finally began painting one of my W Artel Warp Spiders as a test. She's coming out not too bad, primed them with Mephiston Red which is turning out okay.

Refreshing my memory of (current) Kill Team rules.

Cleaned mold lines on Darkstar and Crimson Dynamo for MCP, and spent some time going over the Cygnar MKIV Preview battle box, cleaning printing artifacts, and preparing the pieces for gluing/magnet installation.

I finished my test mini for my W Artel Warp Spiders. I'm happy with how she turned out, she was a joy to paint. She was detailed but not too detailed. Makes me want to buy more W Artel minis.

Doing up the bases for the last few bits and pieces for my Kings of War night stalkers.

Always harder than one thinks to match colours when some of them are mixed paints, so best to do as many at the same time as possible.

Did a bit, a lot of priming and began painting ten of twenty Mantic Plague zombies, using washes and contrast paints which is speeding up the process quite a bit. I'm beginning to warm up to contrast paints a bit more.

He earned his paint the other night by killing two Tau & dishing out enough splash damage to account for a 3rd (if it were all applied to one model....)

Working on an escher gang. 3 wips, 7 built.

Have the kits to complete my necromunda 'murderbot' gang but they're still on sprue.

After that it's 6 doggos from the DnD 'dungeons and doggos' set - because like us, it had a greyhound. This is very much a 'fun' project. At some point I intend to get the other 2 sets and have thr full, erm, pack?

I have 2 'extreme' sculpts from privateer press (juggernaut and destroyer) that I have disassembled and stripped. I'm gonna do these again.

And then the big 'un.

1.5 into the darks - terrain, 2 x kroot warbands,1 x naval armsmen kill team, 2 x krieg kill teamd and 2 x ork kommando kill teams. And yes I'll probably be buying the kasrkin 'into the dark' set because I've waited 20 years for new models and extra terrain is always handy!

I mostly finished my zombies and assembled another Mantic Sci-Fi ruined building. I also began practising the layering/glazing skin technique taught by Zumikito Miniatures in one of his videos. Frigged it up the last time I tried, but this time seems to be doing it better. YEY.

I mostly finished my 2nd W Artel Warp Spider, I had him helmetless to practise the layering/glazing of his skin, and he turned out pretty okay. I re-watched the video and saw what I was doing wrong, so I managed to make it better than before. Then on a whim, I began on an old Hero Forge mini of Anargrin and...I'm really happy with him. It's a version of him in his youth wearing black leather armour, which was quite detailed, so it was an excellent practice for edge high lighting, might post pics soon. Then began working on the third Warp Spider.

Painting daemons so they would be at least battle ready next weekend's tournament. Tzeentch elements got pretty well so doing khorne elements now.

Cleaned and assembled the four Winter Guard models for Marvel: Crisis Protocol.

Glued a bunch of skulls to the bases of my Bloodcrusher & Fleshhound unit champions.

I bought a whole bunch of old-school Nuln Oil (it was the gloss version which worked out well, actually) and other washes yesterday as we'd gone to a nearby city. So I brushed up on my Necromunda tiles and one of my Mantic buildings. Needless to say, it used a lot of wash, but they look good.

Down to my last 10 models to paint, death rattle skeletons. Glad to be getting back to in control of the projects instead of dreading them.

Almost finished painting my remaining three Artel W Warp Spiders. Batch painting them, I'm glad I finished the 1st three so I didn't have to batch paint all six. Was hoping to finish them, but just couldn't make it. Will finish them tomorrow!

Finally finished painting the Into the Dark walls and caps. Still need to finish the Ancient Apparatus sprue; so far that stuff is just primed.

Practically finished my W Artel Warp Spiders. I'm quite happy with them. I began basing them and it seems I might not need to dry brush them as the new Seraphim Sepia formula sinks into the recesses enough.

I also finally assembled my old 2nd generation Failcast Lelith Hesperax mini I ordered off eBay a month or so ago, and...she is a really nice mini. Even nicer than I thought, whoever sculpted her knocked it out of the park, I think.

Got bored with my escher. Put them aside for the moment.

Doing the terrain for "into the dark'. Thinking of getting my necromunda terrain and doing a repaint so that I have a similar/consistent scheme for all of it.

I have double-sized kill teams for kroot, krieg and ork kommandos along with a single-sized kill team of navy breachers. They're next.

My twenty-robot Anvil minis arrived today and I assembled them. They are very nicely detailed resin, their proportions are...strange. Only three heads tall, which is alright for robot minis but makes me hesitant to buy human minis from them in the future. But the robots are perfect for my Space Station Zero campaign. I primed one with leadbelcher spray and tried to paint over it with Ultramarines Blue contrast paint, which...didn't look good, so painted it with leadbelcher again and went over it with Drakenhof Nightshade, which looked better.

Primed some fantasy models.

I have been painting battletech all day, it’s been fun. And different as I normally don’t do much mech stuff at all.

But my fingers hurt, so tomorrow we are building mordheim warbands.

And the very start to a new undead army for fantasy.

Had a run at Kill Team, seen it but never played before. was donated some Necrons as my opponent had worked out some factions in advance to save me digging through my far too small collection of 40k stuff

one win, one defeat, have to say its not a bad little game and the way they have cover working is nice, avoiding the whole "-1 to hit!" stuff that can be troublesome on a d6 system

enjoyed it, may dig my Tyranids out next time

Sadly, my Marksman's cloak was missing.

Some priming. I painted odd bits here and there. I also began on a metal animoo sword girl Reaper mini that'd been lying around primed for ages. I thought she'd be an excellent practice for skin and faces, and she turned out...okay. I painted her chin a bit too white, so at some angles, she looks chinless lol. Try to fix that tomorrow.

Painting Kasrkin

Built and Penitent Engine and a Necron Skorpekh Destroyer Lord. I love the Destroyer Lord but Ive been really enjoying building the SoB models from Imperium.

Finished assembling the Necron Kill Team and a Royal Warden. Got them all primed. Going to test out a scheme with the Warden.

I did a bit. Began (finally) on one of my GW Eisenhorn minis. The detail on his chest is indistinct, so I zenithal primed him, which was the first time I used it and allowed the detail to stand out. I also practically finished my robot Anvil minis. Primed them Leadbelcher and went over them with Drakenhof Nightshade then went over their eyes with red contrast paint and they look great. Makes me think of the Terminator. Especially the skull mask faces.

Finished my anvil robots and Mantic cyborgs for my eventual Space Station Zero campaign. Then I did more work on my 2nd Eisenhorn and...frigged up his face a bit. And now it's dawning now how little detail he has on his chest. I hoped putting on seraphim sepia would show it more but it only looked marginally better. Don't know if that's because of the Failcast or I because I primed him too close earlier. So, sadness :(

Tested some Warcolour antithesis paints.

A bit more progress on Eisenhorn, he's...challenging. I fixed his face up a bit more and he looks okay. I've been using a lot of wet blending to get the brown on his cloak and the maroon on the insides of his cloaks. I think it would've been better to paint his unassembled, in all honesty. Now! Here's my young Anargrin from the short story The Angaran Chronicles: An Ulterior Motive, which is set during their medieval age. I'm quite happy with him, just think I gotta more subtly build down to the darker parts of his face. His left eye looks weird, but seems fine most of the time, hmm.

Just finally took the plunge and played my 1st two scenarios of Space Station Zero today. Challenges 1 and 3, it was fun. The 1st was a little disappointing as I rolled collapsing floor and poison gas as I was hoping for some combat. Almost all of my squad fell through the floor except for Torris. The 2nd game was much more fun as we had some combat against starving mutants which I used Mantic zombies for. Attelus Kaltos was MVP for that game as he didn't just slaughter three of the six mutants single-handed, but also managed to pass three out of five intelligence challenge dice (needing 8+ on 12-sided dice) to disarm the generator from overloading. Here are some pics.

Slowly but surely making progress on the Necron Kill Team.

Today - and every day since Monday last week - I have been reading the full rules for Star Wars Legion. They are an explanation of the basic game mechanics, followed by an alphabetized dictionary of game terms that are up-to-date prior to the release of the "Scum and Villainy" factions that began to drop this past summer. As I have no kits from those factions and am instead assembling Clone and Confederation of Independent Systems faction miniatures, I am fine.

Old news: I finished (for the moment) the newest plastic Battletech miniatures for my bespoke Inner Sphere force, about a month ago. I stopped at 24 miniatures (so six Lance packs) of the Catalyst Game Labs plastics. They have been great fun to paint as the sculpts are very nice updates with excellent detail that make painting very enjoyable. I am proud of the basing I have done for them, which includes tufts of "gamer grass" for the first time on any of my miniatures.

Newer news: I painted 10 Imperial Assault miniatures of the Rebel faction for a Star Grave crew. Not the greatest sculpts, but quite serviceable, and my schemes hew closely to the paint-schemes designed for those particular miniatures. On the paint-table I have 10 more, but of the Imperial faction.

Once I get the components of the Clone Wars Star Wars Legion starter-set constructed (to begin practicing the rules with friends) I will create a 3rd crew for Star Grave, using minis from the Scum and Villainy faction.

1) Continuing to kick around ideas for a D&D character. Game begins on the 18th, so I have some time before I need to have anything finalized.

2) Built & base coated 4 Sslyth for my Drukhari. Have I mentioned my dislike for fine cast?

Fully painted "Rokkit Boy" from my Ork Commando KT squad.

Last time we played KT (about a month ago) this ork went on a killing spree. Every turn of the game he killed a Tau, some times also damaging others.
There's the running (partial) joke that my minis have to "earn thier paint".

Having a hectic week of getting my Turnip28 army and terrain up to standard for a convention display/demo.

Currently assembling a resin-printed Hangman's tree https://www.printablescenery.com/product/hangmans-tree/ but with hanging corpses from Harvest of War https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/harvestofwar/harvest-of-war because the original ones were unsafe to print in resin due to bad topology.

I had my first game of Assassinorum: Execution Force in months. It was fun, a close one too. I used my Attelus mini in lieu of the Callidus Assassin. I I lost my Vindcare Assassin to a Chaos Marine in the Ritual room and things didn't go too well after that. But I managed to get through it with some tactics and lucky rolls. Then I had Attelus attack the Sorcerer. He missed his first attack which I re-rolled and managed to take off a wound. I then had Attelus lunge away with his free sprint after a melee attack which allowed him to fire his "auto pistol" and he managed to take off another wound with one six of 2d6 (which is sorta a loophole I found by playing the game for awhile now) Then the Eversor Assassin managed to finish off the Sorcerer. It was the 14th turn so if I was unlucky enough to draw the card to push the counter one space it would mean I lost. The Eversor had run out of Frezon tokens so if his attack had failed I would've had to use his self destruct. It was close lol

Quite a bit of priming, mostly my new Hero Forge minis I had 3d printed by these people in Auckland in black.

I also primed my resin Lelith and another 3d printed mini larger scale D&D samurai lady I got from those same people (she's a really, really lovely mini) Mechanicum standard grey; I plan to try out a new way of painting like colourless pale skin by building up layers from grey as the shade both minis show a lot of skin, so there's a lot to work with. I plan on practising with the D&D mini before working on the much rarer and more expensive Lelith. It will be interesting. Has anyone done something similar?

Anyway, wish me luck!

Painting 28mm Brits for bolt action

Xenithal highlighted my samurai chick mini with grey seer primer and began painting her properly. I'm pretty happy with how she looks, actually, and she's damn fun to paint. The colourless skin experiment worked out quite well!

Ordered new Greenstuff & Milliput, and did a rough sketch for what i want to sculpt as a head for my WIP floaty Chaos Knight

Back on topic. Uhh a bit, began working on some of my new Hero Forge minis a new one of Anargrin, and one of the human-form of the werewolf Emilia and Wilom Anargrin's Hunter-apprentice from my novel series the Angaran Chronicles. Practising skin, mostly I hope to one day get all five of my five-man band done for the TT Skirmish game I was making a while back.

Also, more work on my Samurai chick mini.

A bit more painting on my new Anargrin and a few others of my main character five-man band. Emilia in human form and Hunter-apprentice Wilom. As well as a little bit on my Samurai chick D&D mini. All are still WIPs, but I'm very happy with Anargrin so far!

Building a couple of Deffcoptas.

More work on Anargrin, Emilia and Wilom. I'm very happy with how they're turning out. I realised as I was working on him, Wilom was my late mother's favourite character when she read my novel The Angaran Chronicles: The Underside (he was the one I least expected, lol). So, I'm trying to do a better job on him than I intended beforehand.

With the new Ogor book, I repainted the skin of my ogors so they would be compatible with the most recent ones I painted. Just finished re painting 40 ogors. 24 bulls, 4 iron guts, 4 lead belchers, 4 thunder tusks, 2 cannons, a frost lord, a tyrant, and a pair of butcher/slaughtermaster. Here goes to see if my old Ogor Mawtribe force could ever be viable again.

Building & Orkifying Abbadon.

My Squig Boss ate him in our Crusade game this evening.
His armor is going to become a shiny new* suite of Mega armor for the 2iC boss of the 2nd detachment.

*well, as shiny & new as a suite of armor can be after it's previous bearer has been blasted by rokkit/KMB/scorcha fire, rammed by a tank, beaten/stabbed/slashed/clubbed, & then gnawed on by a giant squig until they died in it.... And then crudely painted Redder.

Cleaning my hobby room

Quite a bit more progress on my Angaran Chronicles minis and a few odd things here and there. Mostly finished Emilia in werewolf form, she was pretty easy painted her brown and then dry-brushed her with terminus stone which looked quite good. Better than I anticipated, trying to make her have a theme with the blonde haired Emilia when in human form.

Finished priming my zone mortalis 32mm bases and the scarabs which arrived from ebay, both with leadbelcher. Put wash on them and dry brushed the bases. Maybe a few other things, but can't remember.

Thinking about the hobby things I should be doing once I recover from my turkey coma.....

Finished the scarabs that I primed a few days ago and almost finished my new Hero Forge version of Marcel Torris from Secret War, he's far better than the version I converted from the Imperial Guardsman box set.

A bit more work on my Darrance from Secret War mini as well, due to him being resin so nicely detailed, so edge highlighting his armoured bodyglove was quite fun.

My mini of Jelcine from The Angaran Chronicles arrived today (her and a mini of the villain of the 1st novel Kalthasin, too) So I began painting her today as I finally was able to paint all five of my main characters. Here are some photos.

From left to right it's Jelcine, Emilia (also in werewolf form), Anargrin, Raleas and Emilia. They're painted but not quite completed, I'm not too happy with Raleas as she looks too intense, which fits with her character but still lol. Looking forward to playing my TT Skirmish game with them sooner or later.

Not much; I went back to painting my Saderth Darrance from Secret War mini for my new Space Station Zero campaign. I finished him practically, so I began my new Karmen Kons mini and Adelana Helgen mini. Soon I'll have a 'current canon' Secret War crew to play with Zone Mortalis bases, so looking forward to that!

Today, hobby wise, is an odds & ends day:

•build several SoB Noviates & paint up at least one of them.
•paint up the Goff Rocker.
•finish converting Abbadon into a suite of Mega Armor.
•base coat 2 Necron Lokhust destroyers (1 normal, 1 heavy)
•finally get around to color coding the base rims of all my normal/heavy Lokhusts - red squad, blue squad, etc.
•finish a turret conversion for a grot tank
•fill out a character sheet for a D&D game starting Fri.
•properly update my Crusade sheets/roster
•pull out a handful of Tyranids & Necrons for an upcoming KT game.

Meet the Grot Vanquisher (mk.1)

I picked up a dubious quality resin cast "Deimos" rhino from a 2nd hand stall at a local con a month and a bit back.

It was only after I got home that I realised that it was missing a few bits (which is on me for not fully checking the contents before paying for it). I was fine with the price, and basic modelling skills are something I have, so shortfalls can be made up for.

No exhaust stacks, no rails, missing one running board and a piece of track.

So, since the Deimos was released as a way to capture the zeitgeist of nostalgia for the RT40k rhino kit, I figured I'd try to properly retro-fy this beast into something a little older looking.



New exhaust stacks. Not the hybrid angular/round of the actual one, more the half-round stacks of the original.

Running board replaced and textured with some spare mesh.

Track pieces replaced/covered over with plating.

HAND rails added to both sides (because they were supposed to be there, regardless of how often they would break off.

and lastly, the headlights. Now, I know the original rhino model only had twin double headlights (no turn signals) but I decided to add those anyway).



I don't play the current version of 40k (I'll get a 5th ed game in every few months), and the only marines I have left are my Grey Knights ... So I might just paint it up to suit them. When/if it ever stops raining long enough.

Uhh, back OT, I wasn't feeling well today, so I slept through quite a lot of it, but I still managed to paint Adelana and Karmen, almost finishing both of them. I'm slowly practising skin painting by layering and am happy with them both now, I frigged up Adelana's face a bit, but went back and fixed her. Then I began painting a new version of Attelus and I am very, very happy with him so far, especially his face. Really looking forward to having my new Space Station Zero crew finished!

Hmm, not too happy with Attelus. Now I look at him from another angle and closer to the light. His face is a bit lumpy, and I'm pretty sure it's because I didn't use fresh paint. It is a shame; I've been trying to fix it until now; I thought his face was one of the best I've painted so far. So, lesson learned will make sure to use new paint on faces from now on.

This evening after dinner I set about re-habbing a collection of Bone Reaper Cavalry I picked up crazy dirt cheap back in the summer.
Reattaching parts, fixing a few broken lances, trimming off sprue nubs (made harder as the previous owner just slapped unpainted models together....), & base coating anything not already (poorly) painted.

Fortunately the (poorly) painted stuff had no sprue nubs.

I’ve been working on a Skitarius Vanguard that I’m painting as I assemble (painting the major pieces separately then assembling it) and I’m finding it’s far more satisfying than assembling and then painting one. It might be that painting the inside of cloak was easier, or that I don’t have to deal with painting around the arms, but so far it’s been a blast.

Pondering which Archon Studio dragon would be best for my fantasy games.

Where I left off yesterday.

Did a bit more work on a few things, but mostly on a Hero Forge mini of my character in my cousin's P&P RPG campaign.

I just completed challenge four today for Space Station Zero and had quite a lot of fun. In it, there's a gas leak, so you have to get to a vent to turn it on to get the gas out, I also have some drones, which I used Necron Scarabs I bought off eBay as.

I had Attelus sprint forward to activate the vent as he's got fly and a movement of six. This made him draw the attention of the drones, which I designed him for as a "dodge tank." He performed very well as they came after him but couldn't hurt him; he even damaged one back with the CQC rules. As Torris Adelana and Karmen supported him with their guns. It allowed me to test out the cover rules as the scarabs were in cover quite a lot, and it seemed simple and easy to use. Was fun. None of my characters took any damage, even from the leak. I took the Edge "Natural Brutes", and I'm glad I did as it's helped a lot. I qualify it as them wearing protective gear (or, for Attelus, his enhancement and wraithbone skeleton) And being very experienced Throne Agents. I'm playing 25 by 25 instead of 22 by 30, so I've had to adapt a bit.

The Vampirella statue and another Attelus mini arrived today alongside the Samus Aran, Morrigan from Darksiders statues and the Faye Valentine mini I ordered a while back.

I began on Vampirella because I'm giving her to my dad for his birthday, and assembling her...hasn't been fun. The woman who 3d printed it for me warned me she'd have gaps, and boy, oh boy, she wasn't kidding. Wish I had some sprue goo or liquid green stuff. I then assembled Samus, and she was a breeze. Really loving her statue so far!

Most of the bitz o needed to rehab a bunch of 2e/3e era Deathguard arrived today.

So now I'm cleaning up bitz & completing models....

Finished my last figure of ww2 British for bolt action.

Glued a three rider unit of quar cavalry.

Opened my first of two 30-man Japanese infantry for bolt action as my axis force for the game.

First, I tried out my new airbrush (a wireless one), priming a couple of minis with airbrush primer. It was actually quite fun. I then began painting my Vampirella statue for my dad, and I am very happy with her so far!



If anyone is wondering why the band on her right arm is funny. I had to green stuff it as there was a big gap between the arm and shoulder. Then I accidentally got way too much super glue on when sticking it on, so I green stuffed over that, and my green stuff isn't good, lol

I practically finished Vampirella and am quite happy with her now. Had to green stuff the hell out of her base to fill the gaps, so hoping it'll dry by the morning. I've learned a lot while working on her.

I also primed some more minis, including my Faye Valentine; not sure how I'm going to replicate her colours, especially her gold clothing lol

Quite a bit, but most importantly, I gave my dad the Vampirella statue, and he was very happy with it. Now gotta do her base, which I primed and went over with Vallejo 'not nuln oil' wash.

But most of all been doing a crap ton of dry brushing of terrain, which I've been putting off for ages now. So it feels good to get that done even if it's the most basic way to paint terrain lol

A crap-ton of dry brushing of more terrain that I'd been neglecting to work on for months. I'm dry-brushing Necron Compound on my black primed terrain, and it actually looks pretty good. I also did quite a lot of work on my Faye Valentine, which I'm not too happy with, in all honesty, and the base for my dad's Vampirella.

I’ve went back to my Plague Marines that I painted a while ago and I’m redoing their backpacks, as well as adding just a titch more detail where I didn’t paint it on the first go through.

A lot of applying washes to terrain and dry brushing it. Experimenting with stuff, especially dunking smaller bits into my Vallejo pot of "not-Nuln Oil" wash, and it worked quite well once I wiped the excess with a paper towel off a few of them. It'll be very cool to finally play with terrain that's fully painted and everything.

A lot more work on a lot more terrain. Pretty boring, in all honesty, but getting through it slowly but surely.

Mostly finished the terrain that I had primed up to now. I managed to knock over my red wash and lose a lot, and the day before knocked over my Agrax Earthshade as well when moving my Vallejo Nuln oil.

Edit: Also painted hazard stripes on my Necromunda/Zone Mortalis tiles with masking tape. It was...interesting, not fun, but interesting lol

Took the plunge and finally primed the two-story building I built from Mantic parts. I was hesitant for a couple of reasons; I dislike priming a lot. Fear of frigging it up and that it was going to use a frig-ton of spray paint. With the building primed, I had an idea to play through a scenario where Attelus and company are defending the building by besieging by waves of mutants. robots and zombies, like that part where Leon, Luis and Ashley are besieged in Resident Evil 4. Using, maybe, the rules from Space Station Zero? It could be fun.

Did more work on my big mantic building. Essentially coating it in the Vallejo nuln oil and then wiping off the excess finished half of it so far.

I also did some photos for fun for the scenario idea, and this is what it might look like.

I made more progress on my big building today, finished putting washes on it, ready for dry brushing. I accidentally smeared too much wash on the building so on my dad's advice wiped off them with some methylated spirits, which made the building look much better. I want to make it pretty pristine as it hasn't been in any battles yet and might've been a base for my characters in something as so well maintained. Then I decided to try out making light sources with my new airbrush, and it turned out...okay, lol

















I also played a game of Space Station Zero, playing Challenge 13, which I should've seen as foreshadowing for how frustrating and boring the scenario turned out to be and also for how bad my luck was during it. I was going to make another battle report, but nahh lol. Vince Venturella, if you're somehow reading this, you're a frigging frigging evil genius or something lol. I couldn't think how crazy hard the scenario would've been for crews not wielding advanced weaponry (the drones had an armour of 8 which means any even rolls 6 or under are negated, and they also have a shield which reduces a hit to 0 each time its attacked) So the game was pretty much the epitome of a pillow fight, for the enemy lol.

Attelus got taken out by a very lucky critical hit by one of the drones, which he rolled a critical failure to protect himself from, so he took like 12 damage which was twice his full wounds lol. Luckily I rolled a 12 on the death roll, meaning he came out unscathed; he just didn't gain any exp from the scenario. Darrance was MVP as his energy melee weapon negated the drones' armour completely. I'm just glad I got some good loot, and Attelus didn't die.

Tonight I tried to set up my AK wet palette that I bought a while ago. First attempt I didn’t wet the top sheet, so it didn’t work. For my second attempt, I wetted both sides of the top sheet. I didn’t have the time to put paint on it tonight, but will try tomorrow morning.

Managed by the skin of my teeth to get through another two Challenges of Space Station Zero today. Challenges 14 and 15, and boy, the latter was a doozy that had to fight a landed starship of sorts. They lost both Darrance and Karmen in the scenario (luckily, they didn't die, but Karmen cannot participate in the following Challenge). The game's gotten much harder over the past few Challenges. Challenge 14 I played the place that had a poison gas that made the characters go mad and attack their friends if they failed a body check which your characters need to pass three of; luckily, my crew have the Natural Brutes Edge, so they gained two more dice for body checks, or else they'd have to pass with three even numbers on 4d12s which isn't good odds. I think many a crew would've been lost as insane wretches due to some poor rolls then and there lol. The game's harsh.

Primed the horde of Deathguard I've been working on.

Pulling together a few dedicated Kill Teams out of misc stuff - Tyranid Warriors/H.Gaunts, Necron Warriors/Deathmarks, Deathguard (I found I had 4 spare guys in the box - no Champion yet unless I find a 5th DG), and Tau Fire warriors/stealth suites.

Bit lost at the moment so I'm working on a simple Ulthwe Warwalker. Wasn't sure on the armament so I went the safe option of dual Shuriken cannons, with the option to build a second walker with different weapons.

I did more work on my big Mantic building, dry brushing it a lot. Then began painting my mini of Arken from my Angaran Chronicles series who I think I've stated for the TT Skirmish game. Using his mini to practice skin and began base painting a mini of Elandria from Secret War. Pretty happy with how Arken's turning out so far!

Magnetized a Tau stealth suit for burst cannon/fusion this afternoon & built a Plague Marine champion. Both for KT.

And in tonight's KT game another ork kommando earned his paint.
Over 3 turns, Snipa Boy put serious hurt on 3 Tyranid Warriors. He killed 2 of them, & softed the 3rd up enough that a regular Boy was able to handle it in CC.
So tomorrow.....

Played two 500-point games of Bolt Action.

Tonight, painting my quar cavalry unit leader and glued my3D print slann blood bowl team to their bases.

Yesterday, finished building my first of two bolt action japanese infantry boxes.

I finally rebased my Space Station team from 32mm to 25mm using resin bases from Infinity. The bases were too thick in the middle, so I took to it with a spinny thingy my dad gave me and ground it down enough to make them easier to walk over terrain. But I was dumb enough to place my magnifying glasses on my dehumidifier, and it began to slide off, so I snatched and caught it. I then looked back to my painting handle, which had Attelus on it as I was doing some touch-ups on him, and...there was only a base. It took me a second to realise what had happened, and then panic hit, and I began looking for him. I found him not far away. On the floor missing his left arm, so it took me a good while to find that and glue it back on, which was annoying.

Later, I was about to head to bed, I switched off the light in my hobby room, and as I pulled back my hand, I knocked the box with both my Angaran Chronicles minis and Secret War minis from my left palm. My minis went everywhere! I managed to break all of my Angaran Chronicles minis except for Anargrin, who was miraculously unscathed (I like to think it was his incredible agility which saved him, lol) Raleas, both her arms broke off and somehow her sniper rifle was broken into at least three pieces. Wilom's, Jelcine's, and Emilia's legs were broken off by the shins as they were 3d printed on their bases. I was looking forward to using them to play test my Angaran Chronicles skirmish game and have been trying to get all five together for a long time now, but oh well.

Luckily, all of my Secret War characters came out unscathed, just knocked off their new bases, even Attelus, even though his arm had been broken off earlier in the day.

So, that sucked. Too angry and tired to try to reassemble Raleas and co., so I just stuck Attelus and company back on their bases and went to bed.

Anyway, here are my Secret War minis on their new bases; I think they look better on 25mm instead of 32.

The bitz I needed to complete my DG KT arrived yesterday.
I now have, converted from 4 ancient derpy plastic bolter/knife mono-pose DG,:
1x plasma gun
1x Blight Launcher
1x Icon
1x bolter/knife - no mod needed!
& a current champion converted holding a plasma pistol
All base coated and ready for our next game where they will embark upon their quest for actual paint.

Honestly I probably spent more on bitz for this squad than the 4 base models have ever been worth....

Finished an Ulthwe Warwalker and a 40K Warglaive, which has long been without detail for it's base. Also undercoated some AoS scenery.

I realised a while back that if I run a TT Skirmish game club, I will have to have a diversity of factions for people to play. So I delved back into my pile of shame and began assembling my Dark Angel veterans. I've had them for, like...ten years, maybe? Not sure. And having fun with it posing the old school marines as they aren't mono pose might post pics later. I've got twelve DA vets (thirteen if I include my Company Master Remiel mini I painted years ago), so I might make six classic DA and the other six Angels of Absolution or something. I'm also considering having a house rule for Space Station Zero where players can choose two edges for their crew instead of one, as what? My Custodes crew will play very similarly to my Dark Angels crew, making them pretty dull.

Some more Darktide kitbashing, this time a pair of WIP's, of my bother's zealot (need to sling a chain across her shoulder to hold the flamer in place) and his mate's psyker (replace right hand with something a bit more appropriately psychic):



When these are done, taking a crack at turning some of the Blooded into Scabs, hopefully I can get a Mauler done at the very least.

Building my way through a box of Space Marine Heroes series 3 (Deathguard) that've been sitting on my to-do shelf for too long.

I based my first minis using Martian Ironearth, got some of it on their feet, but I’ve worked out a better solution for next time.

I primed, and zenithal highlighted my Dark Angels veteran minis. I then began test painting one of the minis, and he's almost finished. Frigged up the face a bit, but he's just going to be TT-ready.

Back OT, I mostly finished my seven DA veterans today just gotta base them and a few other things. One of them, he's bare-headed and has a shaved head, looks gloriously ugly, I'm quite proud of that lol. Might practise the powerfield effect on my Company Champion mini's power sword. Once I base them, I might post a pic or two.


I also painted up the head of the leader of my Custodes and a few other things. Planning on beginning my Angels of Absolution Vets tomorrow.

Managed to mostly finish two of my Angels of Absolution and began basing my Dark Angels. Didn't do too much as I had to help my dad with some sign writing as ordered by our almighty landlord for his walking trail lol

Later today (after the hangover wears off) I will finish building & base coating the following Kill Teams:

Almost completed another two Angels of Absolution; I just have to highlight and edge highlight one and began the fifth, who's a Company Master of sorts. Was hoping to get all five finished by the end of the day, but got distracted. Applied another layer of Astrogranite Debris on my DAs

Finished my Angels of Absolution minis, and I am just waiting for the Zone Mortalis bases I ordered to glue them on.

But while beige is one of my favourite colours (Anargrin, the main character from my Angaran Chronicles series signature two-piece suit, is beige with a navy blue shirt and tie), I think the Angels of Absolution look as good as green wing DA, they weren't fun to paint with GW's Wraithbone paint. It might be a base paint, but it covers worse than some layer paints, taking like four or five coats to cover and, even then, not too well. I've been working with it for ages, using it to base my Eldar. I'm glad that I zenithal highlighted my DA and AoA minis. I have actually painted surfaces I was going to paint with Wraithbone with Corax White, and it covered better than Wraithbone and allowed Wraitbone to cover better. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out, though. Does anyone know of a similar colour from a different manufacturer that works better?

I then began on my Adeptus Custodes, which has a much easier colour scheme, and I'm having much more fun painting them!

Finished the skins on 22 orks from 2 sets of kill team kommandos.

Seriously lovely models. Even putting them together was an absolute joy.

I planned out a crew for Space Station Zero.

Just had a couple of games of Planet 28 2nd edition to test the system. I made a Warband of 750 points which is just Attelus Kaltos and Adelana Helgen from Secret War. It's set between Secret War and Secret War: Upon Blood Sands, and I decided they were investigating into people disappearing from an Underhive slum.

The leads sent them to a former mining village that had run out of minerals, so most people had abandoned it. When they arrive to investigate, local mutants corrupted by Chaos almost instantly attack them. They called for backup and had to survive for 10+6 turns as each mutant they kill gets replaced by another coming from the other side of the board. Starting with 9 on the board.

It was pretty fun. Tried it as a stand-alone scenario, then as a part of a "campaign" (in the first game, I forgot to respawn the mutants, though, lol). They lasted almost all eight turns, but one charged Adelana and got a critical on its attack and rolled a nat eight on damage! (which is doubled to 16) Adelana rolled for her armour which was 1d8+4, and rolled snake eyes! Adelana was already hurt, so she went down. I then, for a laugh, rolled a 1d8 on the injury table and, of course, rolled a nat eight, which means she's dead.

It can't be canon now, lol.

I'm quite liking Planet 28 2nd ed so far; the character customisation is very in-depth, which is similar to my own TT Skirmish game for my Angaran Chronicles. Just have to remember to attack in close combat; the outnumbered attacker must roll an Awareness roll (Minus the number of attackers), Or else their Combat stat is -the number of enemies, which is pretty harsh but kinda cool at the same time.

Satisfies my weekly 2023 goal of building at least 1 item from my backlog.

I wasn't feeling well and was not in the mood for painting, so assembled my Imperial Guard box I bought last year I was going to kitbash them with my Death Korps of Krieg minis from my Octarius box, so I could have had all the Specialists in Kill Team 2: Electric Boogaloo. But can't be bothered with that now lol

Built an Abhorrent Arch Regent jumping off a rock. (Its the other option from the Flesh Eater Courts Start Collecting box if you build the Zombie Dragon with a Vampire instead).

Painted a Skorpekh Destroyer Lord.

Mostly completed three of my five Custodes, and they are a joy to paint. I like the colour scheme I gave them. Simple and quite quick, primed them black, painted their decorations Caliban Green, then edge highlighted the armour and Guardian Spears lead belcher. Then highlighted the decorations Warpstone Glow and then Warboss Green. It looks not too bad, still doesn't do the excellent minis justice, but still not too bad lol

Not much uhh yesterday, as it's past midnight now. Almost finished my Custodes and assembled a few minis here and there that are a part of my pile of shame and began basing my Dark Angels. I can't find for the life of me a helmetless head I was going to use on the Custodes 2nd in command. I also can't find my 2nd box of Custodes which I would've liked to use a head for in lieu of the missing one. Sorta ironic lol

I wanted to finish this project before the end of the year...a little hiccup sidelined me until the 31st.

Quite a bit by contrast to yesterday. My white tack arrived today, so I began pushing is into the holes of my Mantic Sci-Fi walls so the primer won't get in and make them hard to connect. If I prime them when they're connected, It's almost impossible to pull them apart later. It's...tedious. I did it for a good few hours but only completed eleven out of the several dozen pieces I've got. It drove me a bit nuttier, but it didn't help I was listening to HP Lovecraft audiobooks while doing it, lol. My cousin suggested White Tack over Blue Tack for hobbying, and he was 100% correct; way less messy.

My Zone Mortalis bases arrived, too, so I primed them with Lead Belcher and went over with the not Nuln Oil; now I've got to wait for them to dry, which will take a while.

Also found my 2nd Custodes squad sprues so primed and began painting the head.

Finished my Custodes and began basing them! And finished basing my Dark Angels, took some photos and will share them later. Getting through your pile of shame feels good, lol.

Later today sees my Grots fight their final game of our current Crusade.
My Grots vs an Admech force. I really hope the ADM player brings one of their flyers. I want to shoot it down & then loot it for future games.
