Hi Guys,

I am sure this has probably been discussed already but I was talking with a red-shirt at a Chicago area game store and asked him about that BOLS post from the other day. He said he had heard nothing about it but he did say that he was told from his sources that a new 40K race would be announced at the Chicago Games day. He said that while he didn't know what exactly it was going to be, all signs pointed to something Imperial. I asked if that meant Ad-Mech and he said that he couldn't imagine what else it would be (and neither can I if it is Imperial).
On a side note, he also said that while he's heard nothing definitive about Space Hulk yet, he expects it to be the big GW Christmas release.

Hopefully I haven't retread too much, just wanted to pass on what I heard. Obviously, it could be all , but you never know.

O H I am in the Webway...

I wouldn't be surprised if they released a Allies Type codex with Ad Mech + The Priests (ecclarchy? spelled that VERY wrong...) or something along the lines of that.

Personally I would be ecstatic if they actually did that. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to play Ad Mech.

They cant keep up with the number of books they got, and their announcing another one?

WTF?

Hope more old fools come to their senses and start giving you their money instead of those Union Jack Blood suckers...

Redoing the DE would count as a new race imo

Totally new codex .... check
ACTUAL fluff.. check
completely redone model range.. check

If that isnt a new race then I dont know what is!

Right now DE have no codex except for "Dark lances and wyches".. their fluff is 1 page and their models arent even on the shelves

I thought the 'new race' announcement was going to be for WFB?

Maybe they will do one for 40K (AdMech) and WFB (Chaos Dwarfs)?

Whatever it is it's guaranteed to cause nerd rage.

Pick one and rile yourself up:
-It's stereotyping x group, someone should sue GW
- It's gonna be SM, hurr.
- X army needs a codex first
- Redshirt don't know nuttin.
- Spam Pan Fo references.

If they're doing "new" armies, I want "proper" (i.e. model-supported) LatD for 40k!

The Red-Shirt mentioned DE as in the works. He was talking about what he knew for certain was coming up and he said Space Wolves followed by DE. I didn't mention it though because he echoed something I've read here a billion times, about some guy (Phil Kelly?) writing it right now. Also, I think there's a big difference though between someone saying new race which implies something either completely new or something we haven't seen in a long time and saying new codex which I think could be taken to mean just about any of the armies needing 5th edition rules. Again, I have no idea if what he is saying is true or not, but given that the Chicago Games day is less than 20 days away, it will be pretty obvious if he is full of it.

Well AdMech was going to be the one army I would break down and buy in resin despite my aversion to resin and FW products in general... but if they're going to be a normal GW army, be they metal or plastic, then count me in.

I didn't just (finally) get a hold of the Ltd. Ed. Skullz AdMech unit for the fun of it - I love AdMech.

Bet 'New' means confirming officially the upcoming space wolves.

Hell, new could mean a reimagining of the DE as a whole new* concept. Not that I'm opposed to such an idea, as long as it's good.

*Chaos Eldar, because I doubt Jervis & Co. could come up with anything better.

DE have only been in the works since 2005? 2006? Who knows

And if you listen to one member of this board, they're not in development and have, in fact, been dropped from the 40K lineup.

It's obviously Codex: Demiurg, to go alongside their new "Top Secret" Boardgame they're releasing in September: Demiurgs vs Squats.

Bah, they need to fix what they have now.. and all that noise. Whatever. Maybe they are releasing against Privateer Press and their Duckbilled Wraithlords by making a race that uses Bat Eared Khador Juggernaughts.

Again: if it's a furry race, I swear to God I will burn down Warhammer World and publicly execute Jervis for crimes against humanity.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Personally, I think an AdMech army could be totally sweet and awesome, but I've thought that for years.

That said, I would really love it if GW could actually support the races that have already been developed or are in development. It would be really cool if Dark Eldar actually do come out after Space Wolves (and if they actually have sweet minis and a cool codex). It should be interesting to see what happens.

I (sadly) don't ever see them doing a Deathwatch Codex, or even any Inquisitorial things again (the current batch will be turned into a Generic unit in a GK and/or SoB Codex).

But if they ever do, I'll be the first person with a Deathwatch army... 'cause I already have one!!!

Anyway, AdMech, do you think they saw the endless scratchbuilds using Defiler parts that have been cropping up the past few years and thought "We could make money selling new walker-ish kits"?

Even if it was a imp guard style army (which I swore I would never start again) I would buy it, cause they are awesome.

It pains me when people ask me why I have a squad of black marines with silver arms and different chapter pads.

I treasure that unit, and any of the new plastic deathwatch pads that come in the newer kits (apparently half of my Dark Angels army has been through the deathwatch)

Ad mech would be too much fun, Skitarri(?), and other cool stuff.

As far as Deathwatch goes use SM sternguard as Deathwatch, I got that project in the works. Use Scouts as "Storm troopers" with land speeder drops, A Chapter master as the Inquisitor. A little more imagination and there you go.

Oh yes. I've collected quite a few of those shoulder pads - enough for a Command Squad, 2 standard DW squads, a DW Dev and a DW Assault Squad, all with either metal, plastic or resin chapter pads. The leader of my DW Assault Squad is a Flesh Tearer using the mean and nasty head from the Khorne Berzerker kit. He's cool!!

The DW pads ones that are hard to get are the Deathwatch Terminator Shoulder pads. One per box. I did manage to get enough to cover a 6-man Terminator and 8-man Terminator Assault Squad. If only there was a DW-style Dreadnought arm. That would rock.

Please god tell me it's a DE re-do.

Or an Inquisition Codex.

Anything else gets GW a harsh letter from me.
