Bastions are $44.99 for five (no UK price as yet) and look pretty sweet.

Well, they are $45 for five of them, at any rate.

I think my mom had a set of shoulderpads like that back in the 80's.

My god those are ugly.

Looks like they match the Menoth aesthetic to a tee. Big angular shoulderpads must be a Menite sacrament.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

The models are so badass it almost makes me wish I played Menoth.

Oh well, I already have my 5 Demo Corps. Maybe if Mk 2 makes Shocktroopers awesome and PP does a plastic kit for them I'll be excited.

Love the models, but agree on the criticism of the shoulder-pads' uh, scale if you could call it that.

When did the gargantuan shoulder-pad thing really take off? Seemed to me like heroic scale 28mms started it and WoW took it to the next level of silliness, but I could be mistaken. Menoth and Khador in PP minis are typically the worst afflicted, with the Harbinger and Epic Vlad being the greatest offenders.

A lot of people don't seem bothered about it at all though. In fact I remember a time in WoW when some 'bug' was causing only Orc shoulder-pads to be smaller (almost believably sized). A lot of players were really put off by it and I knew of a few people who actually stopped playing their Orc characters until their shoulder-pads were re-inflated with a patch.

But I digress... cool models, particularly for their first foray into a new medium.

I think they Look Awesome!! I'd love to do a Bastion heavy army and I see huge potential to convert Epic Kreoss out of one of them as well. Bit order his weapon and his steam pipes and you're all set.

I think they look pretty cool, and the level of detail bodes well for PP's future plastic kits.

At first glance, $45 seems kind of expensive for five plastic models, but I guess these are Terminator-sized, so it's probably par for the course, really. Not that I think Terminators are particularly fairly priced, though.

Yeah, I saw those. I don't know how big a Temple Flameguard trooper really is though...

Are they bigger than Terminators, then?

Don't much like the minis (shoulderpads are too much for me) but the detail is promising.

Actually there is a Fluff Reason for all the Huge shoulder Pads in Warmachine. It has alot to do with the early day of fighting Jacks, basicly if you had huge shoulder pads it made it much harder for jacks to swipe your head off or land a blow directly on top of your head. Basicly the big maces and clubs /fists the Jacks used early one would hit the shoulder pads not whats inbetween them.

They look good, lots of details, they fit POM army look very well. Its also a price drop for PP since that unit would normally have been 3 metal models box for 45bucks and 2 15 dollar blisters. Size wise these things are bigger than terminators by a decent bit, Closer to Ogryn size really. my guess would be about the same size as Man o wars or warmongers. Got to remember that Privateer press games are "offically" 32mm heroic not 28mm heroic, that said some of there models are actually 28mm standard ( old school saty, Kell).

I think it wouldn't matter how big your armour plates were, a punch from a 'jack is going to shatter your skeleton like china. A better defense would be mobility.

Okay, this I didn't know. Where was this written? I don't have a lot of the source material (seeing
as a bunch of it is out of print), so I can only look up stuff in the core miniatures rulebooks (ie, no
Iron Kingdoms stuff).

They have shoulder pads that make my Custodes envious.

Some terrific conversion fodder for a Custodes dread in there too....

If I remember correctly it was in a No Quarters dealing with some fluff on Vlad. They were explaining why his ancient armor had the huge shoulder pads. They also point out a couple other examples like the Iron Fang Pikeman. The article did stat that the practice was slowly falling out of style, though older orders who have a tradition of useing them still keep them, exemplars, paladins , storm blades, sword knights, even Banes have them but i have a feeling thats because there former owners did also.

$45 for five plastic models - ugly assed models at that. PP has got to be the biggest "emperor has no clothes" company going. Most of their range is sub-par, a few par and one or two exceptional models (usually ruined by being a PITA to build). Ug ug ug ugly sculpting.

What gets me is where is the indignation? Where are the comments "I am never playing PP ever again" and "PP will go bust if they charge this". If GW released the same models for the same price say hello to the resulting fire storm of GW sucks balls. Smacks of hypocrisy to me.

PP business practices are not exactly a huge difference to GW, and we all know why that is.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

SoCal, USA!

I like that PP is a whole $1 cheaper per model than a GW Terminator.

I also like that they copy the Liefeld-like shoulderpads from the Mutant Chronicles Doomtrooper designs.

Go PPP!

I'm not sure I understand the intent of your post.

Are you complaining that these models are cheaper, have more detail, and are larger than GW terminators?

$45 for five plastic models - ugly assed models at that. PP has got to be the biggest "emperor has no clothes" company going. Most of their range is sub-par, a few par and one or two exceptional models (usually ruined by being a PITA to build). Ug ug ug ugly sculpting.

I think you're in the minority on this one. PP has some poor sculpts (especially the early stuff), but on the whole, most people would agree that their stuff looks really good.

What gets me is where is the indignation? Where are the comments "I am never playing PP ever again" and "PP will go bust if they charge this". If GW released the same models for the same price say hello to the resulting fire storm of GW sucks balls. Smacks of hypocrisy to me.

This seems like poor logic to me. Just because A complains about B, does not mean A also has to complain about C to avoid hypocrisy. Especially considering that the Bastions are cheaper than most comparable GW products, and have more detail, and are larger. Also considering that if PPS did this same unit in metal, it would cost more. A cheaper, better product usually results in a happier customer.
