Are you talking about your singleplayer game? Could be a corrupted or deleted inventory file.
SkySlasher, I found myself to be tremendously injured and came across your snow home. I hope you don't mind that I helped myself to 5 Rotten Fleshes and left 5 glowstone dust in payment.
To whoever built a cobble walkway off of my path in the nether (between my house & 0,0 portal), could you please remove it or repair it? There are stone bricks and glass panes in the chest just past my portal (in the Nether) that you are free to use. Please try to stay to either my scheme or Absolutionists.

I can't get on minecraft at the moment due to my graphics card failing hugely (same reason I can't play skyrim) so can you check if it is the tunnel itself under the portal?
The tunnel is 2 wide and 2 high and can't really be filled in, any gaps around that can be.
darkinnit wrote: Are you talking about your singleplayer game? Could be a corrupted or deleted inventory file.
Yeah, singleplayer. Is there any way to retrieve the file? Thanks
The file is the level.dat file in:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves\worldname\ (windows)
/Users/username/Library/Application Support/.minecraft/saves/worldname/ (mac)
If you have backups of this file, that's the best way to get it back. Otherwise, you could use something like INVEdit to put your items back (quit Minecraft first):

Is the tunnel itself. I guess I'll just put up with it.
Edit: Also how often is the map to be updated? Weekly or so?
Remember, it's more efficient to dye the sheep before shearing than it is to dye the wool. This is important with all the blue-derived dyes, since Lapis is non-renewable.
Anvildude wrote:Remember, it's more efficient to dye the sheep before shearing than it is to dye the wool. This is important with all the blue-derived dyes, since Lapis is non-renewable.
And this is where my genius kicks in (yes, I'm totally crazy)! I only need 2 units of any dye to obtain a potentially infinite supply for this dye. All this thanks to notch and his animal reproduction system!
The first genetically modified lamb of my farm was born today. It is a perfectly healthy purple lamb (haven't found a name yet).
Be advised, I am willing to reproduce infinitely any rare wool you want to obtain for your fancy house! All I need is a few units of the dye you want to have.
And here is my first lamb in all its glory. I named him Patrick (his friends call him Purple Pat).
Cute isn't it? : 3
I am taking orders now for colored wool.
Dark already asked for a stack of black wool and production has started. Thus, you will get black wool before red or blue wool corpses.
PM me for offers! In exchange, I will usually ask for shiny and precious stuff, such as gold or diamonds. But I am also willing to accept common resources in echange (sheep breeding is a time-consuming process, I don't really have time to mine anymore).
I suggest making 2-thick walls of fence. Sheep can share the same block as a fence on one side. When the chunk reloads, the sheep may erroneously be spawned on the other side of the fence block.
I learned this from trying to keep these idiotic NPC Villagers in their containment camp.

Indeed some sheep escape from the farm. But capturing them back is not a big issue. And the reproduction rate among sheep is so great that I can afford a few losses.
So animals don't despawn anymore when no one is around? If you build a fence (or two layers of fence) then they'll always be there when you come back?
Also, I found the minecraft wiki changelog, which details all of the changes, but it does so only in simple sentences, is there any deeper description of some of the more recent changes to the game?
Its been a bit of a while since I played and I feel behind!

Honestly, I think it would be easier if a few of us went around and showed you some of the new stuff.
I know you JUST opened the portal to the Mushroom Biome, so I went to explore it.
When I came back from the Land of Nurgle, I got ambushed by 4 Ghasts:
Considering the number of sheep in my farm and the time I can reasonably spend daily on MC tending to my herd of sheep, I can produce 1/2 stack of the wool of your choice per day.
This production could be increased immeasurably just by donating a handful of dyes at the beginning of the contract. I estimate that with 20 dyes at the beginning of any production, I could easily churn out one full stack of wool per day.
So, if you want me to make some rare dyed wool, try to give out some dyes to help me begin the breeding of dyed sheep with a good stock of reproductive animals. It would speed up production (and I would gladly sell my wool much cheaper for this reason).

Spoiler:
Note that I have gotten further on this than this screenshot shows, as I took it while making it (and it's quite a bit longer than it looks like from this point of view-- I tried to show just how far I'll have to have it in mid air lol).
I'm building the netherrail but I can't play for a week and the red circle line is basicly done so if someone chucks the track, wall and stations down (probably dread) then we will be golden.
What are your coords mel? I'll see the nearest contact point.

New map is just updated and since I updated Tectonicus, it now shows netherbrick and fire. As most of the nethertunnels are being built in netherbrick, you should now be able to see the network of paths in the nether more clearly: http://www.darkinnit.com/dakkamap
That's odd. If you zoom in on the manor you can see where I cleared all the ground by the coast away, but if you then zoom out even one stage, it still shows the old landscape.
Hey all, if you're building a road or path in the overworld, try to match it up with nearby intersections, so we can have a more grid-like system around Spawn, M'kay?

It looks the same at all zoom levels to me. It could be your browser has cached the old map. Try holding CTRL and click refresh or clear your web browser's cache.
As for the fires, I think they're just too small to show up at higher zoom levels.
Also, feel free to come by the Mesa for all your chicken and grenade-related needs! (well, in a few days or week, anyways.) I've got a spider spawner, some gunpowder (and I lost about 20 powder in that server crash, gonna PM Dark about it) and apparently chickens rather like snow biomes- got a little coop going.
It seems it takes the screenshot from the direction you're facing when you place the sign. Then you just put #view in it and wait for the map to be updated.
I'll drop by later when it's all up to grind a silk touch shovel up.
There are two types of signs you can use on the map:
Text/Label Signs
You can have the text from regular signs appear on the map. These are useful for helping find locations on the map. (See the nether map signs). For a sign to appear on the map it must start and end with the same special symbol. Special symbols are ~, -, !, or #. See the signs on the map for examples.
View Signs
These create a screenshot* of the direction you are facing when you plant the sign. Plant a sign and set the text as #view
*screenshot is not an accurate description as it generates an approximate screenshot using the map rendering engine and doesn't have the fancy lighting or full details of Minecraft itself
i have a complaint about Cacafonix thieving. i just place 6 diamonds in my box at home and when i leave and come back, a player named Cacafonix is leaving my place. when i check my boxes, my diamonds are missing.
On top of Raevyans post, I'd like to state that my diamond pick is missing. My home is located very close to raevyans, and our tunnels are connected in some spots.
It would also appear my enchanted sword is missing as well. Iron sword of knockback 2 I believe.

after Cacafonix left my place, he mentioned that he needed to find food and a pick...shortly before necroshea's pick went missing
Sorry Necroshea, skeleton in there, I quickly borrowed it to kill it as it was dark and I had just joined. Just put the sword back in, the compass is in there too, are you sure you didn't just miss it? As it is in there when I checked just now.
Edit:
Just invented (at least I might have, may already exist elsewhere) a game as well. Seeing how pool tables seem sort of useless I had an idea and adapted mine to this.
The table is 5x7 and in the center of each side is a dispenser with a button underneath.
Each player gets two red dye and two yellow dye and loads them however they want into the dispenser; without telling the others the order of course. The items cannot be placed in stacks and must be by themself.
Each player then bets which will be the dominant item; red, yellow or tie. Then each player presses the button causing the dispenser to randomly launch one of the items.
Doesn't have a name yet though, but it is pretty similar to Chou-han, except rather than the two choices there is a third as well.
Hay! you know that skin that was made for me (totally forgot who made it bur you are awesome (think it was shrike?)) i need it re done so its wearing dark black robes with red trim please.
Also i met someone on my role-play server who was called kahn (role-play name) and i said "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD". A cookie for whoever guesses the reaction.
I love the small fountain at the other side of the pool. It looks really well with the wooden planks on the edge of the pool and the bamboo near the mini-waterfall.
Wild guess he either didn't know, went "SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE" or "KILL! MAIME! BURN! KILL! MAIME! BURN! KILL! MAIME! BURN! KILL! MAIME! BURN! KILL! MAIME! BURN! KILL! MAIME! BURN!" etc.
Tell me, how did you get that 'stripe' of sand showing along the bottom of the pool? I've been thinking about it since I saw these pics and I can't figure out how it could be done!
Also, what are the small 'bushes' that you've planted in between the trees? Are they just saplings in your texture pack or are they the tall grass?
How did you get the ring of glowstone (with that texture pack it looks like cubes of popcorn) then? The second picture looks like half bricks (can you get those?) are used as the floor with glowstone in the walls, but that can't be right, because the first picture isn't at the right angle for the glowstone on the far right to show if it was in the wall...
The glowstone is right at the walls as a frame for the floor. The angle on it gives the impression due to the pattern of the bricks and them changing angels too.
n0t_u wrote:The glowstone is right at the walls as a frame for the floor. The angle on it gives the impression due to the pattern of the bricks and them changing angels too.
Well, stone bricks...that's another new thing I wasn't aware of! Neat.
Anyway, I'm confused about half-blocks (slabs, correct?).
My experience is that you can only create half-blocks that are half-sized vertically. However in your picture it sure looks like you've got half of the glowstone blocks showing horizontally, which I don't understand how this can be accomplished.
Any explanation you can give to me would be most helpful.
There's no half bricks, it's sort of an unintentional optical illusion.
Blocks are placed like this.
S= stone, G = Glowstone, W = wood and D= dirt
W
S
S
DGSSS
I think with the brick pattern it sort of plays a trick on the eye as it's right where it transitions from being the floor to the wall. I was also sort of looking down at it a little in that second picture to hide the stalker sign up on the tree in the corner. As it's a 64x64 pack the stone may also look a little bigger than it is, I'm not sure but I think it was something like 2 bricks per block; a full one on the top with two halves underneath. That's at least what I think creates the illusion, I'll take a screenshot in the default one and see if it still has the same appearance.
I'd like it if they would introduce the other types of blocks in the better than wolves pack. The horizontal halved blocks and even quarter blocks would be very useful.
Could make chairs like this without it messing with people's heads.
Automatically Appended Next Post: It burns us.
Looks roughly the same, but when I looked at the block itself.
They are basically the same so I think the pattern of the block itself gives the impression of it being larger than it is thus giving the impression that the glowstone is smaller than it really is. Combined with the angle of the screenshot instead of it appearing straight on like the first one.
Or something like that.
Yeah I have misread his post, didn't see it was the nether portal. I'll still take a look at the affected area just in case, but no I can't ban ghasts unfortunately.
Since the ghasts now seem to have much better aim, I have a conspiracy theory that Notch and his team have an admin console that allows them to join any server and control the Ghasts for their amusement.
Whoever's in charge of the Nether Rail, I wanna let you know that my portal is almost above the one unfinished bridge. Let me know the level and coords the bridge is gonna be at, and I'll work on building back, and adding a station.
Anyone else attempting to get a silk touch shovel for the shroom biome? I used a lvl 30 and a lvl 40 enchant and didn't get it so starting to not want to be bothered.
That was after the waste that was the lvl 25, 28 and 26 ones...
True, I had at least 40 diamond picks at level 40+ and I got level 2 to 4 enchantments (two or three if I was lucky), and I enchant two gold swords and get three level 3-4 enchantments on each.
And exp orbs can be spawned in by an op- up to 5,000 (IIRC) at a time, but oddly on my other server when the op did it for everyone after killing the ender dragon, I got around 70 and someone else got around 200.
I like Titans. I'll make drafts of weaponry if you give me dimensions. More in the thread. That also gives me the idea that I'll shove Imperial Heavy Bolter Emplacements all over my place.
According to Lexicanum, a Warhound Titan is a shockingly short 14m. That's 14 Minecraft blocks tall; I've built dirt 1x1 towers taller than that.
The Reaver Titan is 22m. The Warlord is 33m+. The Emperor Titan is 55m.

To get any reasonable level of detail you would have to at least triple that scale though
But then you don't get a decent feel of the actual size!
Like making Pyramids. Try and make a 1:1 scale Great Pyramid (Khufu's, that is). It's 115 blocks tall. That's absolutely immense. I've done it on a single player world out of sandstone (had to use Too Many Items, or I'd have depleted the world's supply of sand). It's massive.
4oursword. I visited your Titan project just now. One of the feet is intact, but the other foot and some parts of your property look like several explosions just went off.
Either that or you discovered a ravine underneath the Titan.
I've dug the first leg of the nether tunnel to my castle, it ends at approx 712, 0, 65
I'll dig the second leg to 0,0 when I get motivated, if someone wants to come visit, dig a tunnel its faster
Now for the brief adventures of Clucky, the Adventure Chicken. He started off as one of the bunch Dark dumped in the house. The way they were dying off and killing each other it may as well have been a competition. Clucky ended up being the winner and was presented with the door being open. After a few minutes in front of the fireplace it finally dashed out the door. It then dashed inside then out, then in again until I punched it starting the adventure.
Spoiler tags of course as there's a few as he made it out about 2-300 blocks after going in circles for a bit.
Spoiler:
He starts off by exploring the swamp.
Discovered sheep.
Almost fell into the cave under the water here
Swamp squid.
Land squid sort of and time to go underground. -.-
Figured it would probably end here and rather boringly.
But it found the way out somehow.
Finally leave the swamp biome and begin climbing some mountains.
He discovers a floating rock.
Then jumps down a cliff so I take fall damage.
Then starts crossing the river towards the desert biome on the other side or the hills that were there.
Decides on the desert.
Which has his greatest challenge after the cave; cacti.
Makes it past the first two but runs head on into the third.
That's the end of his adventure.
His sign even has tags so it should appear on the map.

If you've got XP, then it's probably 32-bit. XP 64-bit is something of a rarity. However, I have just spotted a rather critical typo in the FAQ, it should read:
Go to Start - Control Panel - Java (type Java in the search box if you can't see it)
In the dialog that opens, choose the Java tab.
In the "Java Runtime Environment Settings" section, click View...
In the Runtime Parameters box, enter:
-Xms 300m -Xmx 300m (make sure to keep the uppercase and lowercase the same)
(I had missed out the "m" on the end of 300). Give that a try. Sorry for the typo, it has been corrected.
Still not working. Occasionally it'll quit as soon as it starts saying that Java has experienced a fatal error in addition to crashing 30 seconds in to each game.

The Syndicate Project (Minecraft Project) has the discovery recorded. At first it seemed to be rather Shadow of Israphael, but this seems to corroborate it.

bs.
It isn't even possible for the chunks to change like that after generation without player interaction...
Im not sure ok! Im a skeptical as all of you. im looking for the page that says its true but im having trouble, maybe it was fabricated but i have heard there is proof and i am searching. This has happened to multiple people but it could just be an elaborate scheme though.

Well we have pictures to go with an accurate reproduction of him. Though I want the cactus to stay as well.
Edit: Just had a thought while adding some more signs to the nether. Will we be having a sort of New Year's party? Like the Halloween one it doesn't need to be on the day but rather a more convenient one for everyone.
Also I don't ask for much, but if a portal is built in mid air put blocks under it. If it glitches you can be left falling almost indefinitely, mostly ending by ghast or other mob interrupting. It seems to happen as it sometimes doesn't recognise the portal as blocks while you warp in. So the slightest bit of lag can cause extreme rubberbanding.
Hi, this is a message to Silverlegion whoever that is.
I am sorry about causing damage to your pyramid as I was on it and admiring your work in the middle of the night. (that was stupid of me) I should have known better, but a creeper got up behind me and killed me, taking a whole chunk of the top of your pyramid with me. Thankfully, I found every piece of glowstone that was blown out and replaced them in their proper place. I also repaired the whole of the top of your pyramid but had no torches on me at that time. I'm going to have to owe you one. Again, I'm sorry.
It's my understanding that no one on the server has a silk touch pick, or at least I haven't heard of it.
So I'm making the following offer: I will buy experience (in 22 level increments) for 2 diamonds (or some negotiated amount of Iron or other resources).
Here's how it works.
- You send me a message (here or in MC) that you have experience to trade.
- I give you a diamond pick that you enchant at my enchanting table.
- You enchant the pick and give it back to me.
- I give you two diamonds.
- You get: +2 diamonds. I get an enchantment.
I figure this will create an incentive to finally get a silk touch pickaxe so we can begin the mooshroomification of the Nether.
corpsesarefun wrote:Have you got a maximum power table biccat?
Yup.
Level 22 is the most xp-efficient level for getting silk touch on a diamond pick. But if someone wants to trade a level 50 enchantment (most resource-efficient), I'd be willing to negotiate.
Just does sometimes, if you lost anything major take note of the most recent time it was ok and ask dark if he can reset your inventory or just replace what was lost.
Well shoot, I got about 10 Ender Pearls that I'll donate to the cause. Also a ton of spider string, so we could make big banks of dispensers to hold off the Endermen.
Also, there's two Blaze Spawners on the route to the Mesa if anyone needs Blaze Rods, or would like to make grinders for them.
I also may need some help at some point. The sort of large cobble floor some may have seen in the nether near my portal is to be a gold grinder like the one Grundz has made, but a fair bit closer to spawn and likely much smaller. The reason I may need help is I just had the idea to add pistons into it to speed up the grinding, no idea how many I'll need yet but I may not have enough to make them all. Once it's up and working however, feel free to use it as it's to be a public grinder.
Figured everyone has one I may as well make one too.

Somebody must have been there for the End to be generated. If you click on the spawn icon on the overworld map, you can see it lists the number of blocks, along with:

EnderPortal 9
This means there are three End Portals in the area shown by the map, and one has been lit.

I may be exaggerating the six hours bit, but I casually dug a tunnel over the course of a few hours and constructed a tunnel underwater, and then filled it with dirt to remove the water.
The server shut down under its normal procedure and took an unusually long time to get back up. When I had logged back, all my work had been undone and all the materials I had used in the construction were back in my chests. My inventory was the same as it was when the server went offline, but the world went back in time.
My friend xLeiahx also witnessed the same thing. She had apparently replaced the flooring of her building. The server shutdown reset all the work done and materials went back in chests.
It's impossible that this is griefing (unless someone was really really thorough). I just didn't know it was possible for the server to revert several hours of world edits.
Either way, no biggie. I did what I wanted to do again in record time because I knew what I was doing. Didn't lose anything but time. It was just a bit odd.
Yep, I looked into it and it seems Minecraft encountered one of its hangs *while* saving. After fifteen minutes of being hung, my auto-restart script killed it and the server started again (but in the reverted state you found it in).
Usually after a crash all world changes are already saved anyway, but perhaps the "saving" part had crashed much earlier and it wasn't apparent until Minecraft restarted. A reverted state is much better than a corrupted world though.
I had been experimenting with longer gaps between scheduled restarts and they were doing ok until now. I've changed it back to scheduled restarts every two hours now.

There are three End Portals in the world, and I believe only two have been discovered.
I have one underneath my citadel and it is not lit. It must be one of the others. You're free to light it if you want, but until we have the resources to kill the Enderdragon, it's going to be a one-way trip.
I say we all get Spehss Mahrine or Orky or whatnot skins before we do it- full enchanted weaponry, folks workin' as Engineers making embattlements and fortifications, people keeping the Endermen away, people working at taking out the crystals, etc.
If someone could record it, we could prolly have an awesome YouTube account of how you really take one down as a team. I could even provide splash healing potions!

you should just finish the portal tunnel to my grinder and improve it, its thousands and thousands of blocks big and is only about a 5-10 minute nether walk from 0,0
its only about 300-400 blocks from 0,0 as far as I know, if you go straight from 0,0,65 towards 700,0,65 you should meet my cobble walkway about half way
If we're doing mass suicide, wear normal skins but install a texture pack where armour is IG-style, or if we're being serious, do the same but with space marines.
And useful tip- when wearing diamond armour, the ender dragon can't hurt you- it just pushes you around when it swoops. (Doesn't say if it has to be full armour, a certain armount or any at all- when I did it on another server I had full diamond armour).
I've not been on much at all these past few weeks, mostly because of IRL stuff and getting oblivion (and getting skyrim in 2-3 weeks won't help much either), but I'll still be game for an enderquest providing I have advance warning so I can get on.
To answer you're question I have visited the end to see what it was like, When I get the time I will finish up the final chamber so we can all kick some dragon ass !

there's a ladder that you will pass on your left just as you step into the grinder that leads to the basement
right now it works best if there are few or no players online and it needs some upgrading before its really absurd, feel free to improve it.

The reason I may need help is I just had the idea to add pistons into it to speed up the grinding, no idea how many I'll need yet but I may not have enough to make them all. Once it's up and working however, feel free to use it as it's to be a public grinder.
Figured everyone has one I may as well make one too.
you should just finish the portal tunnel to my grinder and improve it, its thousands and thousands of blocks big and is only about a 5-10 minute nether walk from 0,0
its only about 300-400 blocks from 0,0 as far as I know, if you go straight from 0,0,65 towards 700,0,65 you should meet my cobble walkway about half way
I'll help with the tunnel then, I only started cause I was under the impression it was too far away but it isn't so. I guess the structure I have built can be converted into a station for the rail system or something.
bring food, apparently you run out of gas faster in the nether than the overworld and its a healthy run
at some point i'll upgrade it to more than 1 wide walkway that you need to dash across

well its about a 1400 block run
if you bring food it only takes a few minutes really, its not worth spending the hours and hours building your own, the things are a huge pain in the ass since ghasts constantly screw with you.
So I now have 8gb ram, a huge graphics card (seriously it's massive, at least three times bigger than my old one) and a shiny 500w PSU yet my graphics driver problem remains so minecraft is refusing access
I'll get my techy buddies to have a look and if they fail I'll have to beg dark to help.
I have been freaked out to go single player because I thought I saw herobrine. but on the bright side I made an fantastic panic room. made out of obsidian and lava...in the nether
corpsesarefun wrote:So this tunnel goes to your castle?
Yes, at the end of the tunnel is the pigman grinder, so BE CAREFUL and dont die in it like 4sword, to the right is the portal, to the left is the ladder that leads to the basement of the grinder
I'm building a railway from my home to various places in the overworld. If you see my railway as encroaching on your property, please let me know so I may re-route it. Of course if I can tell I'm approaching someone's property, I'll re-route it anyway, this is more for cases where the rail goes through someone's unmarked land. I don't think I'll be running into anything, but just in case. Thanks.
Also, if anyone knows about the creeper explosion that took out the corner of my fence and property, please let me know, here or in-game. It is easily fixed, I'm mostly just curious.
I don't like the realism....i play minecraft to get away from the realistic graphics of all these new games....its like you see how realistic the graphics are, but then you're like meh....seen that since the day i was born. Although it is funny to see blockish animals....
Hah, I used to use the 256x256 texture pack until Minecraft kept on crashing every hour or so, and I like to think my PC is pretty good. It also takes an unusually long time to load maps. Anything beyond 64x64 really is impractical.

I hate to be a spoil sport but why exactly?
Why build overland in area's people could own/build on in the future when the nether-rail is faster and doesn't interfere?
Just adding my two cents, but why play survival when creative mode is faster and mobs don't interfere?
Travelling in the overworld is more interesting as you get to see people's stuff along the way (not just teleport from "your place" to "your other place").
Building a road and/or rail also sometimes leads to a "strip" of buildings and places along the road and more of a community atmosphere rather than scattered places only linked by the nether.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Not saying nether travel is bad - it's good for getting to places when you're in a hurry and not interested in sightseeing.
Also yes I'm aware I scattered people about in the new map, practically enforcing nether travel, but that was mainly to encourage exploration and to make sure we got some new stuff (and people) in the middle 500 block radius.
I like how we're scattered, beats having yet another Dakka town, but with slightly fancier buildings. We seemed to be somewhat linearr as well before due to the roads.
Palace of terra leveling operation stands at about 700X600 blocks so far,
so, bringing allt his area down to bedrock level to make it taller doesn't seem to happen, if i were to do it we would already be up to millions of blocks.
I want to post here just to be sure. I looked around for a good hour, couldn't find anything that looked like some built or tore down there. So I want to stake this area out unless someone has a previous claim...

Hmm... I don't believe the overworld map is showing my stuff. The Nether map's got my portal and 'look at this' sign, but I don't see any of those on the Overworld map.
Yeah, this is unplayable, and hasn't resolved in hours... anyone have any tips? Everything else runs fine, internet is fast on Wireless N with full bars. Running Win7 64 bit on a 2.8g AMD Quad /w 4MB 1333mhz ram
Oh, hahaha!
There's a certain radius around the spawn that you're simply not allowed to build. Everything you destroy will reappear. Go further out.
Either that or your Minecraft is bugged. Are you having this problem on any other multiplayer servers? Check out (mau5ville.com) or something popular and see if the problem persists.

What's the connection speed of your internet though? All of that was sort of irrelevant to it. When on the server list leave your cursor over the connection strength to the right and it'll give you the ping of the connection, the lower the better.

Good idea, but I am waaaaaay outside of spawn.

Not sure of the ping, but I have 20MB/s internet (usually runs about half that). But the issue is less now... server did a reset, or backup or something. Seems to have fixed it for the moment.
Make sure you are not in the spawn area. If you've ended up in the mine under the spawn area, it has block protection (from bedrock to sky limit) and blocks will re-appear.
If it's not that, make sure you (or others in your household) are not doing large downloads at the same time.
Other than that, try a friend's internet connection?

Distances in the overworld are 8 times that in the nether. So you are off the edge of the map in the overworld, but fit into the 1/8th size nether map.
In order to fit more of the overworld onto the map without it taking several hours to generate and upload, I would have to zoom out and also sacrifice some zoom levels. At the moment I think I have a "just right" balance of time taken to generate and upload vs land covered. Sorry.
Having said that, I may look into the feasibility of having a second map (or even layer) showing a higher zoom of the entire map, but that map would be updated much less often.
corpsesarefun wrote:Also on the map the bed icons show spawn points, not every bed
No, the bed icons show your most recent bed (according to your inventory file). If the bed got destroyed and you haven't died yet, then the point won't be updated. Also there are a lot of bed positions carried over from the old world. If you have a bed icon on the map near your place where there is no bed, it could be from someone who has not updated their bed since the reset. If it bothers you, let me know and I can clear their bed position.
Hey, I'm working on the palace of terra, wondering if anyone would want to take my single player save and add some detail or modify it to add detail and such let me know I'm running out of ideas Once I'm happy with it i'll start building it ingame
So since I joined and immediately ran off to the far corners of the visible map and started building... I don't know where New Dakkatown is. I suppose it would be near spawn, but i'm having trouble identifying a clear town in that area of the map. Anyone have rough coords?
WE don't really have a New Dakkatown. Heck, there wasn't really an OLD Dakkatown. Just a collection of buildings near spawn made by people too lazy to go exploring before building.
Well, yay! Lol. So If I want a place near spawn, just go build it then? Feel like I've read a lot about the stuff folks on the server are doing, but I'm so out of the way I've never seen any of them. :(

Same...
I'm one hell of a walk away from the spawn...
Though i have my swamp all to myself which is nice...
Some bigass caves around though.
I'm running into the same issue. I planned outa great mine system, but the caves underneath The Mount are HUGE! Ruining my careful planning. If it wasn't for those meddling kidsssssssss...... BOOM!

Is there a way to stop creepers from spawning underground?

Fill cave complexes up with cobblestone, water, or lava.

I make sure I have some armor and a sword, a ton of torches, and some signs. I make sure to light only on the right hand side or the floor while I'm exploring, so if torches are on the left I know I'm headed out/ Use signs to point out more confusing tunnels. Explore everything, and light it up like a christmas tree. No more spawns, though you will probably need to kill a few to get it done.

I went through the tunnel complex and made small sections out of everything, using walls and doors to seperate them. And then lit those up one at a time...
Best way to explore is to have a stack or two of wood logs. That way you can create anything you absolutely need- workbench and wood pick to get started, furnaces can make logs into charcoal for torches. Stone's everywhere, so that's not an issue. And every stack of logs makes 4 stacks of planks, and from that, 8 stacks of sticks, which is plenty for anything you might need.
Not sure who owns the pyramid, but I was checking it out and a creeper came out of nowhere and blew up a good chunk of the main hallway. I put back as much of the floor as I could, but some of the redstone wiring below was also damaged. Since I couldn't repair that, I put the 2 redstone back into a chest near the bed. My apologies for the inconvenience.
