Vik great job on the sabre blade spot on, as for the armour build in sections GS works better like that ( I have learned that the hard way )

As for laying cable, the pose will alter I imagine when adding more detail, so far so good keep it coming.

forgot to mention that i have worked on some additional armor for the arms... currently i am glueing some cardboard together as a prototype for the final version... hopefully i can provide some new footage soon...

I think you should build up the top chest section as a solid piece, have it curving down the sizes ( if not sure look at my judges chests in my thread for the idea ) but without the gap in the middle.

Then do the lower sections as they are or maybe a corresponding curve to mirror the above section.

Dam I thought that looks like my work then realised it is

But you get my drift on the curved section then, you understand the mirroring the curves with the outer edges of the small GS squares on the knight

Get those shapers work a treat, however a little tip of my own wet your finger after the GS has almost dried and gently rub the GS, it will smooth it quite well then use the shaper to rid of any rougher edges.

well.. heres the thing.. it was great eye candy, and im a big jude law fan (he was in it for like a min) plus i like ben kingsly.. it was nice and entertaining.. but i was expecting more (story wise) for a best film canidate, i felt that the story was only about 30-40 minutes worth of actuall story, but in 120 minutes worth of film,
overall.. i say watch it, it is a nice film and has alot of cool visuals (and its nice for kids too)

i created a plate mail armor for the arms... kind of... also later on i GSed some details on...and redid the chest armor as well...there needs to be more done there still but it is finally getting somewhere.,..

thanks mates... it took around ten tries for the arm armor by the way... started with paper, moved on to cardboard and then to too thick PC and then the thin pc you see there... each with many steps ...by the way... since i went for angular look on the plates... would it have looked better done rounded?

Now back to topic the arms plates look great but I would change the straps for PC strips and make them look like they are riveted together, only as they look a little organic for a robot.

The chest plate is coming nicely look forward to further updates on that, the sabre is spot on great work Vic.

I see where you were going with it but I just feel Robot legion would not use leather, everything would be Riveted (of course) or at least bolted on.

GS skills are always needed but in this sense I think PC would be better.

LDD, you have to realize- this isn't a committee build, it is Vik's build, and he can have his robots wearing pink tutus if he really wants to. All sci-fi MUST have a basis in reality for it to become believeable by the viewer, but if we closed our minds to only what our perceptions are, there would be no creativity in the world at all, and we would all be slaves to the status quo.

That and the leather could be riveted on anyway.

ok... valuable thoughts there dave, also LDD strokle a nerve with me... so because of this i went to town on the arm and did what i should have done earlier... i riveted...i am now a bit more pleased with the look tho i admit it is still not finished yet... needs now even more detailwork... tomorrow some more GS work and riveting is needed!!! but here is the atm look of the sabre wielding arm... note still one the upper arm has seen some more work on it...by the way...atm i am working on a casing for the gun arm...the sculpted version didn´t look right for me...

really dave? you seem to be rather attached to the first version... but somehow it felt too human knight instead of big machine for me if done inside with leather... that´s why the riveted straps hit the nerve...

Which I have to say I felt was rather harsh "tears streaming down my cheek" I was only putting across a view as stated by "IMO"

Vik great job glad I was of help with the straps idea it is coming on great hows the armour coming

well... i riveted it up...and tomorrow i will needto make lotsa rivets... i pan on making every plate of the armor riveted...so this will take a while...i think later on when painting happens this will give me the oprtunity to make a more simple looking paintjob with nice scratches and such things...detailed (maybe overdetailed tho surface) but less complicated paintscheme... by the way... for the moment i have ruled out to show any pipes and gears... i envision themall beneath the armor plates and other means of cover... not really steampunky then but a bit that helps me get this knight done quicker... my patience is getting stressed...

well after this built i should go on painting for a while... much cleaner apartment thus^^ and my wife will like that^^ and also...she likes it when i fisih a project... she doesn´t want me to start too many subprojects...but well i can´t help it if the bug bites me...

the airship is like a giant sized overdue homework...you know that feeling? when you were a kid... friday...back home...you knew you had to make this homework...but you put it off...till sunday around the evening... and during the whole damn weekend you are only thinking about that homework...all the fun you could be having is feeling sour as you have that bilefoul taste of a job still needed to do...darn... that s how i feel about the airship...

Yeah I have a butterfly brain as well Vik... I get caught up in new ideas which is why I decided to start the scenery in blocks between doing the 500pt sections of my army...

So your Airship is like a white elephant in the room?

I think when you start in this hobby things were easier to finish, now well thats another story I cant finish anything these days.

That airship sounds like a soul killer how long has it been ? what is it that has stalled you on it ?

It's refreshing that way, no monotone "guys look what I'm making". With updates demanded to keep it going. Just the occasional update while the thread goes along by itself almost, no doubt with the occasional good idea surfacing whether intentional or accidental.
