You could make the terminators be the bikes!

They never dismount, they just ride, for the emperor, into oblivion.

What about a Terminator riding two wolves, like roller skates?

Being pulled by an even bigger wolf?

No, that would just be silly.

Being pushed by a space wolf scout on the other hand...

I could see a scout riding a wolf.

I draw the line at Power Armor, though. Unless this is some sort of super-robot wolf.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

Welp, it's a really, really big Wolf.

If they made rules for Terminators riding on top of Dreadnoughts, then the codex chapters could have their equivalent.

Honestly, I think Canis is as silly as he is awesome. Makes for a nice, semi-ironic model to use.

'Ridiculously stupid'? Come on, it's not that bad an idea (and nor was the riding lizard from 20 years ago - haven't any of you seen 'Wizards'? And what about Stormtroopers riding Dewbacks?). People complain about all Marine armies being basically the same, then complain when something different is introduced

I think the real problem with this was the execution. If the model looks good, people will buy the idea. In this case it would have required a really dynamic looking wolf, with lots of bioniks, not only to sell the idea that it's able to carry a Marine but also to tie it in better with the Marine model. But the model looks terrible, and it's now open season on the whole concept.

In a way this was inevitable since it fits their 'space Vikings obsessed about wolves' image but that puppy has to have some serious strength to move a SM around. Definitely cheesey (imo all of GW stuff is though) but I think its also one of those models that look a lot better on the IRL tabletop than pics.

But to each their own; some people absolutely loathe Vostroyan and Praetorian guardsmen because of their silly hats/fluff/inspiration but they appeal to me but I can't say I was a fan of the Squats concept and models, etc.

You know those exo-armored bikers would probably look awesome if they got redesigned.

I had the entire Warlord and Hearthguard in Exo Armour and bikes with a guild master to boot back in the day! I've been waiting for the nex Codex: Squats since I opened the 2nd ed. box. and the squads went from 8 dudes to 5.

Marines on Wolves is a pretty lame idea, but like someone mentioned they are very big wolves. I'm sure the market will decide if they are any good or not...as it did to my poor Squat brethern.

You mean like the other sci fi franchise which has terminators?

Yes that would be good, whether it would work for marine terminators though, not sure.

Agreed that the execution was silly.

I'd rather the Wolf wasn't a mount, but a bodyguard styled attachment to the character.

Then there'd be two Loyalist heroes with dogs!

Now that would have been a better idea.

And I will stand by my earlier assertion that an 7 to 8 ft. tall Power Armored Marine (weighing what exactly?) wearing lightning claws (oops, sorry! Wolf Claws) riding on a wolf is ridiculously stupid.

Only because you are silly and fell for the propaganda!

That wolf is a papered pet, and quite docile. Once a year they bring out a guy in paper-mache armor to sit on top of him for a half hour while they take pictures to use in the promo posters "Loyal sons of Russ! Join the Space Puppies and get a Pony!" They pass the posters around the viking villages and lots of bored, 16 year old berzerkers fall for it, and join up. No one ever really gets a pony, or a wolf, or even a riding lizard. Most of the time that wolf sits in a nice room, getting fed scooby snacks. It's why he's so fat.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^For me this seems to be the main point^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

The scale of the wolf is truly fXcked, this pic of a dewback shows a more reasonably sized animal able to carry a marine.

When I was younger I toyed with the idea of converting some marine cavalry and mounting them on horses from the fantasy range. Threw that in the bin as soon as I realised they looked dumb. I don't know why GW never came to the same conclusion. I even have issues with the bikes.

Big chested broad shouldered super humans with flared legs might look good in dynamic poses, but standing still (if you've noticed the static marines they have now, such as sicarius, master of the blank etc. are covered in robes) and sitting down? Looks silly in my opinion.

I agree, marines do need something different, and at least they are trying. I don't think this was it though.

Absolutely - those are the kind of dimensions it would have required to have worked. Which would have made it a very large piece of metal (as there's no way it would have been done in plastic). Which in turn would have really sucked when it came to assembling it. I'd settle for something smaller than a Dewback if they got the look of it right.

My earlier comment was actually directed at the scorn being heaped on the poor old riding lizard. Remember the models were smaller in those days, so it was actually a fairly good size to carry a Marine (or whatever). And there is absolutely nothing wrong with guys in power armour riding big lizards, as the photo you posted shows. Perhaps something for them to bear in mind when they do a Salamanders codex?

It really makes one wonder why the Emperor didn't wield Terminator-Chucks during the Great Crusade.

You know, attach two terminators together with a length of chain, swing them around and hit people... Actually, I think I'm on to something there.
