I think they are cool, but I am going to run into the same problem I have with the Tohaa. Way to much small details, it becomes an overbearing choir to try and paint all the stuff on those.
I will probably pick them up because I do have a vanilla CA force going, but my focus is still going to be on the MAF.
I dig em. Very sinister looking. They will give me fits painting, I'm sure, but I see them as a challenge to try new styles and techniques.
Maybe some white base coating and ink work for all the inlaid detail, then masking and exterior work.
Damn it, I wasn't going to start a 3rd faction, but those are so cool I may have to. They all look pretty big, though, so is this box going to be more expensive than the other starters?

I wouldn't think so, as the pushback from the MAF starter set pricetag(despite being completely reasonable) was less than pleasant.
Also, they did an across the board price upping to 39,95E but left the MAF box alone at its 44,95E pricetag on August 1st.
While it's not as fancy as the upcoming Antenocitis stuff, I see the Troll Trader are selling a new line of pretty cheap mdf terrain, some of which is suited for Infinity. Considering that it's from "TTCombat" I have a sneaking suspicion that Troll Trader have just purchased themselves a laser cutter
The laser defence platform and walkways both seem pretty good value for money.

Since there's obviously no SEF or MAF in this box are we to assume these will all be in one new CA sectorial?
Do we know if the "turned Tohaa" will be in the same new sectorial with the Batroids & Umbra? Or do these models belong to 2 separate sectorials we haven't seen yet?
As of right now, nobody knows in regards to the Trihedron(the name given to the 'traitor' Tohaa, as there was no Sepsitorizing involved) and the Umbraa Legate.
The Batroids are supposed to be in the EI Sectorial as their Line Infantry for Acheron Falls though.
I noticed there is Rasyat art in O:I and since the miniatures are due a resculpt could this point to it being sooner rather than later? Or am I clutching?
But my guess on a Rasyat rescupt would be maybe next Summer.
HMG Soggy is next, then likely the Rodak since we have his dossier, they said he shares the base armor of the Yaogats so I would put them up higher then the Rasyat. However I could be surprised.
I'm a bit late to the thread and infinity as a whole really, but I wanted to start Tohaa or CA next. I can't decide which one right now as they're both great looking, but can someone fill me in on the traitor Tohaa because that makes my choice so much easier.
I need the new HMG Soga at the same time as the Ras so I'm hoping they are going to come out relatively near each other.
Definitely Rasyat art. I feel like if they are going to use the art then they'll want to be putting out the new models for customers to purchase off of the back of O: I.

Right now, we don't know much about them so that is difficult.
Oh yeh I totally understand that I'm just wondering if it's been chosen to go into OI for a reason? Would they choose to show art for a miniature that needs and is due and update without planning to actually update it?

In case some people don't get why the MAF box cost more then the other starter it is becouse it is the only starter with a Ajax size model. The other starters were never planed to cost as much and are not cheaper becouse some crying from people that don't understand why the MAF starter is so much. Dispite what all the whinnng of the Infinity forum when the MAF price was set.

Just do a search for TTCombat on fleabay.
I noticed these when i was on ebay earlier. I'm not a fan of the building designs but they are cheap and i think some of the other stuff looks pretty good value. Now if only they would make some decent looking containers...
Heh, I ordered one of the laser defense platforms and then an hour later they added the missile launcher platform too. Doh! The pains of being an early adopter
hey Alph is there a good club that hosts open gaming or infinty tournies in Mass? I only ask as a fellow New Englander getting into the game, there isn't much support in my part.
I think the various "Battleground" stores might do...something?
And maybe Pandemonium in Cambridge?
Bah, ok then, thanks Alph. I live in Maine but thought a trip down on occasion would be worth it. Maybe I'll try and get something up and running over here and you can come visit instead
He has BS14, a Feuerbach(!), X Visor, and Marksmanship X.
Marksmanship X does not include levels 1, 2, or 3. It does however let you use a complete Order to reduce your Burst to 1 and get a MOD +6 to your BS.
Janzerker posted this as well:
Weapon options are either Feuerbach+VisorX or Sniper Rifle K1
That's a BIG deal as it is the first time we're seeing a K1 Sniper Rifle.
Also it was mentioned Scyllah is a powerful hacker for Aleph. The character's name makes reference to the mythological character when she was a beautiful nymph before being converted into a monster. Far from the TAG people had speculated with.
Interesting. Quite a few Agema now. They ought to show the basic Steel Phalanx a little more love. This guy looks like he'll be a bit of a beast though.
Considering he's Agema, we can assume Teucer also has MSV 2.
This Marksmanship X is a bit strange. I rather liked the Spotbot gimmick, but I guess this guy is too manly for such things. BS 20 is a bit crazy. Then again, it makes him a nice offensive During-your-turn counterpart to Atalanta's otherwise defensive ARO monstrosity.
Barzam wrote: Interesting. Quite a few Agema now. They ought to show the basic Steel Phalanx a little more love. This guy looks like he'll be a bit of a beast though.
I'd really rather see them slow down on the Steel Phalanx stuff entirely and show the Vedic side a bit more love.

Hmm now that is interesting. Obviously not an ARO weapon but you wouldn't want this guy firing at your troops, especially with that gun...
The weapons and skills make him potent for TAG/HI removal role. Should he had MSV 2 he'd be your counter to Marut, Avatar, Cutter and Tikbalang as it has mimetism.

Sounds like a plan!
Maybe we can meet in the middle, if there's a game store...there?
If the first photo is for how the book entries will look... that's great! I really like entries with either photos of the models or at least somewhat closely matching art next to them.

Just decoration

In some pretty massive Infinity news from Corvus Belli they have announced that when the next ITS Season begins in 2015 the new Infinity Army 5.0 program will launch with all the profiles for Infinity 3rd Edition, Campaign: Paradiso and Human Sphere. Everything will be updated for the new rules!
Automatically Appended Next Post: Remind me when they post those updates to start a thread on profile discussion, I am sure there will be both some positive and negative emotion about them.

Yeah it's so much more aesthetically pleasing. And this is a really good sign that they are moving N3 away from the wall of text type set up we got in N2.

So I know it's early concept work but I am not a fan of the night gown Is it just me?
I'm glad we finally have a conclusive "yes, everything will be updated" answer. That was one of the only things I was worried about since some interactions indicated that we may not see Human Sphere and Paradiso profiles updated right of the bat. I'm glad to see that this isn't the case.
And I like the new statblock format, very clean. It's come a long way from the original 1st Edition statblock.

That was never going to happen. The fact that they're changing rules which will fundamentally change point values means they had to update everything. What they mean by only putting stuff from the Core rules in N3 is purely about what will be in the book. Human Sphere and Paradiso units will get PDF updates on the website, along with units which are Acheron Falls pre-releases (like the new Tohaa stuff)..

Ok this confuses me. Please clarify if I am wrong but will they keep printing out of date and incorrected valued units when they print more of the Human Sphere and Paradiso? I mean I can understand them wanting to keep the books and that is great and all but why would they purposely print incorrect material? That also seems malicious and makes me scratch my head. Or will they update those books stats for N3? Or am I missing something? I get its updated online but shouldn't any new prints of the books also be updated?

I suspect it depends on how they do things in N3 itself
for example they may have a section saying if you have Paradiso and/or Human Sphere replace these profiles and these rules with the ones in this section, nice and simple
but
if they put out Paradiso/Human Sphere 1.1 with adjusted contents you know there will be some folk who feel forced to buy the new version (we gamers do have a need for stuff) and also some jerks who won't play people with the old version 'because it's out of date'
so both possible options have potential down sides
I highly doubt they will edit Human Sphere and Paradiso with the new profiles. I know some of us like having the books, but besides fluff and the campaign (in Paradiso) there is absolutely no point in owning them.
It would be nice but expect just a "Download the free update."
Add to that that they have said they consider the online rules the 'true' rulebooks. Any edits will be added to the online PDFs, not the printed books. The PDFs are considered a living rulebook, and the one to use. The printed book is a nice, pretty physical copy for people who want such things.
They're changing the sign on BTS, and adding a profile attribute to models. That means that they have to, at the very least, issue a GW edition edition sized errata for the troop profiles not in the main rulebook.
The extent of any other necessary changes remains to be seen, but you might notice that neither of the two sample profiles were in the main rulebook, because those two factions didn't exist as playable factions until Human Sphere (Aleph) and Campaign Paradiso (Tohaa).
Huh, I didn't even notice Teucer's hood. I hope they sculpt him with the hood up, as his jacket does look kind of strange like that. Having the hood up with help complete the Assassin's Creed look. Though, why they're putting that look into Aleph and not Haqqislam, I'll never understand.
I think they were going for the "I'm such a badass that I can wear pajamas on the battlefield and kick your butt!" Look, and missed slightly. Hopefully when it goes from art to 3d it'll look better.

It's worth re-posting this link as it's quite important news for ITS players.
For those who haven't looked at the link:
- Infinity Army Builder 5.0, containing all the 3rd edition rues and stat updates
- also includes updates for Paradiso and Human Sphere, it will be free as before
For the uninitiated, on which date does the 2015 ITS season actually begin?
Medium of Death wrote: As somebody that's ever eyeing the Infinity range is it possible to create entire mercenary forces yet?

Yeah, no all-merc forces just yet (not until Acheron Falls drops in 9 months to 2 years... or so).
And just to note, that the way Infinity tends to work, you probably don't want to create a list that is 100% any one unit. And in most cases due to unit availability, it is exceedingly hard to do with anything other than basic light infantry units.
But with all that said, a good stop-gap mercenary faction right now is the Haqqislam sectorial Qapu Khalqi. They get a wide selection of mercenary units including some Nomad units. In particular they can take 5 Kaplan and link them together in to a fire team. So they are your best bet right now, and I doubt a dedicated merc list will have a much better availability on them than that. But Qapu Khalqi can currently run a list that is made from a majority of merc troops and the Haqq troops available to it have a very mercenary/space pirate feel to them.
A bit too dark lord of the Sith, or is that Sith lord of the dark?, the paint scheme. Minis are great though. The Umbra is flipping the bird to, hmmm, ALEPH of course
Medium of Death wrote: As somebody that's ever eyeing the Infinity range is it possible to create entire mercenary forces yet?

Pure Merc, tournament legal, although it is technically QK
Open with Army 4 Kaplans have not Lt option, so you need to use the Druze. You may want to shuffle the combat groups a bit.
So basically, we are waiting on the December releases. The HMG Sogarat and... that is the last that I have heard. With the release schedule in flux, are we going to see the Hac Tao (pun not intended) the Teucer, the Alguacil box (curious about that one too). Is there anything new? Not that most of Decembe won't be taken up with N3 talk anyhow. Who will be the first to whine about something in its contents when it releases? And what will the whine be about? Never mind. Too much of a troll.
Hi, hoping this is the right place to ask- the 3rd edition rulebook says the LE mini window is over, but it's still a linked option-- is the mini no longer available?
Pretty sure the LE bonus was meant to last with the preorder until the beginning of this week. Whoever you are ordering from might have preordered extra. I would contact them directly to see if you can get a claim on the extra LE's.

yes actually, think that might work very well! I was thinking very white, crisp/clean armour, with a very vivid orange/red for the alien skin tone. It might contrast quite well, and make it look more high tech in a 'Dragonball Z Super Saiyan' kind of way

Tracker has a HMG Unidrons have Plasma Rifles
I guess those Unidrons do have Plasma Carbines. My mistake.
What makes you think the Tracker has an HMG? That looks like a Sniper Rifle from the concept sheet. It even has a scope.

Completly basing it off of this. Maybe deep in my heart its a starter with a HMG. Need offical word I guess
ski2060 wrote: The graphic posted by CB has the weapons listed on it. The Tracker is listed with an HMG.
I'm hoping it was a mistake, but really.. that thing could be either weapon.
And.. .not plasma RIFLES. Plasma CARBINES. Different stats.
You may be correct; it's labeled an HMG on their official release. It seems they suddenly changed the design of their HMG from the concept sheet, or something is mislabeled.
I still think it's mislabeled on the image. It looks like a sniper rifle, and this wouldn't be the first time that the release photo was mislabeled. Then again, with the ridges and the newly deigned Haqqi HMG, you could easily pass off that Tracker unit as an HMG or a Sniper.
I thought they had plasma carbines, or did they do away with rifles and all plasma is now a carbine? Either way it's a neat set, maybe my shasvastii guys will be getting some company.
Thanks. I read in this thread that there was some sort of a delay and wasn't sure if they were a part of it. I've been googling them every few weeks and haven't seen any unboxing pics yet so figured I'd ask. They'd make for some interesting Space Wolf Wulfen models.

I would have loved to see what CB could have done with re-designed Exrah (and a Caskuda) vs. Evil Tohaa too though.
I really don't like the Tohaa - on every level.
I, too, dislike asparagus.
Presumably the units types are
3x Unidron Batroids-- Light Infantry
1x Umbraa Legate-- Heavy Infantry-- Shall we call him Darth Icky? ( A George Lucas joke. Sort of.)
1x Makaul Tracker Unit-- MSV2/3 and Medium Infantry with HMG?
1x Fractaa Drop Trooper-- AD:3 and Medium Infantry
At least this would be the current pattern for most vanilla starter boxes. The HMG seems a typo, most of the starters have sniper rifles, when they have such things. A look at the concept art would be helpful.
Without the unit profiles, who knows what to make of these. But they won't be in the US until January anyway, presumably after the N3 books arrive. Well, the downloads should be available anyway.
Red Corsair wrote: So are the combined army good and the tohaa baddies in the fluff?
Is there a wiki where I can read into it?
The fluff is in the rulebooks.
Who is good and who is bad isn't as simple as it sounds. The general gist of it right now is humanity is caught between two sides of an aeons long war for an alien artefact they have no idea they're sitting on, and one one side are being manipulated and on the other shot to peices.
That said, the CA are the core aggressors of the piece. They, or rather the EI, are the ones who came down on the human race like a mallet. The fluff paints them very clearly as a bad guy, desperate for power and knowledge and willing to do anything to get it.
Not that this means the Tohaa are good guys.
And it doesn't mean the humans are either, although they are the victims of that particular story.
The Tohaa remind me of that one episode of SG1, they make contact with some hightech race and things are great, everyone is a politician or retired. They over coffee have a suspicion and after some checking the find out the birthrate is ridiculously low. Some projects are made and the entire human race would be dead by XX years. Don't invade, just show up and make everything better while slowly 'killing them with kindness'
Aww dang it now I kind of want some... Maybe just the 'evil' CA supporters will do though!
Tohaa were the ones that caused the wormhole collapse, trapped the Ariadnans, set back humanity's space travel, and then decided to intervene in an attempt to be heralded as heroes.
I think the implication with the Tohaa is that either they have malicious intent or they are willing to use humanity as a meat shield to buy themselves more time. More likely the former so they are probably just the lesser of two evils but there is no fact in that. Saying we know for sure exactly what everyone's motivation is, is doing the fluff a huge disservice.
It's the same as saying that Aleph made illegal attacks on the Nomads despite the fact the fluff states that this is the Nomad perspective and no one else is buying it. Now I'm of the mind that Aleph did make those attacks which has very sinister consequences for the Human Sphere but I wouldn't say that Aleph are evil or that it definitely happened. It's also feasible that it's all Black Hand propaganda.
Thanks to Paradiso we do know that the Tohaa see us as a danger to the Digesters and we know what to do to in that case. We are only allies until the CA is defeated, well if the CA is defeated.
I wanted actual space elves more than 'treacherous space asparagus". The new Combined are freaking FANTASTIC, and I am glad they went that route than try to make the alien bugs work, (seriously, ef the caskuda) but I want space elves :(
new morats are cool but i like the old better, but holy cow, man, these new Combined do all the right things to all my right places
Overall I find it a good thing, I wouldn't mind Crest of the Stars thrown in but it doesn't strike me as something that's needed or it would be a well fit. You could covert Morlocks, they already have space elf girl in there. Silly Bakunin.
I already have Eldar and Retribution for my interest so I'm also fine at that end.
It's nice to ditch the 'space fantasy' for something a bit more challenging and elegant in my opinion. Not so challenging as to massively restrict potential audience but enough to provide something different.
I still suspect that ALEPH is a lot more sinister than is let on. There's probably a lot of misinformation and coverups on ALEPH's part regarding the Combined Army and the EI. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out that the EI's first contact was actually peaceful and ALEPH was the one to shoot first. After all, we know that the EI has peacefully integrated numerous alien species. Not everyone was sepsitorized. I'm hoping that when the story advances, we start either seeing human mercs working with the CA, or that the Nomads straight up join them.
Really the impression you get from Campaign Paradiso is that at least from the outside the Tohaa are trying to help humanity fight the Combined Army and the EI - this is the 'official' interpretation that the Human Sphere understands. However, there are lots of underlying hints throughout the Paradiso story that the Tohaa aren't the 'good guys' that they appear to be and might actually be manipulating events.
We really need a background discussion thread in that section of Dakka..
I don't know why they would be. Yu-Jing has the potential to field REM as HI. Rather sure EI can build up something even better. I expect them to be in 13 - 16 point category, would be kinda disappointed, if they don't have any BTS value.

+10pts for Crest of the Stars reference.
But I think they're more like Crest of the Stars in spirit, not so much in looks. I think just this once we can indeed dispense with space elves.
Casey's Law wrote: It's nice to ditch the 'space fantasy' for something a bit more challenging and elegant in my opinion. Not so challenging as to massively restrict potential audience but enough to provide something different.
Absolutely. I would've been soured on the Tohaa as a faction and Infinity as a whole if they had been written as space elves. Infinity certainly isn't strict hard sci-fi, but it still isn't sci-fantasy. We've got more than enough of that already.

I was actually talking about the a background thread!
But, some batrep threads (how about having a sticky thread?) would be a cool idea also. It doesn't have to contain the batreps themselves, just the links to them (there was something similar on the official Infinity forums I believe).
The recurring issue with stickying a thread is that as soon as you do people stop reading them. What would be feasible is linking batreps in the current sticky which Yak asked us to use as a hub when we want to keep things stuck around. I guess that would mean me puling my finger out. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I feel another Community Growth phase coming on but I'll need a fair amount of support for it.
These buildings are very cool.
However, they should have painted the resin bits up before shooting this video. Even if it was a simple wash or something.
Also, the table they're demo-ing them on is awful. Looks like someone barfed on it.
Not a big fan of their giant Joker Lips plant.
Dare I say these buildings are too sci-fi for infinity. They conjure Hadley's Hope a la Aliens more than anything else.
The jury's still out. Perhaps with a lick of paint, some proper Infinity graffiti & Aristeia! ads they'll fit in.
Maybe they'd work better on a polar themed Svarlheima board?
Yeah, they keep spouting off about how the buildings are prepainted and the resin is precolored, but while the buildings look ok it just looks like regular unprimed resin to me.
The buildings are pretty much perfect for Dawn or Paradiso settlements tho. Cartainly a decent Aliens vibe, but I get more of a Mass Effect feeling from them that isn't at all out of place. MAS and Pastcraft already has the city buildings down pretty well and Warsenal has a solid non-prefab military base, these are a nice option too.
And I love that Antenocities is making the TOPOS vehicles in resin as well, that's just awesome
Sugar, I actually really like this stuff. It looks like it has waaay better detail than most of the stuff available right now.
Forward base seems like a very good price for filling a table.
This. to my knowledge is the first official plants we've ever been informed of in the Infinity universe, one named, Paradiso Sail. I have high hopes that these sorts of details will be in the RPG.
I rather like the vehicles too.
I'll see if I can repost the images.
Automatically Appended Next Post: You know what, if I repost all the awesome stuff this is going to be way too long. Here's a link to the kickstarter. This stuff is unbelievable, look at the interiors.
Normally yes.
However, after 2-3 months of big news events: Icestorm & N3, this thread has gone cold. CB is too busy relocating, getting N3 books out & meeting the Icestorm demand they underestimated about 10x over.
Same story as all terrain kickstarters.... great stuff, but prohibitive shipping costs (and in this case the whole thing is kinda premium priced to begin with).
I guess it depends how much you were planning to pledge for.
I'm at Forward Base+, and I don't consider $30-40 to be punitive shipping for the amount of MDF and resin that I'll be getting.
The art will be the big kicker for me, then the lore. As long as there are lots of new specimens in both categories I'll be happy. I would advise you don't go expecting any more than that and refined rules.

Yeah I can't wait to read the new Nomad fluff.
Big time! What are we hoping for? Black Hand?
I'm looking forward to new fluff, particularly the Tohaa, Mercs and Nomads. Black Hand is certainly at the top of my wish list for this book.
Mr.Church13 wrote:The shipping killed it for me. This stuff is super nice otherwise
Don't they offer free shipping on their regular site if you go over a certain cost why charge so much now?
They do, but that's when you're buying stuff at full price which is what pays for the shipping.

Bear in mind this is a direct replacement for the main rulebook (which chronologically comes before the Tohaa were known about by Humans) and that Merc Companies are supposedly coming in Acheron Falls. The chances of there being aby Tohaa background in it are pretty much zero and new Merc background doesn't seem likely either. :(

I would be very, very surprised if the background for the Tohaa (at least some mention of them) isn't inserted into the new book. Actually, probably shocked would be a better word!
We've seen how the background has been progressed, with Ko Dali etc. and the arrival on Paradiso. I reckon there will probably be a small subsection on those (and perhaps even a mention for 'Archon Falls') as well as links to those books.

Then you better sit and prepare a defibrilator before starting to read the book, it is supposed to be the reedition of the core book and we know it does not overwrite thr others so I'm almost sure no Tohaa fluff will be there as they are Paradiso guys, Ko Dali like the first McDog profile simply won't appear there, I think it was said somewhere that Aleph and Tohaa profiles wouldn't be in the book but would get a pdf and Army update along with the others because Aleph appeared in HS and Tohaa in Paradiso, but don't ask me to quote that as I don't remember where did I hear it.
I'm betting there will be SOME Tohaa fluff in the book.
They are putting the new CA starter in the N3 book, so I would assume having the Sygmaa Tohaa in the N3 book they would reference "good" Tohaa at least a bit.
the new CA starter has nothing to do with the N3, evil tohaa will probaly be in acheron fall in one more year ++
you will just have some profile for the N3
N3 is a "restart" of fluff. Done from the same time as the first one and also meant for new players reading the fluff. CB has said they don't want to ruin the story for people who want to read all 3 books. So no fluff on Tohaa except the "native race on planet" bit.
DAMN, that is some ice-cold shiz. Looks like CB have decided to add a serious antihero to the Haqq team. The emotional/social complexity of their fluff is great.
"Kasym Beg. That’s me. Highwayman, asphalt warrior. A beast on the battlefield and in the bedroom. The ruthless usurper of a criminal empire. The killer of the man who took me in as his son and raised me for great things. A man possessed by the demons of lust and ambition. A man dragged to the top by the forceful passion of two women.
My story begins with a boy who dazzled the greatest Kum chieftain of Gabqar with his talent for falconry. Izzat Beg took me in, trained me personally and made me his right hand. I was destined to succeed him when he decided to quit, and anybody would have been satisfied with that. But I am not just anybody. Izzat Beg himself taught me that, if I wanted something, I ought to take it and make it mine, for that is the only way to truly own something. It just so happened that Izzat Beg had something I wanted: the beautiful Nazarova twins, Zuleyka and Zamira. His peach-skinned, gorgeous concubines. The fiercest tigresses in the chieftain’s harem. I was true to myself and to my father’s teachings when I took them and made them mine. Both of them. Yet I knew it was a grave mistake, one that could cost me my life. Because Izzat Beg never shared his rides: not his bikes, and not his women. If he ever found out about our bout of passion, the three of us would be carrion for the vultures. I could have left the Nazarova twins, forgotten it all and kept things simple, but the girls wouldn’t have gone easy on me. They wanted power as much as I did, or perhaps more. There was no other way: Izzat Beg had to die before he got wind of anything and decided to take me out.
The old man went down fighting like the lion he had always been, but this pride has a new leader: younger, stronger, and more resolute. Izzat Beg died by my hand, but I am not an ungrateful dog, and I bear these scars as a memento of that final fight, as a tribute to the man who was a father to me. My father gave me nothing, everything I have I wrested from him. His clan, his business, his fortune, his women and his deals with the Gabqar Khanate. Everything I want, I take, and I make mine. That’s me. Kasym Beg, the greatest of the Kum chieftains."

Heheh...
They don't want people to stop buying those books. I'm guessing they have enough in stock to try and push them out before they become so irrelevant that nobody wants them.
Whatever, I bought HS & Paradiso. They're good reads, but nobody is going to be referencing them for rules anymore...
I wonder if at some point they will make miniatures of the 'Nazarova twins'
They've already said they will be; and what's more for whatever reason they felt it necessary to emphasize when discussing them that the "Nazarova twins" are bisexual.

That will add a layer of realism to clinking the models together and making kissing noises that would otherwise have been lacking.
Bostria has stated more than once and more than twice that there will not be either fluff or army lists in the N3 book for ALEPH and Tohaa, and has also stated that both factions still will be having new units, being the profiles available in pdf and the Infinity Army. If those units are included in a book, it will be Acheron Falls.
Barzam wrote: So, no full Bolt list until Acheron Falls, whenever that'll be. Bah.
Um...
Bolts already have a "full list". Neoterran Capitaline Army(NCA) for PanOceania has them as AVA: Total.

Except that has nothing to do with the Combined Army starter set, which includes two Sygmaa(Tohaa) Trihedron models, and is the topic of this discussion.
The Bolt list as it currently stands does not include the Drop Bears. I seem to recall hearing that they would be added in with either N3 or Acheron Falls and that the current list is pretty much placeholder.

They said the Drop Bear as writing wouldn't work with N2 so we wouldn't get the Drop Bear option (also hinted to be the Engneer) until atleast N3. I'm guessing they add the Blots missing options when the Army Builder updates to N3. They said the 1st of the year, with the online N3 rules later that month.

They do nothing in their own turn other than move.
They must go off if an active enemy model does anything in range, they can't be held back. Note that this includes Holoechoes.
There is no PH modifier to Dodge them.
So as much as they're nasty, a simple Move-Dodge will trigger them and even a basic line trooper has something like a 60% chance of either Dodging or failing to Dodge but still passing the ARM roll.

Hot damn, CB.
Great mini. I'm not particularly impressed with his life altering motivation being trying to sleep with his stepmothers though. Someone at CB must have had a parent remarry recently during a midlife crisis!
Wanted to chime in to mention that I'm convinced that Paradiso will be referred to in the N3-book. The N2-book also mentioned it as it is an important historical event in the time line of the human sphere. That being said, CB will not make the Campaign Paradiso-book obsolete by including more than a reference to the already published book's contents.
They have been so careful to communicate to their business partners that the other books will stay entirely valid purchases, they are not going to jeopardise that now.
Expect the core fluff plus a few words on the wider scope of events. The rest will be left to the existing other two books and the upcoming AF.

The Haqqislam fluff says your wrong, there is already a unit made up of badass harem-girls.
Hahahahahahaha yeah badass....nice one. Lets stay out of this path that leads to goat jokes.
If you like them ist cool mate, I dont...for me there is only one badass Haqq unit, Janisares(half of them arent Haqq*hint* *hint*).
If what Alkasyn is saying comes true, I only hope Nomads will get some bike unit in Archeon Falls so I can convert those babes in to my force.

Probably not with individual profiles. But CB have confirmed there's another Kum box on the way, with both riders being female, and (at least internally) they've been calling them the twins.
ImAGeek wrote: Pretty sure the Twins mentioned there are gonna be the female Kum bikers, for the reasons I stated above. And as already said - Odalisques.
As of right now, it only matches the Spetsnaz and the new Scout. The cross lacing is the indicator.
Looks like December might see a new Russian Ariadna model or potentially a box of them.
ski2060 wrote: Hmmm.. new Kazak box perchance? Or Tankhunters?
Very doubtful it's a Kazak box.
It might be a new Tankhunter(although they refuse to redo the Autocannon one; like chumps) but more likely it is another Spetsnaz(HMG profile exists--or Boarding Shotgun) or a Scout with Ojotnik(which is an iconic main rulebook unit).
It might be a new Tankhunter(although they refuse to redo the Autocannon one...
...probably because it's already awesome, has a way better pose than anything new that's come out in a loooong time (autocannon ragefist, anyone?), and there are plenty of other holes in the line to fill in/redo first.
It's not going to match up well once the rest of the line is updated. Best model in the range will be undernourished teenage girl in comparison to the other new Kazaks in a years time.
The older style Tankhunters are actually heroic in scale in comparison to the newer models.
And I actually don't like the pose. It's ridiculous in style for shooting such a weapon, and the only reason it really sells well is not because of the sculpt, but more because the weapon itself is so goddamn brutal.

I'm pretty sure I only bought that mini cause it looks great, and I don't even collect Ariadna!
The rough jist of it was translated by Yasbir on the official forums:
N3 is not delayed, but have in mind that 8th is holiday in spain and that the deliveries needs more than 12/24h.so,it is difficult that the 9th or 10th everybody could have the book in his hands...but between the 8th and the 19th everybody will have it,some before, some after.
The holiday is the "Feast of Immaculate Conception", if anyone was interested. Also these dates likely only apply to those who preordered from Corvus Belli.
The issue is that we don't know whether or not the December 8th date was JUST for preorders through Corvus Belli--or if US stockists are going to get their stock this week...
I'm, sadly, thinking that it is more likely we will see N3 by mid/late January.
Since all the US 'actual stock you can buy' seems to run 1-2 months behind I'm sure it will be late January at best, and possibly into Feb before it's really available over there
we might just get lucky in Europe, but with the Xmas post hitting full speed ahead I'm not convinced about that either

E. Reaction B2 (Hacker buff for remotes?)
Corrosion(new ammo efect?)
Tinbot(no idea, new bot for specialists?)
Sniffer(new equipment mentioned some time ago, basicly a marker that alows to discover in ZoC)
Blinded(after flash efect?)
Spearhead(no idea)
I really hope they can get delivery to the states for N3 by the beginning of January.
We have a large Dire States tourney in Houston on the 18th of January (at a brewery, if anyone likes beer and wants to come on down).
We really want to do it with full N3 rules, instead of the 2.5 our TO has been running lately.
The same printers who brought us Campaign: Paradiso, eventually? Actually, that's not fair. Similar thing happened to Paizo with their latest Adventure Card game this past August. I suspect it happens more than just rarely-- botched printing runs. Icestorm needed outside printing (books and the Moto.Tronic packs) and outside dice making, in addition to the minis, so three sources for that. Just two for N3, if you consider Derp the Bounty Hunter as part of it.
The books start shipping on the 8th, next Monday, but are they shipping from CB to the distributors, or from the distributors to retailers? If the latter, we will get them by Christmas, I hope. Otherwise, Sad Panda time, since we won't see them until after the New Year.
I like how the pages are in English, but the annotations are in Spanish. I'd take the books in Spanish if it would get them to me faster. No habría ningunas problemas.

That is some SERIOUS proliferation of conditions for this edition. Looks like there will be a ton of new rules to understand. Perhaps with the basic mechanics well refactored, this won't be an issue, buuuuuut I'm getting a bit leery of complexity creep.
I have faith in CB, so will reserve judgement until N3 is in our hands.
In the meantime, any speculation about what Spearhead and Tinbot might be, anyone?
Well, clarifications and streamlining the rules was supposed to be the primary goal. They're free to add more special conditions and rules in their game.
The Warstore is now reporting that November releases(Kotail with Spitfire, JSA Support Pack, Dog Warriors, Janissary with HMG, and WarCor) are in stock today and ready to ship out!
Of the tokens in that list, three of the mechanics already exist in 2nd edition--building damage, destruction, and getting blinded--and several of the tokens are markers for effects discussed in the Infinity Week rundown for hacker effects.
A: "What's that marker do?"
B: "It's to remind you that my remote has B2 when it declares ARO shoot. That's why it says Enhanced Reaction B2."
A: "Ah, okay."
Starting to wonder if we should just get blank tokens and write on them with a marker, ala. warmahordes.... Seriously, its getting to the point where we need to spend like $100+ to get every single token.
That's exactly what I do. Print them on to nice photo/gloss paper with a decent printer, then stick them on to Mantic Warpath bases (extremely cheap, and perfect for tokens as they taper underneath so you can easily get your fingers under them). BLAM, job done
Also has the advantage that you can just print out ones you need for your particular force..
Micky wrote: Starting to wonder if we should just get blank tokens and write on them with a marker, ala. warmahordes.... Seriously, its getting to the point where we need to spend like $100+ to get every single token.

Thats is what I do, why spend the money when I all ready have some that work great.

Four including Targeted.
Which leaves:
Sniffer - new equipment, like a Deployable Repeater but for Sensor instead of for Hacking.
Supportware, Enhanced Reaction & Fairy Dust are all Hacking-related.
Isolated game state for Hacking and E/M.
Tinbot sounds like a new piece of deployable equipment.
Completely unknown:
Marksmanship L2 - as this is a skill it must be a way of granting the skill temporarily.
Spearhead?
Corrosion?
From the name, I guess Corrosion could be a status like DIS or IMM so it sounds like something that would make sense as a token if it doesn't just cause wounds.
ski2060 wrote: Maybe a reduction to armor value due to acid or nanobot damage?

From:
"National Of Barcelona"
Releases:
December- Squalo and Rasail Boarding Team for Tohaa (Symbiont Armor guy and gal with Chaksa "Auxbot" with flamethrower)
January- Sogarat HMG Govads are the new fire team for Hassassins
Imperial Agent Sanying has one foot raised on a rock. (Ha!)
New Jean De Arc for Giraldez's painting book.
Combined Army:
Maakrep are confirmed to have MSV2, but they do not have Symbiont Armor
Fraacta is confirmed to have Transmutation, how it works will make more sense in N3. (Possible swapping between profiles).
The army palette is a design choice to make the force seem more unified. Different colors made the force less attractive.
New Morat (Rodok) with Super Jump and potential for Fire Team.
New Silhouettes:
0- Prone or Unconcious
1- Palbot
2- Humanoid
3- Remote
4- Hulks (Tarik and Ajax)
5- Combat Remotes and Bikes
6- Light T.A.G.s (Geckos) and Larger Models (Dog Warriors and potentially Antipodes)
7- Normal T.A.G.s
8- Maghariba Project if they can get the kinks out.
Ariadna still remains "unhackable" some units have a Hackable characteristic.
Frenzy cause you to become Impetuous at the beginning of your next turn.
New background in the book.
Smoke interactions have changed for ARO, Dodge is straight PH, Shooting back is at a -6 unless you have MSV or SS.
All REMs drop in price.
Success of Icestorm is going to allow Corvus Belli to really push Infinity to the level they want and gain more recognition as a gaming and miniature company.
ITS 2015 has more missions, new formats, new miniatures for the tournament, potential for seasons with backstory. Updating the profiles for free raised some eyebrows?
New Graphic Designer named Hugo is helping to recreate the Infinity website potentially.
Alternative idea, stick two of the tokens back to back and then put a disk on each side, that way you've got alternative sides to use in the game, cutting down on clutter in your carrying case or whatever.
More than 400 SKUs by now just for stuff direct from CB, even with all the consolidation into box sets. I'm mostly an online retailer though, which makes it slightly easier as they don't all have to be on display.
This is not an official word, just picked from the discussion which has followed from the announcement, but apparently it’ll be with distributors on the 15th. That may mean it could be with retailers slightly earlier than the 19th. Either way, if you have it on pre-order and want it before Christmas, then arranging some kind of express shipping for it would probably be a good idea.
Apparently the delay has been at the printers. Looks like my vision of falling asleep while reading after a mighty xmas dinner is less likely now .
Between the shipping delays of the holiday season combining with the requirement for customs agencies to clear the packages, the unique "Spanish Calendar" that Corvus Belli seems to work off of(which "forgot" a holiday which is celebrated every year on the same day), and the seeming ineptitude of the printers they use...it was unicorn horns and gumdrop dreams that N3 would be in anyone's hands before Christmas.
They NEVER should have put a "tentative date" of December 8th for shipping their preorders out, and Interruptor NEVER should have been talking about wanting this to be a "Black Friday item".
This whole second half of the year has been CB lurching from one mismanaged release to another.
Hopefully they stop twiddling their thumbs and release the PDFs and updated Army Builder before/immediately after the New Year, as this release is seemingly wrecking a ton of scheduled events across the US.
I'm sorry, did I say that they were malicious?
No. I said they were "mismanaged".
And quite frankly, Icestorm was a joke with how badly handled it was. That should not have caused their last 2014 release month(November) to get cut down to just two releases.

Well, seeing as how they said they weren't going to be shipping on December 8th anyways(as it's a holiday called "The Feast of the Immaculate Conception" that they somehow forgot to account for, despite it being an annual holiday that occurs on the same day...) you will likely not see it this year.
N3 rulebook has been delayed according to a poster on BoW
As much as I dislike the idea of sending out all our pre-orders that close to Christmas, the tentative shipping date of the 8th was always the date for books to leave CB, not the date for books to leave the distributors.
Kanluwen wrote:They NEVER should have put a "tentative date" of December 8th for shipping their preorders out, and Interruptor NEVER should have been talking about wanting this to be a "Black Friday item".
That was Fernando Liste the CEO, not Gutier/Interruptor, the rules and background writer. I do agree that Black Friday should never have been mentioned.

We've been through this before. The Icestorm pre-orders were the equivalent of about two and a half months' production output. Not two and a half months' new releases - two and a half months entire output for the factory including new releases, restock orders for the 400+ other items in the range and their 15mm historical range.
I'll ask again, because you didn't answer last time - what's your experience in business/production?
Its upsetting, yea, but this is like a broken record. They didnt think Icestorm would be so popular and blow up the company. It did, and im happy for them. Infinity is one of my favorite games, even though I maybe, MAYBE get to play it once a month if lucky as there is only 1 other person who plays at my FLGS.
Im not gonna rage over it, as it isnt my life, and I have pleanty more games to play till its out. Grabbing pitch forks isnt going to make it come any faster.
What they could do however, that would help, is release the new army builder online ASAP. At the very least people can play with updated minis and use the spolied info from BoWN3 week to play their games in someweird form of 3.0 Beta rules
CB gets enough of my $$ for Infinity already.
A delay will let my wallet recover a bit.
With anything rushed to deliver, it's best to see it take longer and done right. Nobody wants some rushed mess full of errors, defects, mistakes & what-have-you.

I've got to say that earlier tip about circular adhesive scrapbooking sticker things was spot on:

C) Have a beef with Hobby Lobby (it's an American thing, we're a little special here).
We're talking slippage of like one, maybe two weeks here folks. Stop freaking out and saying CB is mismanaged. They do need to learn to hedge their bets a bit, but that's not mismanagement.
This whole second half of the year has been CB lurching from one mismanaged release to another.

No? Then I kindly suggest you keep your stupid apologist jokes to yourself.
I have issues with GW. I was NOT a happy camper when it came to the Khaine release two weeks past as the stupid book sold out within three to four minutes. It took the timeframe of me sitting down at the order point at my store and signing in to my account for the stupid book to sell out. But you know what? I know that no matter how vehement or upset or ranty I get--GW isn't going to change.
Just like I know that even when I am at my most irritated and furious with CB and provide them a scathing tirade, as long as I am not calling their employees names or being insulting to their employees--they'll still take those complaints and actually work to better themselves.
So you think I complain just for the fun of it or to be contrary with CB's products vs GW's? Fine. But knock off the apologist crap. It stopped being cute or funny years ago, and all it does is detract from any actual argument you could have made.

In my case, it was Option D: I went to Hobby Lobby and they were all sold out of the epoxy stickers, and they were also sold out of 1" hole punches.
While I don't want to see the usual Kan bashing come up, he does get away with a lot of CB bashing without ever explaining himself other than 'because I'm Kanluwen and I know better than you'.
Which gets more irritating than a derailment. I too would like to know which other small companies would have handled Icestorms popularity with ease.

There are other places in the US that sell such things. I found some at Michael's. I believe AC Moore even has them. They're out-of-stock, but listed in Walmart under "Epoxy Stickers"
I just got back from Hobby Lobby, and there's one important thing to note.
The "Spare Parts" packaged stuff isn't in the same part of the scrap booking supplies as the round glue circles. And the previous time that I went there, I was looking for round adhesive circles. These things are basically hard clear plastic discs with some adhesive on them so they'll stick to paper.
They were a little tricky to find for sure, and the employees are unlikely to know what you're talking about. The best mine was able to come up with was regular stickers and the scrapbooking aisle

That was far more of a reply than my post warranted!
Sorry if I touched a nerve, no offense was intended..
