Been a long time KernelTerror, and in catching up all I can say is Wow! Your army is huge in total at this point! The warp is a truely mysterious place and that hellblade you call a tie, is it? Lol, really fun!
Thanks a lot genom.cor, glad you approve of my experiments. And you saw the weaponry of the TIE correctly, if it ever get fielded, it will be as an hellblade.
Today, I worked on the knight titan's weapons, building the beginning of some kind of plasma carbine and a sword :
@CorpusChain : The black plastic part on top of the gun ? No, it is a plastic furniture foot, the kind you insert into an hollow metal tube to not damage the floor.
But yeah, finding funny looking plastic parts is a part of modeling I may enjoy a bit too much ^^. On these last two weapons, you'll find two different kinds of superglue caps, a yogurt lid, different wall plugs, a broken metal chain, a wine cork, a beer wax top, a citadel paint pot, and some plastic that held my printer together during delivery.
Today I started doing some detailing on the TIE's wings :
But most importantly, I also finished the knight and started assembling it to see how it look and decide on a final pose. Clay in the joint between the legs and the torso is still being pressed into shape right now, hence the improvised scaffolding.
Thanks MonkeyTroll ! That might be because of the way I scratchbuild these things. While some people methodically measure and cut plasticard, I just loot any weird looking piece of plastic or metal I can find and cover them in glue and clay until they stop falling off. I guess that would make me the ork of the story... I'm fine with that ^^.
Those topless berzerkers are freaking amazing! Love the poses. I also really like the size of the background drop, I do think 40k is the ideal place for this kind of gigantic buildingscapes but GW is kinda passing up on that potential (understandable, a plastic kit of that size would be expensive...).
All looking good. I thought you might be going for a split level bunker from the first shot...wondered if you had built it up so you could have an entrance/firing-slit/tunnel at the bottom. But looks like it's going to be a Big Bunker instead
Thanks monkeytroll ! Should probably come in handy in the warp ^^ !
Sooo, a few days back, I had a fully ready to be painted chaos knight.... And here it how it looked yesterday morning :
Yeaah, tried to take it apart for painting, realized the hip joint was too strong to properly dismount, then that the main blue component would make a nice turbine for a dreadclaw. Ended up destroying the whole torso.
However, I want to enter this knight in the dakka painting competition, so I quickly found this old bit of sander as a replacement :
And here it is, almost entirely assembled again :
Some more detailing to do, but it should soon be ready for paint...A second time !
Thanks of the kind words genom.cor and Llamahead !
Since I entered the knight in the monthly competition, I started painting it right away, and was able to do quite a lot of progress over the weekend, both of the knight's weapons can be called finished, modulo some touchups here and there...
Some progress on the bunker. The texture of the lower half is done, and I applied some first layer of paint, mostly to locate area that needed further texture work. Next step, finishing the upper half...
Good Emperor those knights are terrifying! Charge the Shadowsword volcano cannon and lock on!
The bunker looks ace too! Good work all around, as usual.
Thanks genom.cor !
Shadowsword you say ? Hmmm, I'm afraid you are right, better build a third knight to be on the safe side...
Made progress on my bunker earlier, by applying plaster to the buttresses. A plastic bag separates the two parts, but should let the top half dry into shape and stay in place on its own.
Progress on the bunker, the buttresses are dry, making the top half ready to receive its basecoat :
Also finished setting up my new modeling lair, so regular modeling should soon restart ^^ !
Thank you very much Zid ! I actually do not have a table, but building these were really fun, and gave me the itch to make more of them ^^ !
At least, they'll be great to take pictures of finished models !
KernelTerror wrote: Thank you very much Zid ! I actually do not have a table, but building these were really fun, and gave me the itch to make more of them ^^ !

Very true! I need some scenery for mine too, I always hate having to set up a light box everytime I take pics to make mine look good haha
Great looking terrain, nice and bleak colour scheme which fits in well with the cultists!
Interested to see what you do with the BFG stuff, I've always been interested in collecting a few ships but decided to hold out until GW eventually decides to reboot it in 5 years or so
Yeah, I too would be very happy to see a reboot of BFG, the general aesthetic of their ships is too good to be left untapped. In the mean time, I've kept an eye on ebay and secured some ships at a reasonnable price...Then, scratch build with heavy use of molds should follow !
I haven't gone back through the old stuff yet, but I'm enjoying your BFG stuff that you've been doing lately. I don't play Age of Sigmar, but that Galrauch model looks cool.
Cheers Syro_ ! If I field Old Galrauch, it will probably be as a Helldrake, he'll look the part just fine. Ooooor may in BFG ? as a gigantic demon beast that preys on ships entering the warp ^^.
By all the Gods in the Warp, Kernel, I am in absolute awe of your work I'm loving the Berzerkers, the new Knight, that amazing backdrop you've created (an idea that I'm totally going to steal, by the way), it's all so wonderfully weird and deliciously heretical
Keep up the good work, and may the Eye watch over you in all you do!
@Syro_ : Thanks ! I promise I'll feed him some ships once he is painted !
@Ezra Tyrius : Much appreciated mate, always glad to see you come by. I am definitely looking forward to seeing the a backdrop from you, that was definitely a fun build !
Finished two more frigates tonight :
I unfortunately do not have access to the third sword and cobras right now, so the group shot will have to wait...
Those Idolators look nice! And I think the freehand icon of Khorne looks fine the way it is, considering the small scale; and it's not like blood-worshipping madmen are known for being very tidy with a paintbrush
Ahaha, Thanks for warning me monkeytroll ! Seems that Tzeentch has been messing with my copypasting skills ^^ !
That or lack of sleep. Surely Tzeentch though.
Galrauch looks ace And I think few captains would consider themselves lucky to encounter a Warp Dragon indeed!
And that tree stump By the Throne, that thing gives me nightmares by itself! Perfect Chaos spawn/gribbly material, can't wait to see what you do with it!
Thanks a lot friends, glad you are intrigued by this project, I certainly am ^^ ! Its new legs are drying at the moment, I'll soon be able to take a picture with them attached :
Also continued on the LoER competition, by flushing some liquid candy down the drain and attaching them to my building :
Started on something else. I salvaged the plastic wrappings of a egg shaped kid toy glued it, and filled it with expanding foam. I am now wiring a corpse to it, in order to build something inspired by MonkeyTroll's hierarchs.
Thanks a lot folks ! Did some work on the temple tonight, adding some niches and part of an audy for the roof. Also started glueing some wires together, that will come toughen up the pillars. Here are some very poorly lighted pictures of it :
Been following your thread for a little bit and having checked in last time, I was wondering what you were planning with that stump. Gotta say, blown away by the detail you've put into it!
Really liking the look of your temple too, really cool use of the hubcap (?) from your Audi
Thanks a lot for the support Tyranid horde, put a lot into that project, glad you think it was worth it !
Not my Audi ^^, I just have a condition (as many people here I suspect) that makes me pick up and store most of the plastic bits I encounter (it was on the sidewalk mind you, not on someone's Audi). Now I also have a hubcap of the wife's Dacia, that should soon be made into a dreadclaw, but that is another story....
The terrain is coming together very nicely for a daemon worldscape KT! Also, that ascended magos looks like it's going to be good! Definately be scary seeing that down range as a guardsman, though I think a squadron of gunships should handle it...
.
Guardsman Jenkins! Vox me in to Aeronautica command. Call sign Hounds tooth eight niner. Contact, grid coordinates 45.668. Massive hostile... erm ... titan class...thing. Requesting immediate ASS!
.
Copy Hounds Tooth 89. Vendetta squadron Brimstone15 reporting. We are in the pipe with the Handsome Boys, Scions 2 twenty 2... we are go for thouchdown on hostiles in 30 ... 29... Whoa that sucker is big! Fire at will boys!
Well thought Fifty ! A bit rounder but between the humanoid hands and the back tentacles, there is a common look indeed !
Thanks genom.cor ! Hahahah, yeah even him should not venture where an airstike can reach him, misses some ground to air defenses, should have thought about that ^^. Definitely see a cloverfield like battle between it and a few Valkyries. Lore wise, this thing should be of the sneaky type though, I can imagine him popping unexpected on the outside of an imperial spaceship though... Knock knock, guess who the warp brought ?
Did some more progress on the temple today : The expanding foam has filled most od the recesses nicely, and was ready for cleaning.
After that, is was time to start applying some texture with the usual pva/dirt/water mix, in order to tie all the pieces together :
Your stuff is incredible! That chaos temple is so dark, so inspired, so gothic and yet so sci-fi.... Like something HR Giger might dream up. Fantastic work!
Thanks a lot tinfoil, mentioning Giger is one of the highest praise I can think of ! Means a lot coming from you, The Harrowed has been one of the blogs that got me back into the hobby back in 2015 !
Getting close to finishing the temple, added around a hundred faces on the main arches, base paints and washes applied, only some details and highlight to do and that will be it :
That wash really brought out the Giger Tin was talking about, that sick brown-green black tone, especially with all those faces. Great progress Kernel.
Thanks Not Online !
Not sure what size a giant spawn is, but I feel this would be a bit big, it sits on a custom base, and in terms of size, sits between a knigt and a warhound I'd say ^^. So probably no matched up play for this dude I'm affraid.
But thinking about what genom.cor said earlier, I think I'd love to field it against a bunch of imperial chopper-style fliers in a densely built area ^^ !
Mate that warp beast is incredible. I love seeing people explore different avenues of Chaos, and this fleshy daddy long legs is just great. I love that the smaller tendrils look like limbs at first glance when you cast your eye over the underside of the walker - makes you really want to look at the beast or else you end up double-guessing what you're seeing - pure chaos.
Temple is also a nice terrain piece. Getting a cool giger vibe and the little statues on the shelf are a nice touch!
I love your take on Chaos too - that stuff is crazy good. I agree about the "double take on what you're seeing" effect that is so awesome with the big thing. Love the corpse wired in the egg and the gateway especially.
Thanks a lot tzurk, glad to hear the pictures let the viewer get lost in the amount of cables, tentacles and claws that constitute this beast, I certainly did while building it ^^ !
Thanks kestral, much appreciated ! I'll get back to working on the egg soon, I reckon its place in line was stolen by the temple and big beast !
Good day everyone ! Been neglecting to update this blog lately, but I have not been idle.
First, a project I had for a while, which is to turn this plastic wrapping into an enormous BFG dark mech barge :
First components added to the thing :
Also started on my third knight, placing new armord plates on its legs, started detailing the body and built a first gatling.
And I also want to enter the latest LoER round, by building an arena out of these bits. Still a bit hesitant on the size of the whole thing to be honest, it will require at least an 80 by 80cm base... Still need to work out the general look of the outside of the thing.
Thanks boss ! And yes, that is the torso of the primaris captain from the dark imperium box, with the aquila covered with a more appropriate design of course.
By the Unholy Pantheon, Kernel, you truly out-do yourself every time! The giant Chaos beast is simply a work of art, and the temple is delightfully sinister
Seriously, I bet that there's a plaque floating around in the Warp somewhere that reads: "Heretic of the Month: KernelTerror"
Loving the winged Chaos Lord too, reminds me a bit of the old metal Raptors
Keep up the good work, and keep spreading the Word of Chaos like the glorious heretic you are!
@Not Online: Ahaha thanks ! Descent into madness and chaos spawnhood is also a possibility I'm afraid ^^ !
@Ezra : Thanks ! I was actually a bit unsure about that egg design, but with the latest tentacle additions I am feeling more confident in it ! More soon on that one.
Real life getting in the way of the warp these days, but tonight, I managed to work a little bit on my LOeR entry, by slicing the arena in 4 quarters, and covering them with plaster, to add strength, texture, and protect the polystyrene from the spray paint.
Made some progress on the Dark Mechanicus barge, still lots of detailing to do, but getting there, with the addition of prow features, pits, ventral guns an more...
That might happen yes ^^ !
My plan is to cram the thing with as many plastic bits as I can, then basecoat it to see how much more details it requiers.
At that point, I might cry a bit.
Or conclude how many more molds I need to make in order to make the thing believeable. But to answer your original question, yes, if I have to cast original BFG things onto that plastic squeleton in order to finish it, I shall !
Allright, time for an Arena update, made some progress adding the main features to all four quarters of the thing :
To fulfill the LoER's gaming related material, I bought some cheap casino chip trays :
That I integrated into the walls. It does not show well right now, as the things are transparent, but they should make nice alcoves where to put statues :
The second tray is located right below an extended terrace, hope the thing will hold...
I still have to flatten the arena's inner walls, but they now have two doors :
Thanks a lot Syro ! That one is indeed quite reasonnable ^^ !
Finished the Egg tonight :
And also worked on the arena over the weekend, by smoothing the inner walls of the arena :
Also added some walls and more plaster to the interior of the opened section :
And finally, all sections now have external floor texture, and the columns were jointed to the walls, again, with plaster.
With all these steps done, I still have to find a way to do some clean seats for the entire thing. For which I do not have a plan yet, should be fun ^^ !
After that, I should be able to basecoat.
I already commented on the arena in the contest thread, but wow, that egg turned out really cool and good. I couldn't really see where you were going with it for the longest time, but I should have know it would be impressive keeping your past creations in mind.
So after spending way to much money on random plastic bits from the hardware store, and looking for spoons that would be small enough yet not too recognizable, I finally gave up and built a tool to make seats :
And here is a first quarter of the arena with some seats rows. Once dry it will need a second pass in order to make it look cleaner, but quite happy with how that turned out :
Note that the steps are of different heights, thought that would make the thing more interesting, hope that'll still look good.
Thanks Syro_ ! Glad you approve.
And no worries about the stupid buys, it's part of the game I guess ^^.
There are now seats all over the arena !
Tomorrow, I should get some time to power up the sander, and work on the contact surfaces of the four blocks, in order for them to connect properly, then finally, on to basecoating !
Third quarter done, not a lot to do on that one though, just a few addition to delimit the balcony properly (more jointing will follow), some alcoves, and a mass of wires...
Tout à fait mon cher, jouons terra à la roulette du Chaos !
Finally finished the detailing of the fourth quarter of the arena. Some more joint work to do to properly integrate some of the pieces, then on to painting !
KernelTerror wrote: Tout à fait mon cher, jouons terra à la roulette du Chaos !

Meanwhile i thought i was productive then you show up and just slam that down.
Spawnhood yay ! More appendices to sculpt greenstuff !
Reworked the arena floor today, making it completely flat. While the original setting with kind of a platform was interesting to let some models have the higher ground during battle, it also proved terrible to have the different quarters properly fit together. With a bit of cutting and the addition of aluminium pieces, it now connects better. I just have to redo the texture...
And finally finished the arena, just in time for the LoER deadline, damn that was a hard one, lesson learned I guess, next time I will not be attempting a 80 by 80 cm build...
There are definitely places that would justify more touch ups, and I clearly gave up on more details that I initially thought of, but it is at a state were I feel happy about it. It will be nice to work on something else too I reckon !

Now this, this i like.
Soon you can play an apocalypse game over a whole dark mechanicum battlefield the seize off a room!
Impressive.
I expect the LoER contest kept you pretty busy. I'm glad you're back to working on one of your chaos knights, the others you made amazed me. I have high expectations for how this one will turn out.
Thanks for the support Syro_, it did take all of my time yes ^^ ! That knight trio is an humongous project too though, I'm glad to be reaching the final steps of that one !
Thanks Not Online !, here is that team in its final stage, still questioning replacing the mortar's mouth with a more demonic one, but we'll see how it looks with paint on it. And then build 9 more maybe...
Ahaha Not Online !, regarding the waist size ? Yeah, that comes with the design of these knights, but of the three this one probably has the widest shoulders, and thinner waist. I'll see as painting goes along wether a rework of that area feels necessary...
Thanks Syro_ ! Just in time for the new chaos knight codex, hopefully they do not make that dual gatling setup illegal ^^ !
Could be interesting yes, if you have further ideas on that I'd be interested . Tbh I already kind of thought the thing semi-skeletal, with parts that are but metal limbs, while other are covered in demon flesh.
KernelTerror wrote: Could be interesting yes, if you have further ideas on that I'd be interested . Tbh I already kind of thought the thing semi-skeletal, with parts that are but metal limbs, while other are covered in demon flesh.
You could also make guts?
Plastic straws?
Cables etc that drop out of it? Maybee a nurgling or two could be in there?
Oh for sure. Thing is, it will be much simpler to paint the thing as long as I can separate its legs from its torso, so I'll keep these ideas in mind, but first finish painting it.
Then we'll see if further rework of the waist is needed, which may indeed be the case.
I like it very much, gotta ask though, how did you build your knights exactly?
And would you consider it possible to make them cuthuluesque looking with cables?
How I built these knights ? Well almost "entirely from scratch" would be the short answer ^^ !
Otherwise although all three are quite different, there are some common patterns... Each legs is for example are all built around a wooden skeleton in each time two custom carved bits. They are then glued to soft plastic component around which the foot is build, making it easy to then screw the foot into the base.
Legs are covered in shields made from PVC tubes and finally screwed using long woodworking screws into the pelvic part.
Then regarding the torso, they are all build around a solid central piece, respectively a car engine part, a power sander and a lamp, and on two specrical parts for the shoulders, for the first two there were salvaged on a giand kinder easter egg, and on the last one from a funnel.
Then of course loads of random bits, resin, clay, wiring, glue and some bits here and there.
The cuthuluesque bit sounds very feasible yes in case you are going for the classical tentacle face I would suggest starting with some very thick gardening wiring, that you can use as tutor for plants, and start gluing different kind of wires around that.
Sounds like a great project for you army, let me know if I can provide more details on how mine went.

I will probably get myself two off the big renegade knights, one will be normal everyday use the other though will have his arms and face probably cabled.
Atm i am Stuck at the drawing board though, maybee i will just do some smaller hellverins instead.
And @Not Online! : hellverins are cool indeed, but bigger knights mean better knights ! But indeed scratch build can sometimes get stuck in design. I usually start dismantling various appliances when I am stuck on a build, usually provides nice bits...
@Not Online : Would you be interested in our insurance plan for defilers ? It comes with a 12 month heretek support plan and a free reaper autocannon.
Progressed on the knight, by adding the first elements of the ribcage suggested by NotOnline. I thing it nicely eases the transition from the the legs to the shoulder line. More guts and wires to be added of course.
Hmmm, would make sense yes, my next goal for troops is to have more mortars. Would make sense to integrate them in an artillery section also featuring the mandatory big long range guns...
The type of gun I love, but that might start causing some storage issue, and I still do not have a durable storage plan for my arena either...
Maybe a minotaur artillery would be nice ? Or might be worth looking at the old Epic vehicles, there is always some inspiration there...

Ayy, actually wasn't there a nurgle apocalypse unit that was basically a driving siegetower?
Minotaur would be great though.
KernelTerror wrote: Oooh, yes the nurgle plague tower would definitely be fun to build...
And in terms of absurd artillery, the doom blaster could be a challenge ^^
Altough a basic minotaur might be a challenge for you, would completly go out of your style.
Ahaha, weeeeell, to me Minotaur just means two earthshakers on something, could be a tank, or a bunch of tentacles and rotten flesh...
Nurgle tower would need a chassis though...
KernelTerror wrote: Ahaha, weeeeell, to me Minotaur just means two earthshakers on something, could be a tank, or a bunch of tentacles and rotten flesh...

That made me think, souls are used as a Kind of currency in the warp right? Who's the banker, do they Need one and if it is a minor deeity of chaotic banksaves of DOOM?
Thanks a lot WargamingWarrior ! They take up space but make for a quite satisfactory sight. I ought to take a picture of all of them together at some point.
KernelTerror wrote: WArf, unfortunately I do not own an Helldrake model, I am using an old galrauch when in need. You have an Heldrake on the way right ?
Ayy, i need the size mostly for well something
Galrauchs nice.
Looking forward to finding out what it is !
If it helps, my chaos tie fighter uses the base of a necron doom scythe, it flies at 12.5cm from the ground. No idea wether helldrakes have similar bases...
Much appreciated Syro_ ! I indeed need to limit oversized builds in the LoER comp, I also need time to build all the messed up models I've been planning lately ^^ !
Wow, I actually won the LoER constest with that keg tower !
I am honestly suprised, since the other entrants has some quite brilliant designs, and realization, but well, all these sacrifices to the chaos gods must have paid off !
To celebrate, here is a group shot of all my 4 LoER entries :
And also, the new shelves I just installed in the man-cave, on must make room for the next warp wanderers !
(Yeah, one knight is missing, it is having unplanned knee surgery...)
So a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. Since I get to run the next LoER contest, that might leave me some spare time to build the two other stories I had originally planned for that keg tower...
Already mentioned this on the LoER thread, but great job KernelTerror! The four pieces you made in the last four contests look great together and made a beautiful table all on their own. And like Josh said, it would be great to play on.
KernelTerror wrote: Oh but this is ! These mortars are the proper base size and will receive a second servant in order to be heavy weapon teams.
I hope 9 of em is enough ?
Not really mortars are one of the few good r&H units and can be taken in groups of 3-6 per slot.
And believe me, go for an optimized list, field the full 18 mortars.
(also only 144 pts soooooo)
Good to know ! If I like the look of that first batch I might then go for 9 more then ! But trying bigger guns in the meantime, like basiliks or hellhounds would be fun too...
KernelTerror wrote: Good to know ! If I like the look of that first batch I might then go for 9 more then ! But trying bigger guns in the meantime, like basiliks or hellhounds would be fun too...
Heavy mortars aren't half bad, atleast from my experience with them.
They also aren't great but they do allright and their profile fits anything from a siege mortar to a fieldhowitzer. Which leaves alot of room for kit-bashing, modelling and 3rd party involevement. And in your case probably to a wierd tentacles based trebuchet
You could go 18 mortars. 9 heavy mortars and 3 Earthshaker based guns and then fill the rest up with mutants and enforcers.
KernelTerror wrote: Most probably yes ^^ ! Apparently he also had "artillery on horseback" whatever that means ^^ !
Starting to have some ideas for a very big gun....
So the schwerer gustav idea just got revived? Ohhh boi.
Now I am curious
Not exactly the gustav, but something alongside the same class of gun yes. Don't hold your breath though, I still have a bunch of component to locate, and many legs to build....
What diameter barrel do you want?
Got a plumber in my family that has plastic (well the industrial one for canalisation) pipes, i am pretty sure I could whip up some?
Oh, that is very kind of you to offer, thanks !That part however is already taken care off, the barrel will be around 5.5cm in outer diameter, and will shoot 3.5/4cm diameter shells, for which I just ordered some platic parts...
Wont be too long of a gun either, I am thinking something looking like an oversized sturmtiger gun...If it was made in the warp.

You remember my Eyechild.
Why not make one but bigger? The tentacle legs would surely not be a problem for you.
Your warbands have a lack of big spidery things
Edit: now that I think of it, i probably know what my table project is going to be
Of course, the eyechild is imho one of your best models, a giant version of it would definitely be a sight to behold.
But for this build, the plan is to go even more spiderish. For now, I started to make a leg :
The main problem is to have some kind of repeatable recipe, because I want the thing to have 20 of them. Components so far are some washers, aluminium and wooden rod, and some kind of plastic bag closing things. I have decent amount of all that. Just need one more raid to the hardware store to see whether I can find some sem circular piece to do some frontal armor and to build some claws out of plasticard...Should then be ready for painting that first prototype...
Mandibles would have been cool, but the plan is to stick to ranged weapons. Maybe it will get an axe though, but will be mostly ceremonial, or to beat the servants into loading the big gun...
All legs complete and attached to the chassis now, starting to look like something. And yes, had to remove 20 of the 40 leg pistons when I decided to attach them inside the chassis...But looks better really...
And also started working on this ships. I got it off ebay for a fair price, but it lacked several components, which I now have to build :
Wow, yur dark mech barge looks like it has way more detail and compnents than I remember it having last time. It's cool seeing your chaos spidery thing taking shape. Keep up the good work
@Syro, I have slowly been collecting and adding various plastic bits for that cruiser, and indeed, just pulled the previous WIP pictures, it did change quite a lot in a few month :
Limited progress today, but added some fins on the barge's belly, and some additionnal texture in places that will be ruined/warp-tainted :
Thanks Vejut, the first coats have been applied, more soon !
Thanks too Not Online ! Not a lot of displayable progress on the spidery thing, I have mostly been scuplting the joints between organic and mechanic parts and finding some new bits. But It will get there eventually !
Also in this painting batch, a slightly converted old demon prince :
Nice! Always wanted to goof about with BFG, but never got around to doing it before it died out. Good to see some more ships hit the table. Start of a fleet with some cruisers and such, or just some fun little guys?
Thanks Vejut ! I am building a fleet indeed ! For this painting batch I have the battleship above and the scratch built space hulk, then I still have a bunch of plastic cruisers waiting for their turns...And more scratch build ideas ^^ !
They look really good, nice shading, characterful models, and I'm a sucker for nice abs on a model. The only thing I'd suggest would be changing the color on at least the inside of the cloaks--the shapes come through very well from the shading, but the boots/bodies and the cloaks aren't quite separating from each other like they should.
Thanks a lot Vejut ! Your point on colour choices is probably very true, I might have been influenced by the fact that these are nun models, and stuck to black. I have a few more, so I'll try richer patterns next.
But back to BFG, here is my crown of oppression battleship, with its scratch built quill and bridge :
The daemon, nuns, and battleship all turned out nicely. I like the color choices for the two girls. The model for that daemon looks old school, is it from a while ago?
Thanks a lot Josh and Syro_ ! And yes Syro_, that is an old school metal demon prince, I just sculpted it a new neck to that it actually looks at its foes, and added the tail and sword.
On other news, the wife just offered be an airbrush for christmas, can't wait to try it. It will sureley alleviate a lot of the misery when basecoating builds made out of silly material or bloated with tentacles !
