True, heads will roll. Meanwhile, I must do something with it.
awwww.... now after clocking the vid i want to watch the movie again....for the millionst time... *shakes fist*
ah... you made me a celebrity^^ ...at first i thought you meant the bug in the background...the one probably designated for target practise...^^
the painting looses a bit due to the still crappy lighting... you need so much a good daylight bulb mister! but from what i can see... looks very cool... somehow i can´t refrain from referring to the bren tank as a "she"... have you named her yet?

I love watching it on Saturday nights as my personal monthly "Creature Feature" at night. I see you got it, Lictor is just a test model. The only Nid I own at present, just as I have a Lelith Hesperax for fun. Oh, that, I forgot the flash is all. Once I add another layer and the black squggles and metals to it, I will remember to use the flash for a better image

well i look forward to your next update mate!
Yep different movies with different IG in them is one way to see them. Expendibles is more like SM w/o the power armor.
Well, the basic camo scheme is on, and so are some little details, like the guns, and the stowed covers in the back, still working on those, but here is the latest update!

Of course a little touch up and then the "Mud" will help a lot.

Well, those shall be fixed, for now my bed calls to me.
Yeah pollen/ragweed is REALLY bad all over the US this spring..it was really wet still when it first got really warm. THat is why my yard was looking like a death-world. I'm sneezing and snotting too, got a bit of poison ivy on my arms, but it is confined and drying up thankfully.
for some reason i am really glad that till now in my family only a slight lactose intolerance has been found out... other aillments have yet to be emerging... which i hope wont happen...
@Dave; More a Oily bluish sheen to ti, I think it will work as I used it on chimera rubber blocks before.
@Vik; Well, only food allergies ais Pectin, and over reactiveness to Capsaizins in certain peppers, That is due to being a "super-taster, and the subtlety of flavors I can handle, but for me those who are spicey food afficianados have lost their taste sensors a bit hence the need for bolder flavors.
actually i have heard that peeps that eat really spicey stuff have better developed tastebuds than those of a more subtle kind of cuisine affection... after all chineese and so on asians eat way hotter stuff than europeans but they still are very good in tasting and smelling food and such things...
and yep... the endorphin rush is sometimes really quite big^^
Well the capsaizin is way too much for my taste buds, they pick it up for the toxin it is meant to be , to keep animals from eating it, figure humans have to be contrary to natural laws!
I can even tell when batches of cookies got too much of an ingredient.
Automatically Appended Next Post: The one sense I am deficient in is sight, have glasses to make up for it.
well and i am oblivious to odours as i can´t smell a dead rat under my pillow... seems a heritage birth defect... sometimes this is good... but i miss out on the smell of my wifes hair or the baby smell of my kids when they were younger... they say small babies smell a bit of caramel...well they say as i never felt that...
also...even coffey and it´s bitter taste is meant to get us off that hook... or tea and cacoa... but guess what... we drink it nevertheless... humans are too stupid to lay off of dangerous /weird stuff...^^
Depends on the baby, some smell almost like butter cookies.
My sense of smell is such that I must use a trick I learned to disengage my sinuses so that my smell is cut off until I get away from he offending aroma. hyper palate means both toungue and nose are tweeked up and my hearing is also odd.
10 levels of sound higher or lower than most i can still hear, Army testers got tired of how that was taking so long and finally said "Get the hell out of there"
lol... with those senses i think you are a bit OOT for the army anyways^^ too much sensibility is not really something the army searches in their men^^...so i´ve heard at least
you can block up your own sinuses? how do you do that? just pinch your nose and blow it or how else?
sewwt smells mostly for babies... as they smell of tasty and sweet stuff so that the mother feels more attached to them... yes, that is a sort of insurance that the mother doesn´t forget about them... we are rather a poor and sorry race really...

Yep, it is a willed thought that closes the muscles in the head so that the sinusses do not feed to the ret of the palate, so no cow poop smells like what happened on a school trip to a agro farm with cow pens inside!
Dave, i can safely eat Bell peppers for their smojky flavor(Green) or sweetness (yellow red and orange), i may be able to handle mild Jalapenos. Salsa Verday is acceptable.

...cool...i think i have to teach my wife that... she is too quite sensitive to smell... on a related sidenote i today got rid of my armpit hair... to better use deodorants and keep the good smell all day long

whats the differnce?
One is a thread post with many pics, the other would be a single picture of massive magnitude!
and just read your comment about that selfmade kit for a tank from you... i really think this would be very cool... there was recently an idea to make up a selfmade gameing thingy with models and kits... well this sounds then almost doable then if you can chuck out such things! beside with your knowledge and motivation for the whole tank agenda...

Ah, better education may help with a more fulfilling career.
I saw the whole Matrix experience when a former roomy had the entire disk set. Now to dig out that collection and camera
of course..the better educated man gets the job... hopefully as for my new found profession... men are also a good choice if dumb as a doornail... men seldom choose the soft subjects as a profession...so you have not too much manly comeptition there...which is a big help^^
Okay, so at a request, I have the group of Oddballs made by scratch, or conversion work assembl4ed, this does not include the Bren and other tractors nor the Old Crow and Japanese kit. For scale and size reference, I have the Baneblade so you have an idea as to how big some of them are!
Back row: T-300/Malcador defender from a French tank/T-350/T-65A5/T-290/T-400/Baneblade
Front Row: Grizzly/French turret Extermintor/T-440/Sea Dragon/"Hydra" and the converted Basilisks.

Also, the picture below is giving me the itch to build my Akuyaku #1. The only thing holding me back is that I promised myself I wouldn't paint it until I painted the 40 Spacelords Sarday'kin legionaires that will accompany it and i haven't even started them.

Hmmm, well, you may want to get those troops painted up and then get cracking on that Akuyaku!!!
Okay, so now that the little excursion to my Monster sized tanks is done for now, I did the decals on the Bren, so this means that the next step is the mud and dirt washing. So for now, enjoy the "showroom finish" it has on now.
well... maybe you could make thin lines and like make highlights to let it pop more... but i think that miht be a bit OOT for a decal that gets mostly covered in mud later on^^

7 x Chimeras, Manticore, Hydra, 2 x Basilisks, 2 x Sabtres, T-90D Mazurka, 2 x Lancers, 2x Gladius, 2 x Claymores, 2 x Glaives, 2 x Dragoons, Samson, Bren, 3 x Centaur mods, 2 x Goannas, 2 x closed Geckos, open Gecko, Rebel, 9 Sentinels at last check, so about 63?

For weathering? I don't think you are supposed to mix the paint and salt for that technique. I think you are supposed to just rub the salt off so that the color below shows through.
he uses it to get extra grain in his paint... actually now he could get a bit of that new texturized paint GW does but i think he wants to keep the uniform look of his mud-look...
dsteingass wrote:oh ok...does the paint stick to the salt?
In fact the salt seems to absorb the paint.

i have to say in all earnest... shas you get way better with the mudaplication!!! that is in my view the best so far...the consitency and the pattern looks very realistic to me!

that tank is really looking as if it had just crawled out of a mucky pit!

Yeah the "mud" was still wet when I took the pictures, final step is the badab black wash to do on it.

They would be like very well armed stubby sentinels. Or just a IG version of "Dreadnought" I mean the railgun also could be Plasma, and twin-linked assault cannons? It would be very brutal indeed.

Yeah, I can owe some that crust method to going through Neil101's blog when he made his ancient tadpole based tank for that.
Had to, you know how soldiers lament the idea of getting stuck with the nasty jobs!

I have been intrigued by the Stridsvagen for quite some time, and I am also sad that they retired such a grand machine as the 103. I have imagined it up-gunned with the 120mm and it would have been even more awesome! Meanwhile, I stay impressed with Swedens' CV tanks.

Viktor von Domm wrote:lizards? you never said... but surley those are all fantasy? tho i think they do make cool looking alines for 40k too^^
I already made "Oblita-Gators" and the Reptus wear ornate armor, and weird weapons that I am using as counts as power claws, hammers, as well as some shooting like bolters! These Lizards worship the "Gods" and as such, well, have certain immunities as well as unique abilities as rewards for their devotions, as well as their natural gift to open their own portals or make the "Mountain homes move" I. E. Buried space ships. As they infest areas of space.

Now the other troops should also be freed up, so all sorts of walkers and troops, the Konfederation enhances it's power!

That is the extent of my "Red Paint Job" now for the other bitz, and blue luck stripes, and the weathering. I told you my Orks are slap dash in their ways.
Instead of badab black...try some really watered down black paint, stab it into the recesses with a stiff brush, then dab and wipe it off of the surface detail! with a rag right away - It'll give a really deep caked in oil look.

Hmmm, I shall have to do that old trick, I used to do that on old WW-II planes I used to have, streaking the watered down black to look wind swept to the back of the plane and even in the black lines of the panels seams if I had to wipe it off
Hmmmm...... Sky Shark looks great. You know what would be so so cool, your Sky Shark in an aerial duel with Klaus' Airship Athena.
Skyborne apocalypse!!!

dsteingass wrote:Dood That is an EPIC Supply Drop! I'm glad to finally see those Defiance sprues! What do you think of them so far?
Can you please get a close-up shot of that legs sprue?
Your Camo is fething fantastic man!!
The legs have a cool look, I'm using my 12 spares per box as legs for some veterans I'm converting for my guard. They're a little soft, but still look really cool, and fit a lot of minis very well with their look. The rest of the kit has fairly good detail. It's no forgeworld, but for what you're paying they're pretty good. Think much better than a WGF greatcoat trooper but not quite as sharp details as a GW cadian (except for the guns, the detail on them is spot on) That's my thoughts at least. Even though they aren't perfect, I still really like them and am considering getting another box for bits.
OT: That's an awesome paintjob for the greatcoats man, beats the snot out of mine. Best job I've seen anyone do with them so far. They're tough to make look good, but you pulled it off very well, great job!
BTW: how is the gunny? I haven't gotten mine yet and I'm really wishing he'd show up already. The stock on his gun looks slightly bent though. Is that something with the camera or is it actually made like that?

I have both metal and plastic IG torsos that will get placed on the spare legs, until I run out. Heh! for the money these are still great troops, and in some ways beat the GC's a bit, More realistic scaling imho.
Thanks. All part of the united army concept for the Khadrovian Konfederacy. Some units will have plain green armor, (like the Marines Here) but I have a platoon of GC';s after this to finish they are getting the same camo of greys but their hard armor is going to be adeptus battlegrey. I have others painted in black+shadowgrey+fortress grey(Spetznats) but I now have close to 100 troopers to assemble before priming and painting.
Yeah that stock is a bit bent, I am thinking of snipping it carefully heating it, bending it to the right shape and then gluing it back in.

dsteingass wrote:Cool, thanks Shas!- These are plastic or resin?
Gunny is some sort of plastic-resin hybrid, the Troops are pure plastic.

Automatically Appended Next Post: So, I will be posting pics to show the height of the Grymn walkers they came out taller than the AT-43 walkers, amazing.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Used the 28mm Gunny to help with scale as he is known for the height at 28mm. Surprise results for the walkers
AT-43 Kolossus, Gunny , Grymn walker, and Orca walker

Kolossus, Gunny, Orca and Grymn
[/img]
Kolossus next toGrymn,,,,tallest of the shorty's
[/img]
So the Orca, sitting on 25mm bases on a thin 60mm base is the shortest, the Kolossus on a 40mm tall base is actually the middle of the heights, and the Grymn walker on a standard height 50mm base stands the tallest pf the three designs, it will still be shorter than a standard 40k sentinel, but is still impressive!
Those look great! I had been wondering how those marines compared to IG. Nice! I'm not a fan of the helmets for those marines, but I guess you can swap heads...
Oh IG heads are HUGE! and those are the bare Catachans alone, Cadians with helmets are even worse, then you have Chbi-Guard with oversized heads. the heads of the UAMC with helmets on is just right size and properly proportioned, and I do enjoy the different design I have access to vior up/mask away, visor down, no mask, and fully enclosed with mask and visor for hostile gas environs.
cool suply drop shaso... and the bomma is looking damn fine if i say so myself!!! the pilot specially! i like how you worked the diffrent shades....!
the marines are atm something i am not that eager about... but i guess after we all had a chance to see your take on the WF greatcoats i think these will turn out great too... i have six of these and somehow i can´t really do something worthwhile with them...atm at least...
so the marines i think need your speical hand for a good camo job!
Hey Vik is back! Yeah, i loved the synchronicity, I was hoping the boxes would all land the same day, but then expected them to string out and show on different days, but to look out the front door and see them all sitting there! I will be getting that packet out to you soon, but your Post code I forget if Germany uses letters in their Postampt codes or not.
Your 1's looked like A's w/o the mid bar, hence my confusion.
that made my day... and the figure of these somehow even fits those characters... that was a truly good one... only bested by the even now stunning camo look... you should think about some night ops with just two part camo... that would look cool...
and the OC rocketlaunchers look very good on the collossus...!

I figured that they would!
I have thought of night ops camo. Just Dark Grey and black at most.
Glad they are looking good and shaping up. I added paper clip handrails to two Kolossus so far.
i had quite sme difficulties too... seems i didn´t had the right glue back then... the fith was on backburner for at least half a year now... good that you give it a new worthwhile home!^^
