well...childe... for once... peter cushing is my old fashioned favorite personification of sherlock...
but the new version done by downey jr. and cumberpatch i like for their anto social behavior... something the older version in films didn´t show...but i like these... the quasi autistic ways of the bbc sherlock version i really find interesting and his nastyness... yetserday as i stated we watched the baskerville episode...where he even experimented with his "friend" watson... that is telling you something^^... also i think his as you stated quasi phallus (lol) character is something i like quite much... and beside the fact that i define myself as a mostly (well mostly as who knows what the road ahead might bring up...) hetero guy... but i think cumberpatch oozes a certain kind of sexyness i am not afraid to say even i can feel... that man has a certain something... for once i am not jealous of a better looking man than me but i can understand his success...
and soon there will be yet another installment of this great character... set in the victorian area but this time with a twist as watson will be played by lucy liu... well we´ll see how that will develop soon i guess...

easy...easy there! that talk leads to hatered...and hatered leads to fear....and fear leads to suffering...and...war...war never changes...!
Dave its because the EU gives us a massive proportion of imigrants we have to take because we are part of the EU. ours is greater than both France and Germany, countries that have a greater proportion of country to population. As such, our jobs get saturated with people willing to work for next to nothing, which leaves people who think they are above meanial tasks unwilling to work public sector jobs.
Tis truely fracked Dave.
Bring back national service, or make those who refuse to work do community service.
Ok...I see, so it's like what we have, called Welfare. But does anyone know? Are they all REALLY freeloading off the system? Does the unemployment rate meet or exceed the "benefits bums"?
I ask because often our news media ONLY ever shows those who blatantly ripp off the Welfare system, by constantly having babies to keep it up, but in reality most of them are just using the system to get out of a tough spot and on their feet again. Of course, our media is ruthless.

Its far worse than that, see my above answer. its a combination of both, but it's the EU directives which lead to the benefits system being more lucrative than working.

IMO it seems 50/50 really, the media shines the spotlight on the unwilling more than the ones who are looking for work. I myself am on DSS (welfare to you Americans lols), and I'm looking for employment in the Art sector, which i'm sure most of you know is like looking for a needle in a haystack...
And Unemployment is really more at a level of magnitude un reported so as to not worry folks. The news only reports unemployed folks who draw unemployment checks and report that they are still looking for work.
They do NOT report those that never applied, and those who ceased reporting due to their unemployment being cut off.
Meanwhile there is "Corporate welfare" all of this is a subject best left for OT section.

so...
need your help as i said... this is already the thrid instalment of hannibal now... and i am still not really satisfied with the scheme for the basecoats...your turn then...
coat is now vermin fur and black trimmings...or better black inside...
the white trousers...red jacket... black hat...black boots...
and then the issue about the bended brush... this is it.... and i have to say... i love that thing... makes painting for my somehow way more easier... i need to experiment with an old brush now if i am able to bend it too...
Vik, i assume that brush is angled upwards while using it so the strokes are more natural rather than the bristles having to bend.
That should give it a far cleaner stroke each time.
Also, its bloody good for getting to hard to reach areas on a model.
I own 2 of them (ultra fine and standard) and i swear by them for most things.
Also, since its a far more natural stroke and not a forced drag, they dont leave any brush marks on the paint, even if you havent thinned it prior to using it.
Great for large areas of armour or long flowing cloaks.
jackal... my thoughts exactly on that brush! i simply fell in love with that one... i know the shop has a bigger sized one too in their range... i will get that soon too... to good to refuse... the painting motion is as you discribed it way more natural for me...and i can do way pre precises strokes with it too...
Its amazing how something as simple as a bend in a brush makes it soo much better.
You would have thought that it would have been a common place brush to use now, but i guess not :(
I also use a deluded S7 rubber brush which is pretty damn good, well, was before the company went bust lol.

Still going after 5 years Simply a normal brush, but rather than bristles it has a rubber point. The rubber draws up paint like a normal brush, but it has less flex in it, meaning for edging and lining its amazing.
Soo many handy tools that people dont know about or havent used.
ooh, I like the sound of a rubber-tipped brush and a bend brush... any chance of links?

Oh?
I very much like early 70's through early 90's rock and roll, heavy metal, hard rock and rock specifically (70's Led Zeppelin through to 90's Metallica), but also some more different stuff- I don't mind blues rock or some classical every so often. I think the majority of tabletop gamers tend to like rock, or similar sub-genres, which I always thought slightly odd seeing as in most other respects, we're quite diverse...
the brown was meant only as a basecoat really... in fact i intened to get the coat mostly done with devlan mud later on... do you think the shining through primer might be problematic...
and the real trouble i have with the vest and the pants... somehow this looks dull... on this mini at least.. standard cadian i think it looks cool tho...
is there any pics around the net to somehow show in what direction the mini might go?...you know me... demons and such things i think are cool tho i have little knowlegde about these...
ah... nice of you jackal to provide a sortz of guiding pic...well with this one get some air dry clay first to get the bulk done with cheaper materials... seems this would get really pricey and long time timewaster if done all by GS alone...
Thanks vik The main issue i had was that the nurgle daemon is very static in its pose.
May still get it finished though as it will be the 2nd sculpt ive actually bothered to finish lol.
Theres my old account and my blog on here for sculpting.
If you scroll down a bit you can see the nurgle daemon on a 40mm base that i actually finished lol.
wow... i hope you feel akward for not getting that lil fella painted... he has some rather basic pull and pinched details on it but the whole thing looks so weird cute.... it would be a real shame if you don´t finish that one...the balde...the bum and the teeth... very cool mini you should darn... i repeat myself...^^
and you seem to be around for ages already... joined 2008 back then...
lol, ive been on here too long Annoying thing is, back then i used a private storage account for my pics rather than dakka since dakka pic storage had a few issues. So all of my pics are in a private photobucket account :(
I still have the lil fella! He is sat on my helf with his weapon broken off, just needs fixing lol.
He is too small to be a daemon prince and too big to be a plaguebearer, so no idea what to use him for lol.
nurgle makes everyone happy as he has a gift for everyone... papa nurgle is your pal and your well pappa^^
and you don´t need an excuse to finish the lil nurgle... heck...if i had to find an excuse to why i paint and modle i would be doing nothing...as i am no player atm..
Ive managed to find some old ogre models i can use for the base concept now Saves me having to build wire frames as they are just the right size.
Might mix the weapons up a bit though.
Cleavers, scythes and possibly a mance for good measure lol.
Beasts of nurgle are hardly competative, but tough none the less.
Main thing will be leg and arm possitioning.
As they are they look like statues.
Might simply cut their legs and arms off the GS them back on in better poses.
Could cut out a bit then bend them if you really wanted. Plus side is Nurgle is supposed to be sort of icky so you and just fix up any joint pretty easily.
The torso will be sculpted on anyway, so in theory i can twist the sculpting round the torso to change the pose as needed.
However, with all the limbs able to be changed, the torso shouldnt need changing.
I may do to simply go with the numbers theme for chaos.
Ive got 30 ogre bulls if needed.
Also, im in 2 minds weather i should make them the same as the little one, or go for a less mutated all over look.
Could keep them as hulking lumps of flesh still, but add in nurgle detail rather than re-sculpting the whole thing.
