Good evening. Tonight I finished one more religious Leader for the Khornate Silent Reap warband : Bishop Karkhade.

Bishop Karkhade is one of the 8 bishops of Khorne that lead the Silent Reap in battle. As master of the Summoners, he directs the cults used to bring demons from their dark lair in the warp to the battlefield. Singing unholy hymns in a no longer human voice, the fronter between reality and madness shatters at each of his steps. Trading with beings from the warp is a deadly task, and his faith and unquestionable dedication to the blood god alone would not have keep Karkhade in such a power seat for long. The key to his longevity is his strength, and the respect he is able to instill into the warped creatures he claims to command. As a symbol of his might, he attaches to his armor the limbs of the undisciplined demons he punishes. After centuries of this unholy ritual, his armor has became more demon than metal, and provides him with an unpenetrable shell, as well as a precious source of power.

And a pick of all three Bishops assembled so far

Thanks man. Totally impractical armor i reckon, but well, Khorne blesses !

Tonight, I want to show talk about this guy, another cybergladiator for the Vivisector cult, called Guttery.

Magos Deum usually tends to consider planets as disposable. Picking worlds with highly superstitious populations and a low technological system, he spends the first years of his colonization silently studying. He then murders the most influential personalities and use their technologically reanimated bodies as puppets, throwing entire culture into their own apocalypses and reigning over the ruins. He usually lives factory world populated by a people of slaves as support factories for the Vivisector Cult and never come back. There is one exception to this rule, in the world of Cain Slivia. This world used to be a proud industrial hiveworld, until an evolution in the warp storms generated by the proximity of the eye of terror isolated it from the imperium. Without the resources to feed its population and factories, Cain Slivia slowly fell into darkness, led by brutal warlords reigning from its now crumbling spires. Deum took over by choosing the most promising warlord, slaying him and raising him again as Guttery. With the support of both the Cult and Guttery, Cain Slivia eventually fell. Magos Deum probably saw more than just another slave factory world, as he return several times after the system was pacified. Even now that the discovery of new roads across the storm now regularly brings imperial exploration parties, Deum maintains an occupation force, with Guttery as head of the welcoming comity.

And this morning, painted this retro guy !

After millenniums of fighting with different Iron Warrior Companies, Commander Valban has become an expert in fortification building and destruction. Since his integration to the Vivisector Cult alongside a detachment of Iron Warrior Brothers, he has become responsible for securing the many secret laboratories and stronghold of the cult. Trough clever traps, use of dominant geographical positions, minefields, disposable footsoldiers, and usually tons and tons of concrete, he sets up defensive systems allowing a minimal number of defenders to hold the positions while the Magos secure their heretical works...

Yeah, was not really looking for him, but found it when trying to optimize postage with another one and immediately knew I needed to have one. I really love the scuplt, there is something primitive or tribal about this helmet.

Those terminators look great. Love the ogre fist.

Warp Wanderers : Chaos warbands in the Eye of Terror @ 2016/03/19 19:26:20

Post by: KernelTerror

Thanks Fifty ! Yeah there is just enough room in it to fit a space marine arm.

Finished my last Oldhammer renegade

The Iron Warrior known as Arkastle is as any of his brother a deadly opponent, with a fighting style and skills learned through a long existence on battlefields across the galaxy. The campaign that really forged his specialty took place in an asteroidal mining complex in the eye of terror. For decades, a battle raged on between the Black Legion and the Iron Warriors for the control of these subterranean strongholds and their resources. Since then, and especially since he joined the Vivisector Cult, Arkastle has been the expert on underground warfare. Be it for securing a mining exploitation, digging assault tunnels using heavy excavation machinery or coordinate slaves that silently dig with hand and shovel in order to dynamite the enemy trenches overnight...

And a group shot of all the Oldhammer renegades that serve the Vivisector Cult... For now.

And that was all I had to paint. Back to building mode, need to finish a Dreadnought.

Post by: KernelTerror

Allright, so back to the assembling business. Assembled these five demons with guns from Prodos last night, no conversion apart for a slight repositioning of the leader's arm. Very cool amount of details I reckon, the work on the armor plates is brilliant. Only thing that disturbed me a bit was that some of em are smiling. Smiling ! In the grim future where there is only war, how could that be??? Considered replacing their faces with daemonette ones, fut finally i think I'll go for face paints in order the make them look mean. Oh and, if you think these are some outrageous examples of female armor, well, also got myself a box of Mabs...

In parallel, started to work on the Khorne dread's arms, goinf for a powerfist made out of ogre blades and a multimelta.

Warp Wanderers : Chaos warbands in the Eye of Terror @ 2016/03/20 13:37:16

Thanks man, lots more to do, but adding these arms definitely feels like a nice step forward.

Warp Wanderers : Chaos warbands in the Eye of Terror @ 2016/03/21 23:36:29

Post by: KernelTerror

Evening fellas !

In parallel of that big dread I indulged in some cultist kitbashing. The idea is to turn that corrupted eldar into a squad of 10 (to begin with).

First we have a four arm armored lady

Then some claw spawning dude

Then a big hairmetal flamethrower guy

Then someone who likes to lick skulls

Then a greenstuff demon lady with tentacles

All will be painted black and grey, with only orange wires feeding drugs directly into their brains.

Thanks for looking, and do let me known what you think, they are still in early WIP !

Warp Wanderers : Chaos warbands in the Eye of Terror @ 2016/03/25 16:42:23

Post by: KernelTerror

And four more perverted eldar cultists WIP to complete the squad :

Some warrior with a genestealer's buttocks as a mask/face

Big shoulders and a lauging face

A possessed longnecked lady

And some tall dude with a mace and again, some other model's buttocks as a face...

I like the use of a Kroot head (it is a Kroot head, isn't it?) on the last model. I have that head lying around and never thought of using it in such a way.

Warp Wanderers : Chaos warbands in the Eye of Terror @ 2016/03/28 14:59:49

Post by: KernelTerror

Thanks CorpusChain but no, Kroot heads are a bit more spikey. I thought this was a daemonette head, but I am having problems identifying it for sure on pictures of the sprue.
But you are right, cool stuff to do with kroot heads, I merged some to my CSM chosens' helmets in my old-still-in-storage Black Legion Army.

Good evening Dakka !

Tonight I got some work done on the khorne dreadnought. We are getting pretty close to completion I think, still needs more chains and bodyparts though... And paper scrolls where I can scribble blasphemies and a khorne Icon next to the brasero. Added a prodos PIP demon lady for scale.

Let me know what you think !

Warp Wanderers : Chaos warbands in the Eye of Terror @ 2016/04/01 19:44:32

Post by: Llamahead

Nifty weapons those blades on both arms might look cool. To be honest I quite like those Daemon ladies as Daemons don't need armour its the Stripper Templars who fight them that irritate me.

Warp Wanderers : Chaos warbands in the Eye of Terror @ 2016/04/03 14:04:04

Post by: KernelTerror

Thanks Llamahead !

Yeah I see what you mean, the daemons gals fit in the 40k Universe as slaanesh daemons, but their templar opponents would also need to be converted to demons/dark eldar maybe ? Or it would mean the the Sisters of Battle finally decided to worship slaanesh...

Post by: Ezra Tyrius

Damn, you really know how to make a dreadnought look mightily impressive

I really love how you combined the old RT dread with the Kastelan parts, although I can imagine it not being easy to get them to work together

Warp Wanderers : Chaos warbands in the Eye of Terror @ 2016/04/03 16:15:15

Post by: KernelTerror

Thanks Ezra ! Yeah, the dimensions were allright, but had to glue the front plate with an with an higher inclination, cut some parts of the kastellan's back in order to fill the gaps and finish with an ogre kingdoms cavalry skull...

Warp Wanderers : Chaos warbands in the Eye of Terror @ 2016/04/04 14:01:03

Post by: KernelTerror

Allright, finished painted on of the Prodos Ladies. Hopefully it made justice to a very slick sculpt.

Also got a double supply drop today, first off are these four renegades, that will thicken the Warp Messiahs's ranks

Then we have this Hitech not fallen angel, that should do great as an highly ranked priest of the Silent Reap

But I also worked, some stuff, such as finishing the khorne dread by giving it a trophy rack and some chains

And put the finishing touches to the Eldar Slaanesh cultists :

Warp Wanderers : Chaos warbands in the Eye of Terror @ 2016/04/05 23:31:13

Post by: KernelTerror

Evening Dakka, finished a cultist tonight !

Among the Shades, empty eldar shells emptied of their purity and filled with madness, Howl was the first to fall to darkness. He then developed a taste for hunting foes in the slaaneshy and tzeentchian wasteland of the Sacrifice to Sin's homeworld. He apparently played a key role into the tracking, capture and perversion of the other shades, which does not stop him from fighting alongside them when the opportunity comes.

Warp Wanderers : Chaos warbands in the Eye of Terror @ 2016/04/07 10:45:10

Post by: KernelTerror

Good day Dakka, finished painting another of the Eldar Cultists, the skull licking guy

The shade known as Cannibal received a very handy gift in exchange for his soul, as his mutated mouth now secretes an acidic spit, allowing him to dissolve the flesh of his enemies. One they have fallen, he usually feasts on their corpses, but this depraved behavior is not only a way to honor Slaanesh, but a mean to acquire information. By passing his demonic tongue on the corpses of a fallen enemy, he can decipher some of its last memories. As bones last a bit longer against his acidic saliva, he regularly keeps some with him when tracking the companions of his las foe.

These are definitely some slaaneshy Days, One more cultist done.

Warp Wanderers : Chaos warbands in the Eye of Terror @ 2016/04/10 20:34:30

Post by: KernelTerror

And one more possessed eldar !

For forfeiting their souls and purity, the shades received various rewards such as madness and demonic mutations. The twisted ways of chaos gave Maimed Harpy a pair of wings, allowing her to quickly get her opponents in reach of her deadly claws. That was until a keeper of secrets decided that such a mutation was a much to precious gift for such a slave, and tore down one of her wing. Since then, she is one again condemn to walk the wastelands...

Warp Wanderers : Chaos warbands in the Eye of Terror @ 2016/04/11 21:48:39

Post by: KernelTerror

Thanks Llamahead, well, just finished the leader :

And a group shot :

The Sacrifice to Sin's homeworld is an ever mutating demon world representing their twisted allegiances to both Slaanesh and Tzeentch. As such, it is in constant mutations, as perfumed oceans of acid dry overnight to leave place to forests of flesh and bones. Still, some of its features have been kept unchanged since the world's birth, such as the damnation wells, pits of corruption that will corrupt any sacrifice thrown into it. Another place that existed for millenniums is the mountain of eternal balance. Built atop of a mountain that dominates the wasteland, this building consists in a great number of daemonic temples suspended in unstable equilibrium with chains of demon metal. Each temple is populated with demons and represents a trade-off between both gods of the Sacrifice to Sin. Depending on the faith the demons populating a temple are able to inspire to mortals, or on their martial achievements, the building raises or falls. The grinding of chains, the chants of demons, and the screams from battles between temples make the mountain of eternal equilibrium a place of exquisite cacophony.

The Cohort of Light is one such demon warband, who build its temple on the mountain pretty recently and chained it to the blasphemous machine. Very popular with slaanesh oriented warbands, they have been able to make their church raise toward the gods, therefore precipitating other temples in disgrace, and towards the ground.

Well, so many gorgeous models out there, have to get them painted ^^ !
Thanks for the support, however tonight I will be presenting something that is neither a conversion, neither classical, but still a really great scultp imho, the Archfather Sammael by Hitech

Cardinal Emissar is one of the eldest and highest ranking members of the Silent Reap. As the last tremors of the Battle of Terra were felt throughout the galaxy, a joint force of Word Bearers and World Eaters that would later form the Silent Reap was retreating aboard a renegade battleship. On their trail, was a loyalist barge, aiming to destroy as many heretics ships as possible. More heavily armed and fitter for battle, the loyalists managed to cripple the Reap's ship just as it entered the warp. However, while the space battle occured, some Astartes of dubious allegiance managed to neutralize the loyalist ship's weaponry, and have it follow the renegades into the warp. Both ships, heavily damaged and having suffered terrible losses, ended up drifting into the warp. For centuries isolated and cut from the galaxy, both ships evolved as separated universes. On the renegade ship, World Eaters and Word bearers fought over resources and territory, bleeding each others dry. In the mean time, the loyalists were month after month drifting closer. Unexpectedly, their weapons did not fire when in range, and no defense force awaited the renegade boarding party when the two ships eventually collided. Instead, he that should later be known as Cardinal Emissar was awaiting the renegades surrounded by the long decomposed bodies of his sacrificed crew. He then offered salvation to both warbands, as during their long warp drift, Khorne had talked to him, and taught him the new laws of the newborn Silent Reap.

The porkliterator is fantastic! Great sculpting & kit-bashing (that tyranid arm is a nice touch). Your old school genestealer hybrids are also looking good. I cannot wait to see that dreadnought!

edit: How do you like the magick sculpt resin? I can imagine that trying to do that large of an area in green stuff could get irritating.

Warp Wanderers : Chaos warbands in the Eye of Terror @ 2016/05/11 17:06:02

Post by: KernelTerror

Thanks man, I am pretty eager to start painting it.

Really find of that first try with magick sculpt, I really think it could become a regular tool alongside greenstuff. As you say, it is definitely easier to sculpt large areas than it would be with greenstuff. On another hand, before drying up, it is less structurally strong than GS, so there is room for both resins.

What I have left to try out it using water to make is sculptable for a longer time, I think i saw some people doing it, sounds promising...

By all that is unholy, Kernel, I don't know what it is you smoke before you start modelling but seeing what you can create with it, I want some of it!

Jokes aside, that 'porkliterator' is looking absolutely amazing, can't wait to see how it progresses!

Good evening guys, finished painting a mab tonight

Yeah, sorry if you expected some kind of perfect bosom, but she already had a scar on her face, and though that wearing such outrageous female armor will probably get her a flashwound or two. So I might have added one or two with a knife ^^.

This girls will be some king of execution commando for Mother Squid (my TGG nepharya), I think the paintjob brings them together nicely even while they are from different manufacturers.

Yeah, aside from the obvious attributes, there are also a great deal of very cool details in these minis, the skulls, and I especially like the wires that enter their heads.

Evening Fellas !
Been a busy weekend, now these four guys join the ranks of the Vivisector Cult. Now I know they are technically not chaos, but I kind of like the Idea of a genstealer cult falling to chaos, and being lured in joining the vivisector cult by an heretic magos, to serve as test subjects. And who knows, maybe their link to the hivefleet could lead to capturing other creatures for chaotic perversion ?

Post by: KernelTerror

Wow that is some turn out, thanks a lot guys !

@Llamahead : Well I know I read in some old WD that given the circumstances, they would join with chaos in order to survive. Plus the eight point star on the chair of that ancient genestealer patriarch on a throne (need to get myself one of those...). So definitely not aberrant I'd say. My Idea would be that some high ranking dark mechanicus member/heretical ordo xenos personel would ally with a genestealer cult in order to trigger an hivefleet attack on an imperial world. Then seize the opportunity to capture some specimen/cloning material and produce their own tyranid/demon hybrids by combining science and demonology. Would be a suitable excuse to build some creepy stuff imho...

@Kriegspiel : Thanks, I'll join the thread and say hi ! I'll see where I am at in November, could be interesting indeed ! Fun idea to paint some crusaders in loyalists schemes btw ^^, really like the substitution pics you posted in the space crusade thread.

Tonight I have another one to post, a very cool sculpt from raging heroes, that will be the first member or a kind of demon aristocracy for the Sacrifice to Sin warband.

Evening fellas, finished this last big dude thjis evening

It is said that shortly after the Battle of Terra, when the corrupted Astartes Cardinal Emissar revealed its future faith to the Silent Reap, he was accompanied by some elite renegade members of his former chapter. Katar Hellgrin was one of these, and has been by the Cardinal's side since then. For his faith and centuries of service, Khorne rewarded him well, and mutated him into a towering demonic monster, mechanically slaughtering the blood God's Foes. He goes to battle with an heavy meltagun and a cursed demonic fist, allowing him to disintegrate the flesh of his ennemy, letting him collect some of their bones as unholy relics.

Thanks for watching, that was the last in my painting queue, I am now going back to converting mode. Time to deface that Silver Tower box...

Warp Wanderers : Chaos warbands in the Eye of Terror @ 2016/06/03 19:55:33

Post by: KernelTerror

Allright, feels good to be back in converting mode.
So, I decapitated all the Silver tower's goblins, and replaced their face with mechanicus pipes. They are aiming for the same look as the Hooded artillery

They all received additional appendage, just need to cover them in a bit more greenstuff cloth and wire and they should be done...

Warp Wanderers : Chaos warbands in the Eye of Terror @ 2016/06/05 11:46:58

Post by: KernelTerror

So after decapitating all these gobs, I was left with some very cool looking four eye hooded heads. Gotta find a use for them, so I made this nurgle cultist/

I am still considering making more of those...

Also gave a Tzangor an old genestealer gun.

And finished clothing the dark mechanicus servants :

Evening people, tonight I assembled more damned souls who will join the war wanderers.

First off, a very simple conversion of a Silver Tower cultits. Loved the religious pose, he will join the vivisector cult as zoidberg the genestealer priest responsible for involving his brethens with the Vivisector Cult.

Wanted to have ten of my lower class mechanicus slaves, so decapitated a skaven that just happened to pass by.

And finally, assembled these zombie bodyguards from raging heroes. As with the previous one, I am really fond of their distorted/awkward zombie poses. I imagine them moving as the nurses in the Silent Hill movie.

Post by: KernelTerror

Thanks a lot Kurnost ! Today I painted yet another cybergladiator, named King Ghoul.

The Vivisector Cult's Magos Deum usually preys on worlds of low technological level in order to turn them into religiously controlled factories. He usually disciplines them by turning their leaders and key figures into his mindless cybergladiators. For decades, the warrior that would become King Ghoul wedged war in a medieval world thorn by rival warbands. Only once he turned to the blood god did he gain a sufficient advantage and eventually united the whole planet under his fist. Centuries later, that world's resources awoke Magos Deum's greed, and his slaves started waging war against the Khorne worshippers. The king defeated many gladiators in combat before being slain by an heavy energy weapon, that melted half of his body. Out of respect for his Strength, Magos Deum resurrected him as King Ghoul, and let him carry his ancestral axe and shield. Despite all the efforts of the Magos, his Khornate past also sometimes resurfaces in the midst of battle, but the rage that it causes can usually be channeled towards the enemy...for now.

And a few group Shots :

Hello Dakka, finished my demoin beastman sniper tonight !

Amdusias has been around the Sacrifice to Sin warband's operations since its very beginning. Not only is he part of the demonic creatures that hunt damned soul on the warband's homeworld. He has been one of the most proficient purveyor or game for the cult's hunting field. Whatever creature he originally was, Amdusias was mutated beyond recognition, but he still is very much mortal, and as such able to travel a long way from the eye of terror. Roaming in hostile territory, he observes inhabitant of unsuspecting worlds, and selects their most promising members. Once settled on a target, he uses his demonic rifle in order to hit it with a pure lightning of warp energy. Soon after the hit was carried, a creature similar to the one that was just assassinated is born on the sacrifice to sin's demonic world, a perfect and rewarding game to track down and sacrifice to the gods...

Post by: KernelTerror

Thanks a lot Fifty, completely disregarded proportions for that build, so I am glad you like him !

Finished two more Nurgle Cultist today

The derelict ship Mill of Sickness Grains is a place in the Eye of Terror where chaos commanders can recruit a huge variety of Nurgle worshippers. Demons, Hordes of zombies, mutants or even renegade marines will joyfully join a conflict for the glory of Nurgle and for personal profits. The "Slithering Purgists" provide a very interesting set of skills to an army. After centuries following mortal renegade warbands, these corrupted medics have an unique knowledge of the different presents the chaos gods lay on their followers. Regularly inspecting the troop's different mutations, they decide what limbs need to be cut off, medicated, drugged, or even remutated through worship. Their simple presence greatly improves the durability of a warband staying for too long close to the mutating powers of the warp, by not letting its soldier degenerate too much into uncommandable beasts. For the right price, they even work with non Nurgle followers, providing their experience to dark mechanicus mad scientists.

On another note, I was about to start painting my six old school demon princes yesterday, but changed my mind.

Guess I was too happy to realize I could build six of them with the bits I had received, and settled for minor conversions without thinking of a concept for the squad.
So back to the drawing board, as they were all that was left in my painting queue anyway, the main idea for now is to :
* Rework the heads, try not to change the original faces too much, but give them a more elongated skull, maybe with appendages...
* For now three of them have the same face, this needs to be addressed.
* Replace the original wings with something more crazy

Good day people, wip update of what I have been working on lately.

First, decapitating a metal tyranid guard without damaging the head is not easy. But now I have been able to start sculpting it into some kind of flesh church...Some experiment by my dark mechanicus warband...

Then started attaching a pink horror to a throne, he will become the advisor of Magos Deum, the creator of the cybergladiators posted earlier. Again, it will be darkmechanicusified later on...

And finally, kept working on the knight legs, here is one with pistons and the first surfaces of its final armor plating...

Thanks a lot B-Tone ! Stay tuned then, once I receive the bits I'll get started on the Advisor's boss, who will follow the same concept, only bigger and meaner !

And I seem to have a thing for weird floating things these days, just finished the tyranid cuthulu mechanicum guard... Probably vey hard to read right now, meaning I'll have to be carefull with the palette or it will end up a mess...

Post by: KernelTerror

Thanks a lot guys !

@genom.cor : Well as you'll see in the pictures I added some kind of metal crest, I think it works nicely.

@Llamahead : The book is pretty simple actually, started with plasticard for the cover, and bits of paper for the pages. I am pretty confident the glue and basecoat will hold them together, we'll see when he is painted.

Now here come the WIP shots, starting with some work on the head of the cultist

The more wiring in order to finish the battle magos

And some sculpting on the neck and arms of the sorceror.

Thanks a lot fellas !

@Llamahead : It is actually one of the familiars from Silver Tower, but it could as well be from an illustration in a medieval heretic book, funny looking, but also pretty occult.

@EDC : Thanks EDC, cultists definitely are some of my favorite models to build, pretty much anything go and almost any concept can be explored.

@Boss Salvage : I actually received that "head" in a mixed bit bag and immediately thought that it needed to be a sorceror head. The rest of the model happened around it ^^.

@ROTTEN_FACTORY : Well I actually have been working on it a bit, currently trying out some armor platings for the upper legs, always interested in suggestions of course :

Short update, as I assembled the four legs I presented a few posts earlier.

@EDC : Thanks ! It is destined to join the Sacrifice to Sin, so two slaaneshys and two tzeentchians. Now that you mention it having four of them would have been the opportunity to also tag in Nurgle and Khorne, but I think the legs are too thin for them anyway. Plus, The reason behind this mini is that I ended up with four hydra necks that will give them a nice sly look.

@ROTTEN_FACTORY : Thanks ! The grey stuff is Magic Sculpt, pretty nice to sculpt large bodyparts, and I usually go back to greenstuff for the details. Definitely will look at the tutos, this guy will need custom made armor. And as usual from you, great concept art...I am thinking two legs as the ones above, some tyranid torso I have lying around and an inquisitor archo flagellant head.... Might really try this...

Warp Wanderers : Chaos warbands in the Eye of Terror @ 2016/10/04 20:08:08

Post by: KernelTerror

@LostCarcosa : Thank you very much, very kind of you to say. The magos indeed has the legs and back of a stormcast eternal. His torso is made from a CSM breastplate and some greenstuff wiring. Regarding the cultist conversion, the autogun is one of the DV ones that actually comes in a separate part, so no ripping needed. The left arm is from some dark elf I think...

@EDC : Thanks ! Can never store enough bits, eventually they find their place. And yeah, these ancient bloodletters are awesome. Took me a while to get the five different models, but now I have a total of seven...One left to find in order to reach the Khornate 8....

The WIP of the day is the four faced demon's torsos, now attached to the legs. Muscles (especially the six packs) will be smoothed a bit with greenstuff...

Problem is I am now out of resin, already ordered more, but I'll have to wait a bit before being able to progress on it.

@VyRa : Thanks ! Yeah, I'll probably be a bit more heavy handed on the Custodes and SIsters anyway.

@EDC : Thank you, that helmet is from spellcrow, still have more for three other sorcerors ^^ !

In the lean time, here is the progress on the caped marine showed previously, and his four brothers in arm.

Sunday night update time, finished the ogroid conversion :

Aand finally got started on my second "twisted creature in a chair", featuring a plaguebearer belly as a mouth

(disregard the serial port converter, grabbed a random item to stabilize the thing...)

Sculpting on the first pair of knight legs is finished...Might touch up some details eventually, but starting to look like something I think.

Ogroid conversion is sick, great job! I'm very curious how siamese demon will looks finished.
Good progress with knight legs

Ohhh. Unspeakable things have happened in my unmentionables. Chaos Knight is very exciting and Ogroid is awesome af! What's it count as?

Damn you're prolific. I can barely keep up!

Excellent work on the daemon prince and the Ognoid looks brilliant. Is that converted from the big beastie from The Silver Tower?

Thanks a lot my friends, your support keeps the heresy factory running ^^ !

@genom.cor : I am actually just building those for fun, with no army in mind. But if it ever sees a table, It would probably be as himself, for something from the dark heresy range or inquisimunda....

@EDC : It absolutely is, barely touched the body actually, just had to swap the arms, the head and add the back of a castellan robot.

Not much progress to show for this update, I kept on adding resin to the siamese demon. It will have four arms that each spread in two at the elbow level. Connecting properly each arm with two torsos proves a bit tricky, but armor plates will surely help...
This thing will look so grotesque ^^ !

Very cool. The Hydra heads are a great addition. Does this mean it's Alpha Legion related?

I can feel my sanity melting away by just looking at that twisted thing. It's downright lovecraftian. What you are doing here is art, nothing less.

Warp Wanderers : Chaos warbands in the Eye of Terror @ 2016/11/23 22:20:55

Post by: KernelTerror

Many thanks everyone !

@Fifty : Thanks, I think it also helps bulking them up and maintaining coherence with the oversized shoulder plates.

@genom.cor @VyRa : Glad you like it, wait till I add the secondary heads of lesser souls alongside the four main necks ^^.

@EDC : No links to the Alpha legion, if I remember well they operate too far from the Eye to have demonic support. I received the hydra necks in random ebay dark elve bit bags, and well what can I do with four of these...Next thing you know I was building a siamese demon...

Tonight I finished a second set of knight legs, with arches teeth and wiring :

Edit : Daym, I reckon these knight pics may be hard to read because of the different materials and color. I originally wanted to wait for the three of them to be built before painting, but next session I'll at least basecoat a pair of legs, to see what it looks like...

Thanks LostCarcosa ! Pretty curious to see how this will end up too, you never really know with chaos ^^.

Allright, third and last pair of legs finished for the knights, meaning I'll start their torsos in the next building session, that should be fun.

Off to painting then !

@ROTTEN_FACTORY : Thanks ! Me too, I have been holding on to the piece of plastic I want to use for the shoulders for around a year ^^ !

@Llamahead : Thanks ! Yeah I find that making three at the same time is not that much more work, since I only have to think of the design once. Plus, this way I will able to try more weapon layouts.

Very cool! Each marine looks pretty intimidating by himself, but the whole squad together looks doubly so. Also, what helmet is that on the last Word Bearer? Keep the dark mechanicum's daemon forge pumping!

Warp Wanderers : Chaos warbands in the Eye of Terror @ 2016/12/19 17:01:40

Thanks LostCarcosa ! The last helmet is a old school chaos warrior helmet, from the ones with terminator-like head attachments. Meaning I have three generations of chaos helmet in the same squad ^^.

Tonight, I finished the silver tower ogre conversion :

And for today, here comes the tentacle demon lady :

Warp Wanderers : Chaos warbands in the Eye of Terror @ 2016/12/21 09:15:25

Post by: LostCarcosa25

Good to see the daemon forge churning! That ogre conversion is awesome. I especially like the tattoos, and love the small head/big body contrast. And the tentacle demon lady is superb. She has a very strong King in Yellow vibe, which I highly approve of! I am not a huge fan of the plastic daemonette models by themselves, but, in this case, that head definitely works. What is the base model? It looks like an old vampire lord or maybe even Isabella von Carstein, but I'm not sure. And thank you for letting me know about the chaos helmet. That is way too cool that you have three generations of chaos helmets in one squad. As always, I look forward to seeing more of your work!

Warp Wanderers : Chaos warbands in the Eye of Terror @ 2016/12/21 16:35:31

Post by: KernelTerror

Thank you my friend. Yes, this is an Isabella von Carstein dress, received it in an ebay bit bag and already was covered in more paint than isopropyl cared to strip. So I had to limit the details, especially on the top, but I think it turned out okay.

Today, I finished this Ahriman conversion :

Good day dakka, back to converting stuff, starting with corrupting a Custodes :

Also completely changed my mind on the "Magos in a chair" project, so this demon body ended up on this pair of legs. Looking weird for now, but they will mainly be covered by a robe.

And finally, started on an ascended sorcerer, using a carnifex groin as a head :

@CorpusChain: It is thee melee weapon of the Original dreadnought. Still pondering whether it fits the models' dynamism to be honest, will sleep on it...

That's some beautiful heresy right there!
On the arm, it looks like he'd have trouble moving with it, but it is 40K so logic need not always apply

Looking good as always! Your sorcerers came out splendidly, and the colours really compliment each other. I particularly like Ahriman's force weapon. And the carnefix & custode conversions look great. Can't wait for more!

Post by: KernelTerror

Thanks Kurnost, Yeah, a bit oversized, but 40k physics apply and it should behave as a power fist ^^. I have probably done worse anyway...

Thanks LostCarcosa !

Got some updates today, first with the custode. I moved the claw and I think it fits the model's dynamism better. The second shoulder armor also 'balances' it. It's about done now,

And the ascended sorceror/carnifexgroindude got some horns and back armor plating :

Custode's pose is perfect. Moving the claw back was a great idea!!
