I'm looking for a 1500 point game with some consideration of comp taken into effect.

I know I'm a newb but ill try my best. I've been reading up on the rulebook and have been building some lists. Ill read up on that link after work.

I'll know what time I'll be available on Sunday tomorrow morning. What points are you keen on?

I can do up to 4k with my eldar now and wouldn't mind testing out all my models. If you want to go bigger I still have my FT 6/7k list, either is fine with me. I am golfing tomorrow so if you leave a message I can respond sometime thursday night to confirm.

If you're keen on doing all your models for the eldar, I can do that. We'll keep the big game for a bit later when we can get a couple more for a saturday. I've got around 10000-12000 chaos and also want to use all my models. . So 4000 even with 2 force org charts? I haven't played new eldar yet and know nothing about the new codex. It should be interesting.

For the most part things didn't change to much, they just changed what some of the abilities did, and gave us 3 new units, 2 of which are flyers and will never see the light of day in my army.

4k even more or less, i think i/m at 3998 or something and a good chunk of it is hq's and unit upgrades but it will still be interesting to see all my models on the table. We could also do a 11000 point game if I ally my 2 armies together, have 7k of FT and 4k of Eldar.

Well, I'll leave it up to you. Let me know what points you feel like playing at and we'll go 4000 or 11000

Okay after rechecking my math and models I can field 11k with both armies added together, if you want to go really big. If not I've got 4k of eldar I want to use either way, I'll have both armies in my car so if we go 11k I can just keep bringing in my boxes till I hit that point.

I have been mostly trying out painting techniques but I have settled on a desert scheme for my Dark Angels. I am 16, can get anywhere the TTC can take me, and I am excited to get into 40k.

Welcome to the forum, toronto in general has a large number of players scattered everywhere so you have definitely come to the right place to try and find games. Now for your question, I've heard there is a good group that play out of meeplemart but I personally haven't been over there, too far away from where I live to make it worth the drive. Heavy Support doesn't have a lot of tables or space for gaming, though they do tournies every other weekend at 1750 that I hear are pretty casual. I personally play up at legends warehouse in Vaughan, which has a lot of tables, great space, and flexible hours.

So far the best way to get a game in is to post in this forum the time/date you are looking to play and see what responses you get, usually there are at least a couple people interested on any given day for gaming.

Rythem: What time you want to get started Thurs?

I'm good to go whenever, I have the full day off. Probably the earlier the better since rush hour can be nasty the later on in the day it gets.

Just a heads up...for the next two weekend Legends games tables will be limited because it's Magic Pre-release and Release Weekend.
Sorry guys....60+ Magic Players takes up a lot of space. During the weekdays the tables will be back in service as normal.

Like Rythem I also haven't been to meeplmart, in fact i have only been to Legends because its close to where I live, I will be back in the Toronto area late this afternoon so (thursday) morning or aftnoon/evening would work if anyone wants to play. I can Make a 1k list but prefer 1500 lists. anyone wanna plan a game for thursday, friday, sat??

Ahriman: I played my first full game at Meeplemart on Saturday and had no complaints.. i live right downtown so its convenient. There is even a big honkin AC unit right beside you as you play. The guy said the core 40k day is on Sundays. We didn't have a problem getting a table Saturday but there are 3 tables max

Welcome to the group guys! Most of us play at Legends but a few scattered games can be found at Meeplemart, and one or 2 at Hero's world or Friendly troll.

Not too many of us play at Heavy support any more.

Meeplemart is 40K Sundays, they have a few guys who show up regularly. Legends is where most of us on this forum play, most guys are avaliable for a game at most times during the week.

Given that Legends is gonna be jammed with Magic Players, I'm proposing my place in Vaughan... I have air conditioning, food and game table. Let me know if interested. Maybe a chance for a rematch AmazingSandwich? Rythem? Spender? Optimus? Anyone?

I MAY be able to this weekend but its really 50/50 as gf and I may have plans.

Either way next time we play at your place I can bring the scenery I do have (two tree stands and 3 small rock formations).

Most people I play with don't seem to care whether your army is fully painted or not, just as long as you aren't fielding empty bases. I don't have a 100% painted army and i've been playing at least a decade, adding new models and new codexs change what your army is. Plus there are a lot of other things in life that take priority over painting, work/gf/family tend to come first for me before I can allocate time for hobby'ing.

Legends Warehouse is located at HW400 and Langstaff, they have a website with lots of information about hours and directions for getting there. They are a destination place though, if you just show up it's unlikely there will be people already there looking for games, the best way to get a game in is to set it up first on the forums.

Is there anywhere in the city near Roncesvalles people can play?
Also, does anyone fancy getting a beer somewhere just to meet up and talk shop?

Ahh sorry didn't see this response, 11 sounds great to me, weather network says it's only going to be 24 tomorrow afternoon so it shouldn't be to bad in there. What point level were you thinking, just so i can make up a fun list tonight .

Ya im good for whatever, ill bring both armies either way. Could be fun to do one bigger game then two smaller even if its possible

Welcome and no we don't. We're all pretty relaxed and the games are of the friendlt nature. Most of us just want to laugh and throw dice

I'm actually working on building a board atm for this very reason. Im not a big fan of 'playing in stores'. I will if I have to, but I would prefer not to.

By the time it's done it should be quite decent. It will of course be standard tournament size, 6 X 4 with six 2X2 quadrants, and will have ample high quality cover and structures on it.

I'll keep you posted.

Yes, every other weekend they run a 1750pt 40k tournie, no painting scores, 3 games in 1 day, for $15-20 or so. If you check out their website they have a calendar section that shows when the tournies are running, you just need to be careful on the mtg pre release/reg release weekends because the tournie might get bumped for all the mtg players. ( not 100% on this though)

So I went to Astronomi-con Toronto this weekend. Barely got my Word Bearers army done. I ended up doing really well on Day 1, but was tabled 3 times on day 2. I just can't compete with those Xenos armies!

haha yeah- I have like 2000 comfortable points of DE (Though overall the collection surpasses 2k, since I traded my CSM for them, and the guy gave me 100 OOP Kabalites O_O, I now have 120 Warriors for like... no reason. hah)

Sadly it didn't happen, only 4 people showed up so we did a 2v2 instead with the money we would of put in for the tournie as the prize split between the winning team. It's $10 to enter, and I doubt it will be highly competitive so weird lists will probably be fine.

As for this week, I'm free Thursday for games if people are interested, and I never mind proxy lists as long as it's not too confusing what things are.

Yeah... it certainly did turn the tides quickly... dark lances sometimes suck... I hate the one shot weapons... seem to always miss the 'to hit' roll!!!.... but the dark matter is quite effective when you get a few good rolls or you get to shoot a bunch of them at one time!

I actually ran out of crater terrain pieces due to all the carnage I caused... it felt very good, indeed.

Most people have indicated that assault tactics went out the window with the introduction of 6th Edition... but I would like to disagree.. still an important part of every game... and I love my Wrack attack...

The remaining dark eldar, who survived a victorious battle with a mob of Orks were on their way back to the coven hive when they stumbled upon a scouring band of Tau... Despite the fact that even the towering Riptide cowered amongst the rubble of the ruins, the misfit band of marauders moved aggressively forward... The combat fatigue was evident as the first round saw the demise of a Talos and a stunned Raider.... By turn three the tides slowly turned and the Archon led his wyche squad into a second successful assault... Poison ate through Crisis Suits and saw the squad flee off the board... The Archon eventually went toe to toe with the Riptide, locked in combat for the final three rounds. Trueborn took out the Tau warlord, but the remaining wyches and warriors could not hold the objectives under drone fire... Trueborn blasters broke the drone squad... Game ended with a narrow Tau victory... Super game! I want a rematch.

1:20 sounds good to me, rather do larger than smaller army sizes so 1750 is more up my alley than 1500.

I prefer morning.... Nice to get a few games in and still have the afternoon and evening to relax before the work week begins again... Let me know if interested in morning games.

Legends opens at 11am earliest, unless you know a place that opens earlier.

My house opens EARLY! I have the war table, terrain, food, drinks and lots of Dark Eldar poison!

Anyone looking for games tomorrow (sunday) at legends?

For some reason, I thought the HSG tourney was this weekend, but apparently it's the 24th of August. Is it just me or does the HSG calendar keep changing? Screw you Tzeentch!! You're always f**king around.

Usually it is, since they do an every other weekend schedule. But since HSG is primarily a mtg store, when something mtg comes along all other events seem to take a back seat. I always check the website before I head over for this reason.

Spots are starting to fill for Legends Warehouse Battleground Tournament
Full rules package will be out soon but here is the meat and potatoes to get started:

Force Organization Chart
Each player’s Force Organization chart is as follows:
1 HQ
0-1 Elite
1-3 Troops
0-1 Fast Attack
0-1 Heavy Support
In addition, there are 4 floating slots:
1x Elite,
1x Fast Attack,
1x Heavy Support
1x Fortification
These are available for use by the team. Each player on the team may use ONE of these slots. Both players cannot use the same slot type. For example, they may not both have floating heavy slots.
After combining forces, this gives each team a nearly full Force Organization Chart.

Important Note:
Both Armies on a team are considered Allies of Convenience. Units of your army treats Allies of Convenience as enemy units that cannot be charged, shot, targeted with psychic powers or have templates or blast markers placed on them. However, if a psychic power, scatter Blast weapon or other abilities that affects an area hits some of these Allies of Convenience they will be affected along with any friendly or enemy units. This means that, for example, Allies of Convenience units:
• Can Not Benefit from the Warlord Trait of an Allied Character
• Can Not be joined by Allies Independent Characters
• Are not counted as friendly units for targeting of psychic powers.
Each Team is considered to be two separate 1000 point forces for the duration of the Tournament. Both forces act as two separate and independent armies. There will be no Allied Units allowed within individual armies.
Fortifications:
A player who selects a Fortification floating slot may purchase 1 fortification (plus upgrades) from the 40k 6th Ed Rule Book. A Fortification plus upgrades may not exceed 200pts of your force.
The regular terrain on the table is fixed in position at the start of the tournament.
Fortifications may be deployed on the table, in accordance with scenario rules and as such they are not within 3” of another piece of terrain or other fortification. If you are unable to place your fortification in such a manner it may not be deployed that game. You may struggle to place the bigger pieces.

Sounds like a great tourny... I wish I was going to be in town... I may offer up a prize or sponsorship scenario as well..

To start: I will pay the 'entry fee' for ONE TEAM (both members). Please write a fun and fluffy reason (posted here on the forum for all to see) as to 'why' you should be the team I sponsor in this event. I may put the responses to vote to choose the best one. Please post your response no later than August 20, 2013.

If you are selected, you will wear a sticker on game day, on your shirt - I will devise it (it will be rated PG, but will make it known that you represent the Dark Eldar Elite, regardless of your army type) AND I will take a piece of your winnings (if applicable)...to be determined between us as to what is fair.

Third: I will personally donate a Trophy to the Winner - to be handed out at the event... If Legends agrees to display it as the first of hopefully many of their Warhammer 40K tournament pieces of memorabilia. It can act as the Holy Grail of the Warhammer game play area at the store; sought after by all, but only inscribed with the names of the few worthy.
