the pore bastard just tries to get out of the front line. i guess you can't fight with a bullet in your foot.
or scare the living daylight out of them. weird expression you English have.......living daylight......... (this will be so embarrassing if i am wrong)
but no playing with guns is bad. and you don't want to be bad now do you? if you are bad you will turn into a heretic and then your brothers have to kill you.
thats what i always say to my opponents space marines/imperial guard.
against tau its more of a "for the greater good put down your weapons for they are bad and not good"
and when they cry i should put down my weapons i just
trace a straight line from the muzzle of the gun. then you see this guy is a genius......

so how come you now work in food conservation then in the ever growing industry with cons?
Because I am only fething with you LOL
Nah I have a lot of mates with stupid ideas and worse decisions ….. I did hang with a bad crowd when I was younger but I had the sense to think before my actions
Though I am all for the smoothchins, I found this sentence entertaining- "'Wow, that clean shaven guy looks manly as feth', said no one ever."
In my opinion, when it comes to facial hair, you've either got it or you don't. If you do, go out and rock it, if you don't, don't try. Like "jazz goatee" guy, just shave. Freddie Mercury guy, don't shave.
They look great mate cool find, that carriage is so steam punk I can see great things with that ( jealousy eating away inside now ) have you some ideas all ready or just let it flow and see what happens
I have to agree some exceptional detailing on that, the chain, side steps and break leaver nice what make are they
The pocket watch is a great looking piece too, the wife spoiling you must have done something right me thinks although I don't think you needed to explain it was the wife LOL
pocket watches are so darn cool...i always wanted one^^ and this one has the cogs and stuff all shown too^^ i just love to watch the ..hehe watch keep working...^^...better´n´most screensavers^^
Automatically Appended Next Post: nono...it was my wife....and i like that part the best as she understands that this is to feed my steampunk hunger in every day live...^^ that shows some big things for me!!!
as for the cars (they are all cars by the way...) i got the lot (one not shown as it is all smashed) for only 1.50€ from a turkish seller...he was a bit embaressed as the smashed one got broken through transport so he smashed it even firther and was not emberassed about his own anger showing through... so he lowered the proce from 2 to 1.50 on his own acord^^
and i want to stemapunk them up a bit more and then just paint them... now i but have to get me some drivers...argh... with every bit solved some new loose ends apear...^^

Ah, the metal on my skin forms little green blisters of nastiness, so I do not wear the things at all. Also, when I make a mistake and the x-acto slips, it really hurts a great deal! Hate it!, then I simply get rid of that with superglue to seal the wound!
at all the others...well i too use my small phone as a means for timekeeping...no smart phone, mind you...but that might change with the new job... but now i haz style for timekeeping... ad me to likes the pocketwatch because i never got warm with wearing a wrist watch...i even used a regular wristwatch for a time as a pocket watch ... but now that is way more cool^^
as to shrike...now there is a nasty image of a transaction of a watch from generation to generation forming in my mind...yeah i am the nasty person^^
at dave... yep...that carriage model will get a nice boiler... currently i am thinking how to use her...
as for the generous offer for pilots...thanks LDD and dave... i have to get some good ideas and then i come back at you...god i love that dakka collcetive^^
at shaso:
when I make a mistake and the x-acto slips, it really hurts a great deal!
er...don´t yu think that is mostly due to your skin not wanting to get perforated? i for one feel as much hurt when the knife slips...
If you prick us, do we not bleed? if you tickle us, do we not laugh? if you poison us, do we not die? and if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?
I really want a pocket watch, though if it were a digital pocket watch it'd be even better I just prefer digital- never learnt to tell the time with analogue ...just kidding, but I prefer the time to be clearly displayed instead of spending valuable moments looking at all the hands

but yes, pocket watches are cool.
selfowned mate... totally... beside...sorey but cant break that nicley to you... digital pocket watch?? no sir... that wouldn´t look good for a sec... and if you had one like these:
hmmm.... well...i have to take that as true if you tell me so... but the film still left me with a bad feeling... that last action sequenze with the emperor was just not my style...
The ending was made up unfortunately... but thats ridley scott for you... Try watching Kingdom of Heaven and match it to the events it was based on... the events of the film happen in quick succession... but the real events it was based on happened over a ten year period :/
If you didnt like the flyers i'd shoot you Childe! Yea maybie Gladiator and Robin Hood's story where average, but they where Eye candy, thats what you go to Scott for!
trust me childe.. im a doctor.. waite no that dosent work....
Trust me childe, i have 600+ dvd's and the film buisness is (at least 3 of my closer families) passion/buisness!
It's not binary, which I admit would be annoying to read time in. Something about the position of the blocks. Outer ring is the hours showing which it is by the gap in the ring, while minutes are shown by a dot. The inner ring shows the second time zone in the same way. It's pretty confusing, but still the same as an analogue clock.
Nice avatar Vik fancy a change again mate funny there was a news report (use that term loosely ) on the bT home page about historically incorrect movies.
One point that seemed to be raised a lot was the fact to rewrite history (whether rightly or wrongly ) to keep the flow of the movie and to appease the viewers.
So really can you totally blame the directors or is more due to the demands of the viewer wanting entertaining.
Either way there are a lot of good and bad movies out there, some films will be loved and others will hate it and vice versa (now that it is a bad movie) .
if these fail then i will let you know... after all these would spare me some extensive sculptingwork for the sentineldrivers...because they would never fit just as they are...
or do you have by chance any other striking ideas?
by the way about how many are we talking here LDD? how many do you got at your disposal atm?

Dark future minis come up smaller than GW minis you do know this don't you
I would say 2 or 3 maybe I have a load of unbuilt sentinel's that i bought a while ago, though I was planning of having different posed drivers so the sitting ones are not that much use to me.
I could try and sculpt a set of legs for you maybe, but not knowing the style or the position would be a bit of a problem
hmmm... you give me lots of food for thought... well i have bid already on the first three...
really much smaller than GW? i havent done a scaleshot with my one sentinel driver yet... so i will do that later on...
sculpting legs for me...hmmm...now that sounds cool...how could i possibly assist you on this? what data would you need? iirc you asked what company these are from... i will check that later but i doubt i will find any information...
legs would be interesting as then i only need fresh cadian torso´s and i would be set... (which i want to get soon anyways... or i´d use some empire militia ones...)

See this months National Geographic for more information please!!! The titanic Spliit bow from stern at 2:18am on the morning of the 15th of April 1812, the two sections now lay 1,970 feet apart from each other on the bottom of the Atlantic ocean. What the Film Titanic did not show was the fact, as she began to split in two under the strain from flooding, that she began to list to her port side as the stern rose from the sea.
Certain historical events and wars I read up on as I have an interest in that kind of thing
Are you kidding? That looks terible. If you're gonna make a watch with a square display, just make the watch a square as well. Round pocket watches have to have round timekeeping methods.

then the first titanic movie there the ship didn't break!
Steampunk = anything steam powered, without using an internal combustion engine. While holding a Victorian "adventurer" aesthetic. for e.g. Steamboy, League of extraordinary gentlemen, war of the worlds.
Dieselpunk = diesel powered verhicles/technology, but also occasionally harnessing nuclear power too. but upholding an Art Deco aesthetic with plenty of chrome. for E.g. WW2 stuck in the 1930's. Sky captain and the world or tomorrow, Bioshock, Fallout: 3.

Thats as may be, but the RMS Titanic split asunder between the second and third funnels, exactly how I said above.
I think they just recently discovered more about the Titanic than they did when the movie came out....Something about a section of the ship they didn't previously know about...
@Dave, what they found recently is the dome of the grand stair case, as well as the forward service hatch some distant away from the two main debris sites.
@Fatty, here you go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RMS_Titanic Now I know Wiki isn't all that reliable, but ths is correct as I know it. As I said before, I've been reading up this kind of thing for years...

It will help wit scale size, any pictures of a mini next to the seating area
If you want some legs I will have a go, but you will need to give me some kind of look as to clothing and style and the seating position itself.
I felt safer doing barrel rolls and dives and flying upside down in a Stearman Bi-plane than I do on a commercial plane...Probably because I had a parachute strapped to my back It was sooo much fun!

in holland there are many crazy actions like that.
one where you could win a trip into space (from metro a free newspaper well technically this one was world wide)
you can win 1 kilo of gold at a radio station
q music had the dive to the titanic thing
guess how long it would take for a solid block of ice melted so a porche 911 was free. if you guessed it right you win the car.
live like a pro. there they made your soccer club like a real pro club with jaccuzzi's and the likes you'd win a players bus.
what can i say holland has some pretty weird prizes

lol...my radio station recently only gave away so many cd´s that you could balance on your hand..outstrechted at that and only one hand... now that is what i call cheapo...
yeah i will investigate the positioning...

I have never lost to Nids since the combination of last IG and Nid dex, both written by Crudacce,,,,seems he rigged the nids to lose tot he IG slowed 'em down and made it easy for Guard to load out on fire-power spammification. Even my Orks rocked the Nids.
I've never played nids apart from a 500 point per player 3 vs 3, where I used my ally's guard as meatshields until the hordes dwindled and my raven guard flew in and took out the synapse creatures.
I started to collect tyranids (got I think 1500 points), played a few games with them (won every time against marines/chaos), but they just weren't my style, so I stopped. I still use them for practicing my raven guard on when I get a new unit at home though

That depends on what kind of detail I am doing ? If it is a larger area I add 50-50 but then add a little more blue just to give it a more solid base, I do this as it is stronger and holds shape better but can be a pain to shape as hardens quicker.
Smaller detail and areas that need more sculpting add more yellow, this way I can shape it easier and it gives me longer to do it, also never roll it and then use it straight away I give it a few minutes once its uniformed in colour before I work with it.
Someone taught me the trick of given it a few minutes to cure before using it and it made all the difference, as for the shapers there are soft medium and hard plus varying shapes and sizes.
The one I sent you is good for large areas and I found the hard ended one was better for larger areas, the medium is good for small areas on minis and I use the smaller sized version.
Also the really soft tip I used for getting a smooth finish on areas with a lot of close detail that I don't want to rub out or over work this is also only in the small size.
Hope that helps with that sorry for the late reply but I was knackered last night .

What a great guy, that LDD I haven't gotten so much into the mix design (as LDD describes below), but the paintshaper takes some time to get used to. I would recommend a random side project or experiment first, not "that one perfect thing I've been dying to sculpt", if you know what I mean

Like I said, I'm not so familiar with changing mixes, but I've found that the leaving the GS for a few minutes is actually very helpful.
Yes, mix it up a bit Rawson it amazes me how much of a difference it can make when modelling, I found this out from one of the guys at my local GW store and was amazed at the results.
He also was the guy who put me onto the clay shapers, I was going to buy the GW sculpting tool at the time and he told me not to bother LOL sent me with a list of clay shapers to the art shop down the road.
Best advice I got to date I would say, really changed my sculpting skills.
Look at it like this the darker green it is the harder it forms, lighter the green softer it is and more manageable, but remember that when it is softer it takes longer to get sharper edges.
Also buy the GS in 2 separate parts if you can get, the stuff that comes joined has all ready started to cure, what I do when I get it like that (cheap on ebay) is cut the middle section out (use it if you wish for bulking stuff out).
Put the 2 separate colours in to sealable bags and put in the freezer till you need it (don't worry don't take long to defrost) this way it keeps longer.

sleeping is a must...so i´ve heard^^
the mix going into the more blue area i never even considered...will adapt to that for the right effect next time... for some reason i use way too much yellow...i am a very slow worker so i guess the extra curing time is all in the mix^^ so to speak... also i tend to work on multiple spaces /minis when i mix the GS... from the mixing my hands sometimes get very stained as i foind it quite hard to get it all even mixed...guess that´s why i tend to use more yellow...
i have a good feeling with the shaper and i think in about an hour i will start a sculpting session...

well the next as max always describes this on the honeydo list is making a hulk mini out of a lego mini for the kids... they are atm totaly hyped by the avengers (note an old TV cartoon series currentlöy on TV...) and they lack that extra muscle that the hulk provides...so i recruited an old lego...this one is a bit taller than standard lego minis and it will get covered as good as it is possible with gs to get me a hulk looking lego mini...cross your fingers... guess that falls uner the "that one perfect thing I've been dying to sculpt" ^^
No probs Vik ……. but stop stealing your kids toys you will only have to replace them LOL
Good sculpting and one last bit of advice (which I learnt the hard way ) try not to do to much yes it sounds weird but build in sections once you achieve something you are happy with STOP!.
They seem hard enough and come with little caps for the tops as well as a circle of what looks like foil to stop it from sticking to the lid and a thin plastic sheet wrapped around it to stop it sticking to the tube like all the other GS I've seen.

well max...we are here to keep your ego from going out to outer space^^
LDD...yeah i tried to stay true to that advice today... but i guess i did too much still^^ i try to be an overachiver but i lack the skill^^
at not_U : yep...that is the GS i currently use... stored that way is now the only stuff i accept to work with... i got cheaply some GWGS recently and i can only use it to fill sections with as it is almost cured in the middle between Y and B already... crappy way to sell reactive materials together???
at dave... nopr...i couldn´t bear butchering hagrid... he is one of my favorite characters... he was the one why i sticked to the books reading them in english...the german translated version lacks the slang hagrid or other characters use and i need that in a book... germans get so cramped when it comes to speech impediment...
so here goes...
that mini i used you connoisseur of lego designs will notice ...hopefully is a cop...a cop mini from an old range called jack stone...which i detest quite at large... the minis just look dumb in my view and lack character...which makes it perfect to do what i did to that mini...
which you see here at first in its natural state...
then...
i took off the cap...well in essence i effectifly lobotomized that poor fella...no mercy!!! off with his hat as the red queen would have said...^^
this reminds me a bit of that hannibal movie end...^^
then...the GS massacre started...
i sculpted the hair with a needle tool from my dentists tools...but the major work on the chest and abs i did with the new paintshaper provided by LDD...here is to you good sir!!!
next step would be to work on the neckmuscles..and the pants... i need to get that torn look and after that step...not before tomorrow i guess will be the sculpting of arms and back...
how do you like?
speak your mind as you see fit^^

I think the abs are a little too defined (sharp edges I mean, not that he has done too many situps), but I think overall he's pretty awesome! Hair looks great, and it seems that you're getting the hang of the paintshaper pretty quick.
thanks rawson... the shaper took some getting used to and i am learning as i go along.,..that is the bad side effect of having chums all around the world... you can never have them around and telling you what is what when you do the stuff... but well it is as it is...and yep... i second your view here the abs are too defined... i need to get me some referrence shots ...or probably a catachan bare chested mini (we all know they are pretty much hulk looking anyways^^) while i sculpt to get a feel of what looks right...
the best part was tho that my kids recognized the mini already...^^ well the color of the GS helped there^^
well the next as max always describes this on the honeydo list is making a hulk mini out of a lego mini for the kids... they are atm totaly hyped by the avengers (note an old TV cartoon series currentlöy on TV...) and they lack that extra muscle that the hulk provides...so i recruited an old lego...this one is a bit taller than standard lego minis and it will get covered as good as it is possible with gs to get me a hulk looking lego mini...cross your fingers... guess that falls uner the "that one perfect thing I've been dying to sculpt" ^^
it will stay a toy for my kids... this also makes it kinda tricky...as it needs to be usable on lego bricks still after the sculpting work...so legs and arms need to be movable...
^ahh, nice work there vik, makes me miss having my neice and nephew living with us a while back.. my nephew was a superhero fanatic, i made him countless wolverine claws, ironman costumes, me and my brother even had a Spiderman vs Venom fight for his birthday...
i bet he was... heck who wouldn´t... hmmm.... would you happen to have some old pics of that costume? would like to see that... my kids would go spare if i did that for them^^ as a dad you always need some extra mental crowbar with your kids^^
