My first ever conversion... so obviously my best! (Also, happens to be my first real attempt at painting any warhammer minis.) It turned out better then I hoped for.

Where did the body come from...That has some Serious Dakka on it!
Beezley - I really like the Iron Priest and the way you gave him a thunder hammer...Heck yeah!

The Arm with the power klaw on it came from the hydraulic peice that broke off of my wartrukk's wrecking ball. and the right arm is 2 big guns cut off, and doubled up together. with two tankbusta mines glued together as the pivot point. And the entire rest of the body is a nob with strategically glued shoulder plates... lots of shoulder plates. the head/torso of the grot is from the warbiker grot that's hanging on the pole.
yeah that was my first time using somthin like that in a conversion
im traiding that cirisis suit for a rino, and some bits with someone. i thought it was fair. i had the body laying around so i just added some tau bits to it as i thought looked good.
i wanted a big cannon arm thing so i looked around and found a straw... added some bits and there we go ^_^
it was a bit hard to glue down though :/ im deffenetly going to use a straw again in other conversions that i might do. expecialy the bendy part for rubber parts or somethin

converted battlesuit for a rhino? thats such a bargin that it could only have been made by some kind of pelvic thru-
VEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRAAAAAA!!
A few of my conversions. A lot of 'em, yes, but I really have too many to pick one that's the best, and honest to god this is just a small sampling. >.<
First off, a Stormlord Krueger warlock for a friend, complete with impaled Incubus host:
And the green:
Next, a couple of Skorne Agonizers I converted up to troll the PETT idiots on the Privateer Press forums:
And a rear view of the twins, so you can see where they join:
And the green for that:
The next, my Borka. Not a very complex conversion, but amusing (and an absolute pain to pull off, given how much cutting it took to get his finger out of his fist).
A Khadoran Bokur I've been working on on and off for a year or two now:
And, finally, for those of you who are annoyed that not a single GW model has shown up yet, my Alpha Legion daemon prince. Paintjob is old and craptastic, and he'll probably be taking a nice bath soon to fix that.

I like the Wazdakka! I have been thinking about how I wanted to make one...Was thinking about using the Rail guns from broadsides along with some Deffgun bitz!
I wish I still had it my 1st edition Space Marine lietenant I rolled up his combi weapon a quad melta gun he held it with a power fist, he was awsome sold him for $20. ;(
Chaos dread for my new khorn army. I am planning on having 3 because they are fun to build. Saw is from the Pent engine for which hunters.
I had to build the arm using mostly toothpicks to hold the buzz saw.
I really love my deamon prince though. Balrog wings (Not a complicated conversion).
More pics in my gallery.
Unrelated to the topic, but inspired by that awsome Templar, does anyone know where the BT kit is? I can't find in on the GW site. Have they removed it?

I'm currently working on an Imperial Guard Destroyer Tank Hunter and a Salamander Command Vehicle... My favourite has to be the Destroyer.
Remember - it's nowhere near finished... And, uh, the Laser Destroyer (the cannon, you plank!) is blue taced to the hull. In case you were wondering why it's leaning down.
Ïf you'd like to follow my progress, visit my thread http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/306809.page#1771306. Thanks
This is probably my "best" conversion. It's one of my old Nurgle Defilers. Keep in mind I built this model years before the Soulgrinder was released, so the design is something I came up with on my own, rather than attempting to create a Nurgle Soulgringer.
Although this is probably my favorite model I've done. I wasn't entirely happy with the scythe, but overall, still my favorite model from my old Death Guard army.
And this is a Plaguereaper baneblade I built a few years back and sold to someone in Australia. I never painted this model, though.
He's only in the beginning stages, but my broodlord tearing a space wolf in half. Damn dogs. Sorry for the low-res pic, don't have a camera other than on my phone.
http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/123603-.html?m=2 As i dont know how to post pics (forgot how to, used to know a site where you dont need an account to make it where you can paste, but oh well) My dread. Didnt have a PC or TLAC, so I improvised. Maybe if i find the right parts I'll cut him into a ven dread shape.
My Wood Eldar Wraithlord, made from Wraithlord and Ent bits, armed with a High Elf Repeater Bolt Thrower (Bright Lance 90% of the time) and a wraithsword and two shuriken cannons.
Currently basecoated but daren't begin to paint for fear of doing it wrong and the laborious greenstuffing not surviving the paint removal. :\
I really am not happy with the loincloth anymore, so considering replacing it with the swirling banner from the new Seekers of Slaanesh set (since I'm not using it anyway) and painting the vines rather than modelling them.
Alas no, my Daemons army has been taking up my time, since it's finished models wise, just need to finish converting, painting, etc Need photos retaking of my Pathfinders/Glade Guard since I have a new camera, and have the bitz for Striking Scorpions/Dark Elf Corsairs and my Shining Spears/Glade Riders. Will probably showcase them about when I've got going again . Every model of my Wood Eldar will be extensively converted. But, since it's my favourite and not too bad focus wise, my favourite Pathfinder (the only one without a powerbow):-
Love the phalanx formation, it really makes you remember that the back rows can fight too aswell!
My Wraithlord is indeed a playing piece, though my Eldar army is mostly him, 10 Pathfinders and a bunch of pieces and ideas, so I won't have a playable army anytime soon. Considering doing a P&M blog for my Shadow Daemons army and my Wood Eldar army.
I saw something interesting on this thread a whie back, but I can't find it now...The sprueanid? Someone made a hormaguant out of sprue pieces. It was sooo rad.
Well my Slaanesh Daemon Princess,in my Emperor's Children army, She's really is just a nice Living Saint, that's because a part of me still hopes that SoBs make come-back.

Interesting Ork...BTW I must say the Primarch looks amazing and Leman Russ must be proud to have such an interesting conversion done of him...Good Job!

He looks like the most orkiest ork I've seen! I love it!
I'll post pics of the whole army (in another thread) when they're done, it's been by far my biggest under taking in conversions since every single one (50 plus models) has been converted. Pelts added, battle damage added, and none of them are wearing helmets except the terminators.
Wow, great conversions and scratchbuilds all accross!
Well, usually the last model is the best model, so I would like to share my "CHARON" space (c)hopper - it's loosely based on a UH-1 Huey, but 40K'ed and based as a "pave low" version on my ATHENA airship:
It's a complete scrathcbuild, while the crew and Special Forces team members are conversions of regular IG soldiers.
The CHARON is completed and weathered, as well as the diorama display base
and the first four Special Forces
I hope you like it.
Cheers
Klaus, not Santa - http://fischers-design-shop.blogspot.com/
Well, the ATHENA is a complete scratchbuild also and acts as an Aircraft Carrier.
Here you can see her in full size, held by my nephew Florian
It has room for some gimmicks, like the painting sailors
or mural windows
or slogans
Here is the very begining of it, May 2009:

Hi all
have posted some of this before, its still a work in progress as im not great at highlighting so am practising on other models first
what do you think?

the giant was released in 2006, so "years before the soulgrinder was released" is a bit exaggerated

very cool,
man where do guys get this plastic card, I can't find it anywhere, and don't say my local craft and hobby store cause I checked........man I wish i could do stuff like this.
EDIT: and I hate you Cadaver, in a strictly yours are better than mine, kind of way.

Kingdom Hearts Cloud Strife to represent a barbarian in Warhammer Quest
techically thats a charicter from final fantasy (i can't remember who, but im pretty sure its not cloud), but kingdom hearts is one of those weird games that jumbles all heroes together so its an easy mistake to make.
not that it matters much, just felt like setting the record straight.
Some of my very first conversions using bits and old stuff, painting is prob abit shabby but these were some of my very first ones but still they have a special place in my shelf.
The siegedread amuses me. I have a feeling that if he was real he would have to sit down before he fired his gun or he would have trouble! its a nice thought... and space marines need ski - mobiles for all those ice planets

It does when and if I can get to use her, sadly my local GW shop don't like it and my gamming group are a little hard lined as well. They mostly complan that it can't counts as as there is no room for troops in the back. Some folk are like minie naizs where i live

What the hell are skids for! That's the psycopath Rangers way!
Indeed they are. They are a first attempt so i was a little scared about trying things. Didn't wanna wreck the model. So i gave it ago. Liked what i had..thought "Better not extend myself & wreck it." This was the end result. I hope to at some point learn how to actually make the most out of Green Stuff rather then using it to fill in holes.
This model was my most extensive conversion to date.
repositioning of entire model cutting knees elbows etc
scratchbuilt heavy bolter from brass tube, greenstuff, plasticard, various wire for the cables.
scratchbuilt backpack ammo hoppers
and a grand total of 30 heavy bolter rounds
converted and built way back in '02-'03 this was to be first in a 3 man xenos killteam that saddly has not yet been finished. The second model is another marine
with power axe and stormshield (still using the original artemis pose) that is currently undercoated and standing next to this guy. this third was to be a standing marine with power sword
and combibolter-melta. i'm just getting back into painting/modeling after a 6 year gap so WIP Pics to follow in the future.
pitty almost no-one plays inquisitor these days aye?
@Zenarius - Good stuff! I have an Inquistor Model sat in my bitz box. I have absolutely no idea what to do with him haha! Was gonna use parts of him for a Daemon Prince but it never followed through!
No special rules just a standard annihilator (with some statt fudging to make the twin llinked typhoon launchers lascannons) It was built way back in 3rd ed when the vehicle creation rules first came out. Really must remove that assault cannon to miinimise confusion.
I present my by far most heavily converted unit, and my favorite. I present my true scale Ultramarine Chapter Master Kaesar II (bear with a different train of history). A bunch of stuff went into him- Calgar's termy legs, terminator arms, paperclip (for foundations), and a lot of greenstuff.
These are all awesome. For those who are looking for plasticard, in the U.S. most stores do not call it plasticard unless you are at a specialty shop. In lowes and home depot and such they can find it for you if you say you are looking for sheet styrine.
Hey all, here's my best, either my quad bike, or the mutated Ork in terminator armour. Not finished painting them yet, but i think they're pretty cool.
Although i have just finished assembling anther Ork with a modified gun.

Agreed, they look great! And if you wouldn't mind sharing where ya got those wings thatd be awsome! They make me want to convert all sorts of tasty chaos things!

ummm you sure those are yours? those look alot like the models that Blue Table Painting have made http://www.bluetablepainting.com/index.php. Ive seen that painting style and the terrain dozens of times. I just dont want their work stolen form them. now if you work for BTP thats sweet but you can never tell who is saying that some model is theirs when they can just find a pic online and say its their own.
Ah yes i forgot its the GW Nurgle DP, not the FW version, thanks for pointing that out Shame to say that i didnt paint any of my army as im a terrible painter, i had them done by a company in america, BlueTablePainting as you pointed out, I never claimed to paint them myself

Exactly, it's wonderful that you own them, but claiming them like they are your own work is like me going buying some art from a art gallery and telling all my friends I made it myself.
sbrook129 wrote:Im taking pics of them myself now for when i post them so you can see that i actualy do own them

Again, i didnt say that, i just posted them up and said that there my figs which they are...i didnt know this thread was for stuff that you had to do yourself.
this thread is called YOUR best conversion model not someone elses who you bought it from
i dont think there would be any help if we keep arguing about this so you know what you did wrong and lets let this go M'Kay?
True but since they are my models and there converted i thought it would be ok to post them and share there awesomeness, but i guess not, apologies all.
Yeah,I don't like BlueTable whatever guys. I rather fail at my own models then let someone else do it. It's like that time playing a video game,my sister played on my profile and got an achivement I wanted. I can't stand the idea that I didn't earn it myself
I see his point in the fact that he does own them and they are converted..I have seen many people put other peoples stuff up that they liked..At least he owns them. =-)
I understand that some people would rather paint there own stuff and think its a bit lame if people buy pre painted models, but i enjoy the game side of 40k and not realy into sitting painting models for hours which i fail at painting anyway
Wow there is some great stuff on here!!! Inspires me to start to get back to work. So much of my stuff is unfinished... my Boar Giant, my Treebeards (dwarven Longbeards), my zombie dwarves... Anyway, while these aren't my best conversions, they are 2 that I like a lot. I thought I'd show off some of my Chaos Space Marines since there are so many 40K lovers on these sites. The first is a Space Marine Librarian that I just stuck a tentacle arm from the chaos spawn kit onto him. The second is a Chaos Terminator with some spawn bits and the head is from the Empire Wizard kit.

I knew it was BlueTablePainting's but I was afraid to say something, sorry guys. For now on, people should state if they didn't make the conversion themselves. It gives credit where credit is due and it will save us alot of arguing. Although I'll admit it's hard not to acuse him of trying something sneaky. But let's just put this behind us now and see some more conversions
@beork That looks really cool! I think it could use a bit more detail work in various arears, the gun popping out the most in terms of lacking detail.
I absolutely love that sword though! Nice work.

I had the tail bit laying around and i cant think of anything to attach it to , yes it does look like some sort of stingray lol The command tank is GI Joe R.H.I.N.O
Cutthroatcure wrote:That Imperial Mobile Command Base is sooo sweet...Is that a tank coming out the side of it?
The thing comming out is: AT-43's UNA walker , here are more pics
I use them as Leman Russ battle tank if i dont want them to have sponsons.
here's my contribution... my Space Hulk special characters conversions of Lysander and Marneus on the Throne (from the 4th edition codex pic). Lol, the glue is probably still a bit wet on the snow flock on marneus' base when i took the pic. I wanted to keep the Space Hulk and Blood Angel feel of the model but with the pose of Marneus on his throne. Lysander is magnetized at the forearm as i use him more frequently as Belial of the Dark Angels and i've got the three weapon combos he can field magnetized too.
Thanks Emporer Penguin, He has been worked on by Durbag Zogbag (his painboy) a bit
Your looted wagon is epic, Gorskar! Thanks for posting it in my thread!
Here's my conversion for my CSM Army. The chapter i'm doing is the Dragon Warriors. I will not take credit for the conversion idea I saw it in a tutorial someone did and posted here a while back (can't seem to find it anymore, but i'm sure it's around.) I fell in love with the conversion and all my Chaos Warriors have it. This is currently my best conversion model i've ever done in my opinion although I have a few others I'm working on.
Another conversion I started and havn't finsihed is a Chaos Valkyrie. The green stuff was meant to represent feathers. Maybe i'll get back into it some day especially now that i'm doing a Chaos IG Army.
joker8911 wrote:Magc8Ball, whats the flag above that dragon? looks like the Fijian flag. very cool by the way.
It's a fictional variation on the British naval ensigns of the period, using a light blue field rather than the red (or white or blue) field of the navy. It's similar to a non-defaced Royal Air Force ensign. (And I can see why it looks like the Fiji flag... since it basically IS the Fiji flag, without a defacement and using the pre-1801 Union Flag in the canton. Huh, go figure.)
My newest and now favorite conversions of Tankbustas. Theyre not finished yet, as I have to clean up the reckless glueing an I need to finish green stuffing.
