Well I hope this guy is good old normal Marine sized! or offered in two sizes to look after those who dislike Primaris with a passion.
also another idea for these amazing concept drawings is to offer them for sale as a large poster sized image with the W watermark as I'd basically cover my home with them!
Almost year of design, development and production, and now - at last!
Here comes the mighty Red Angel, the Father of Slaughter, the Crimson Prophet, Avatar of Bloodshed! No title of gore and violence is too big or too loud for Him, as He is - ANGER HIMSELF!!!

I can swear with all my confidence - we`re not thinking about him at all! It`s totally coincidence - no joking here!
I've no idea how anyone could think the two are remotely related. Both are holding swords and a pistol, but in opposite hands. One is a chain sword, the one here maybe a power sword? Both have floppy hats... but I wouldn't say the hats remotely look similar. So... yes they both have 2 arms, 2 legs, both might be inquisitors... both are holding weapons... but, beyond that I don't see the comparison.

After taking another look at the "original" art from RT, I think I was mistaken as he's not as close as my nostalgic rose colored glasses incorrectly recalled from all those years ago.
On a semi-related note, can you share what parts of the previous Heroic Commissar were the ones Games Workshop objected to?
You guys are aware that I'm supposed to be reducing my backlog of unpainted models, right? Stop making so many awesome things that I feel compelled to buy!

Unpainted?! Ha! I`m even not assemble the most of my personal miniatures from my own company
Ordered my command team to go with my Commisar and his assistant - really need a tuneful blonde Inquistor (in or out of custom artificer armour) to go with them.
Commissar Raivel ready for the winter campaign (by the way - comics about Commissar Raivel by Gray-Skull is here https://artelw.com/comics_by_grayskull from now on, with weekly updates):
Just got my first order from you guys and the quality is absolutely spectacular! The resin is good quality, casting is great and even the packaging is really nice.
Cephalobeard 721279 10070318 wrote:Having just have received this in the mail, I absolutely cannot wait to purchase more. Astounding quality.
Just wanted to chime in and agree. I've purchased a handful of Artel minis over the last year or so and the quality is always, always mind-blowing. The proportions clash a bit with 40k minis, but not so much that it really bothers me (no different from some of the older FW stuff like renegades, etc.). Really, really great quality models.
Sure, but let's be honest...any alternate builder right now needs to be aiming at Primaris since that will be the future of marine kits. It's just good business. (admittedly being digital sculpts it's not impossible to run both ranges depending on how they scale).

+1 to that, amazing models and they are so fun to paint too. Heres my Geralt and Eredin
And now this guys goes to printing, sp you can expect it at September, probably.
Multipart kit, contains bits for 10-men squad, special weapons options (made in modular way like in Law Enforcement Unit), and options for one Sergeant
Those look really nice. If the price is right in could see myself getting a squad. I am also looking forward to seeing if you make any other squads in the future.

It`s long shot yet. The nearest releases will be Captive Unleashed, new Commissar Raivel (in winter uniform and without "burden" ) and Voidstalker. Einherjars scheduled for the next month.

Why weren't they mixed in with the initial batch rather than dangled as a carrot if these sell? You lose sales from people waiting to see if you make them...

First of all, squads are still high risk for us. They`re expencive to produce, takes a lot of work in design - but sales could be not so good as we expecting. We are love to experimenting, but we`re still small company with no spare cash. Second, it`s kinda very hard to make multipart kit with females AND males in it in non-heroic scale - and this kit should be priced reasonably. I totally agree, that female soldiers should be released, and we`re working on `em. That`s not a carrot, but solid fact - to release something new we should sell something first.
sales data that says 'line' females don't sell as well as men even if special characters might?
Yes, of course, there is need of different bodys - and different legs and, possibly, arms as well. In the small scale - 28mm - the tiniest differences in shoulder width would cause a troubles for multipart kit. For now we`re working with female versions of Law Enforcement Unit and I suppose this expirience will help us to make Einherjar`s women in a proper way.
As for the sales data - no, that`s not the point. Point is - we have no data that there is enough demand for the grotesque-soviet-themed winter soldiers in not-so-cheap resin at all. It` s experiment - in form we can afford with our finances and time schedule. As well as our new Revenant space elves. Oh, and we have female special character for Einherjar`s DXCVII in our range

The dual-wielding inquisitor should have his hands reposed. There is no way one can hold a blade with his knuckles turned against each other like that and effectively swing the sword. The knuckles should point in the same direction for it to work. Of course, one could argue that he isn't in a pose where he will strike with the sword, or that he will move his hands prior of striking it, but regardless I just think it looks goofy. Grab a hold of any kind of stick and try to swing it like a sword and you'll see yourself that it is pretty much impossible to make an effective swing like that.
Really excited about the potential space elves, but the previous models have been turned so...different, I'm not sure I'm on board with them. The overly-bone-scaly look doesn't match anything I'd use them with, unfortunately. Really frustrating because I love almost the entire Artel mini line except the space elves...the one race I play.
I've never understood why Eldar are soooo rare in the 3rd party resin market. Frustrating to say the least!

Hmm, grefven is right, with the hands held like that, almost no forward movement of the sword is possible. Arms need to be away from the chest to hold the sword correctly as well.
I like the new Gregor but I loved the one you showed a page or so back, I liked the sword pose more, and that face must have been Mark Strong inspired. Any chance you will go back to the original page?

I guess one can argue that this isn't a "fighting" pose, but one that is holding his sword defensively and ready to react if someone strikes at him. Then it would also make sense for the sword to be tucked against the chest. As a more of a static and defensive pose I guess it can make sense.

Not even much of a defensive pose, since you can only rotate to the top 180 degrees. His lower half is totally unprotected, Is going to have to rotate the left hand and move the sword away from his chest to do pretty much anything.

Very much so - both sets of knuckles should be facing forward, and the left arm cocked at the wrist, with the sword held further out. This would suit the background more too, in that the character it's based on is an expert swordsman.
Something similar to this is what I would suggest, and wouldn't take much alteration, I think.
More importantly, that Scorpion design! If all your "Void Elves" are designed like that in future, I'll be very happy. Especially if the champion is a lady based on Drazhar.

Judging by the name, I'd say coincidence has been defenestrated.
I've ordered a few things from this company and they have all been fantastic. Shipping was faster that I anticipated and everything is cast amazingly well. Definitely going to order the Scorps to go with the Spiders they sell.
The commander will most certainly see use around here as either an alternative Rogue Trader model for Blackstone Fortress or an Imperial Noble for my Imperial Knights.
I really love "Zorg" and the "Shadow Hunters". I especially like the menacing vibe from the Shadow Hunters as well es their dynamic poses! Awesome work!

Cadians can be tolerable if you do some minor modifications. I clipped and sanded off the skull wings symbol from the helm, rifle, and some other parts.

hard to model Pontius glaw to use in game as he's mostly in a box; who is kanjar the sharp? I looked in lexcanium but with no luck.
Spoiler:
they are one and the same person, a magos built him a body, with predictable results, he is THE most badass villain in 40k, human...ish, super intelligent, ultra charming, all the bits that make a great bad guy... anyway, I would love a model based on the Dark Heresy art above.... so cool

In previous editions, you could use them with inquisitorial acolytes and IG veterans in carpace armor with shotguns. When I looked in the Index books, the stormshield/power weapon acolytes are still possible for those models but no shotguns. For the IG, the vets can still take shotguns but lost carapace armor options and the tempetus (sp?) scion rules don't support the shotguns either. I haven't followed up with the codex books though so maybe they added those back in but I'd doubt it since they don't make a model themselves.
Yissssss good news, thanks Artel! I don't normally buy 3rd party models for my Eldar, but to be honest, that design is just so damn good that my rule has to go out the window immediately.

You had me excited. I went and grabbed my Index: Forces of the Astra Militarum book... and... I can't find a way to give shotguns to the DKK. Death Korps Infantry squad has a 5+ save, no shotguns. The DK Grenadier Storm Squad has 4+ saves, but still no shotguns. Are you looking in the most up to date book? Or, I'm missing something? DKK does mean Death Korps of Krieg?

I'm guessing that's in large part to the half hearted and typo filled efforts FW did in supporting/converting everything to 8th edition... but, hey, if it helps you as a player then I'm all for it (no sarcasm intended). My guess is though that the support will probably stop as soon as FW puts out a proper DKoK book. Are the rules available legally for free via pdf? Or was it in a physical book?

Thanks. I saw it mentioned after posting but wasn't able to sneak away to edit it until now. I'm glad that there is a counts-as way to use them and iircDKoK traditionally have improved morale rules that suit Arbites well thematically too.
How large will those rangers be? I'd could use some that are scaled to match my Primaris Marines... Also, will there be an option to build them without the cloak?
Artel W, any news when the Shadow Prime Hunter will be on your ebay store? I've got a coupon on ebay that is burning a hole in my pocket for another week that I'd like to use!
Those Scout concepts look amazing. Reminiscent of the Tempestus Scions with the heavy armor and tactical gear. Very nice. Can I suggest having an over-the-shoulder lamp mounted on to their armor as well?

To each their own. I would prefer without the over the shoulder light. The first set of heads have NODs. A light would hurt their ability to see. Besides, these also look like scouts. With bare eyes you can see better in the dark than with a light (once your eyes adjust), and a light gives away your position to the enemy. So... light over the shoulder doesn't make sense to me.

Assuming the lamp is in the visible spectrum, and is not a UV or infrared lamp keyed to the goggles.
Rule of cool. It doesn't need to make sense (like why do Scouts have rebreathers attached to their armor, but none of them are ever shown using them) why they'd have shoulder lamps in conjunction with NODs. They wouldn't need to be permanent pieces either, just an attachable gubbin.

I realize arguing logic with any science-fiction setting is silly. However, emitting in any spectrum still has a chance of giving away your position. Better with just the NODs. But, I do love me some options, more are always better. An optional bit, you know for those that like being shot at, is always a good addition to the bits box, just never know when it'll come in handy.
While the average cost is beyond my reach for squads, it's really nice to see someone finally doing proper third party support for Space Elves. One of the most ignored factions by GW...and oddly no one thought to pick up the ball and run with it.
There are soooo many gaps in the Space Elf line that could use some filling. Love seeing these Scorpions, but alas it's one of the only Aspects I have 20+ already done and don't need any - will probably try to grab a couple Exarchs as I dislike mine at the moment.
Simple things like some alternate weapon arms for Space Elf militia would be welcome - things to make close combat fighters, etc. A lot of room to be the only manufacturer paying attention to Space Elves.
Hot stuff. Artel are currently very well received in the Ork community because so many players are purchasing their not-Mega Armoured Warboss model. Its a good idea for them to focus on our market while there is so much interest.
The Ork choice is bizarre, if only because Orks are probably the most-supported aftermarket line beyond Imperial stuff. So many companies produce aftermarket Ork stuff. But, Artel does nice work, so I guess it's nice having "more" Ork stuff?

Its probably because Artel realise there is a massive market for decent looking Orks. Ork players have gone mad for their Megaboss. I suspect it's a reaction to the market.

A simple selection of Space Elf guns and swords (mainly guns) would be great to see from some manufacturers. There are a lot of good AOS Elfen models that would be nice starters for Eldar but getting a decent stand-in for a Shuriken Pistol or Rifle is a pain.

Eh...sorta? Everyone will go aftermarket for any character models, that's obvious. It's cool they're doing Orks for Ork players, but it's hardly a scant market for Orks (particularly considering their massive plastic line from GW available to kit-bash, etc.). The Ork market is hardly underserved in resin (entire third party manufacturers are based on Ork minis, etc.)

You could always put in a request for "FW level QA". They can put in some mould slippage, some hard-to-bend parts that need to be straightened, a whole heap of flash - the works!

Things FW Q&A has made me say in the past:
"These Alpha Legion helmets make my Kill-Team look cool. It's like 5 wicked-looking guys, and then there's the dude that got his head stomped by a Warhound titan."
"Wait, why doesn't your Sicaran tank have bullet-holes like mine?"
"Let's play which one of these is the real FW tank, and which one is the knock-off, I bet you'll be shocked."
"Funny thing, that DKoK army of yours has guys that have been across the Atlantic more times than most sailors to get replacements for bad molds."
"Yeah, it said to heat the part slowly to bend it to shape, so I used hot water. And yes, these are second-degree burns on my hands and the barrel did snap."
"Wow, the last time I waited this long to open something and be disappointed, I swore off dating religious women afterward."
Hello guys! We`re producing our miniatures for two years now! And we want you to celebrate with us!
So, first of all:

Artel W models are so good and they make me consistently wonder why GW can't hire sculptors that a) understand proper leg poses for moving objects and b) faces (especially FW). Can't be that hard to find these people if tiny companies can?
They're having a sale right now, 15% off and I think this guy is new, I certainly don't remember him, though it may be the heat addling the mind that I completely forgot about him:
I am just finishing up the 54mm Witch Hunter - The casting is some of the cleanest I have seen, it is actually better than the one shown on the listing (bubbles on some of coat details on the back) but mine was almost flawless. I used to cast miniatures and I thought I was quite good but I am hella impressed so far.
See my WIP below, still some basing and weathering to do.
Quite like the look of the Ork Commandos and the 54mm Chaplain.
Not a fan of either head, but thankfully there are alternatives. But I am so picking one up when she's on general release, might be the perfect starting point to start building that Rogue Trader crew we used to play as. Better late than never..
I gotta say that I'm digging the new power loader suits. They give me a starship troopers meets edge of tomorrow vibe. I think they'd be great bigger suits (grizzlies?) for use with the old Starship Troopers game by mongoose to go along with Strykers from puppetswar as the normal troopers.
I can't tell if the first one is supposed to be flying or jumping. Why is he jumping so dramatically over such a small rock?
Would almost make more sense for him to have some sort of assisted leap going on with smoke and stuff supporting the model. What do I know though.
I've managed to stay away from Hydrophilia so far but this release will probably break me. Looks like they'd look good hanging out with Anvil stuff from After Life as well.
A little silliness on the Hanzel and Gretel minis as well --- 'Schwarzwald' literally translates into Black Forest. Amusing.
Even though I'd like a bunch of these Artel miniatures, I simply haven't had a chance to put in an order. Would make a fantastic line for Inq28. What W. Artel needs is for Eldar aspect warriors to become feasible/better in 40K so he can become the sole source of quality miniatures for them...would be a blessing.

Agreed on all of the above. The suits are on my bucket list for Starship Troopers inspired minis and I'd definitely get him off of that tactical rock for sure. I blame Infinity for that!

I'm not particularly enthused about the regular warriors but the exarch and/or phoenix lord equivalents are pretty great looking IMO.
Ravenor's retinue still has Thonius and Zeph Mathuin to go, maybe Zael, though he's just a kid at this stage? And Maud Plyton who joins them in the second book IIRC. Oh and Sholto Unwerth as well, that obnoxious not-dwarf guy.
Guys, we made a terrible mistake. Our new Scout`n`Recon Squad has been released on the wrong scale - you can see the comparison on the picture. In this regard, we suspend their sale until we re-issue the unit in a more suitable size - a bit above Enforcers, a bit below the Unforgiving Chaplain, as it was originally intended.
If you have already ordered the squad - do not worry, during today you will receive a letter to the email, in which we will offer options for resolving the situation.
We apologize for any inconvenience and promise to reissue the squad as soon as possible.
It's not a selling point. If you followed W. Artel you'd see they posted numerous places that they mistakenly printed/cast them in the larger scale instead of the normal marine scale. It's a warning, not a sales tag.
