Wont be very violent? It has to be violent its friggin WARHAMMER 40k! Is there any clips or shots of the movie yet? Im honestly one that hopes this movie isnt a pile of junk on a dvd. Ill be upset if I buy it and it turns out to be as such

I was about 7 when the Bionicle movies were out.

Can't exactly vouch for them, they're not bad, but lets hope that they can actually pull out the grimdarkness outta their asses.

What I can say on their behalf is that their animation is top notch. Even in a kids' movie, almost everything is detailed beautifully.

Oh dear....now this is where its gonna really hurt

After years of "stealing" from other genres to create the beast we all know as WH40K, just how they are gonna make a movie that won't be directly compared to the things it has taken "inspiration" from is beyond me....

Lets see, Ultramarines vs Nids.....no, that would be Aliens, and just about every spin off from that great concept!

Not to mention, who wants to watch a film thats all about Hur Hurr lets kill everything.....and all the SM cliches that we know and love and accept as part of the game?

There's been amillion threads about a WH40K film, and it wasn't for laughs that people said such a film needed to be about something more than Marines...maybe a film based on Eisenhorn or Ravenor....

Lets hope it's marines fighting Orks, as I can apply for a job and finally put my Ork accent to use.

The Bionicle clip has nice visuals, but damn the animation is jerky. Here's hoping they get it to look a bit more natural for this Marine movie.

I'd guess they're fighting Orks for this one. There was talk of a Black Reach tie-in a while ago, which I think would work well. Keeps promoting that box set and two of their most popular ranges, and Orks vs. Marines never gets old to me.

I'm probably going to see weather it's good or not, but I don't think nids would be to like aliens on the count of Bio ships and Bio titians.

So yeah, someone said that this movie should be out around the same time as that Space Marine game. You know, the one with Space Marines.

I really can't imagine this being anygood. Sorry to be negative but like many things involving Ultramarines it will probably very shallow. I expect it will just be the heroic space marines kill everything else.

Plot: Our hero, the Ultra sick Lord of the Ultra Marines (Ben Afflec) falls for a hot alien chick (Megan Fox). He is torn between his duties to server and protect his chapter and brethren of the Ultra Marines, obey the undying living-half-dead-demi-god-Emperor of mankind ...or hooking up with a really hot alien chick (I mean cmon did you see Transformers? Yeah I'd hit that 2x). Along the way he meets a rag tag bunch of tough but lovable bunch of space marines. Their duty; to protect the human race from the endless kill bad guys ...and to party dudes! Cowabunga!

But, will they be enough to stop the forces of evil.... the immortal Gods of Chaos; the Blood God Khorne (Oprah Winfrey), Lord of decay and sick stuff Nurgle (Rosie O'donell), the Dark lord of pleasure Slaanesh (Madonna) and the god of change Tzeentch (Tom Cruise). Other gods include Star god C'tan (Chris Kattan), the God of war Khaine (Nicolas Cage) and the Laughing God (Jim Carrey).

Seriousl though? How do you think they could even pull off a non-violent 40k movie? Even PG-13 films tend to be PACKED with awesome violence, albeit low on the blood factor, a lot of the time now. Considering this movie would only contain "Animated Sci-Fi" violence and most of that will be non human death I could see this actually being rated PG-13.
I doubt it will be rated though...

Well, it can hardly be worse than the Mutant Chronicles film

But seriously, this _could_ be pretty good, if done as CGI motion capture. Pray they don't do it live, coz the first thing they'll discover is that space marine armour is totally impractical to move/act in...

There are two possibilities here.

1. This movie will be glorious.
2. Some nerd in the UK is gonna get punched in the face.

It is CGI.
