The entire squad as a group

I just found your thread, and wow the work you have done is amazingly impressive! The variety and the quality of the paint jobs are spectacular.
Since I'm new, I'm not sure if you've said this already. But what models are these? I'm working on a 30k cult army and I'd love to use these as some enforcers. These models are so intimidating.

Post by: KernelTerror
Thanks a lot Freytag93, much appreciated ! These are the Lunar Auxilia, started as a 3d printing kickstarter, but are now available separately, you should look up ThatEvilOne on Myminifactory.com and you'll find the whole range as 3d printable files. There are also a couple of physical models retailers, but I do not know them directly. If you need to, you should get in touch with Doctor Danny (thread below), I think he bought them from such a licenced seller, and did a magnificient job of painting his auxilia. https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/802748.page

Great work on the girls here - love those CC heralds, super impressed by the scales on that Keeper!
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
Thanks a lot folks !
To be honest the scales were dead easy to paint with oils, with such texture it was just a matter of applying then wiping it off.
But oils are slow, so while the second keeper is drying, I prepare big guns

Yessssssssssss I love that CC keeper so much, great job. Also she's taller than I expected, and fits well on the big base - I only see her on a 60mm by herself.
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
Thans a lot Boss, that was a model I have wanted for a long time, painting her was a blast. And yeah, I wanted her on the same base as the others, so had to fill the space around the provided rocks with a bit of rubble, but it worked nicely in the end.

They are not no, the three Helmeted ones are from Heroes Infinite, while the rest of the squad are from Imperitum Art. All the weapons though are from Imperitum, even on the HI models (save from one or two plastic swords I think)

Cultist sculpts are nice, love those pointy hats / masks.

@NotOnline: Thanks ! Painting this bunch of disgusting xenos sure forced me to try new stuff ^^.
@Boss Salvage: Glad you approve. They are very fun to paint, and from the entire edge miniatures range, probably some of the less likely to impale your fingers !
Finished the other half of the cultist today:
And the entire squad:
Only a raider and a bunch of kabalites to go before the tournament, will be a tight fit, but should be doable...

So... when you say Group shot, do you mean your entire army, cause I wanna see an entire collection model shot sometime dude. You must have a monster army by now.
I really like the black cultists you painted with the bright green glowing bits. Wish Dakka had a way to reply to earlier posts (and there probably is a way but i suck at figuring stuff like that out).

I make that request all the time too, it is an absolutely massive army of custom chaos-y goodness. I think KernelTerror means the full Dark Eldar army for the tournament that was just finished. I could be wrong though.
@KernelTerror: Congratulations on finishing with time to spare! Have a great time at the tournament.
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
Thanks a lot folks !
@Sennacherib: It is planned yeah, but on this occasion I just meant the two armies. I did promise a full army shot once I complete the titan, which should happen before christmas I hope ? The last army shot is from end 2020: https://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/1085122-Army%2C%20Chaos%2C%20Conversion%2C%20Group%2C%20Titan.html How time flies...
Also, you can use the quote button to include part of a post in your reply, just edit out what you want to remove. The black skinned ones are alternates for dark eldar mandrakes though, not cultists, but true, they do look chaosy, and I definitely intent to reuse their bits in chaos models.
@NotOnline; thanks a lot ! Prince august violet ink is one of my favourite purple.
@Syro_, indeed but I have not forgotten I owe you one ^^. Progress on the titan is good, so, hopefully soon.... The issue is that the larger this army grows, the more complicated group shots are becoming to setup...
So anyway, aside from a ravager already at my pointy eared friend's house, we are ready to invade Normandy:

@Syro_, then I better hurry, Winter is coming as they say...
Allright, back from the tournament ! We had a great time, people were great, armies beautiful, beer tasty and the tables well prepared.
We did get smashed though, since have zero experience in competitive play, we ended up ranked 16/17, with two draws and two defeats.
I did however win second place in painting, so that was pretty nice, and getting first was a close call.

Post by: sennacherib
Hey man. The dark eldar skin. You said you used black oil on it. Are you using an oil wash with black oil paint and then using a Q tip with mineral spirits to remove it from the high points?
Curious. Nice work btw.
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
Hey Sennacherib !
Absolutely, the base was some acrylic dark grey, then black oil thinned just enough to apply thinly, but remain opaque.
It is then a matter of how long to wait before starting the removal. Iirc for these mandrakes it was around two hours, but my thinner does tend to dry very very slowly.
I do not necessarily use mineral spirit or thinner for removal, I usually start with just the Q tip and only add the spirit if the contrast I am getting it not satisfactory. In this case, iirc, the quality of the sculpt made it easy to remove the black from the muscles and other areas, plus the underlying area was not that vivid, so spirit was not necessary.

Awesome work, Kernel! Is it printed apart from the head? That alone is something to be proud of, let alone building, converting and painting the beastie. I also appreciate the sickly yellow and green scheme - while I think the plasma coils could probably be a different color to make them stand out, I can understand being very done with the project
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
Haha many thanks Boss !
Yeah, the body is mostly printed, but all chaos ornements were sculpted on top of it. Plus, the head and plasma coils are scratch built.
I definitely see your point on the plasma colour, is was supposed to be orange, but turned out more yellow in the end.
I'll see in a couple of weeks if I get the urge to recolor it ^^. For now I am indeed happy to call it done !

@NotOnline: for sure, but which ones ? The growths on the titan or the green things on the plague chaos pope ?

The growths on the titans legs.
I will probably require a smaller version of that for my cult.
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
Ah right, they're actually small faces, made out of a greenstuff mold build around plastic heads, mostly daemonettes. Then I applied some clay and pressed the wet mold in the target area. Then paint wide, I start from a white basecoat, then some vallejo gory red then a dry brush of flat flesh, then some gloodletter glaze. Then, depending on the desired finish, one can apply agrax earthshade and/or a light drybrush of light flesh or flat flesh. Finally, I can repick some areas with a glaze of gory red for extra goryness. Details here:

@NotOnline: Frostgrave is played on a 91cm square table, but I made my table 44 inches per side in order to be able to use it for 40k as well. Most probably I'll try to cover the entire table. After my ruined houses I have some plans for a lighthouse and a witch hut, then probably a church...

Well, game did not happen, my opponent got sick. But while he gets better I'll progress on terrain, so the game will only be better.
Got some woodwork, stones and floors done yesterday. Now to add texture to the rest of the walls...
119289
Post by: Not Online!!!
You are knocking out a lot of well built terrain out.
Further it's also always interesting to see terrain builds. I recon you will add in some stones around the windows that you marked?
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
Thanks NotOnline !
There will be stones around the windows indeed, but they are already in place. The kind of foam I am using reacts well to ball pens, so the external marking is already there, and should slightly constrict. This is the technique I used on my earlier tower. Inside the window holes, I used a sculpting tool, but the shape is already there.
Also painted a lizard dude:

Basement would have been a good idea indeed, but no these are to be filled with water effect resin, I have yet to experiment with that I will use to color that resin.
When thinking about the table I did think about leaving holes in it where I could put terrain that would have included subterranean elements though...Maybe when I build an extension to said table....

Looks very promising kernel. Cardboard rooftiles is something i am surprised by? Are you intending to thicken them up a bit ?
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
Thanks NotOnline ! Well, I've seen Thumpingbear use cardboard rooftile, and since he is an authority on mordheim terrain, I'm not too worried. He did texture and cut them properly though, which I did not, but I'll hopefully fix this with dirty painting....

There are so many demon models of awesome quality that I have probably collected way to many of them, even if I was to get serious on a Chaos demons army. But on another hand they are fast to paint, so when I have some space left on a print plate, I often fill it with demons. But these last days, It was mostly Emperor's children, as I am thinking of joining another team tournament... I needed standard bearers and a second powerfist champion A chaos spawn The best bladesman in the galaxy. And also an elf. A sonic obliterator And finally, a discolord ! Yes, I gave him a lyre and a toga. No, I am not sorry.

Finished these ladies today:
As well as some lantern ghosts for the descent:
But I indeed also primed today, so the prints from above should now be more readable indeed !

Those ladies look really cool! I love the patterns on their leg armor/wings? They look so bizarrely insectoid. The lantern guys also came out great and I'm really looking forward to seeing those chaos legionnaires painted up.

Post by: KernelTerror
Thanks a lot Warboss ! I think that they are armored dresses, nice surfaces for freehand.
And yeah, quite happy with these new slaanesh legionnaires, should be fun to paint !
More progress soon !

Also Simic obliterators should totally be a thing..

Post by: KernelTerror
Hehe thanks a lot NotOnline !
I suspect that this Obliterator got designed in the 8th edition, when double shooting slaanesh stratagem made slaanesh oblits quite tasty. Still, yeah, both cults merge quite nicely.
More heresy today, with Magna, primarchess of the thousand sons !

Magna looks great, nice work on her skin in particular. Don't you have Fulgrima too?
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
Thanks a lot Boss ! The skin was painted bright orange then washed with a red Lefranc Bourgeois oil paint.
And I do also have a Fulgrima yes, she is in the post above ^^.
The size difference was intended by the creator in order to respect the lore.

Post by: KernelTerror
Finally, 2 month after cancelling our first game, we managed to find an afternoon without kids to brew a nice beer, and play some frostgrave ! Both of us had brought terrain, and the village looked brilliant : Deployed my demonist warband in the ruins, with a 40k deployment to avoid line of sight... While my opponent went for something a bit more reasonnable First turn went rather unevently with both side failing their telekinetics, but I still managed to leap my demon wolf on a suicide mission close to the ennemy: Second turn started with pints of pure petrol, and my opponent getting his shooters on higher ground, allowing them to be annoyances for the rest of the game Then his treasure hunter and one of his thieves started closing on the wolf, while his apprentice trapped him with a rune. On the other flank, my archer "Liv Arrow" got herself a line of sight on the ennemy wizard, but failed her shooting, while a thieve bravely started crossing the bridge to the center tower and its crate. On the following turn the ennemy wizard however managed to cast Push on the thieve on the bridge. The poor thing was pushed into the air, before falling to her death and transforming in a small puddle of red (which I promised to paint on the board). Following this, I however managed to telekinesis one of the ennemy crates towards my side, forcing their goons to run after it, while the rest of them finished butchering my dog. I got it coming by fielding an unpainted model though. In return, my apprentice however managed to cast a dreadful elemental bolt, breaking the skull of the ennemy apprenting with a rock solid wheel of cheese (Emmental Bolt). Battle continued on the other flank, with my daring archer getting shot to death in return. My opponent's offense was starting to becoming of concern, between accurately placed explosive runes and silly feather debuffs. We therefore bravely decided to cut our losses and run with at least the two crates in my half of the table, that were already beeing carried by a thug and a thieve. I however achieved one last evil deed, by telekineseizing the central crate just near to my infantrywoman Josée aux Moines. My opponent was not letting this happen and immediately sent an infantryman of his own to slay her. She was, however, having none of it, and crushed her poor opponent's skull with a magnificient 20. The ennemy wizard was however on her heels, so a brave man at arms tried to engage him, disregarding a rune nearby. Unluckily the poor bastard was burned to dust by the rune. Eventually, my sorceror leaped Josée aux moines on the edge of the table, securing a first crate. On the other flank, the treasure hunter Jance de Bretagne was trying to recapture the crate carried by one of my thieve. It was however also escorted by my demon hunter Devil May Brie, and the two of them eventually murdered the treasure hunter. At the same time, they heard the screams of my apprentice being gutted by an ennemy thieve. The game was almost done, but at the last minute, my opponent summoned a gigantic book to close the exit of the last contested crate, giving time to his goons to position around my already wounded thieve and demon hunter. Things looked grim but by chance, my wizard had a line of sight to this giant magic book, and immediately dispelled it ! The ennemy wizard responded by placing an exploding rune next to my thieve. She of course ignored it and blew herself to death, dropping the treasure, and letting my demon hunter grab it and exit the map safely. The game therefore ended on a 3-2 in my favour, while the battle was largely dominated by my opponent, in particular though his better placement of shooters, and his bloody runes. Thankfully, the dark gods favoured me enough to grant me with brilliant rolls when I needed them... I however completely blundered my post game rolls, with two of my specialists dying, and very limited gains in the treasures. At least things will remain balanced for the next game. In any case this was a brilliant afternoon, there is no doubts that these two warbands will face again ! Automatically Appended Next Post: Also, just finished this jackass

That lucius creeps me out!
Also those deldar swords, how did you achieve that?
306
Post by: Boss Salvage
That's a great Lucius, so much more dynamic and convincingly weird than the Citadel sculpt. Love the face off with Drazz
120526
Post by: ShadowsAndDust
That Lucius is a great looking mini. You could work for GW!
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
Thanks a lot my friends, yeah, this 3d print of Lucius is indeed a very welcome update. Hopefully GW will upgrade it with a new codex someday ? But @ShadowsAndDust I can't take any credit on the sculpt itsself, for once I did not do any conversion and printed it as is (well I did scale it up a bit).
@NotOnline: Much appreciated ! These swords were painted white, then a first glaze of vallejo yellow fluo, followed by a white dry brush, second glaze of yellow, then a final, more thoughfull whit dry brush. Finally, I glazed with green fluo around the rune. What runes ? Well, the pictures is unfortunately severly overexposed, here is a second one on a white background, that look pretty dull
In real life, the swords still are pretty vivid, with their real look somewhere between both pictures ^^.
Also finished my lord discordant today, but the upload seem to fail for him, I'll post tomorrow.

Some things are hard to capture on camera! They look great though.
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
Very true Gwyn chan'r Gwyll, and thanks a lot ! I have a not sooo bad photo setup, but since I got addicted to fluo paints and white skinned demons, it shows its limits. The grey background helps, but I think I need to be able to push the lighting even further away.
Anyway, here is my Lord Discordant :
And also spoilered because of gore, some wracks for my pointy eared ally !
120526
Post by: ShadowsAndDust
I really like your disco lord. For my photos I use a lightbox with a white background. I've found that with my camera's built in white balance feature, it automatically underexposes my photos and then I have to go into Photoshop and up the brightness to fix it.
119289
Post by: Not Online!!!
Very good job Kernel.
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
Many thanks my friends !
@ShadowsAndDust, I have 3 backgrounds, but I mostly use the grey one, as indeed the white messes with the balance. Maybe I need to find a clearer grey to have better results with the fluos...
Anyway, finished some spawns today !

Those are disgusting!! And greatly executed, actually I think they are inspiring me to do something similar for my chaos army.

Thanks a lot Muette ! Spawns are really fun to build, hope you have a blast too.
Allright, so with these last models, my thousant points of EC are ready to head out to a team tournament. Last time we were second to last, so it is almost impossible not to progress right ?

Good luck at the tournament! Lads certainly look great at least
On the spawn, did you kitbash those together? Or are they set sculpts? Great look, and nice size too.
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
Thanks a lot Boss !
The spawns are based on the infected by nocturna models, but scaled up between 200 and 150%, while keeping the claws at regular side. I also greenstuffed the top maw, and added the heads, mostly from Yagasan's emperor children heads, gain upscaled to roughly 2cm height.

What your EC really need are some Slaanesh babes.

Good luck in the tournament
Does the tournament have any voting for armies with great conversion work, theme, and painting?
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
Many thanks my friends ! Well we had a brilliant time, but still ended up second to last, mainly due to being tabled in our first two games. We had absolutely no answer against Astra militarum or tau firepower, and paid dearly for our mistakes. The two other games were much closer, and pretty back and forth. We were in particular pretty happy with how we improved on deployment and on the management of secondaries. In any case great opponents, and lots of fun over the weekend.
@ShadowsAndDust: Well some of my noise marines are actually ladies. But I do have plans to reinforce my demons in order to get something playable...
@NotOnline: Much appreciated, yeah, I love how the shape of the head still reminds of something that might have, at some point, been human...
@Roknar: Well, such tournaments are quite the motivator to get some stuff painted in due time. But do not worry, I also have quite the physical and digital pile of shame...
@Syro_: There was indeed a painting prize with a jury, but it was not for me this time. Seeing the army of the winner however, this was absolutely deserved, as it was professional high grade painting. I do feel that I would stand more of a chance on conversion or oddness voting, but that is not something I often saw.
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
Alright, shaming time.
I normally print/assemble/convert a limited set of model, then paint the whole set entirely before I move on to new models, limiting the backlog.
But Have I direspected this ! Since july I have moved projects on top of the backlog, to attend tournaments, get into bloodbowl, then frostgrave, or just to make gifts.
But now all of this seems clear, time to get back on track !
116601
Post by: Syro_
It happens to all of us. Also I'm intrigued. Do I see some Battle Fleet Gothic ships in that first picture?
95538

Indeed, picture 1 has some BFG chaos ships, three slaughters, a styx and a repulsive, I have a couple of light cruiser not far. And there are also some parts of Fulgrim's gloriana, but I have not finished printing it either.
Picture 4 has some BFG as well, with some mechanicus escorts and light cruiser, plus a gloriana based on the Eye of Night

Wow, 10 days since my last update !
I have not been idle though, but mostly assembling/gapfilling all the above pile of shame, a lot of progress was made.
There is still a bunch to go, and two scratch build that I want to complete in the near future.
Still, decided to treat myself and paint a few characters to avoid getting even more hooked on cyanoacrylate glue an greenstuff:
Some more frostgrave characters for my warband
Some evil knights
And finally Loragara and a loyalist scum

Post by: Leopold Helveine
The spiderlady reminds me of Diablo III for some reason, and also somewhat of both Dark souls and Sacred II (been ages since I've placed any of those games though, not really a digital-gamer anymore, so might be remembering things wrong..)
Its a really nice sculpt and the soft pink fits awesomely with the minimalistic grey base (nice texture btw!)
As for those mechanical serpentine "legs" underneath your latest share.. the texture on those things are brilliantly adding to the theme.
You've got some great imagination.
-Leopold Helveine.
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
Very kind of you to say Leopold Helveine ! Since the spider was indeed already marked with chaos symbols, I went with a devilish/fiery color scheme that could indeed match a diablo !
Can't take the credit for the tentacle texture though, the model is a 3d print that I barely changed. I only replaced some of the upper limbs, and the horns.

The plague marines look amazingly done.
I do have a question in regards to terrain. If you'd want to make a decent fortress wall, would you go with sytrodure plates gauze aswell?
For reference atleast big enough that a sentinel can stand on it.

Post by: KernelTerror
Thanks a lot friends ! @NotOnline: You mean the kind of insulation foam I used for the frostgrave board ? (e.g. https://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/1155472-.html ) Yeah, if the structure is balanced, no worries to put vehicles on it. The main issue is that is melts in contact with rattlecan paints, so I ended up covering them in plaster before paint (well, for texture as well)...Adding to the hardness, but also weight of the whole thing. But yeah, that is an excellent (and light) base material for buildings. The reason I am not using it in my current build is that I want to emulate the tournament terrain we faced last year, and their walls are pretty thin. Since I am already gluing an unreasonable amount of random bits to it, and fattening the end result in the process, I chose cardboard over insulation foam this time. unrelated edit: ahahah saw your new signature. Yeah, pretty gutted too about not starting a dreadclaw project...

In regards to my signature... honestly i feel like the old school customize and experiment chaos that many old dogs are so fond of, is slowly ripped out and sanitised. It's just not chaos anymore, neither from a rules, representation or model perspective. Atleast with the HH ruleset you got a reason to kitbash a praetor or consul on a bike or give him a jumppack.
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
I should indeed give a try to HH, looks pretty dope ! Plus, I already have three primarchs...
Still, despite the loss of many engines, I'm still pretty curious about 10th...We'll see...

THE COLORSSSSS
Whacky Slaanesh times are whacky and gloriously bright
Speaking of, you know about this KS for Slaanesh daemon sculpts? http://kck.st/3WI3YiH Ironically I almost didn't back it because of the boob design ( ) but ended up going in because of the armor design and more sci-fi mix of flesh + metal that you don't often get with Slaanesh daemons. Plus some of the daemonettes remind me strongly of Diaz's work, which is obviously the one true way.
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
Thanks a lot Boss !
I indeed have already backed the demon damzels ^^ ! I do already have a lot of slaanesh models, but I really liked their centaur cavalry, as well as the chariots with the back flag/spoilers. Plus, there is a clothed version of their keeper, which might be a good idea for tournaments... And of course, the Diaz style finished convincing me.
Thanks for the info nonetheless !
306
Post by: Boss Salvage
I'm a little mixed on the centaurs? They seem especially soft to me, probably because of the unarmored legs. I dig the alternate chariot spoiler (SPIKES) and am all in on the princess, who I guess is like the raddest soul grinder ever?
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
Heheh I see but they are cat demon centaurs, 9 lives, so they do not need armor ! And much agreed on the soulgrinder, might actually be more viable than the seekers in 10th... Edit on seekers: although, they are rather cheap, might be some use for them...

Buildings are coming along nicely and- as a connoisseur of interesting plastic bits- you've got some very unusual bits amongst your mélange!
119289
Post by: Not Online!!!
That looks very promising indeed.
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
Many thanks friends !
@Meercat: Yeah, I have been collecting bits for year, fantasizing about building a table, and am finally jumping the gun. The buildings above have parts of a hubcap, windshield wipers, a dishwasher, a carbon monoxide detector, a printer, a power sander, a beer keg, an hair dryer, a computer case, and a toilet flush.
This is also the opportunity to sort out and throw away a lot of unusable stuff tbh...
Meanwhile, I have finally found models I'd be happy to use as accursed cultists.
The big ones are coming as well, but still need to be glued to their bases...
106010
Post by: Meer_Cat
Nooooo! No throwing away of anything! Once touched a piece of plastic is forever!
As I recover from the latest disaster in the apartment, I'm also going through my many shoeboxes of 'treasures' and thinning the herd a bit.
A truly impressive list of found bits properly employed, and it shows, the terrain is going to be great.
I am amazed at how many items from the plumbing repair section of my hardware store lend themselves to futuristic buildings and 'machines'.
Rock on!
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
AHahah that is truly an heartbreaking process yeah, I did keep that one printer bit that would make a brilliant transport ramp large enough for leman russes, or that oval shaped thing that would make a 50cm long raider for vect...But place had to be made. And yeah, plumbing stuff is pretty awesome for industrial machines. Dismantling that old dishwasher years ago was opening a treasure trove. I just needed the pump, kept so much more !
116601
Post by: Syro_
It's cool seeing all those little treasures becoming that nice terrain. I've trying to pare down my collection of random plastic bits stolen from the recycling bin and broken objects too. I'm trying to keep them condensed enough to fit in the large cardboard box that I store them in... the the entire drawer of my desk that I keep them in... oh yeah and some of the drawers in that organizer. Problem is, I keep finding containers of them in other places too
95538
Post by: KernelTerror
Thanks a lot Syro !
Yeah, I regularly have to rationalize storage of such bits. Like, Ok, I'm not going to store any plastic bits ouside of this box. And the one there for bigger ones. And this box is for stuff I'll use in this project I'll definitely start next month....
Aaaaanyway, finished my keeper lord of secrchange or whatever, just in time for the 100th painting competition :

That does explain this strange urge to work on my chaos armies

Haha brilliant Syro_, in this case I regret nothing.
Started to work on some possessed today:
Also, I only wanted to build a single major demon these days, but then the printer disagreed:

It's good that your greater daemons won't feel lonely. Plenty of friends

That's right, but on another hand, they also tend to pick fights with each other all the time. I need to feed them some eldars...
Meanwhile, plaster has been applied to the buildings, and they are ready for priming:

Nice collection of bits on your buildings Kernel, they're gonna turn out nicely.
Also wanted to say how much I like the Kill Team Slaanesh marines, especially their eyes. There's a piece of art by Adrien Smith that depicts Daemonettes with horrible black eyes, your marines have the same creepy look. Very scary, well done!

Thanks a lot Thumpingbear !
The big round eyes are indeed inspired by Adrian Smith art, most precisely these ones:
And this is a look I'll keep trying to emulate with my ongoing possessed unit, for the faces, the bare belly, and the claw like shoulder pieces.

Ah right, I totally forgot about his Marine works too. Man, Smith does Slaanesh really well, just repulsive. Nice job replicating the look!

That he does. And interestingly, I hear that this marine did an appearance in an Hammer and Bolter episode. One could hope that they are teasing the look of the EC codex...
Meanwhile, the whole squad is assembled and ready to prime, as well as a Master of Possession:

Many thanks Boss !
Well it would have helped if I had taken pics of just the zenithal, unfortunately I went straight ahead with slaaneshy goofyness. Might be more readable than the unpainted ones though:
Also painted some xenos
And printed some more

So kernel went ahead and removed every chain from the wings... That is pretty impressive.

Hehe none of the Above, it is a 3d print, with indeed a face that reminds of the original model. It did have chains yeah, but I did not really like the look of them, so never glued them in the end.

So, i wasn't insane. It wasn't the OG Bel'akor. And here i thought i lost my eye for the details. By the by since you 3d print to an insane high quality, i wanted to ask, do you also design things on your own?

Post by: KernelTerror
Ahaha I thought about it, but I already spend my work days on a computer, so I'd rather spend hobby time with a brush or sculpting knife. I did do some basic kitbashes though, to merge two objects cleanly, or cut parts of an existing model.

That warclub
Imagine beeing a top of the line genemodified soldier and armored in one of the most modern suits of armor... only to get a squater in your body where your soul was supposed to be which he evicted only to degenerate into using a medieval weapon once again.
 pinacle of chaos.
Great job on all of them kernel.
