Thanks very much everyone!

@Barzam - Its on the way to you

@Sockwithaticket - glad you like them!

@Kodos - Hard to say, its not a massively clear artwork. I would advise, if you can, to wait for the planned Dress uniform release, which will include bear skin fur hats, Pickelhaube helmets with spikes, and a couple of new torso varients which may be more suitable for making soldiers similar to the artwork.
Unfortunately I cant give a good estimate as to when we will get around to releasing the mentioned parts.. We are rather swamped with work at the moment!

Holy hell, go on a dakka vacation from this thread and it just explodes with awesome over the course of a few months. Those gladiator helms look fantastic, and so too do the shotguns.

I have two stupid questions about the afterlife stuff:
How big is the Warden compared to your tinyish Taurus Gun Turrets?
Secondly, I see the Warden heads can be bought separately but, what about the torsos and arms?

This conversion will give you some idea. Actually, I think the Taurus tractors have been slightly enlarged and re-released since this.

Thanks for that Fifty! Better comparison than anything I would have remembered!

@StormWall - thanks, glad you like all the new stuff.

The Taurus has been redesigned since the photo, as Fifty said, but only slightly - its a fraction lower, a couple of mm wider and longer.

We can supply the Warden arms separately if you email us about it. The torsos are currently molded with the legs, so are not separate, but when we remold them (within a month) we are going to do the torsos separately. The plan will be to offer different versions of the Warden in future, as part of a planned CRANE Afterlife faction.

Ooh, fantastic, thank you for the reply. I'll start saving then, I have to do a decent sized order to justify shipping. (I was planning on grafting a Warden torso with arms attached to the Taurus.) If you are doing them soon in two pieces instead of the legs and torsos together, I'll have no excuse.

Fifty, that picture was extremely helpful, thank you. Is that your conversion?

Hey all, jumping into this thread for the first time with some Afterlife-related questions.

1. Will this cool Spectre operative ever be available for order again, or will it forever remain an exalted kickstarter exclusive? I'd give an arm and a leg to get a hold of one, metaphorically speaking of course.

2. Will the Republic Grenadier Sergeant come back in stock with the planned rollout of new factions (like CRANE or the rebels) this year?

3. What is the best way to get involved in the Afterlife community? I'd love to discuss battle reports, tactics, and units, but can't seem to successfully register on the Afterlife Chronicles site.

Thanks for all of the great work you do,
Van
US-based Afterlife Addict

@Barzam - I agree, the delivery times to the U.S. from Anvil are insanely fast. Typically it takes 3 weeks with customs, they shave it down to under 2 usually. Also, love your painting blog. Truly great stuff.

@Stormwall - no, that was done by Adam from the Anvil team.

@Van - Nice to know there are some Afterlife communities out there. I have an Afterlife thread in which I post, but it rarely gets much interest. I play regularly with Joel, from Anvil, and I am pretty sure he'd love to have more of a community. I've spoken to him about an "official" Afterlife Facebook group before, but at the current levels of players, I think posting in the general Anvil Facebook group and trying to get the thread here on Dakka a bit more alive is a better option.

I just had a quick look at the blog from your profile, and plan to have a better read of it in the near future. I've written quite a few scenarios that Joel and Chas are going to gradually put up on the Anvil blog. I'd be very grateful to have other people test them, and if you have scenarios too, I'd love to try them out. I try to write scenarios in a way that each side has a different objective to the other. I think things are a bit more interesting that way!

My own painting thread - https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/210/339830.page
An all-round Afterlife thread - https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/692818.page
Anvil Industry blog - http://anvilindustry.co.uk/anvil-blog (I wrote the jungle abduction and feint missions and write-ups. Excuse the poor writing on the feint attack write-up. I really ought to have proof-read it first!! Hopefully I'll have a chance to re-write soon and get Chas to edit). I've also got another mission to write-up that Chas and I played at the Anvil studio for fun - I had characters and Chas had lots of non-characters, just to see how we fared against one another. It got a bit silly at the very end with Natalya and Vargo Federici blasting away with pistols at a Crane Warden that went on for many, many turns.

Fifty, thanks for the information, as well as the links to these threads. I'm going to go ahead and start posting in the all-round Afterlife thread, though I agree that a Facebook page would be hugely fun and accessible. The thread you linked seems to offer the kind of nitty-gritty tactical discussion I was hoping for though, so good for the time being!

And cool! I didn't know you wrote those! My buddy and I here have both read your scenarios online and would love to play out any others you have cooked up. You can PM me anything you'd like us to test out, though unfortunately, I'll be off-grid for work for a few months starting the end of April. If you could get us started with one as soon as possible, we'll run through this weekend/early next week and post the results! I'm a big fan of scenarios as well. We did a cool one involving the assassination of Raul Tennyson on my blog, and have to post a few others. Last night was a jungle insertion raid by Lucretia Chang for unsuspecting civilian victims, repelled by the Republic.

Lastly, I feel your pain about the Natalya and Vargo shoot-out. Those destiny rolls are killer...but right when I think of declaring a house rule of +8 destiny saves, my opponent fails them. One story: in the assassination scenario on my blog, we decreed no cross-the-board sniper shots at Raul, until the last turn. The Republic got terrible rolls throughout the game, so for kicks and giggles, we allowed one sniper shot at the end of the game. Lo and behold, Raul failed his one and only destiny save of the game, and was shot in the head. The UC came crashing down in an instant.

Morning guys,

@Barzam - 1 week to the US is very fast, thats about as quick as it gets, glad it was speedy. Its frustrating that it can be quite varied, anywhere from 1-4 weeks.

@Van - Thanks for taking a keen interest in the game! Im glad to hear you are playing through some scenarios, do send us some notes on what works well!

1. No plans to release that spectre again, its a Mk1 design, but we have one kicking around somewhere I'm sure, put a note in your next order and Ill see if he can sneak into the parcel

2. All currently "Out of stock" Afterlife products will be available again later in the year when we have a chance to get them re moulded. I dont have an exact time frame on anything though.

3. The thread Fifty started is probably the best place to talk about the game - best to keep it all in one place as currently, the game community is tiny- something we hope to improve over the next 12 months as we have more time to develop the game and add new factions.
We are going to disable the Afterlife volumes website at some point, no one ever really used it and we never added all the planned content, but all the info from it will be kept and reuploaded elsewhere.

@Fifty - We are looking forward to the write up of the character mission when you have time! It was an epic confrontation!

I would like to get involved in a growing Afterlife community, but, er, I don't get any gaming time in for any system at the moment, and have a pile of unbuilt models growing quicker than I'm building them...

I've assembled maybe a third of my Kickstarter though. At some point, I'll be able to look for games/hook someone else into it.

If it is any consolation, Afterlife is literally the only game that has ever drawn me in other than 40k and BFG, so you are doing a lot better than Privateer Press, Mantic, Infinity etc from my perspective!

@sockwithaticket - possibly we could sell just the bottom parts, I'll try and sort it out next time we make a mould for the lance carbines.

@MOTN - they look great!

@Siygess - Hope you enjoyed the show, very nice looking Regiments models! I especially love the conversion with an Exo-Lord autocannon - I would never have thought that would work, but it somehow does!

Sorry for the general lack of posts recently, We have been madly busy in the run up to SALUTE, which is now "mission accomplished" for this year.

If you couldn't make the show, see what we got up to on our blog : SALUTE 2017 Debrief

At the moment, we are still in rest and recovery after working all hours recently prepping for the show, but if you are hoping for more Regiments, more Afterlife, or more conversion bits, dont worry, we will be back on track soon with a regular stream of releases!

Stay tuned for more!

Hi All,

Here at Anvil Industry, we have big plans for the future.

The list of new products I would like to release is seemingly endless, and includes a huge range of figures, conversion parts, vehicles and more for our Regiments, Exo-Lords and Afterlife ranges.

Its simply impossible to design and sculpt it all by myself, so, I am looking to hire a full time designer to work in our East London studio.

Why am I posting this for the world to see? because the position is not just open to existing miniatures designers. For the right candidate, with a solid base of artistic design skill, computer literacy and hobby enthusiasm, we are willing to offer full in house training in the software and equipment we use.

The successful applicant will need amazing knowledge and skills in the general area of "28mm sci-fi wargaming", but I am primarily looking for someone with enthusiasm, imagination and artistic flair, existing CAD skills will benefit an application, but are not essential.

So, if you love 28mm sci-fi and would like a career as a miniatures designer, head to our blog HERE to read the full job description and application guidance.

Closing date for applications is May 31st.

If you are not personally interested, but know someone who might be - please pass on the details or share the blog post in relevant forums/facebook groups.

I finished painting the first of my Trench Fighters today and I figured I ought to share him.

If I may, I'd like to make a suggestion as well. The Trench Fighter melee sprue could use one more grasping left hand. There aren't enough on the sprue to arm five guys with melee weapons.

Anvil Industry - August Final days: Medieval Mech Loyalty Reward + Civilian Disaster Response! @ 2017/05/03 07:02:28

Post by: Anvils Hammer

@Barzam - thats really nice! Do post full squads as you get them completed

The open hands on the melee sprue are just there to give people the option of having some figures hold them. I imagined most of the parts would be put on waists/backpacks.

I am planning to release proper "melee" arms sprues, along with more melee weapons and pistols with built in hands, which will facilitate entirely melee armed squads much easier.

Hello there,

I've just recently discovered your website and took special attention on the new trench fighters. I like how the brodie helmets look, but the one I really like is the one with the balaclava on. So here is my question: If I were to purchase some of the custom squads or the parts required to make them, would I be able to choose a certain part over others? For example, 10 brodies with balaclavas instead of 10 regular brodies (which come with 2 blaclavas I think)? I would mind paying some extra bucks for that possibility ...

Thanks in advance

Exciting opportunity for someone to work at Anvil - I'd loved to have gone for it, but sadly couldn't afford the change in salary :(

Anvil Industry - August Final days: Medieval Mech Loyalty Reward + Civilian Disaster Response! @ 2017/05/03 10:28:51

Post by: Anvils Hammer

@ImperialNoodle -

Thanks, glad you like them.

All the heads are cast on complete sprues, so we can supply a variety of sprues, but we cant supply all of just one head.
The only way it would work is if we made up a custom sprue just for your order, which isn't impossible, it depends how many figures you want to order. Send us an email with details.

@Ruglud - yeah we know the salary is likely to be a barrier - For experienced designers, we can consider paying more in line with other companies, but to take on a trainee, the amount of my time I need to invest means we can only pay a low starting salary, which I would expect to increase with practice and experience.

Post by: Anvils Hammer

@Unclebadtouch - Err, good question, its London so it gets cheaper the further out you go, but then the commute is longer and more expensive.. We have easy access from the Jubilee line and the DLR.

All.. we have a small new release while I am working on the next big release.

The Surgical operating table we made for our SALUTE 2017 game table is now available for everyones diorama and conversion needs.

I am hoping someone is going to put one in the back of a Rhino, Chimera, Valkyrie or similar to make a medical evac vehicle.

http://anvilindustry.co.uk/Boutique/special-edition/surgical-operating-table-chair

The next release, hopefully by the end of the month, will be Regiments parts to make Private Military Contractors/Militia/Gangers etc

Following soon after that, Jungle Fighters, then Dress uniform/parade parts, then I dont know yet... Some Afterlife at some point also.

Tox Troopers back in stock - yay!

And bought... and assembled and primed. They are lovely detailed models! Think they'll end up as Tech Thralls for my Skitarii... or possibly an entire Imperial Guard force for Shadow War Armageddon.

I also built 2 dozen Republic Grenadiers, which I've had kicking around for years, over the weekend, so I guess gaming The Expanse is on the cards too

@Miniholic - Do you mean, an M4 style weapon for the Exo-Lords? It's certainly possible, but wouldn't been until we revamp the range, which I am hoping to do later this year.

@GloomyFenix - Do you mean a weapon in the same style as the Trench Carbine, but longer, more like a sniper rifle? If so, yes I would like to add a set - likely as a specialist sniper weapon option rather than a whole squads worth of weapons. I dont have a time frame for this at the moment though.

@AAN - Thats really impressive!

I'm going to share it here so more people see it, and I would like to share it on our facebook page if thats ok with you?

I am hoping to add bionic arm, leg and head options to the Regiments range at some point, which will open up more options for robotic infantry kit bashing.

@Momontaro - glad you are enjoying the models! Gaming in The Expanse (I assume you mean the recent TV show (and book)) would be very cool - I would hope some of our Regiments or Afterlife model would be suitable.

All- the next Regiments release will be Private Military Contractors. Likely in a few waves throughout June.
Here is a preview of all 42 unique heads which make up the first 6 head sprues which will be released! Short Hair, PMC with and without baseball caps, mixed modern helmets, Night Vision sets, and Beanies (Adam insists they should be called Watch caps in a military setting).

head over to our facebook and comment for a chance to win the lot when they are released!

On the carbine pictured above.....can you make one without the carry handle? ( easier to mount scopes etc and reflects how they look today)

Possibly off-topic.. but if Anvil is looking for feedback..
Sadly this is accurate.. so much so that when the adjustment knob for the sight on my handle broke I could only find cheap Chinese knockoffs to replace it with.. seemingly nobody is making these anymore (that I could find). I think most branches of the US military are issuing M4s with ACOGs on them mounted on risers. Mine is currently a flip up rear BIUS with micro red dot, rail laser with pressure pad, and as soon as I get around to it a flashlight on a QD.. oh.. and I'm running a HERA CQR because I live in Cali.. I think most special op units and contractors are running similar but with a 3x magnification unit and some prefer a holo-sight like an EOTech. As a point of reference, I have worked in and around military and contractor types off and on for the last.. hm.. almost 17 years.

All of that aside, I do know people that prefer to use the old-school handles as their risers for the sights. It's not 100% obsolete, just not nearly as wide circulation as it used to be. Part of that is weight reduction. Part is redundancy. A proper sling makes it almost pointless. If you have optics on a carry handle you can't really use it that well either.

The A2 front sight is also a bit old school but 90% of rifles still have those, even if they don't have a carry handle. Changing out an existing A2 front sight requires a bit of work or a trip to the gunsmith. Competition shooters and some special operations commands free float their barrels and use rail mounted front sights.

Unused rails are also a mixed thing now. A lot of hand guards have the ability to add and remove rail units as needed to reduce weight. A lot of the older RIS and similar systems had kinda of a "set it and forget it" type of thing going on so you had to put covers on them. This is another mixed usage thing though. Some people still attach rails and leave them even though there's nothing on it..

If you want to set it up the way contractors are using them today though.. I dunno, that's going to be a mixed bag. There's no standard issue and they're professional gunfighters.. so they tend to customize them to what works on an individual level. They also use whatever works. Some don't run AR-15s
Spoiler:

At the end of the day, keep doing what you're doing. More options = more customization of course.. and I am really digging this lineup. When I can I'll be picking up a pretty healthy bunch of these.

Hey all,

@Kodos -

Plans.. lots of plans.

Upgrade legs to make models bigger is an interesting idea, I'll have a think about it.
The problem is that the new Primaris marines have larger torsos and chunkier arms, so the existing SM torsos may look a bit odd on larger legs.

The existing Widow Maker and Exorcist rifles we've been selling for a few years now should be a nice alternative to the new Bolt rifles, although we will likely take the opportunity to upgrade and revamp them a little.

@Kanluwen - I dont have any Infinity miniatures in our collection here, sorry. They are broadly similar to GW cadian/catachan heads (except our helmets are not as cartoony/chunky as the cadian helmet). If that is any help.

@Commander Cain - new Exo-Lord parts are planned, but we dont intend to release anything which is very similar to GW parts.
We want to provide parts which provide aesthetically distinct alternatives, and which wont get us in legal trouble!

@Frozenwastes - Have you seen this blog post?

http://anvilindustry.co.uk/regiments-v-skitarii

The conversion is reasonably straight forward.

@General Hobs and Mlaw -

I know its an older style, and yes, the plan is for a sprue of mixed M4's, some with and some without the carry handle, and a further sprue of mixed AR-15 pattern weapons, with a wider variety of configurations.

Other sprues of modern weapons are likely to be added in future depending on time. The AK47 esque weapon is done and will be released with the Jungle Fighters wave, which is the one after the PMC stuff.

Yeah, the Primars are not just Marines with larger legs but a complete new design
and I guess standard marines will vansih over time.

I once tried (4 years ago) on how to easy scale up older Marines with cutting of different parts (and placed 1mm plastic card in between)
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aLRWVSwigkM/UHnc9sj57cI/AAAAAAAAAzU/cYX-cJBATew/s1600/TS+WIP+03.JPG

best/final result was this
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_9fWjD0P8LY/UHnc_7ijdLI/AAAAAAAAAzc/eSmBxLnAxtI/s1600/TS+WIP+04.JPG

of course I also increased the torso (more like starched as the belt was lowered and added nothing to the total high of the model) and arms, but the most gain in high was by adding stuff to the legs (below feet, lower leg, upper leg and hips)

So just having larger legs with higher hips and maybe a belt on them (so that the torso looks more stretched by doubling the belt width) to upgrade existing models would help to keep them more in line with the Primaris (or use them as such)

Not sure if there is a big market for it or other models would be attractive (I can see Mantics Enforcer with Space Marine Arms/Weapons/Heads work fine as Primaris)

Were the PMCs going to be getting new arms and legs, or just torsos, heads, and weapons? Any new Afterlife releases in the works?

Anvil Industry - August Final days: Medieval Mech Loyalty Reward + Civilian Disaster Response! @ 2017/05/24 08:40:19

Post by: Anvils Hammer

@Barzam -

Wave One will contain heads, weapons, torsos and a full new set of legs with more varied modern day clothing.

Depending on parts chosen and paint scheme, they will be suited for a huge range of modern day style models from PMCs to militia, criminal gangs, covert operatives etc.

Wave Two, Which is almost a separate "Jungle Fighters" wave, will contain a full new "bare/T-Shirt/Rolled sleeve" arms set, plus new torsos and heads.

After that we will be returning to some more sci-fi esque and alternative history themes later in the year.

Afterlife - Two new factions, an expanded CRANE corporation, and resistance fighters, are planned this year, along with an expanded and revised ruleset. We are taking on a new miniatures designer from next month, so I am hoping that output of new stuff will increase.

Not a full army. Just enough for Shadow War: Armageddon. In fact, I got the Sergeant for my kill team finished today.

Now, this isn't pure Anvil bits. The head, right hand, pistol, sword, and shoulder pads are Anvil, the torso, legs, and arms are Mad Robot. I was concerned there might be some fit issues, but everything fit together seamlessly.

Hello Anvils,

Just a few words to thank you for your great bits, I ordered already twice, mostly guns accessories, they all look fantastic!

I will be waiting for your next releases before placing a new one, truly looking forward to it! when can we expect the jungle fighters & PMC to be out?

I am working on a few diorama project which involve a tremendous amount of different sprues from all kinds of manufacturers, including GW, FW, Anvil, Victoria Minuature, Madrobot and a few others.

Long story short, when trying to mix your fatigue legs with other parts, I noticed that they were a little smaller than the ones from GW for instance. Is it the same for your chests / arms / heads?

I have been looking all over the internet to try and find a complete guide of the different bits/minis producers to answer my questions, without any luck...

Once again, thank you for everything and I wish you a wonderful day!

Ps: truly sorry if this is a typically raised question, but I have done tons of research and can't seem to find the answer...

What from GW are you comparing it to? Cadians, Catachans, Admech, Stormtroopers, Scouts? Also make sure you're not ordering their Afterlife products to mix with GW.. they are indicated on the website as not being heroic 28... so they won't match.

Anvil Industry - August Final days: Medieval Mech Loyalty Reward + Civilian Disaster Response! @ 2017/06/13 16:00:38

Post by: Anvils Hammer

Evening all,

@G0urde - Thanks for your support, I am glad you like the parts!

Regarding scale and compatibility, as has been pointed out, the Afterlife parts are not compatible with Regiments or GW plastics.

The Regiments stuff is a close fit, scale wise, with GW plastic cadian, catachan and similar parts, but the Regiments parts are a little more realistically proportioned.

Certain combinations of parts work a lot better than others. Regiments uses a deeper (and in my view more realistic) neck joint, so some work is required to use GW plastic heads on regiments bodies, or regiments heads on plastic kits. Regiments heads come up a little smaller than Cadian plastics, our stuff is closer to Forgeworld kits in scale.

The regiments torsos/legs have the same size waist as Cadian plastics, so should fit well when mixed, but the cadian legs/arms are bulkier.

The Regiments torso arm connection points work well with Cadian plastics and with a bit of work will also fit with other arm sets from similar scaled kits. For example Ive seen skitari arms used well with regiments torsos.

Have you seen the comparison image here?

http://anvilindustry.co.uk/Regiments/Regiments-Range-Guide

scroll down a bit.

If you have questions about a specific combination of parts - feel free to email us and we can give more detailed advice.

@Big H - Massive problem? We believe the solution is simple, MORE choice. So we will keep adding to the range!

@Ketara - I would not recommend using MOTN heads, including Tox Troopers, with Regimetns stuff. MOTN stuff is more true scale, so the models would look a bit pin headed.

Private Military Contractor Release

A few people have asked about this.

We are rather busy lately (which is good) and Adam is on a two week holiday, plus I have a few side projects, BUT we are making solid progress on the PMC stuff and I am currently planning the release for end of June. There will be follow up "PMC 2" wave with jungle fighter parts in July some time, following on rapidly after the first wave.

We will get some more previews up soon, and I promise it will be worth the wait!

"Hey Anvil, Where is the PMC release you promised at the end of June??"

I hear you all thinking..

Well, it's delayed. There are various reasons but one main reason is that our 3D printer has had a few teething problems and has needed a lot of effort to get working again, which has thrown the schedule off.

The good news is that we have decided to invest some of our customers hard earned cash in a brand new, professional grade 3D printing machine, which means we will soon be able to make more accurate, higher quality parts faster and more reliably. Very exciting!

We've also taken on a new CAD artist recently, so its no longer me doing all the work.

This all means I am hoping this is the last time I have to type "sorry the release is delayed for a few more weeks"

I can't offer a firm date, but if we can get good quality prints, I hope to release all the PMC stuff in 2-3 weeks time.

--------

@NivlacSupreme - Thanks for your support of the range! much appreciated.

@g0urde - You are very welcome!

@Geisty - Yes, we plan on adding a full range of female models to the regiments range, but as it will require almost entirely new parts to do it justice, I don't have a timeframe yet. There are A LOT of projects I want to work on.

@Pseudomonas - Its a Firestorm carbine, temporarily unavailable, its possible it will be back in its current form, or as an updated and slightly revised product. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Widow maker carbines are larger than Regiments guns, but will fit regiments with a bit of modelling work, there is a full conversion guide here -

http://anvilindustry.co.uk/regiments-exo-lord-weapons

You can get some alternative beret heads here

https://madrobotminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9_10&products_id=17

Which I am pretty confident are the correct scale, but I am not 100% sure.

I am sure there are other manufacturers as well.

If you want to order a large number of figures from us, but dont need all the heads, contact us, we can remove the parts you dont need and either charge a lower price or include more stuff you do want. We are happy to be flexible to help you build the exact force you want.

Thanks all,

I will be back with some new renders soon.

Shame it's delayed, but I can wait a few more weeks.
Since the release is delayed though, can I make a request for one additional head type? Would it be possible to see a head with a balaclava, ballcap, and headset?

You can get some alternative beret heads here

Which I am pretty confident are the correct scale, but I am not 100% sure.

The firestorm carbine would be pretty much perfect for my needs, I take it that if it does make a comeback it won't be for a while? Would a suitably large order be enticement to dig out the molds?

Its not so much the scale that I am asking about but rather the 'neck connectors', I have had difficulties in the past with using heads from different manufacturers not being compatible with other torsos. Do you know if Puppets war heads will fit without much conversion work?
Spoiler:
These ones look like they should fit.

@Barzam - we are doing a whole set of heads with balaclavas, and a couple of those have light head sets. Do I understand that you want a head with a balaclava AND a ball cap (what we call a baseball cap over here)?

Im not sure how it would fit in with our planned sprues, but I could print you a 1 off certainly.

@Pseudomonas - How many would you need in total? I can find out if we can still produce them from the old mold, but we may not have it. It needs updating to the format used for the current regiments weapons (with pegs to fit in the hands) and Ill take the time to make a few changes, but nothing major. I dont know when I will get to it though. So much to do.

@Germanicus - Yep dont worry, Once we are done with PMC and Jungle fighter stuff, the next planned regiments release is dress uniform stuff and officer upgrade parts, likely along with some new Commissar models.

Wow you really are churning out this ain't you, can't wait to see how the PMC stuff comes out got my interest big time with that.

I like the idea of the balaclava head with cap anychance of picking a couple of those up ?

Will you still be venturing into the civilian dressed parts ?
If yes will you be venturing into the gang styled parts at all ?

Got an order building but want to wait for the PMC stuff so hopefully shouldn't be to long

I noticed that the heads you posted for the PMC regiment none have the cap on backwards, would you consider doing one ?

Some Gothic Void torso questions:

Say I wanted to make something like the phase lance or heavy phase lance that use the Regiments Specialist Weapon Arms. How do those pieces attach to the Gothic Void torso? Do I need to get the Gothic Void Torsos (plain back) version and then attach the power cells that come with the weapon? Or would the tube from the specialist arms connect to the Gothic Void Hazardous Environment Torsos and I'd just use the power cells for something else?

This is sort of what I'm talking about but I have never seen any of these parts in person. I don't really know what I'm looking at and the way the front of the torsos seem to have connection points to the back make me wonder what parts are involved.

It really doesn't look like this would connect to the shoulder pipes on the gothic void torso. Or are those connection points only on the torso piece itself and it's not the torso and power cells having fittings that line up?

Anvil Industry - August Final days: Medieval Mech Loyalty Reward + Civilian Disaster Response! @ 2017/06/29 23:11:03

Post by: Barzam

You will most definitely need the flat backed version of the torso. That version was designed specifically to be used with the special weapons power packs.

Hi everyone,

@LDD - one of the heads in the Baseball cap set has a cap on backwards, I felt more than 1 would be excessive.

Work on the PMC stuff continues, and the likely plan is a release of the legs, torsos and heads next week, with a huge array of weapon and accessory parts to follow a couple of weeks after that, along with a special bundle deal.

No plans for a balaclave/cap head sorry.

The militia leg and torso parts will be ideal for making civilian/ganger models.

@Pseudomonas - robed cultist parts are a planned release wave at some point.

@Frozenwastes - as Barzam kindly pointed out for me, you will need the plain back version of the void torso, and that would be automatically supplied with any specialist weapons.

---------------

While we are waiting on the PMC stuff to be ready, we have a small weekend release.

Here is the alternative Rhino model so many have asked us for over the years, we have no idea why its such a popular request

This was a one off mould for MOTN to use for some Dwarf cavalry, and we are selling a very limited run through the webstore.

@Anvils Hammer - Is there any information you could share of the dress uniform plans? I've been wanting to start a Napoleonic themed IG force for ages now, but it seems very few companies similar to yourself produce parts based on that era.

A shameless plug ( ), but I'd love to see a fusion between your Gothic Void helmets with a Belgic Shako style peak, raised front and plume - it would be perfect for a high-tech Napoleonic force.

but.. the Rhinos...

@Warpig and Barzam,

Regarding the dressuniform, you can see the legs in the regiments designer

regiments-designer.com

We are doing 3 different torsos including one with the napolenic style "cross straps".

There are so many diffferent possible styles of historical "fancy helmet" that we cant do all of them, but we will be releasing around 6-10 different head sprues, hopefully with options to suit everyones needs.
We will have a few sci-fi styled visors/re-breather options.

@Freddy - Yes we will make Pith helms, Ive just reviewed the various other companies which make pith helms (there are quite a few) and our version will be cheaper and have more options, so its well worth it.
We also sell the torsos, arms, legs etc to complete the miniatures which not all our competitors do.

@Mlaw - we are not 100% sure what the plans are with the cultist/traitor militia, but some kind of mutated parts are certain to feature, likey a "mutant arm" and "mutant heads" sprues for conversion.

I'd also like to make some Regiments zombie parts.

@Zontarz - very impressive work there! Thanks for sharing the photo.

Shako and cavalry/fancy helmet are definitely what I would be looking forward to. A pikelhaub would go nicely with the trench fighter range, especially if there were a version of it with a helmet cover. Any plans for a fancy cuirass too, or just stick with the Medieval Torso?

@Anvils Hammer - Thanks for the reply, it's nice to see a mini company interacting with it's customers!

Obviously, you won't be able to please everybody and as you say, the era has such a huge array of headgear being worn, but I'd suggest:

Spoiler:

Belgic Shako - Narrow topped, Quite different to contemporary Shakos.

Tarleton Helmet - Very popular in the pre-Napoleonic Era with it's fluffy plume.

Pre-1812 British Heavy Dragoon Helmet - Popularised by the French and British Cavalry.

French 1806 Shako - Wide topped, broadly similar to most other European Armies of the Era (Except the British)

Polish Uhlan's Czapka - Following their success fighting for Napoleon, many other countries adopted Lancer warfare - complete with their distinctive headgear.

Picklehaube - The most Germanic of all headwear! Used by both Germany and Russia

Kepi - French and American Civil War versions

Pith Helmets!

That list of 9 covers the majority of military styles, both Infantry and Cavalry, from roughly 1800 to 1914. Throw in a tricorn and you could take it back to 1700. Perhaps you could even tool them in such a way that you could buy the faces or visors separate from the headgear, as you have with the Trench Irregular heads.

Anyway, I've got way too excited for my own good here - keep up the awesome stuff!

Morning all,

Thanks for the many suggestions!

Belgic shako seems to be a popular choice so I have added that to the list, rather than respond individually to all suggestions (but I have looked at all the links, thanks!) its easier to just give the list of what we are planning.

Pickelhaube Helmet
Pickelhaube Shock Mask
Tricorne Heads
Adrian Helmets
Adrian Gasmask
Pith Helmet
Pith Helmet Gasmask
Bear skin Cap
BearSkin Visor/mask
Parade Cap
Belgic Shako
Cavalry helmet (metal crest)

Thats 11 separate sprues, which is about the maximum sensible number to include in any one release, so other styles are possible in future, but not with the first wave of dress uniform stuff.

As well as the legs which are already done, we are also doing 3 new torsos, including a more decorative Cuirass armour plated torso, a hussar style torsos with all the banding (commissar style) and the napoleonic cross straps torso.

@Warpig1815 - separate hats would certainly allow for a huge number of variants, but the irregular heads were an experiment and I am not totally sure I would want to do it again, they are fiddly!

@Nostrodamus - Yes we are going to likely do a small Kickstarter for regiments cavalry - parts to convert the infantry, and a range of different mounts.

Alien hybrid heads for the regiments are planned, along with some beast men heads.

Attached is a VERY WIP render of our modular Beowulf modular assault tank. I started the design yesterday because it was my birthday and I like tanks.. but I probably wont get a chance to do more work on it until late september now.

I know it should only have 1 drive sprocket. Rule of Cool applied liberally...

Morning all,

@Commissar Benny - I am confident you will not be disapointed if you choose to use our Regiments range. Let me know if there is any particular look or style you are after and I can advise if and when we might add that kind of part to the range.

@Theyredeaddave and Barzam-

Dress Uniform stuff is provisionally penciled in for a Late September launch.

Yes the Tank scale model is a militia guy

@Warpig - At the moment the Shako heads will not get a visor version the first wave. Its an option at some point but 10 head styles in one go is about as many as is sensible.

@Mlaw thanks for posting that up! You have Adam to thank for the KSG, he suggested it and was very keen to see it made!

@Custodian - We will be releasing the legs, torsos and heads in a few days time, as "wave 1", and at the same time we will put up a render of all the stuff to be included in wave 2.

@NivlacSupreme - We will release separate Epaulets, like our current shoulder pads, which can be added to any style of arm.

@Nostradamus - thanks for pointing that out - Being British I don't have any experience with guns in the real world, and obviously the reference images I used had the safety on (for very good reasons!)

For saving me some embarrassment (Ill change the files before we 3D print them) you've won yourself a couple of free weapon sprues, I've PM'ed you.

Thanks all!

A 'safety' is a switch/button/etc that, when engaged, prevents the gun from firing - for safety reasons, like not wanting to accidentally shoot yourself, the safety is usually 'on' when the weapon is not being used or about to be used.

I'm no gun expert, but apparently the models shown above all have their safeties 'on'.

Since most people will want to model these on miniatures engaged in hostilities...

@Vostok - dont worry, they will certainly still be produced, and they will be fully compatible with regiments arms!

@sierra 1247 - thanks very much, I am glad you like the parts!

I've just googled the Nock Gun, very interesting weapon, but no current plans for anything like that.

We are going to do a set of ornate sabres and revolvers for officers, but have no current plans for new weapons otherwise.

The Trench Phase Carbine will likely be the most appropriate weapon for most dress uniform figures, I would imagine.

Legs, Torsos and Heads will be available in a couple of days time, we are just building example models.

The arms and modern weapons (which require a lot more sprues and moulds) will be in a wave 2, which should be available in 3-4 weeks time.

Unless something goes horribly wrong, everything should be available by the end of August at the latest.

The entire project is overrunning by a few months due to some mechanical problems with our 3D printer, and also a whole load of new stuff we keep adding to the release list!

Love the KSG. My friend has one and we've shot it several times. Kicks like a mule but it's a freakin beast!

The KSG would help make good Satedan/Genii units.

@Barzam - Yes the builder will be updated at some point with all the new parts, and also new weapon options and shoulder pads which are missing.
Probably not immediately though.. we are busy enough just trying to get the parts out the doors!

@Mlaw - I challenged people to name the guns on facebook.. the most common error was actually mistaking the MAC-10 for an Uzi.

The pistols/machine pistols will initially be available on "mixed" variety sprues, but we will look at offering sprues with all of one kind on there.

lol, the mix up is actually worse than that on my part. I thought the bottom one was a micro uzi and the Tec 9 was a Mac 10. So definitely my bad. I will hide my head in shame now..

EDIT:
WOW.. the range has a LOT of great stuff. Some really crucial stuff in there for modern/scenario gaming. Fantastic release!

EDIT2:
Speaking of Uzis.. I don't remember seeing them. Are either the full size Uzi or the micro going to be part of this range? They were super iconic for the 80s and 90s action scene.

Evening all,

Attached - first look at the Militia/Jungle FIghter arms.

All sprues will have a mix of t shirt, rolled sleeve and bare, and some arms can be painted up as either rolled sleeve OR bare arm with cloth wrap/bandage, so plenty of variety.

@GloomyFenix - No current plans, sorry, but Ill consider it in future if we expand the trench fighter range at any point.

BrookM - the M79 has been available in "fatigue" style for a while now, did you miss it? But yes it will also be available in Militia arm version.

@Barzam - hold fire for now, It will be worth the wait!

@Mlaw- thanks very much! No current plans for UZI's, but it may appear at some point.

I like the look of that. Are the smaller framed weapons going to be fitted in the same way a standard pistol would?

As an aside.. your range is getting yuge! Is it difficult to keep up with all of that? I would assume by now you've got some sort of database set up.

edit: I just noticed the pegs on the arms.. I don't remember arms I've ordered from you in the past having those.. is that a new thing?

Mlaw -

Pistols and SMGs will be sold as a pistols sprue for one handed use. The Rifles which fit our regular rifle arms will be sold separately.

Certain weapons like the P90, KSG etc do not fit any existing arms, so will be supplied in various sets with arms attached, which allows for any style weapon and makes building easier.

Pegs have been a feature of Regiments since day One, but have not ever featured on Exo-Lord arms yet. Exo-Lords are overdue a revamp, at which point they will get new arms with peg joints, which are much nicer to build.

We've had a database in the website back end for years, it currently contains 410 unique products, and we will probably be close to 500 by Christmas with all the planned releases.

If you mean keeping track of stock control.. we are still as low tech as its gets: When a draw is empty, we make more, when a mould wears out, we make another one.

When we have a lot of orders, or lots of orders for one product, it can get pretty tough keeping to our target 1 business day shipping time!

Hmm.. I probably clipped the pegs and didn't think anything of it then.. ordered so much from so many places over the years..
I'm glad you've made a set of arms that will accept bullpups. Seems a moderately rare weapon type for modular kits. I vaguely recall my Killzone army having issues with those.. it's one of the things that has stalled that particular project.

It sounds like a real nightmare during busy seasons like Christmas then.. wow.

Exolord revamp? Might.. they be getting some Primaris compatible bits? I've been dying to see which of you beautiful 3rd party companies will be the first to offer such a thing. Especially character type kits.. seeing how expensive the GW ones are. P.sized tabard torsos and attachments would be insanely welcome for all BT and DA players.. just sayin

Post by: Anvils Hammer

@Mlaw - Its possible you clipped the pegs off at the same time as removing the sprue bar, as they are attached to it..

We are not making arms for bullpups - its impossible, rather we are making arms which will be cast on to the bullpup guns themselves. It means slightly more limited choice and posing, but its the only feasible way to do it.

Christmas is actually usually not so bad, people buy gifts in November, and spend gift money in January, but December is typically not so bad and we always close the company down for at least a week so we can all get some proper rest!

Yes - the plan with the Exo-Lord revamp is to offer some larger scale models and accessory parts. I don't have exact plans yet as we have a stupidly long list of projects to work on.

@Barzam - Sure, we will try and do those for the next wave, there are couple more head sprues I want to do as well.

M40, PSG1 - No

HK417 - No, because I did a 416 already

Arctic Warfare Magnum - Wish granted!

M82 - maybe, possibly as a set of mixed sniper rifles with the AWM and an M21

Ghillie suits - already planned, set of 3 - kneeling, standing and prone, compatible with all our regiments rifles.

Would executive style PMCs be plausible? Suit Jackets, button down shirts, and/or polos? TBH each of those torso options could be down with and without plate carriers or soft armor vests/flak jackets. Arm ideas. Briefcase, detonator, dufflebag,

Weapons
Uzi (lol), PDW (don't remember seeing one), M320, and maybe a Galil?

Any chance of doing a Solothurn? I was planning on converting IG Autocannons into Solothurns (still to be used as ACs) but the process is tedious.

A Couple I can think of:

Accuracy International AS50
SMLE No.1 Mk III (Maybe with 1907 bayonet? - seeing as I'm wish-listing anyway!)
Thompson M1928 SMG
L1A1 SLR
FN SCAR
L129A1

Hah, opening a tab to see what Anvil Industry is coming up with next is becoming quite addictive now! And as soon as those Dress Uniforms and Heads come out I'll be putting in an order - no fear.

Good morning all,

@Mlaw - We are going to do a couple of "conversion pack" sets with 3 figures in each, for more obscure uniform/figure types.

Currently we plan a set of 3 ghillie suits, and as you suggest, a set of 3 figures in suits - secret service style, compatible with any of our rifles/pistols etc.

Solothurn - No, but we are going to do a couple of other large calibre sniper rifles.
M320 will feature on some of the rifles, and may appear as a conversion part at some point.

@Warpig - L129 is pretty similar at this scale to the HK416/17 which we are doing.
We will try and fit a set of tommy guns in

@Scrub -

FNF2000 looks like the gun from Splinter Cell? Many hours wasted in my youth when I should have been studying...

I am planning to do an MP5K in a suitcase, with an optional lid and handle, perhaps with the guys in suits.

@Custodian - we have enough rifles coming out already, but Ill bare it in mind for a future release wave

@Barzam - We are doing regiments melee arms at some point, at which time loads of different melee weapons and pistol sprues will appear, including various knives.

All - I'm off on holiday next week so wont be replying here, the rest of the team will keep everything running in my absence and get in touch with them on facebook or email!

Do you have a reference image for the style of shoulder pad?

@Bull0 - Yeah a suitcase MP5K is pretty much madatory.. duel wield pistols, not yet, but we are going to do a full set of melee arms for regiments at some point which will be useable for duel pistols.

I can't come up with a shoulder pad that could be included, the ones you have in store are already great for nearly anything. Maybe something on the lines of this would be great for something like officers or "fancy" soldiers. It might be really tough to make that as an independent piece instead of something included in the torso's or arms' design, but it would be awesome if you managed to do it

@GloomyFenix - Dont worry, Epaulettes are already half sculpted and due to be released with our "dress uniform" release, which is due at the end of next month or possibly October.
They will have to be quite chunky to work over the top of arms, but I think it can be done.

We are also releasing 2-3 new styles of shoulder pad so we will have at least 8 designs in total.

@Taarnak - We went for the ASIGA Pico 2 HD 27um

Still playing with the settings to get perfect prints, but really impressed so far.

I actually have a question and a few requests:

First off my question: I have a fullsized imperial 40k army and all my Soldiers are Anvil Minis. I recently decided to swap the heads on every single one of my guys because I found your republic grenadier heads and I loved em. I ordered a hundred of those but now the heads are not in your store anymore.

Does that mean I'll never get any more of these? I mean, I totally want my army to grow even further but I'm a little concerned now because I dont want any other heads but these.
Can you still make those on demand?

Also I'd love some more close combat weaponry for your regiments line. Chainswords and more Pistol Options would be nice. I found your current Pistols to be a little too small for my taste.

May I also recommend modular Commissar and Officer kits? I'm struggling a bit to build Officers from your range.

With the new popularity of 40ks Imperial guard you may want to look into Cavalry too. I've got some 3rd Party motorbikes and I'd love some "riding" stance legs and power Lances from you

Post by: Anvils Hammer

Morning all,

@Theyredeaddave - No I am afraid the only arm options will be the fatigue arms, with various decorative shoulder pads including Epaulettes. We just dont have the resources to make that many new arm sets when each one requires 8 different moulds and more than 25 poses!

@Viking Child -Similarly with legs - The options will be the dress uniform with the stripe, or the existing fatigue legs for a more plain military style. We may release more legs in future, but I dont want to promise anything.

@Morkphoiz - We will probably not re-release the grenadier heads as they are, but its because we are planning to release a "regiments" version with an updated neck joint, and a slight upscaling to fit better. The size change and extra details will be small, so they should still look fine along side your existing troops. I am afraid I dont have a time scale for those at the moment.
If you dont want to wait, we can probably make/find some of the old grenadier heads, just send us an email with how many you need.

More close combat weapons are planned - we are going to do a "melee" range with new arms, and a massive selection of pistols, melee weapons and shields of various kinds. We are unlikely to make pistols much larger - I know ours are smaller than 40K ones, but I find those to be grossly oversized. We will keep it under consideration though.

More commissar and officer parts are already in development and will launch with our "dress uniform" range at the end of October.

Cavalry - both motorbikes, regular horses and various other more interesting mounts, is planned at some point, but I dont know exactly when.

------------------------------------------------

Hi everyone -

In the wake of several high profile companies going out of business, I just wanted to check in to say Anvil Industry is doing fine - I've just been quiet on Dakka recently due to a few holidays, and frantic hard work on a few side projects and the upcoming PMC release.

The PMC wave 2 was planned for the end of last month, then around now.. and now probably 2-3 weeks time.

The delays are due to a few factors, but the main one is that we've added so many new sprues/options during the project, we are now looking at around 30 moulds. Some parts are in production and building stock, some parts need to be 3D printed still, which will all happen next week.

The good news is that in this case, the delay means the release will be even more awesome than originally planned.

Thanks for your patience!

The "Dress uniform" release, which has also ended up with loads more awesome parts than originally planned, is now penciled in for launch at the end of October, a one month delay.

Between now and then.. we have something special planned for Friday 13th of October, this years Halloween release started as an idea for "just some undead heads for regiments" and has spiralled out of control as fast as any zombie apocalypse!

We are now going to be releasing :

civilian undead
PMC/Modern military undead
Trenchcoat/WW2 undead
Radioactive mutants

Complete with lots of head and arm options, and all fully interchangeable and compatible with the regiments range.

Below is a preview render of the civilian undead!

There are lots of plastic zombie kits on the market, and we will not be able to sell ours as cheap as those kits, but our models will be in ultra high quality resin, and will be compatible with regiments, so will be great for making all kinds of mutant/undead armies of all kinds.

More previews and artwork will be released nearer the time.

The next proper release is still PMC wave 2.

Thanks all

@Charax -

We are not sure yet.
They will be sold separately as mix and match zombie kits, and where possible, the separate parts will be put into the regiments squad builders as options, but we are not following the exact same format as the existing Regiments parts so not everything will work.

@HulkSmash - Regiments bionics are high priority.

Bionic Veteran Conversion parts (bionic arms, legs, heads etc) for existing styles will come first, hopefully in early November.
Full sets of Bionic arms, legs, torsos etc for making fully robotic regiments platoons will come later, I am not sure exactly when we will get around to it.

@Psychopomp - hooded/robed cultist regiments parts are also most definitely on our "to do" list.
I don't have a firm date yet. Sorry! There are so many different possibilitiyes for the Regiments range that at times the project seems to be without end - We will soon have 50 different head sprues options... and we will have 100 by the end of next year if it goes well..

yeah. I'm going to combine the missing squad builders with existing ones, to make things simpler, so the shoulder weapons will be options in the normal heavy weapon squad.

realistically it will be monday before I get around to it now.. I am tired and need to go to bed!

So much awesome, definitely worth the wait.

I think the pistols are possibly an understated MVP for the release.

I've been using the exo lord parts in conjunction with my mkiii marines to great sucesss - really enjoying them. I was about to place another order but some of the stuff I wanted is out of stock robed torsos, character mele weapons... is this stuff coming back - or will the refresh of exo lords mean new stuff will replace these parts?

I waited a while for melee arms to come in stock bought 30 when they did.

Guessing the main focus is the PMC and exolord bits when they have a breather.

Hi Everyone,

This is only really relevant to people in/around London, but we have a Job opening for someone to join our Resin casting team, and we may have more roles coming up in future.

Full details here - CAREERS AT ANVIL

-----------

Zombies -

Hot on the heels of our PMC/Modern release, I can announce that a full range of living dead/zombie parts will be launching next week! We've had loads of fun sculpting them over the past month, and I'll get some photos up soon!

The range will include modern civilian and military zombies, plus Trench Fighter zombies, and all the parts will be fully compatible with most regiments bits, so the modelling options are huge.

Great new parts!

The only thing missing from your militia style range seems to be some desert/head-wrap/ww1/Lawrence of Arabia style heads.

Very good for modern war gaming as well as the 'missing bit' for certain a popular war game faction being re-released in the next week.....

EDIT: Just realised MOTN have some 'desert raider heads' sculpts on their blog but not on your store. Any plans on stocking any more from them?

Will you be selling the current AR-15 variants as separate packs? There's one type I fancy more than the standard regiments-range carbines, but uniformity is kind of a requirement when building squads for use as Imperial Guard!

Ideally before Christmas so they can come out the same time as a certain black library book...

Morning all,

@Arbitorian - Yes, Desert style torsos and heads, as well as some new arms, are in the development pipeline!

@I-Bounty-Hunt - It depends which. The LVOA (bottom one) is already available, we just need to list it, as someone requested a few of those and its a cool sci-fi style gun. The other styles we don't plan to offer separately.

@Joe Rugby - I dont have a date set yet, but they are planned, and we are aware a December release date would be convenient.

-------------------------

Our leak has been leaked!

Those photos are from last nights "Zombie Speed Paint" evening - we (the company, and some awesome friends who helped out) painted 46 zombies in less than 3 hours, so the quality isn't our usual standard, but the hoard looks great!

Yes, later today, the dead will rise. Thirty unique zombie body sculpts, plus two arm styles and multiple head options, I'm excited!

What really sets our zombies apart from the various kits already on the market is that they are fully compatible with our regiments range, which opens up loads of modeling options for zombies with guns, we've even done a heavy weapons team!

I think ours are also the first zombies to be both 28mm heroic scale, and available in high quality resin (rather than boardgame plastic or cheap injection moulded).

I wont get a chance to post more stuff here till next week, but look out for the launch later today.

Cheers

So, I know you wanted to focus rule design on Afterlife, but now that you have zombies and eag-tag armed civilians, have you considered doing some zombie game rules? With how Afterlife works with its Breach & Clear rules, I bet it could be modified for zombie clearing scenarios and games.

We made a short set of rules for a zombie game last night. I think they could work very well. They were quite fun. I had to dash, so my hero made a suicide charge to try and make space for the others. Not sure if any of them survived.

I'm also interested in your boutique miniatures section - namely the chaos dwarves! Been looking for a lovely set of minis for a skirmish game I play, and they are perfect! A few are out of stock, do I'm wondering if that's for good, or it's simply on the back burner until other items are done?

Cavalry sabres and rapiers are the obvious selections, but I can't think about something different from this.
They're pretty solid choices though

Post by: Barzam

Cavalry sabers are what I'm hoping for. Any sort of dueling sword would be fine, really. Though, something like an epee would probably be hard to pull off.

Anvil Industry - August Final days: Medieval Mech Loyalty Reward + Civilian Disaster Response! @ 2017/11/03 07:06:06

Post by: Anvils Hammer

The melee set will be, as you suggest, a mix of sabres, some traditional, some with power or chain elements!

Rapiers/epees are unfortunately, much to thin to make in resin, you could convert one using a blunted pin if you wanted a truly hazardous but cool looking model (I'm not recommending any one actually do this)

We are off to CRISIS Antwerp, our first European wargames show, which is on this Saturday 4th November!

Good evening all,

Thanks for all the positive feedback, work continues rapidly on the Dress Uniform Release. Some parts are already in pre-production and 95% of the components are sculpted, so it shouldnt be too long now.

In the meanwhile, we have a little distraction for you all:

BLACK OPS FRIDAY : THEIR FINAL MISSION

Getting on for five years since they launched, I've decided its finally time for the existing Black Ops figures, and a range of other older Exo-Lord parts, to be withdrawn from sale permanently.

This friday, the entire Black Ops range, including several products which have been "out of stock" for some months, will be available at a considerable discount.

The sale will continue until the end of November, at which point lots of products will go OOP.

Next year some time, the Exo-Lord range will be revamped and re released in style, bigger and better than ever.

I asked them earlier this year if they planned to do some kind of Centurion equivalent on facebook and they said they were interested, so I take that as more of a "yeah we're going to make parts for the Primaris line but also other stuff too."

Bigger could just mean wider range and/or plans for Centurions, Terminators, and Dreads. They would of course want to make conversion parts for the Primaris line, they want to make money.

So many plans, but so little time. In no particular order -

100+ new sprues for the Regiments range
entire new Exo-Lord range with many more options
Reboot of AFTERLIFE with 2/3 new factions and a V2 of the rules
Lots of big vehicle kits, for both Regiments and AFTERLIFE
lots of random "that would be cool" product ideas including terrain and laser cut items.

Even though we have hired several new staff recently, it still may be years before we manage to release everything I've got planned, and by then we will have many more things on the list I am sure!

The BLACK OPS FRIDAY sale event is live NOW

We are not announcing it on facebook yet, so Dakka Dakka people - here is your chance to get an order in first and thus, get it shipped sooner than if you place an order in a day or two.

Apologies, I wasnt clear, none of the existing miniatures are being withdrawn from sale at any point (and if that changes, we will give people plenty of warning), I simply meant that we are planning to redo/improve the rules and release new models to add to the existing range.

Evening folks,

@Barzam - I hate to disappoint, the dinosaur was a "that would be cool in the artwork" addition, rather than a concrete plan for an upcoming product.. but if enough people are interested we may get around to it.

@Elbows - The trooper in question is currently standing out in no mans land reciting the Litany of True Aim, and will do so for a further three days before being allowed to rest.

@Gloomy Fenix - perhaps it will be ready before my next birthday? I cant promise anything.

@nivlac - its a little cheaper, but not massively so. As an example a 45 man platoon with no extras would be £112, but £118 if you bought a command squad and 4 10 man squads, again with no extras. There are also some discounts built into extra weapons and equipement.

Essentially, you save some money because its easier for us to pack a larger order of broadly similar models.

If you want to use the platoon builder, you can always email with questions and I will do my best to clarify.

Soon we'll be able to re-enact "Carry on up the Kyber". We just need some kilts for the devils in skirts

Anvil I notice that you've got a lot of parts that are interchangeable with Ad-Mech guys, but I am wondering if you'll be making alternate arms, legs, heads or weapons for them that look specifically in their style? I love your Tesla Disintegrator Rifles, and would want to use some for my miniatures, but converting current Skitarii Vanguard to have them holding them would be extremely tricky as their guns are held at different angles, and have the left hand molded permanently to the gun. The arms you have available are great, but look more fleshy and Imperial Guard than android-like. Any chance for some robotic style arms and open robotic hands so we can have a more Ad-Mech look to our conversions? Cheers!

I'd love to have some mounts for riders which aren't horses.

Anvil - any plan to bring back human scale bionics? I really liked your bionic legs and arms that you used to do.

Morning folks,

@Fenriswulf and Plessiez

As you both asking much the same question, Yes we have sculpted a number of regiments bionic leg, arm and head conversion parts, which will be release quite soon.

robotic "rifle arm" sprues to allow an entire unit to carry rifles wit cybernetic arms are planned at some point, but will be in a bionics wave 2 most likely. (Its possible we will get them done for the first wave).

Awesome! Gotta love it when parts makers listen to feedback! Looking forward to checking them out when you release them

Edit: If you're also able to make alternate magazines for weapons like the Skitarii Galvanic rifle (more like a Lee Enfield/Transuranic Arquebus one would look good), then I would be even more happy. Not a fan of the revolving cylinder for Skitarii guns.

Shame, no dinosaurs. Still, I'm eagerly awaiting this release. The sallet helm is unexpected. I guess now we'll be able to make these guys.

At first, miss-read the current title of the thread as "Regiments Dress Unicorns coming soon!"

I'm almost a little disappointed to learn I was mistaken. Nice models thought!

Spectacular work coming out of Anvil lately! I'm holding out for the bionics at the moment but those dress uniforms are going to be hard to resist.

Any chance of sneaking some more Ancient style stuff into a later wave? I'm waiting to build my Prospero Spireguard army until someone gives me some nice Assyrian style helms and I suspect that with the dress uniforms and some of the trench fighter stuff I would be able to create something amazing!

Spoiler:

Evening all,

@Fenriswulf - I'm afraid separate mags in regiments scale is unlikely at the moment. We do some for Exo-Lords which are larger but might work.

@Barzam - Thanks for posting up the photo!

@Commander Cain - Bionics should be out some time in January hopefully (could take longer) They will be the next release after Dress Uniform and the Christmas break.

Thanks for the helmet suggestion. Its unlikely any time soon, but I'll certainly consider it for a future wave.

@Kingrickrich - Generic Gang fighter parts (which we could make without being sued for Trademark infringement :p), are a possibility but not a high priority at the moment.

@Alpheacho - Hello!

Got any exact dates for release?

Do you work with Mad robot miniatures at all? because those bearskin heads you put out look almost exactly like the ones mad robot have done, aswell as the turban heads?

@Nivlac - No exact date for anything. We have stopped giving out release dates, even rough estimates, because we missed them with such embarrassing frequency!

@STG - Nope we are not affiliated with Mad Robot.

I am aware that they've recently release bearskin and turban heads, but it's a coincidence that ours are coming out around the same time.
There are only so many ways to design a heroic scale bearskin, turban, or any other product based on historical reference files, so its inevitable that some of our products will look very similar.

The same goes for any other company producing human scale parts based on real world stuff

ALL - Ive just put up a competition on our Facebook page, a chance to win 10 of the figures shown below, shipped asap before the main release.

https://www.facebook.com/AnvilIndustry/

and if you want to get all the updates sooner, hit "Like"

Thanks

Fantastic, love the helmet looks a bit like Bavarian from 1870 imho.

Cheers, fantastic work!

Edit: Any chance for tricorns? Chaos Cultists (male and female)?

It occurs to me that designing a rank system may have been slightly overdoing it.

Loving your work Anvil. I'm waiting for a recent order in the world, but some of these new bits may well result in more orders soon.

A question for you: are you likely to offer any female parts in the foreseeable future?
