mxwllmdr wrote:I really rather like the idea of a chaos squad based upon the enclave soldiers.....
They do seem a bit more chaosy with the original bug faced helmets and the Hellfire armor has that pig face look, and the main armor in FO-3 seems "devilish"
well...as much as i like the current discussion of Sm minis converting to brotherhood minis...but for now i won´t burden myself with yet another new project...however cool it might be^^ so i won´t touch SM models any time soon^^
sorry guys...tho i do have to say... i want to see that done too^^
i am currently doing research work for the proper making of a paladin knightclass titan... with the tubes in my possession i really want to build something big this time...
Automatically Appended Next Post: oh...forgott to ask... did you ever use plastic glue on ping pong balls? does this work?
Quit worrying about glue Vik, if plastic glue doesn't hold it CA will, no matter what the material is (unless it's the evil, communist Chinese rubbery plastic)
thans not-u and fatty... will try all out in the fullness of time...
dave...:
this will definatly influence my current project big time... holy tincan....
and note here... someone actually already did a scratchbuilt of liberty prime... simply awsome...
and if you scoll donw even further...there is your idea for a ruin...archeotech knid of building!!! dave this should be your next totally unigue building project be...! i beseech thee^^
Diselpunk? A new word or different to steampunk? Let me geuss set in the 1960's america where the threat of a nucular war was going to happen or is that just falout?
Pretty much precisely. Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow was pretty Deiselpunk, as was the Iron Giant, and early Superman stuff. Big Dynamos, early, badly understood Nuclear stuff. Though that's often more properly called RadPunk or NuclearPunk. DieselPunk can also refer to MadMax style stuff, where fuel is the commodity and big, belchy trucks are the transport of the hour.
soooo... if i call you now MM you got problem with that max?^^ lol...
not_u patrick is just so classy funny... without him spongebob wouldn´t be complete^^
and...max^^ looking forward to your joint tut...
oh and not_u... as yet never heard of conquest? the pic looks like warmachine to me?
and the iron giant curiosly i haven´t yet watched but intend to do so soon...
so mates... i had a bit of a creative moment today... was waiting to bring my wife to bed^^ and then i had to sit at the desk and saw a rocket head in half...if you look into my material gallery...i always go treasure hunting on new years day... and we collect with the family plastic garbage from all the fireworks... well one of those firecracker caps i sawed in half and they now serve as a shoulderpad on both sides... together with tape and some tapegluerolls...this makes the mockup upper half of my paladin knight...
be as cruel as you can get...:
I like the idea of the shoulder pads, and the ball joints seem pretty cool, but I'm not sure about the arms... I assume it's yet to have an elbow/forearm, so it's still early days, but it seems a tad too skinny for guard. Maybe a few wires/gubbinz will help it, but I can't really say much at this point.
i think you are as much to the point as it can get here^^
it is a mockup... the arms will be thicker...of course... i used ballpen caps atm for the upper arm section...elbows and under arms will follow... the balljoints are actually christmas plastic balls... which have this tiny thingy where they hang on to the christmas tree... there the cpas hold on to now... it fits like a glove...originally i plan to use PVC tube to make the limbs from... i am a bit at a loss here as to how long the limbs should be... so the current cpas are more there to show the general idea that is currently spooking in my mind...
and of course there will be details... how much i am currently thinking about...with no aparent answer yet to that question...
Yeah may be friday til I get that tut up. stuck at work late today and tomorrow. what you got is good. yoi may not need it.
Yeah, MM is fine..... No one understands it when I tell thwm what it really stands for anyway.....
As far as how long arms and legs should be try buying a wooden artist mannequin. you can get them in several sizes. i used to have one in 12 inches but i know they are available in 6, 12, 18 and 24 inches and are available in any fine art store and some craft shops. i actually use them for proportional comparison an some of my drawings....
Automatically Appended Next Post: They are also poseable......
those artist mannequin´s are rather interesting... we own one... one of the puppets around 30CM tall ones i think... need to get her out... i was eyeing for half a year in a crappy shop a very small one...then when i finally wanted to buy it it was all gone...darn^^
at LDD... i was very lucky to salvage two balls from the christmas tree ...they curiously not got shelfed again...
at dave... no...no stubby lascanons here... i plan to make a fist/open hand...maybe with that flamer attached i did earlier on...and one with some sort of gatling gun attached...
what i am currently figuring out too is how to do the abdomen, hips and so on... hopefully a solutional inspiration will happen to me^^
a giant =]_= on the chest...hmmmm i have to think about that RW^^
You can rent it for a mere 2dollars a day, oh and have some beach property near a nice place in the Ukraine, the sunsets are a little oddly colored though, and you must sign a waiver regarding the growth of extra body parts.
say thank you to rusty... how tall is just the question i am currently no able to answer...depends on length of limbs and torso...and these i havent figured out yet...
and to all killers out there...:
my face will hit your fist so hard it´s gonna bleed...your fist that is...
*shudders...mordain...zombie hulla sith... the dark forces are very strong in this one...
well mine is in the cupboard...deeply hidden...needs to be taken into fresh used living room air^^
not_u... i need to ask this question ...even if it makes me seem like a noob or worse... who is that beautiful damsel in your ever changing avatars? i have no clue...
at max...8.5 " is about 22 cm... hmmm... that helps a lot...i needed a means to nail this build down on something...! also...by all means...get that dreadknight and do your own! indeed!^^
today i payed around with materials to build up shape for a hipsection... no picture worth footage tho... but i will go a bit heavy duty one this build... it will involve on some parts even screws for better structural support...
also my wife surprised me with some cable clamps...they will be the base for the hands...so i decided today^^ also some curved pipe sections...maybe we even go shopping in a hardwarestore tomorrow for further supply...
Viktor von Domm wrote:not_u... i need to ask this question ...even if it makes me seem like a noob or worse... who is that beautiful damsel in your ever changing avatars? i have no clue...
The previous two were album covers for Mami Kawada, this is a different person.
When you first enter the strip, that damn Sinatra Song is playing loudly, just like at the beginning of Casino (or Goodfellas?) , I think when DeNiro is doing the introductions of all the mobsters.
I ripped all the audio files out of the PC version of the game and made a soundtrack for FO3 complete with Three dog radio banter inbetween the songs, if anyone is interested.....
I very much preferred Three Dog's Capitol Radio to Mr. New Vegas but the music on both was equally cool. I felt like not enough period original pieces was included on the FO:NV soundtrack, However....
I just liked FO:3 better than NV, I prefer the East Coast urban ruins to the desert myself. ALmost nothing is irradiated in NV, everything is dirty and contaminated in FO:3
I only meant why is the beer not in the vending machines...
And what the heck is with the Nuka Knock Off Summerset Sarsparilla?!?!?!?!?!
Sorry, FONV was a great game. I just felt the story could have been deeper and the mechanics could have been simpler. Didn't care for the food recipe aspect or the crafting aspect....
lol...is this my thread or daves munda thread... seems the two are becoming highly alike... i think i have to get the game next week...from the store...it needs to be done...and damn quick at that... i loose out on so much fun it seems...
the little side project that got this thread started...remember the imperial steampunk army? well it turned later on into a small side show of robotmaking...still with me? well...i will now anounce a newsreport on that...
we, that is the Corporation of Rivetto Prodruction , CPR for short... proudly present to youthe willing buyer, now the option to get your very own copy of a fully kitted Rivetto MK III robot making kit... yeah you heard it right... a fully equiped Rivetto robot... ready for action ...
we accept oders in the next 24 hours...and try to ship during this decade^^
by the way... i have made some progress on my knight paladin...still no pics but i have made some nice developments... hopefully i will be able to show you some not mockup pics soon... if work progresses as is i hopefully will be having the basic structure for making it stand upright...^^
cheers, and keep the FO3 discussion going!!! but not with too much spoilers...ah kidding...the way my mind goes i have completly forgotten about all that you said by the end of the week for sure^^
at max: ^that my friend! ...updates will follow during night time CET...i have built the shoulder neck part today... i got me some liquide nail stuff... it is a nice material you can almost use for sculpting and i use it currently to fill up cracks and gaps and also to glue things to things^^... stay tuned chaps and until then...off topic as usual^^
at LDD... well...i asked the wife if i could get FO 3 and she said...yeah of course, why not...and i was like
so monday i will go to the shop and get me my copy
and again...now we can look forward to you and some urgh...ly....vids? *cringes, shudders*
at hmelrose...just looked at dave´s thread...i have a slight deja vu feeling...i think the matrix is collapsing...^^
anyway...promised an update...and here it is...:
i mentioned in my last post the awsome power of liquid nail...and it is awsome... and when you add a bit of water you can smooth it down a treat!
i am still in the process of filling up the hollow helemt and the torso is shaping up for now...will flesh thout out tomorrow too i hope... gotta make do with the time still left before FO3 hits this computer^^ the legs still trouble me but i think i can cope with that^^
Oh yeah, make sure you get the FO-3 with the (Down Loadable Contenet)DLC's included, the Gamer's deluxe edition, or look up what it is called in Germany. You should have the Outcasts DLC/Point Lookout DLC/The Pitt DLC/Broken Steel DLC(Allows you to hit level 30!)/Mother-ship Zeta DLC.
All of them make it awesomeness to work with and each has wepons and armor and other options to play around with. Also, you may get more Bot-spirations for your merry band of mechanicals from those!
fatty wrote:that's true.
and mister gutsy is awesome! how ever mister handy would be more appropriate for Vik
I can see Vik making both. One a battle lusting death machine, the other, a gentleman's gentle-bot ready to oversee the household, run errands and offer support.
haha yeah. i never played FO 1,2 or 3.......
but i have new vega's and i like the game even though there are a few bugs in it. i had a character that didn't level very anoying
lol...hazzer i yet have been saved by crappy politics^^ germany wont see^^ *grumbles*
as for the mister handy /gutsy discussion... i can see both for future projects... the gutsy as a sort of ...like we previously discussed, warden for the medich...
and a mr handy... now that seems most likley to be some sort of either com or standard bearer... or even if done right the commander...
and it depends... if i DL FO3 from steam it will be the version there or in germany it is called game of the year version and will come with lots of community content and stuff...mods and such things...
at LDD... for now nothing in return... she compared it to my former WOW account fees and said that this was ok...yay!^^
and yep...they are the tops of rockets... if you have them... use them... the saw very badly and file even worse and are to be drilled the worst as the plastic of mine is very brittle but the shape is just priceless...
picupdate of a fully glued and brought together torso hipsection hopefully in tonights update!
That's what you want Vik, the Game Of The Year Edition! It has all the DLC. Including the Pitt (city of Pittsburgh) (It really looks just like downtown Pittsburgh of today too!!
no it is just some stupid rights lawyers that have made rules that some vids can´t be seen in germany... for my knowledge no other country has these viewing issues ...it is totally unnerving... as i can see so many vids, but sometimes music or film related stuff gets blocked here...
oh...well...i am totally torn between all the things i want to do...tho i have to admit...i am not the detail painter myself...so painting up lil men always brings me to frustration...so building bigger things like vehicles is much more intrinsic positive feedback...but yeah i gotta revisit the lil men too... and soon...^^
and about the titanic...hurhurhur... update...in the night time... i had to flip the torso upside down for glueing and thus it needs to be a bit more cured to make a pic...

Well start of small then work up to large. (painting modles I mean)!
Totally agree with HAZZER and don't forget practice makes perfect……. I am thinking of using Empire great swords with a mix of guard with a little steam punk feel thrown in on top of all my other half finished projects
Paint takes a bit of getting use to I found, stages is the only way to get the finish you want and don't rush it, thats how accidents happen
If you get it on steam, be sure to add me ^^
also, mods for fallout are pretty useful/funny/epic, though quite a few of them are... *ahem* about the opposite gender, if you know what I mean
This blog is amazing; read through nearly every page. I have lots of inspiration ofr my own steampunk Imperial Guard army. Keep up the absolutely outstanding work!
i am sure i will try to get my fair share of...*ahem* mods^^ i grab what i can... *nudge, nudge, nudge*
well i can do a decent paintjob if i feel like it...but even the slightest higlight gives me the creeps to do^^
at LDD... greatswords witha steampunk feel to them... love to see a first try out mini of yours... grey/green even^^
so i promised and now i deliver:
again putty made my day... i know it looks like i just globbed the chewing gum on the pelvis of the knight... but that is this liquide nail stuff i keep jabbing about... it can later on be sanded acordingly to the needed look... i aplied it now rather sloppy but all will be mended in the end... still not to be seen are any froms of limbs as i am still figuring out the length of siad limbs... i have recently realized that the cut pipes i made would make too long legs... so i need to resize them...
anyway...torso:
cheers, vik
Automatically Appended Next Post: Hello recycledgenius!!! i must have updated over your recent comment^^
well thank you sir! you read through all of this? dear lords... i hope you haven´t sustained any serious harm while doing that
be sure to give a hint of your work... i see you are either a freshman or a longtime lurker^^ and thus i welcome your apeareance here with great joy^^ and a very promising sig i see^^
the hips are made from
a: a bobbin
b: two empty rolls of sellotape...the clear rings you see...
c: two caps from cough syrup bottles...the white caps on the outer positions... the hipsection is glued together with plastic glue... but needed two days to cure fully...
Looking good so far, great use of objects from the house I have to say Vik when it comes to recourses you are THE MAN !.
In the after mass of the post apocalyptic war you will be called upon for you're scavenging skills
I am just picking parts that might be of use at the moment for the S-P army, but as soon as I do something to show you will be the first to know
I also want to use the Victoria lamb Rough riders in it as well, her sculpts just scream S-P to me, however converted mounts is a must some clockwork legs and maybe a complete clockwork mount
yup... i spent all my 10mm rounds against some nasty giant ants... now i am slugging with a baseballbat again...
at LDD... yep...´m a scavenger by heart^^
the victoria lamb stuff is most excellent! i got the highlander kit from a friend here on dakka as a present... joeren!
and i have to say i love their stuff!
as for a mechanical steed...hmmm... i know there is a mechanical steed available with a general from WHFB but that might be a bit pricey... maybe you would be willing to sculpt your own ...i think you could come up with a good product on your own...
Early on, just scavenge what you can from mailboxes/garbage dumpsters, and old ruined homes, cans and bottles anything so that you can get bottle caps to trade for more bullets and other stuff. Also, do not let yourself be surrounded, best to run if you can and lure them singly. That includes Raiders. Take and upgrade armor, there is all kinds to do so, also so nice to fix armor and weapons with copies of same kind off those badguys.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh yeah, use the V.A.T.S to get better damage as well. Helps save bullets, that Pipboy-3000 is a miracle!
at fist i didn´t get what that V.A.T.S. was... then after accidentially hitting the "V" button i understood... now i just have to really get to know that system... and yeah... i look in every non empty canister ...thank the lords that at least the game is fair enought to say whats empty and what not...
V.A.T.S. is your best friend! Though at later stages of the game V.A.T.S. gets slightly boring and shoting without it is very disturbing, well, at least for me...
well i managed quiet a lot of headshots already without vats but i see that i would have saved lots of amo...i am rather stuborn when it comes to RTFM^^ but i should do that now^^ by the way... what key is the screenshot option?
well... the FPS thing is something i have to get used to now... all the other parts of the FO saga where not the action type... you could plan your movements better back then... now there is so much dynamics...ohoh^^
Automatically Appended Next Post: will try that out too... i have the hardcopy version so to speak... but i think it is the same... wouldn´t make much sense to be otherwise...
Aye, mods should save you a lot of troubles, indeed.
I've played the game right after the relise, so there weren't any mods at all... But there were a lot of swer words, whan I tried to play the game FPS-style!
By the way, El Vic, do you have the game on Steam?
er...what does that mean on steam... i didn´t buy it on steam if that´s waht you are asking... i wlaked to a shop here... or do you mean i could register the game there?
Behind Megaton, near where some mole rats spawn, there is a hollowed out rock (you can see it has sticks pointing up around it) in that hollow rock is a sniper rifle and other goodies, use it
Go to the Scrapyard and kill all the raiders but don't hurt the dog (Dogmeat) he is the best companion you can get right now- he basically acts as a Tank for you, holding aggro so you can shoot them from a comfortable distance. Dogmeat will also take care of molerats and other bugs without any help from you for the most part. If he dies, or gets lost he will be waiting for you outside Vault 101.
Use your map to quick-travel around once you have explored map areas.
I agree, the sniper is damn useful, but I've commented about the arms for the fourth time now, with my internet not letting me post it I think the weapons wound be better in place of the wrist/forearm, rather than wrist/shoulder mounted, though that's just personal preference as to how I like my killing machines
now that is a very good hint dave... or better two! i will try to do that... by the way... has anyone ever felt a bit dazzled after playing FO3 after a while? should i visit a doc? (no kiddin` here)
thanks max for the hint too!
and dave... yep...i am knee deep in junk^^ the wasteland is calling^^
at ishkatar... should i register? i usually don´t do that... beside i wasn´t pushed to do that by the instalation process...and if i do...what benefits would be there? i am rather unknown to the game in general...what could be achieved by a registered game at steam?
Automatically Appended Next Post: at shrike... shoulder mounted weapons... hmm... that could be done... like the rocketlaunchers of a madcat...i think that could be looking good if i can manage it right...
beside each arm will get a clamp looking hand... so that might be another reason to make the guns shoulder positioned...
AFAIK, nothing immediately obvious, though you can communicate with friends like moi, access all your games more easily, and steam gets you access to special deals (e.g: I got new vegas for something like £10/£15 on thier christmas holiday sale)
now that IS a bargain to look forward to... it is still in the shops at roughly around 30€s and on steam even more... so that would be a bargain as a said... but how do i do that? i have no serial number??? i was rather baffled as to not being forced to type in 16 digits for activating the instalation...
Viktor von Domm wrote:at ishkatar... should i register? i usually don´t do that... beside i wasn´t pushed to do that by the instalation process...and if i do...what benefits would be there? i am rather unknown to the game in general...what could be achieved by a registered game at steam?
Well, Shrike said it all... I have to add that for the last year Steam became my favorite gaming software for an easy access game library, shop and great discounts, which occur quite often. I've bought a lot of good games for a laughable price.
You know, when you don't have to lift up your butt from the chair to get a new game - that's just priceless!
Yes, easy access to lots of demos too, which can be converted up to the full games for cheap in many cases too. Plus those damn free weekends for games to hook ya in ...and they take paypal too easily Evil little app this is
Vik, can you please take one of the !!! off the title? It gives the spam warning everytime we reply, thanks dood
yup...strictly any better game will be only played on PC... i do won a WII but it is only for family gaming...and it is currently collecting dust like anything...
Viktor von Domm wrote:yup...strictly any better game will be only played on PC... i do won a WII but it is only for family gaming...and it is currently collecting dust like anything...
Well, trying to avoid carpal tunnel by playing the game on a console, and the controls I have grown used to. Just can't use all those gimmicks the PC version software has.
a mere 20"? you gotta be kiddin... i own one of that size too and i think it is huge...well...so much for that self esteem...^^
i am making progress... i have a chineese assault rifle now and can shoot precious 5,56 amo^^ yay... also i begin with small quests... man that look and feel of the game is so depressing... i think come the armageddon i better kill myself just right at the start of all that wasteland mess...
met a girl...said she was bobytraped...then she blew off... man those raiders are a bunch of creeps worth a bullet...
second time of writing this *sigh*, but I have 30 steam games, 11 of which were under £5 or free, 1 of which is a demo.
but yeah, fallout is pretty grimdark ^^
I think the first place I went was some kind of supermarket with four or so raiders inside... took quite a while to take them all out with a small pistol, I can tell you ^^
I think I have about 11 hours played on FO3, but on FO:NV it's nearer to 115 or so... and don't even ask about oblivion or skyrim... eesh...
lol.... the supermarket i am about to visit... tho this will happen tomorrow as i am too pished right now.... my eyeballs feel as if they want to get all runny and start to melt out of their sockets...urgh...
better get me some sleep...now where was my RL PIP Boy?
One thing I saw once (not sure if actually for sale or hand-made), but it was a wrist-strap for an iphone, which is in the style of a pip-boy, which is pretty cool (though a tad nerdy).
but yes, vik- you'll get used to hours of screen-staring... MWAHAHAHAHAHAH!
Oh, and my internet might FINALLY be fixed The amazing breakthrough was... I'm not really sure, it just started working
dsteingass I am rather disappointed at the lack of DoW in your collection of games on steam, tut tut.
Viktor von Domm I used to play way too much wow, before I got a new job and a wife. I used to play 55 hours a week on top of my full time job. I decided it was too much and I needed more of a life lol, so I quit.
The Titan is looking coolio, looking forward to more limbs
I have FO:3 in my draw somewhere, I started playing it but never finished it. and as I only have 2 nights a week for painting now (4 if I find the energy after work on a Friday and Saturday night) I can not split that time any further by pc gaming :(
I have a 20” widescreen monitor, and a 19 inch normal monitor for my set up at home
Mouse and keyboard is defiantly way better than a controller for twitch gaming.
Yeah, but with V.A.T.S. Fallout 3 is far from beeing twitchy... Yet again, after playing Gears of War, Halo and some other shooters with controller, I can say it's not that hard to pwn Amyway, it's a holywar topic, so we better quit... A matter of preference it is, after all
DoW series are quite nice indeed. I've spent a lot of time playing those games. Though DoW2: Retribution was full of disappointment for me =/
i only ever played the demo for DoW 2... the costs for the complete game always put me off... tho that might change with a new job...extra money always seeks a way out of my pockets...for some reason
now that i ahve fully explored the V.A.T.S i can say... with that...rocking some evil schemeing riders is not that hard anymore...in fact the supermarket was easy cake... and then i headed to greyditch or sumthin` and i am now about to go down that station and erase all fireants from the world...or at least from that corner... man that game is huge... one of the biggest sandbox games i have seen... in fact the sandbox aspect is what makes it for me a tad difficult... you have so many options...you sometimes just stand there an gawk around...then you get eaten^^
by the way... sometimes the game reminds me strongly of the gothic series...anyone knows these?
and ishkatar... i like how you sooth the raging nerdy masses^^
@M0rdain: Well, may be that's just me and my nerdy exactingness... But I hated the lazy campaign design along with an extremely stupid AI, when you can complete nearly every mission with only Cyrus and sometimes with help of The Ancient, bearing a long-range Plasmacannon As Dsteingass said, it's not as awesome as it could have been.
@El Vic: Well, that's the part of my RL job
And it's so true about games, based on GW settings, though some of oldies were great, e.g. Chaos Gate. As for the Space Marine - it was even more disappointment for my taste. And I paid almost 50$ for preoder! Stupid me...
Poor ishkatar, i am enjoying Spacemarine. The Multi player is great fun. Barely scratched the single player yet, I am making the most of the 2 months of gold membership for £2, then i will get back to the single player (that and I am stuck atmlol)
yeah,
Good start on your Knight... Scale is always difficult when it comes to epic, how big is this thing going to turn out?
I think the epic model is about 4 times the size of a marine.
ok...panic... i see my error... the problem is... it will be debatable as to what it in the end will be...either knight or titan... depends on what size it settles... and it will be a 28mm scratchbuilt... i showed a comparrision shot of the upper torso compared to an IG...
so i cant say how big in the end it will get...
et ishkatar... i know^^
and dave,,, yep... i think it wold have been a perfect oportunity to have tankrushes and waves and waves of guardsmen to be rushed into battle... like we used to do in C&C back in the days... limitations really ruins this amry... but same is with orks then...after all horde armies are in fact hordes^^
Being an American, everything is in Standard, but I find Metric more conducive to a system of interchangeable parts when building in plastic. It helps that most of my plastic is in metric too
Metric is more useful for Math. Standard/Imperial is better for actual measuring, simply because it's more natural and instinctive. Inch is a thumb tip, foot is a foot, yard is a stride or about an arm length.
It looks like it will be a knight paladin by the looks of it. that one comes with twin linked bolter, knight cannon (it shoot heavily armored man on horses!) 2 structure points and one void shield at the cost of 300 points
thank you bells of lost souls book thingy with all the old school epic (the game) mini's. there is some great stuff in there you should look it up sometimes
Anvildude wrote:Metric is more useful for Math. Standard/Imperial is better for actual measuring, simply because it's more natural and instinctive. Inch is a thumb tip, foot is a foot, yard is a stride or about an arm length.
But not in all cases, many people have feet measuring from 7" to 14" so that is a very off handed way to measure.and an arm length was referred to as a "cubit" and arm lengths also vary from person to person as do their strides. My leg is 29inches for example.
I had a discussion with a few friends about what we would have in place of a hand... I decided on a screw-on kind of system, with many different attachments, my favorites being a prosthetic with a blood pack in, so when I shake someone's hand it's all blood and I reveal the stump while screaming, a pirate hook, a hidden blade (assassin's creed style), but maybe like a penknife with various other attachments, and an evil claw type thing.
With a Kimber ..45 for a hand I kill you, take your riveting hand attachment and Giant Rivet and Rivet your body to a wall so people know not to mess with the guy with a pistol for a hand.....
Automatically Appended Next Post: Or am I thinking too typically American?
aye! i have to give it to not_u...the lack of spikes....er...rivtes at the soles is highly disturbing!
nice new avatar LDD... you want to tell us something with that?^^
i think a nice blowtorch or flamer would be out of the question for a hand attachment?
also...well... i stick to the metric system... for me its inbuilt rules (not ruler´s, hehehe) are by far the best... and...the only i really know... so i am with max on that one...i dont want to really learn the others^^
and as the foot and for that matter the german "Elle" all were classiclally in former days measurements taken from the kings and dukes and such peeps they varied havily from twon to town... the metric system was a blessing for the whole of europe...!
didn´t do anything hobbywise and gaming wise yesterday... felt too empty and needed a break, so i took an early night... now i am about to roast some ants and go searching for a dog^^
Just wait until you get to have fun with the Protectrons, easily my favorite robots after the Sentry bots. Up there in my top three with the Portal Turret.
i guess they will have to wait to be a real problem for me... i have seen not even 1% of the game yet^^ only saw a Protectron on the entrance of megaton...
n0t_u wrote:Just wait until you get to have fun with the Protectrons, easily my favorite robots after the Sentry bots. Up there in my top three with the Portal Turret.
well with all those mechanics... i bet they put an inhibitor chip inside this dome of brain to prevent him from running after cars... it´s a dog´s life...
by the way... i proudly proclaim my first supermutant kill... the first one was actually assisted by a brotherhood guy...but after that severla followed and i must say i love me hunting rifle^^ the .32 caliber one^^
I'm not sure actually. FO is just grimdark that way.
Spoiler:
The quest you get him in you have to get him a new brain and find out he needs this every now and then as it can't preserve his brain forever (I got the one from an old dog being put down). So I'm not even sure that it's the same dog you meet when you meet him, could be some entirely different dog.

How about HK-47?
Google brings up a SW bot and this.
I'm going to assume it's the SW bot. They don't sound as cool though.

Should have seen my first behemoth encounter. Kill off a couple super mutants near some derailed train with red carriages, find a teddy bear in a cage so go to gather it (my character at the time used them as weapons, being sure to collect them after every fight; keeps it interesting ). I get smacked over the head and turn around and shoot only to be looking directly into its knee. Having not looked up anything prior to playing the game I had no idea what the hell it was, but quickly figured I should get distance and kill it. So I start to run as it easily breaks my leg and proceeds to bash me as I hobble off until I die...
at max... don´t get me started... FO3 it is now... don´t get me derailed....^^
at not_u yeah... too human sounding now...too much human wobble...

lol...i know what you mean... the game has these moments...^^
It's what kept me playing that, Oblivion and New Vegas so much. Could do the same thing many times, but it's always different. Was going to go play Minecraft and get a bridge built, now I want to play NV instead because of this.
Good time too I guess, saved at an important branch so I get to see what'd happen if I went the other way.
Spoiler:
Travelling with Veronica and siding with house. Got the mission to wipe out the Brotherhood of Steel. Instead I saved, went to the basement, unplugged house then took his robot army and wiped out everyone.

i think so^^.... i have now stumbled upon some chineese...welll they didn´t look that ood after i punctured their faces...and guess what...now i have a snipergun... mwaahahahaha^^
Don't forget the laser tommy guns. Also the funnest part of the sniper rifle is when you manage to almost without fail shoot the weapons out of their hands. Even better as while they look around for it (usually they'll try to fire an invisible rifle once ) Veronica and Rex run in and bash them instead.
Well managed to sneak in, and grab the pass cards needed to self destruct the place. Veronica complained about it in the middle of a scribe's head exploding, but luckily enough has seemed to not really cared at all after it. Since it's supposed to make you infamous enough with the faction for her to leave.
All this talk of FallOut makes me want to give it a try. I really liked Oblivion, and I have to have a game that can be stopped and saved at a moments notice, kids and all (that takes online games out)...Do you think I should start with FO:1? Or got right to 3?
My comp has Vista if that matters.
*sigh* just one more thing to occupy my spare time.
FO:3- GOTY edition on steam is $20- and yes, you can save wherever, whenever.
you can get FO:1, 2, and Tactics in a bundle on Steam for $20- but they are turn-based RPGs (similar to X-com back in the day)- FO:Tactics is more like that turn-based Space Marine game for the PSP a few years back.
FO:3 and FO:NV are both 1st person shooter RPGs- you need to make sure your video card can handle it.
I got used to it with Maplestory as one of my first MMOs. Kill 333 green mushrooms, 333 horned mushrooms, 333 zombie mushrooms... One quest... Though that's more of an extreme it was usually around 50-100ish of whatever though it's been updated to the point where it's more 20-30ish
I have no idea.
Originally before quests all the game was was grinding, this gave reason to the grinding... If you wanted to be a healer back then, well your heal was AoE and did damage to undead. With the right set up you could also gain back some mana on a magic attack. This meant that even after the quests the best way to level a healer was to find a bunch of undead monsters, stand where they spawn and hold down the heal button...
I started a bit after that, fortunately that 999 quest is a side one to get some lame title. Though other MMOs made me lazy. When I first started up WoW again after leaving about the launch of BC, killing 20 of something seemed like the most it'd ask for and it was nothing, not to mention the scenery looked a lot better. Now days though I can't be bothered really doing that.
Aye, grinding is a pain... Though that's the real purpose of nearly any MMO I've seen so far. Time killing and mindless grinding to become slightly stronger, to "pwn n00bs" slightly better... Ofcourse, there are some bright moments, but at the end it's all the same, unfortunatly.
Actually I think the eastern ones appear to be more grinding, while the western ones are more dependent on quests and quest rewards. Both seem to have the same level of story to them though.
Quest grinding is almost the same. And modern "Korean" MMOs have tons of fairly decent quests nowadays. You just cant sell MMO if you don't have quests in it this days
I guess so, one's like "Go kill 50-100 of this" while the other is like "Kill 20 of this", "Good, oh I forgot kill 15 of this, in the same place", "Thanks, now find the thing those two were guarding", "Great, now take it back there and activate it"...
Games like Dragon's Nest would probably prove your point, not really all that grindy at all.
Well, I must say, that I've enjoyed most of MMOs I've played until the max lvl... Lvling is always fun, if there are some good quests, not-so-disturbing PvP and, which is most important for me, an interesting setting.
