Wrongfully so you mean. Companies pay good money for IP protection, there's a lot of funds channeled through to sustain artists and staff in general. Not to mention taxes. It's not a single company out there paying for these things by the way, even smaller legit companies care and have to protect their IP.

Then perhaps artists shouldn't have allowed corporations to take control of the narrative over IP and use lobbying to vastly expand the concept beyond its original and reasonable intentions to the point that they feel obligated to defend the idea you can own "lady in a high collared dress with an eagle motif" or "big guy in armour with a tech-club" or "bald man in a trenchcoat with a staff". And perhaps also they'd be better served trying to kick off such discussions elsewhere.

We can take this in private if you like, otherwise it will derail this thread.
We`re just did test printing of him at holidays, it was good. Just one trouble: printing of prototype with quality we need will be cost about 3500USD to us (without casting itself) , so now we thinking how to do it painless enough

Is that the cost for someone else to do the printing or was that the cost for materials in-house? Quality does cost a bit more but $3500 seems ridiculously high. That would be basically the cost for something using 11,000 Liters of uv curable resin. Let me know if you need a better quote. ^_^

We`re using 3D-printers with resolution of 15 microns or better for our prototypes to hit the quality we need and, obviously, we can`t afford such machine for themselves, so we need to pay someone for it. And that`s how much it costs. And remember, that it will be quite massive bust, multipart, with tons of details.
Wow those Bonshees look great! I and a few others I've turned on to your shop have been very pleased with the products.
Just have to say you are doing a great Job over there and Keep it up!

I would be curious what printers you have done your samples, as well as production, runs with because I am not sure why you think you need 15 microns for the quality and detail. The larger the piece, the actually fewer microns you need. When dealing with SLA/DLP printers microns are a bit different when compared to their FDM/FFF cousins because of how they obtain their layers and due to the z-resolution. To see the difference between a SLA/DLP 40-micron print and a 15-micron print requires a jewelers loupe, it is barely visible to the human eye and in almost all cases gets completely lost in the casting.
That said, there is definitely a big difference between someone doing a print on a $1000 printer vs $3500 but that is due to the software, not the printer and anti-alias. Once you get into $30K-$150K printer range you really don't see an improvement in details. For example, a 25XY/10Z resolution print ($3500 printer) is the same as 50XY/25Z resolution print ($30K printer) and almost identical a 42XY/25Z resolution ($150K). The only way to tell a difference is with a jewelers loupe. The only thing you get for the increased price is larger printer build area with DLP (because higher resolution means smaller build area), better software which gives overall better results and a wider selection of material choices from higher temperature resin, castable resin for investment casting, detailed resin, ABS, nylon, dental, etc. The DLP printers print layer by layer, instead of using a laser like SLA. SLA even with a laser that does 15-micron print, still is using a 70-140 micron circle laser so for quality and detail DLP wins.
Either way, I own as well as have access to multiple printers and ranges from different manufacturers which includes the $1000-$150K range which is how I am able to compare. We also looked at some higher priced printers but after a certain dollar amount, you don't get better detail, you get more features which doesn't translate into better details.
It is possible that something may cost that much but it sounds more like you were over-quoted based on experience. I used to out-source my 3D masters, originally thinking it had to be done on a $250,000 printer until I did about an 8-month research product into the multiple ones both commercial and hobby-based. It would cost me about $250 for a 3d master depending on where I got it and how big (generally 32mm). Once I started doing 20 or so instead of 1 here and there, that process became expensive for using literally only $1-2 of resin. A 1/8th scale resin sculpts uses on average about 750-1000ml of resin which comes to about $150 of cost. When I quote my quotes are transparent, you see exactly what you pay for traditionally it is material cost x3, labor cost x2 and a setup. I don't try to pretend it is a very expensive process but don't get me wrong resin compared to FDM printing is expensive, it is just those costs don't translate across and are really apples and oranges. I also can provide insight different manufacturers for printers to help find ones that suit the needs of the user.
But don't take my word for it, like I said be happy to do some samples for you. You can also wait until I do a series of posts outlining the pros/cons of the various hobbyist to commercial grade SLA/DLP printers, along with pictures of our control print from professional grade $250K printer compared to same model down the various lines. Although honestly, photos do not do them justice.
I don't quite take as good as pictures as these, but this does give a good baseline and these aren't printed at the highest resolution:

Dark Severance's GOT and Max Max miniature lines confirmed! (also Half Life 3).
If you do create a separate thread comparing those printers, please post a link here as I'm sure it would be an interesting read on dakka for prospective hobby manufacturers.

I'll be happy to help out. It may not work out for your benefit but chances are it probably will. At the very least it doesn't hurt to at least give it a try, like I said we have multiple printers so one will most likely meet the needs. I get to help someone out as well as educate others so it ends up a win/win.

LOL! Um... no. I wish but I tend to shy away from getting involved with existing IPs. Existing IPs into games work great for funs, not so much for the designer and publisher. Lord of Rings Deckbuilding as an example wanted very specific cards and things to happen... which honestly made the game not fun but was required to be in because they wanted it for the theme. There are also other delays in getting approvals or even after an approval is given, having it revoked after you've already produced a run. The most involvement I would have with an existing IP would be printing prototypes, printing masters for them or some production involvement of some sort.
The examples are not my designs and I didn't print those. I can vouch that the printer definitely does that quality though. Those particular prints is testing a new matte gray resin which I plan to switch too and they did use one of the printers at our disposal. I would consider that printer a higher end hobbyist printer but low end commercial/professional printer just based on cost alone, not because of quality or capabilities. But like I said going from a printer like that to a $200K printer, you don't get very much visible difference for your dollars ... not unless you are using a microscope or jewelers loupe to inspect it with.
I love you, do you need me to do anything for you to continue the love? I'll make your bed, i'll make dinner, just keep making models please! i'll even get up at 5am and call you to give you a positive wake up call each day!

Well, o;k! that's easy to do i'll hold back on the wake up calls and things for now
I don't suppose you'd be willing to spoil it and tell us a bit about equipment, options and so on?
Something like that
I guess a picture is okay as well.
While you're in the sharing mood: I don't suppose you have any plans for accompanying cyber constructs like dog or eagle?
Like this one?
Should have the option for a canine skull (with one or two bionic eye(s)) to replace the Robodog head (not the underjaw).
That dog seems far too Orky in appearance for an imperial construction, particularly compared to the other Arbites cyber-mastiffs out there. And it's not just the jaw, it's also in the body mass. (As always, just IMHO.)
Perhaps a "sci-fi" version of something like the photo below would be more suitable? Note the much thinner frame - just for comparison...
The newer Enforcer's shotgun looks much nicer, and the studded shoulder guard helps make him look like less of a Marine Scout which is good. The dog still looks strange, the cylon eye doesn't suit it well.
The large scale models look incredible though, great job!
though is she not gripping the sword in the daemon?
Good to bring up but most likely still a WIP. Normally the sculptor will do the details, gripping weapons and the like in the final steps after the rest of the process is done. I believe this is in case they decide to repose or change weapons. Then once the pose and sculpt is finalized, the sculptor will finish up grips and other final details.
The Enforcer and the inquisitor is fantastic. Here are my two cents:
1. The demon head is cool... but can the model be made so that it can be built without the head? (Yes I realize it would have to be replaced by a tactical rock.)
2. By itself the robo dog is really cool looking. However... it just doesn't feel like it belongs in the "Grim Dark". It looks like something out of the Jetsons or something. Really cartoony looking. As someone else pointed out it looks more Orky than Imperial.
The dog just needs more riviets and hard edges tbh to feel "40k". Armour plates should come off into hard edges like armour. Everything from knights to space marines follow that idea.
But tbh instead of a robot dog the more 40k thing would be a dog turned into a servitor or a human turned into a dog shaped servitor.
1. Adjust the head so that either the top half is much bigger, or the lower jaw is smaller. Part of the problem for me is that the upper part of the skull looks far too small for the rest of it.
2. Get rid of the pointless tail stub.
I'd honestly prefer a sleeker design for the dog- more like a rottweiler than a bulldog. Somewhere between the (IMO too sleek) old citadel cyber-mastiff, and the one that you guys have.
I like the inquisitor, and her bird friend. Any plans to sell the bird separately? And beyond the dog will there be any more grimdark pets? I need some animal companions!
Tadadaaaaam!
We`re just started preorder for the two new minis at artelw.com It`s a first miniatures from new range of characters, Grim Gothic, which made in collaboration with another studio: CFStudio.
Check this out - Jack "Captain Blood" Meinhardt and Jessica "Steel Neck" Bruder!
Yeah honestly cant wait. the 3 dow 3 character pack finally made it to the USA and now need to make a cross country treck :/ cant wait to see the quality.

Yes, there is trouble with sign in procedure now, techinacal support working on it. You can PM me here or at Facebook with order`s details and I`ll give you all the info.

Until Arbites get rules, I see 5 space marine scouts with bolters and a heavy bolter.
One thing about your Enforcers; I’m confused as to how their cuffs are supposed to work? It looks like you have the chain connected to the hoop rather than the locking block?
They are gorgeous man - really beautiful work. How do you plan on selling them? As pictured here or with swappable arms/weapons so you can do all shotguns or all bolters?
The former dog is much better. The head rocks. The bulk is cool, too. It might need a few more "Imperial" surface detailing as well as some aquillas. And rectangular spikes on the paws.
Really thrilled about the Adeptus Arbites team!
Will probably order 4-5 sets.
The only thing I would like to change on the sculpts is having a few of them not having the finger on the trigger...
I.e. something like this:
Makes them look more professional (one of the Astra Militarum Scions are sculpted like that and it looks ace).
Got my two Chasteners yesterday - and both sculpt and size are really good.
Nitpicking:
The helmeted head was really small - so I replaced it with a original AA helmet (which I had drilled out and put another face into).
Arms are a bit slim considering the bulky armour they are supposed to be clad in.
Also, both the shotgun and the right shoulderpad are a bit smallish. On the original AA the right shoulder pad is covering another, smaller pad (same size as the one on the left shoulder).
The helmeted head was really small - so I replaced it with a original AA helmet (which I had drilled out and put another face into).
That will definitely be an issue with this new squad as well. The heads look pretty small in these big pictures already, and being a 30mm tall miniature will accentuate the effect considerable.

Yeah, the heads and arms tend to be slightly small, because they are scaled more to human proportions than heroic like GW models. They fit in better alongside say Elysians or DKoK models, which are more human proportioned as well.

As close to 100% of the Artel W Arbites sold will be used in GW games not featuring Elysians/DKoK I would recommend Artel using "normal" GW proportions (not extremes such as FW or Cadian - but mimicking the new Necromundians and the original AA).
For me, the only thing stopping me from buying the whole Artel line is the minis being smallish (apart from the Chastener). I especially dont want my heroes (such as Inquisitors) looking puny next to the normal troopers...

Those heads are small even compared to Elysians or DKoK.
And not so pleasant news, I`m afraid. We`re expecting a significant loss of our assortment in the nearest future - in a week or so, and it will be permanent. Many new miniatures are coming, but MANY of old ones will be removed forever, sorry. So, if you want something - take it now or never.
In the comments it has been confirmed that this concerns most if not all of the 40k models.
Also, this image was attached to the post, teaser:

Sorry, guys, I will be laconic, as there is MUCH to do today. That`s the list of what will be cancelled:
Gregor, Captive, Gideon, Chapter master, Warseer, Kiborc, Bone Banshee, Chastener, Heroic Commissar for sure. Boneshees - highly possible.

Only found out about you guys recently and have been looking at an order for about 2 weeks. Best to grab them from eBay store?
That's unfortunate. Your 40k minis are really mountains ahead of the GW's ones. I can't buy anything right now, otherwise i would purchase all of them , keep up the good work.
BTW, is this decision motivated for certain english bully company?
To be fair, I don't think we can reasonably call GW a bully in this case. I'm going to buy some of Artel's models myself, but we all know that they're unlicensed models of GW characters/IP. This one isn't like trying to claim copyright on Arrows, Halberd and Roman Numerals.

It`s not about bullying, the do what they should - it`s company`s resposibility to protect it`s IP. you can`t blame `em for that. We totally don`t. It was expected, sooner or later, so... time to move on
gak! I just bought a whole bunch of them on eBay. Thought you guys logged off after waiting a couple of hours for a reply. Now I see a discount and free shipping on your own webstore. I could have saved US$30 there.
Damn, it's even more since the eBay prices are higher.
Are you aware that your shop doesn’t clear the basket when you check out? I just bought a bunch of stuff and it’s still there waiting as though it wasn’t…
To be clear I got my order confirmation emails etc. It’s just kinda unusual.

Same here. I've had a Paypal confirmation email, but no other sort of confirmation email. Should I be expecting a different one from Artel?
Yes, I had one email saying order received, awaiting payment and one saying payment received right after my PayPal went through.
I would contact them with your order # and ask if everything went through alright.
Ok, here is the news. First of all - THANK YOU VERY MUCH for all your support!!! That was so inspiring - all that wave of kind words... and orders. Many orders. MUCH MANY of orders. We`re underestimated you passion for this minis - again. So.... ALL ORDERS WILL BE DELIEVERD, NO MATTER WHAT. Cross my heart and I`ll be damned! But, it takes some time, so there will be some delays - it could take about month or even more to process all that minis.
Next - miniatures will be removed from the stores at midnight, Moscow time (GMT+3). Sad, but - that`s the life. To bitter this pill a bit we will giving away a dozen or two of our miniatures tomorrow We can`t sell it anymore - but we can give it for free! All followers of our FB page have a chance to win, so if you don`t "like" us yet - it`s about time.
And, finally, from Jay_from_W personally: If I was promising something to you - remind it to me at the NEXT WEEK please, I have a BIG PILE of work this days, and my mind is nothing, but a black hole now, so I can forget anything (what is my name, I said?). Literally.
Thanks for coming out with much wanted yet ignored minis in the first place. You have some very nice sculpts and talented people working there. I hope to get my order soon and can't wait to see what you've got coming up next!

Yes, GG series will stay and will grow.
At least that is good news! I'm glad you are able to continue on. I know I got an order in for the Inquisitorial crew while I was able, and am looking forward to getting them.
That's terrible. I've been in love with the "Boneshee" design since the DoW3 trailer, and I'd thought that these miniatures were going to be the only good thing to come out of DoW3. But I waited too long. What an absolute shame.
There's always the secondary market. I'm sure there will be scalpers initially but eventually someone will part with a squad or fig for a reasonable price.

I don't think he was and I'll hopefully be getting it too. Cherabuel is the bound daemon, right? There was the male inquisitor, female psyker, male interrogator, an adept, and arbiter iirc.
Artel, any word on orders placed just after the discontinuation annoucement? I paid but I haven't gotten any shipping notice in the over two weeks since. I realize you're probably very busy but I was just wondering if you're sending out confirmation and/or shipping emails or if the package just shows up instead.

Etsy and Ebay also sending the notice of dispatching when I`ll add the tracking number to the sistem. Also, I must mention again, taht spme delays are highly possible for the orders, made after the January`s 28th, but ALL orders will be fullfilled.

Hey guys, I finally got to paint two of my Artel models up the other day! I love the quality and the character they have on every inch of them, nothing has been missed from flow of clothing to the design of weapons and poses to reflect the model, it's all just so good! I painted the Kiborc and a Boneshee. I am going to search hell and highwater to find a full squad even if I need to sell my house! thought you might like to see some painted?
Thanks for producing such amazing models and excellent service! I'll be certainly buying more......many more things from you
The best thing is, the kits already come prewashed with water, so you can fire away with your paints when you get the model and cut the parts ready to assemble. I was surprised, as i primed the kit and forgot to wash it first because thats normally what i do with resin kits. The paint directly sticks like it should and so i could begin painting...
Thats the kind of service normally all should provide to their customers....its a shame that the big G put down the hammer on this company...will support their miniature range they now have left ;-)
Here is a pic of my Warseer. along some other Eldar models, it's a bit more slim than Gw ones, but looks good enough if not more realistic (for Eldar bodies at least)
warboss wrote: Very nice! Could you post size comparisons with GW minis assuming you own equivalents? Those might be helpful for folks.
Probably safer for them if customers do that sort of thing.
As for the Policeman, any chance of an (optional?) small shield, maybe with a logo on it, maybe like a european eagle motif that we could add to them somewhere? You could just add it to the sprue, and we could then glue it down anywhere. I'd probably put mine on the left breastplate...
Thank you for doing my job, friend Some more to cheer you up guys:
Very early WIP of some officer for our recently orphaned Aide. He is Major, by the way.
We`re thinking about something like this for him, his Colonel and, let`s hope, his Commissar as well.
MIssed delivery of my stuff last week because they tried dropping off a package requiring a signature on week day, picked it up form the post office yesterday and I'm very impressed. Very little flash or mold slippage requiring clean up. Cool little presentation box too, wrapped in brown paper and string with a wax seal.
Some new WIPs will be there later today, but now I want to ask you something. I`m totally understanding, that you want to know when you`ll recieve your orders, as well as waiting are too long, sorry for that. But - yesterday I spent almost 5 hours answering the same requests: how long, why is so long, can you update and etc. So, again: all orders will be fulfilled, but it taking some time, especially if there was Chastener or Warseer in your order. And no, usually I can`t be more precise - too many orders for the prediction. We`re sending about 200-300 minis every week - and I`m sending tracking numbers to the customers, usually in 3-4 days after the actual dispatching. Please, be patient, we`ll back to normal schedule in two months. Until then - delays not only possible, it will be for sure. Sorry again.
Though - if you have urgent need, don`t hesitate to contact me. If you need your order for competition or tournament, or something like that - tell me about it ASAP, I`m not promising, but I`ll try to make something with priority lists. I really can`t do anything, when you tell me, that you need minis in two weeks, but I probably can if it`s month.
I am not in a rush, as long as the minis end up arriving . It's just that the information given is... scant, so people gets antsy because they don't know what's happening.
As mentioned, they're hella busy, I got a notice as well, but as was mentioned these are given out a few days past the actual shipping of the orders. My order was posted on the 24th last month, so it's slowly getting here.
But them being busy is a good thing, shows that people really do want their stuff, always a good incentive for companies.
Just submitted tarcking numbers for almost 400 miniatures Ok, some fresh WIPs! The ALMOST final look for the member of Law Enforcement Unit and his best friend.

Thank you again, my friend Ok, here is the WIPs I promised: ALMOSt final variants for the LEU`s Officer and his best friend
And bonus: some early WIP for the next Grim Gothic mini:
The dog is the only one I'm not feeling. Seems a little too...robot, and not enough dog. I have to agree it needs a more identifiable snout/ears, etc...something. I can't really explain why, just doesn't work for me that well.

I agree with Elbows here, and i'm not complaining about the quality of any of 'W' miniatures designs at all, but for me the dog looks too bulky and heavy for what i'd imagine those enforcers would utilize in the field, plus I think a more defined muzzle and ears would make it much more easily accepted. Keep up the great work though guys! looking forward to seeing how he finishes up

I really hope they will be ”Chastener scale” (i.e. taller/bigger than most of the old AW line) - in which case I will buy multiple packs...
Although if they are too small I will pass :(
Need them to match the newest GW releases (mainly Necromunda)...
Also (IMHO) Artels massive weapons and ”non-heroic” proportions look good on screen but rather odd when placed next to on models from GW.
Especially the minis that are supposed to look tough/brutish (hard when combining heroic weapons and girlish hands).
And - I repeat my suggestion:
Please let them have straight right hand index fingers (i.e. not on the triggers - unless when shooting).
Trigger discipline will make them look way more professional!
.

I'd rather they stuck with the proper proportions. It's one of the reasons to buy their models imo.

I agree. I buy them for the proper scaled look specifically because they're not misshapen mutants. If you place one normal person next to 5 people all suffering severe allergic reactions, of course the normal person won't match... but that doesn't mean that fault is with him/her.
Took some time to stick the models together, some of the vents are in somewhat tricky places, making removal a careful procedure, but the models go together like a charm. All have been delights to put together.

I'm afraid if I don't hear from you guys before next friday, I won't have other choice but to reclaim Paypal to make the chargeback.

Hello!
First of all - I`m really sorry for the delay. Second - backlog is FAR WORSE than we could expected. As I said before, that is very hard to us, as we`re small company, but also very inspirational, we has no idea how much people admires our work. Though - all orders will be fulfilled. If you want a refund - just email us, you can get it anytime, no matter of PayPal`s rules, it would be sad, but totally understandable.
I`m sorry again for the inconvinience, on behalf of all Artelians.
Also pinging in to say that i'm still waiting on my order...
I put in an order on February 5th. It's been 46 days since my order moved to processing...
I really love the company, the sculpts, and the communication. Artel W has been fantastic about customer service and responding as well, but I've been holding back on ordering anything else until all existing orders have been cleared.
I've advised my friends to hold off on ordering until other people have started to report shipments coming in as well... apologies are all well and good, but there doesn't seem to be enough action taking place to fix the situation.
Sad I missed the Bone Banshees before they vanished, though why is understandable.
As a longtime Craftworlds player I was quite impressed with the styling though, and good-quality 3rd-party eldar stuff that "fits" is very hard to find. Any chances you'll be doing other Eldar-styled stuff in the future?
A lot of the CWE characters suffer from being monopose and old, so there may be a decent market for semi-generic alternatives.
Off the top of my head, types of things that I and other CWE players would buy in a heartbeat:
A counts-as for any of the phoenix lords, expecially the older ones that suffer from "chunkiness" (Asurmen and Jain Zar are top of this list)
A female count-as autarch (or chest replacement bit for the plastic autarch and a head)

Paypal gives you 6 months these days. It used to be 8 or 12 weeks or something like that but is now much more useful.

Given how the Boneshees had to be pulled because of being a bit too close to ....other companies' sculpts, wish-listing for models that are close to other companies's specific character sculpts might be a bit too far. More generic things like the latter two might be more achievable, but probably not the "bitz", as I don't believe that Artel have ever done conversion parts for other companies' models.

Re: the bolded, the last couple of pages have exactly that. They're a boutique company, scaling up their production to meet unprecedented demand is likely incredibly difficult in the short period of time that has elapsed since most people placed orders and now.

I wouldn't expect them to be terribly close, honestly a different take on the same fantasy/sci-fi concept would probably be refreshing. Example Asurmen could easily be another "Ancient One commander" with a very different appearance. As long as they're characters that stand out and the same general height/base size count-as would just be in full force.

We taken all actions we could, believe me. All our casting shops working with maximum load, new releases are delayed, we`re sending about 300-500 miniatures every week. The most troubles are with Chastener, as it`s most wanted of discontinued miniatures, but we`re planning to close all orders with him in a two weeks, may be three. If it`s inappropriate - we`ll do refunds on first demand, without any hesitation, without openenig case at PayPal or whatever. Also, we working on growing our production powers, but tht is not easy task at all, as our standarts of quality very high.

I could confirm that I have gotten my order and am very very happy, their sculpt is great and in scale with 40k; I've gotten the inquisitor eisenhorn and retinue pack, as well as cain/jurgen before they disappeared from their shop; I especially love inquisitor ravenor before the casket with shoulder cannon, can't wait to paint them up in the hopefully near future.
I ordered around Christmas and gotten the order about 6 weeks later, I count myself lucky I guess. If you like what you have ordered, I suggest waiting and work on other projects.

Hi, Artel, thanks for the answer
As long as I end up getting them, I'd prefer the miniatures than any refund, to be honest . It's just that it's been so long since the last communication and that I thought Paypal's grace period was ending that I had to ask.
What's your current "normal" turnaround? I'm really interested in those enforcers...

Before the Tsunami our average dispatching time was 3-10 working days, except the preorders and some most wanted miniatures, like Warseer and Chastener (it was about 21 days for `em). For our existing, not discontinued range it`s about 5-14 days now.
I'm still waiting on an order I placed early February, as well.
It's a little disappointing, but of course I understand why there would be such a sharp spike in demand and how tough it would be for a small operation like yours to deal with.
I've been really satisfied with your models in the past and I'm not on a deadline or anything to get stuff on the table, so I can afford to wait for the backlog to catch up. It will be worth it to have a really unique-looking band of Inquisitorial minions.
Im a HUGE fan of your guys work and I must say it here WOW just friggen WOW my jaw is on the floor with the level of detail, my only regret having ever made since finding you guys is not buying that AMAZING gabriel angelos model you guys made before you were froced to cease production of him by GW, Im a huge Blood ravens player and I feel like I should be kicking my own ass in for not purchasing it the very second I saw it, keep up the amazing work guys and I'll keep buyin from you.
Thank you for the support and kind words, guys More WIPs will be tomorrow, and some releases are really close already, but for now I want to share this:
The concept for the Voidstalker, founder and Prime of Sisterhood of Howling Void. (don`t mind the high heels, we punished artist already
Of course, this means, that full squad of Sisters of Howling Void will follow in similar design. And we have plans for other Shrines and Factions of Starborn Ancients.
willb2064 wrote: Is there any way to get the discontinued Eisenhorn retinue? I just finished the audiobooks and saw this thread too late to make an order.
The secondary market like the swap shop, bartertown, or ebay probably. They had to stop selling it a couple months ago and are still working on catching up with orders from late January.
Fresh WIPs!
Some of you asked, why there are no women in the upcoming Law Enforcement Unit? The reason is, that squad is themed! This heads will be in the set, along with helmeted ones:
The second for today is update of the Witchhunter. He`s kinda badass, aren`t he?
Just wanted to pop in and say that I got my order today! I was a bit surprised that the delivery required a signature so fair warning for those that need to prepare ahead of time for that. FWIW, my order squeaked in at the end of January so they are sending out things out steadily. The detail on the figs is fantastic and even daunting in the case of some of them! Some of the bits are slightly bigger than the tip of a lead pencil that broke off and you have to be careful you don't sneeze while you're looking at your haul. I'll be posting a review on my blog later this week.
I ordered a chastener on Feb. 2nd and still haven't gotten so much as a tracking number. Anybody else in the same boat? It's lovely to see all these new designs but I'm not sure I'll order again when there aren't any release dates or time frames for past orders...

Actually, if I`m not mistaken, that was a week ago
Anyone interested in trading OOP Artel figs? I'd be interested in getting a Chapter Master and female Eldar Farseer from the discontinued figures. No sense in clogging up the news thread though so PM me if you happen to have one extra to trade along with your potential want list.
I was actually going to ask something like that and what the etiquette was - due to a misunderstanding I've ended up with an extra "Heroic Commissar and Aide " (duplicate Christmas present for my brother when my mother misinterpreted the "Heroic Commissar" I'd ordered for Commissar Raival being Heroic). Be nice to send it onto someone who missed out rather than just tossing it out on ebay. Facebook group the best place?

Ok, thanks. I just remember you mentioned a few weeks ago about some counterfeit copies elsewhere so figured I'd ask since they weren't from the usual location of the Russian Federation on ebay.

That was not about counterfeit (we are not worring about that at all), but about scammers, who want to steal your money and credit card info.
And now! Meet Katerina - Prophetissa Bellum! Available to preorder right now Our most complex kit by now - 23 parts with PLENTY of options for everyone, that is what we want to make a standart for iur future minis.
By the way - there is giveaway at our facebook page Oh, and we`re making this T-Shirts now (available at artelw.com):
Jut wanted to add in that I received my first order from them and everything looks very nice.
Almost no flash or mold lines, I am amazed ant the fine detail they managed and no warping that I could see.
Great stuff. I will be putting in another order in the future.
I`ll just leave this here: They are the LAW! Behave, citizens, or feel the heavy hand of the Law, deadly bullet of the Law, burning flame of the Law and all other stuff of the Law. There will be Order, or there will be bodies - and Order. They are Expendables, could be, but they are awesome, stylish... and the LAW! And now they have Woofy the Cyberdog! Of the Law. Do you have any faster shipping options available? And does pre-ordering mean a shorter wait between ordering and shipping once the models are available?
Zachectomy wrote: Do you have any faster shipping options available? And does pre-ordering mean a shorter wait between ordering and shipping once the models are available?
The long waiting was with backlog for Last Moment Sale and it`s done. We`re returning to our standart schedule - about two weeks (probably less) from order till dispatching. Preorder means, though, comes with longer waiting - first dispatchings for new niniatures, such as Katerina and LEU, will be from 10/05, and than processing will be from three weeks to month for the first time.

Of course preorder means that you will recieve your minis earlier, than those customers who are waiting for the full release It will take some time, though, but not as much, as with Last Moment orders in January and February - that I can promise. Unexpected troubles are possible, of course, but if there will be any - I will kepp you informed, as always.

None yet. And there never will be! Muahahahahaaa!
Seriously tho, the Underhive does not rate the attentions of Imperial Arbites, or at least that’s what Lord Helmawr says. Instead they get his personal elite, the Palatinate Enforcers as stand-ins. This has nothing to do with the cover up of the very illegal Spook trade at all, because obviously such a thing is impossible. I mean, of course some chancers and low-lives try it but they are caught and suitably dealt with regularly. By the Enforcers. No need to waste Imperial resources on such a small problem.
Mysterio wrote: Primaris are quite a bit bigger than regular marines, and many of your figs look to be scaled a bit too big as well?
Yes. We`re doing minis compatible with GW, but our style is completely different - we`re interested in more "realistic' proportions, not "heroic" ones. If miniatures with realistic proportions would be made in heroic scale, their heads, arms and other parts would be very-very small (like on one of our first mini, Inquisitor DeRoza), which is also bad.
I'd stress the proportions Artel mentioned above as they are really different compared with the GW figures. It's more like 40k universe done by Corvus Belli visually. They do fit with some of the more realistic GW figs like a few Forgeworld IG/Inq characters or the recent resin Sister of Battle homage to the 2nd ed codex. They will be dwarfed in volume by Primaris which I consider a good and appropriate thing!
The figs are very detailed but some of the attachment points are miniscule as they're realistically proportioned. I actually worry about the durability of thinner female figures as the attachment points for some small bits on say the Warband psyker are less than one millimeter in radius/depth. It's great for display models but I suspect those finer connections will break even with the model just being bumped over by a stray hand onto its side let alone a fall from height. I suppose it's a trade off for the intricate detail you get though. I should be posting a review of my package sometime this week.
I ordered 2 sets of the enforcers. I would have ordered more dogs but I must admit I was disappointed by the loss of some of the more k-9 features like ears. I will certainly order some if they release any more cyber dogs in different poses with slightly different features

Thx.
